I was warmly welcomed by a team member positioned close to the point of ordering. I placed my order and in a short space of time it was presented by a very pleasant team member. The food was very good and during the entire visit every staff member was polite, warm and professional! I shall be visiting again feeling a 'valued customer'

Went for lunch at the Hollybush Restaurant which is upstairs in the Hollybush Garden Centre and not to be confused with The Den downstairs. Staff friendly, restaurant busy but tables cleared promptly. Food very good, both of us had delicious burgers. My other half is glutton intolerant but he was well catered for. Followed by a piece of rainbow cake which was lovely and moist. Keep up the good work guys.

Met our daughter at The Den coffee shop on Mothering Sunday for a catchup. Extremely disappointing experience.... we were understanding how busy they were but when the coffee and food arrived, there were 3 long hairs on the tray and coffee, which fell onto 2 of the cakes when the coffee was picked up. This issue was dealt with by 3 different ladies, one of whom we assumed was a manageress as no introduction was made, with a very unprofessional attitude. One didn't know what the others were doing and we were left feeling a bit of nuisance by the time the issue was resolved. The cake was awful too, not very good quality at all ..... Needless to say we won't be returning.

Have to say I disagree with person who says they were disappointed with their salad . I often have the Ceaser Salad with bacon at the Coffee Shop and believe it's one of the very best you can get and well worth the price tag. Came for lunch and again not disappointed. We had sandwiches on brown bread which had that much filling it was such good value for money and really tasty- served with a bit of salad. Also treated ourselves to a clotted cream and jam scone which was rather large but very fresh and soft inside. Unfortunately the pot of tea didn't stay hot for long. It was still quite busy at 2pm when we arrived but we were served straight away and our food arrived soon after. Pleasant place to spend time with a friend over lunch and a catch up.

Visited Hollybush on a busy Sunday. Decided to have lunch in the restaurant with my hubby and son. The turkey and stuffing festive sandwiches sounded nice so we ordered one eah. Wish we hadn't bothered, tasteless turkey, cold uncooked stuffing and runny gravy, at nearly £6 each it was horrible and certainly not worth the money.

Food is always good we keep going back but facilities are poor. Lots of disabled customers but only one very slow Stannah lift, huge staircase so one side could easily have a no directional escalator installed which would make a huge difference. Seats are terrible, low and the springs have gone. Sort of seats you get with a cheap dining set, if you have bad taste. Finally the sauces come in sachets which are impossible to open. As well as being wasteful the plastic sachets are not environmentally friendly, we can easily get through 15 between the two of us. Will continue to go for food but the facilities need a major revamp. Also toilets are downstairs and cafe upstairs which is a nuisance particularly when you’re disabled.

I let it go when the staff taking my order were borderline rude because we are experiencing some high temperatures at the moment but when a hot dinner plate and 2 knives were placed directly in front of my 20-month old toddler I was appalled. Hollybush is our Sunday dinner choice, or it was. Ive no idea whats happened to the food. Have to say the food was once wonderful, fresh, well cooked and plenty of it, but not now.Gosh the Beef was dreadful, again, the veg raw..or though thats a mixed moan, very dry mash; and a lake of gravy. To be fair after a request the gravy now comes separate, so one problem solved. ALSO, why are the plate scalding hot, cant remember they were, so unsure why now.The lady clearing our table was very agitated, which is unusual as the serving staff are usually great, Given all the tables were taken we just asked if we could sit at the table while she was cleaning up, wasnt a nudge to get on with it. perhaps a symptom of something at odds at Hollybush.Sorry Hollybush i can go on and on, and on, but i can only hope the restaurant improves. Fingers crossed for that as the garden centre is a great place to visit on a Sunday.

I had a very pleasant lunch here with a friend the other day. I think you can say that the Hollybush coffee shop covers all the bases as it describes itself as a restaurant & café yet calls itself a coffee house. Whatever the definition in culinary nomenclature it does have a varied menu that should have something to please everyone. The main positive for me is I felt very relaxed there and was very impressed with the staff and their service. I will definitely be visiting again very soon.

The coffee shop supplied the refreshments for a training course I was giving at the garden centre. The staff could not have been more helpful. All attendees appreciated the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the service. Many thanks to all concerned.

I've been coming here for years from a child now I'm bringing my children but £5.95 for a full English with no hash brown no mushrooms and only 1 sausage 1 bacon 1 black pudding very small and very bland I have emailed management but this needs to improve I'm upset they have made it all modern this used to be a traditional place to be not now I like the extra shops but why all modern not sure if I will be returning in a while

This is a good place to have morning coffee or lunch. The food is very good standard and very appetising.

we visited the Holly Bush again today for lunch. And I'm really happy to say it was back to the standard we have been enjoying . My last review wasn't very good but I'm glad to say we were more than happy the last twice we've been. The staff are always lovely and friendly. It's usually Wendy that seems to take my order (although she wasn't in today) but she always remembers me and she is always happy . As are all the other staff. I love the Steak baguette and my husband had the all day breakfast. I always think I will have one of the lovely cakes after my meal but I'm always too full. Think I will have to have a take away one next time. Although how I will choose from the large selection I don't know. Anyway I'm sure we will be back next week.

Poor service, slow. We weren't asked about any allergies, the menu does not state what is in the meals. For example the menu says steak and ale pie, mushrooms not a steak mushroom and ale pie. Misleading at best. The breaded potato cake that comes with the chicken wrapped in ham contains cheese and what seemed to be spring onion no mention on the menu . We had to ask after 20 mins if our deserts were coming then they arrived after a further 10 mins. Asked for the bill it hadn't arrived after 20 mins so we went to the bar to pay. When I spoke to the manager he had excuses of being short staffed and said he took the menu comments on board, no apologies. I walked out very unhappy that our anniversary for me had been ruined. Not the experience I paid for. The quality of the food was good but overall the experience was poor. I felt sorry for the waiting staff as at points they were running around. If they don't have the staff then the bookings shouldn't be taken and maybe explain when customers arrive.

ITS NOT CLOSED! Visited the cafe after completing a walk along the Railway Walk to Awbridge. It’s had an upgrade and the Harry Potter theme has been replaced with some attractive refurbishment. Great food and pleasant service.

The Bull is a good local pub with a friendly atmosphere. It's an ideal place for meeting up with friends for a drink. Meals at lunchtime are good value for money. Bar staff are friendly and helpful.

My wife and I booked afternoon tea for 28 people in celebration of a special anniversary. The staff were all extremely helpful from the time of us making our initial enquiry to the end of the day of our event. They then emailed to check with me that all had been satisfactory. It was more than satisfactory it was a truly delightful experience with attentive staff and a very, very good afternoon tea. This contained an inventive selection of sandwiches and cakes together with scones served with jam and cream. Tea and coffee were served throughout including some ‘speciality’ teas. We had a cash bar but were able to arrange a drink each for our guests on arrival and delicious sparkling wine for a couple of toasts. Several of our guests made good use of the shop to buy a bottle or two of the wine that they had enjoyed during the afternoon. This was a very good experience well done Halfpenny Green. Will we return, most certainly we will to partake in both the great food in the restaurant and buy wine and other goodies from the deli and shop. Everything was extremely satisfactory and the staff were all excellent.
