We came in yesterday for a mother's day meal and we were served by Faith, both food and service was perfect we will definitely be returning!

Hadn't been there for years but a warm welcome on entering. Lovely friendley staff and perfect surroundings for a great meal .service was very good , we will be back soon for sure.

The breakfast and latte was outstanding quality, also inside is very beautiful, highly recommend my other half also enjoyed it very much. Will be back to try the dinner menu very soon.

Came for Mother’s Day, daughter convinced me to share the Tomahawk, it’s huge and the onion nest was lovely. We were served by Millie who was super tentative throughout the meal and ensured my wine glass was appropriately full!

We were staying overnight at the adjoining hotel so used the pub for an evening as well as breakfast in the morning. We managed to get a table without booking in about ten minutes of waiting. Service was quick, the menu was pretty standard with a couple of vegan options. Ordered the vegan kofta skewers that arrived as the ‘Go Lighter’ option despite not asking for that. Did raise this with the waiting staff but didn’t really get an explanation other than an offer to return it to the kitchen. The kids were happy with their Mac n Cheese and Tex Mex Beyond. The prices were pretty high for a pub chain, the food bill came in at around £40 as we bought drinks separately. Despite the pricey evening meal, we felt breakfast was better value £10pp for a hot set breakfast plus continental - vegan breakfast available plus soya milk which was decantered when requested.

Great customer service from Jake tonight… nothing was too much trouble. Food was good, usual pub grub. The only reason for not giving a 5 was we were squeezed into a table between others, after asking to move as the other table was a table for 6 when we were only 4 (2 of which are partially deaf). The restaurant wasn’t full, they were just trying to not move into a different area, but the table we had was far too close to others… I could literally hear their conversations. Great place though…

We went here today for a family Sunday roast dinner. The food was great and were good portion sizes for both adult and children’s meals. The service was quick although a little bit too fast as the meals arrived well before the drinks. When we enquired as to when the drinks would come we were told the bar was really busy so another 10 mins wait could be expected. Our server Poppy was brilliant and sorted this out quickly for us in a friendly and professional manner. We would definitely return.

We regularly meet up with my brother and his wife for a meal and we’ve eaten here on quite a few occasions due to its location. This evening 3 of us ordered the steak & ale pies which I must say was tasty but unfortunately had very little if any meat inside and even then it was just fat. We waited for the check back and I raised our concerns. The young lady said she understood, apologised and said she’d speak with the kitchen. There was no offer to exchange the meal, no explanation on leaving and to rub salt into the wound we were charged the full price for the meal with no goodwill gesture offered. £12.29 for what was a gravy pie is an absolute disgrace! If this had been dealt with in a professional manner by the management then we would have returned, not acceptable Greene King. Please don’t attempt to blame our server as she was lovely! Mr Lloyd

A birthday celebration for my mum. The guy on the lap top at the entrance was quite rude & not very helpful. My mum was with her walker so not much room. We had to ask for menus. Not one of the staff wished my mum a happy birthday . Had to wait ages to be served at the table. My mum didn't enjoy her meal, it was gammon. She had nearly finished when one of the staff brought her a dried up fried egg saying they had forgotten about it. They mixed up the drinks, my daughter had a sip then it was taken off her? It spoilt my mum's birthday meal.

We eat here regularly. Always nice food. Its table service, not ordering at bar so that's another plus for us. Tje serving staff ate very accommodating. Poppy was especially helpful today.

There is no doubt about it - when the Holmefield Arms gets it right they are absolutely 5 star! Tonight was one of those occasions! Served initially by Poppy we felt uncomfortable on a draughty table next to the door so asked to be moved. We were moved to a table served by Faith and everything about our evening from that point was top notch!!! We will definitely return in the hope this service will be replicated again!!!!!

Stayed in the hotel for a few nights, a great stay! On Valentine's day we had dinner in the restaurant with our little boy and the service was fantastic. Katie G was really friendly and chatty. She paid special attention to our little boy which we are really grateful for and he loved! Paige was very attentive and did everything with a smile on her face! Return visit. After a previous negative experience at the Holmfield Arms we decided it was time to pay a return visit. We hoped that previous comments we had made were taken on board and happily tonight we found that the top service that we had previously experienced had been resumed. Our server Callum was very attentive and Jade the supervisor who had dealt with our previous issues took time to converse with us and was happy that our previous grievances/ situation had been rectified . Following tonight’s experience we will happily recommend The Holmfield and gladly return 😀

Haven’t been here for a while since i’ve been travelling around South American but it was just as good as I remembered. Was first greeted by Jake at the bar who recommended a superb drink, I believe it was called ice breaker. I was shown to my table by Megan, who has served me many times before. She asked about my travels and had a good conversation about it. She was very attentive and took my order soon after. I ordered the tomahawk steak that was cooked to perfection. Compliments to the chefs as well. Always a happy experience when I visit.

The standard of food seems to have gone downhill. We have been here a few times this year and always had nice meals. Today however, the beef roast was extremely poor. The beef was very fatty and tough, it seemed like bought in sliced beef, the rest of the meal wasn’t much better. Such a shame as it used to be a nice place for a Sunday lunch.

Would have given "0" stars is possible. Went for Sunday lunch today with my daughter. Ordered Turkey and it appeared within 5 minutes. Plate was very hot but food was barely lukewarm - food looked to be pre-plated. Turkey had swathes of fat throughout making it inedible. We had to remind staff we had no drinks and barely touched the food. Spoke to Manager who removed a coke from the bill (which wasn't touched as arrived too late) and £5.60 for the two meals we sent back. Read reviews beforehand but we prefer to see for ourselves. Extremely disappointing - would definitely NOT recommend and will not be returning. We go out for food regularly but this was terrible.

We ordered two Sunday dinners - trio of meat and a beef dinner, these arrived before our drinks order had arrived - which was a bit strange. Both dinners were cold, we told the waitress who took the away and got them changed for us. Once the second diners arrived we noticed they weren’t much better, the beef was well done not ‘served pink’ as stated on the menu- on the trio it was basically black, the meat cooking was extremely poor!! The stuffing was also over cooked - the waitress again asked how these dinners were, we told her not much better and average at best - she informed us that she’d go speak to her manager! We heard nothing else. Over all very poor!! Shame really as we’ve been here for Dinner on numerous occasions and always found it nice and a pleasant place to be!

Luke warm food, bit of cress, waste of space , I counted 10 chips, 1 chicken breast, 2 onion rings. Rubbish value for money, spoiled what should have been an anniversary meal out with friends. Never want that experience again
