We came to the pub to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday, from start to finish they were nothing but fantastic, we pre ordered as there were 22 of us, nothing was too much trouble and communication was great. Food and service was also fantastic one of the party commented it was the best pub steak they’ve ever had! It catered for us all from my dad enjoying the pedigree beer to the kids enjoying the play area and bouncy castle. We will definitely return, I can’t recommend highly enough. It’s had to find a traditional country pub that all ages can enjoy. Thanks to you all at the Hollybush for a great evening 🙌

Well, really shocked at treatment we received on arrival.....have been going to this place for 25 years +... was always lovely, booked night before for 4 people ...turned up only to be told we can only request a table, and not book!!!! our table was given to someone else who had reserved table ( ironically) we walked out thinking "what the hell has happened to this ..once.. wonderful place"! oh, on a side note its freezing in there so, wear a coat!!!!

Group of four…..nothing to complain about, girl behind the bar, beer and four good plates of pub food, 2 x fish and chips, 1 off the pie board and a garlic chicken. Not from the area, never been before but locals gave a welcoming nod. It’s what you want from a pub meal.

We've been coming here for family meals for at least 10 years and its always been a guaranteed hearty meal. Today unfortunately was not. The last few trips here weve noticed a steady decline in quality and increase in price. Our latest visit resulted in an outright argument from the waitress (arguing that a stale defrosted roll was actually a ciabatta) the staff were utterly rude and unhelpful, offering an alternive meal at a wait of 1 hour. No hospitality or consideration given at all. We will not be returning.

We popped for lunch here on our way through. The menu was full of choices and it was rather difficult to narrow down as everything looked so good. We both opted for a burger though. Wow we didn’t expect what arrived, everything seemed homemade from the burgers themselves to the chips and even the coleslaw. It was one of the best burgers I’ve had. The staff were brilliant too. They were welcoming, friendly and helpful. What more do you need. Everything was clean and distanced well and it felt safe to be there. We would definitely return.

We visited The Hollybush for a family meal last night. My son had sausages. He got up in the middle of the night vomiting. My husband had venison pie and was also ill (but from the other end). I had a vegetarian meal which I believe saved me from the ordeal. Such a shame because we have always enjoyed it in the past. I understand the pub has recently changed hands. We won't be returning.

Our second visit to the Holly Bush since it’s been under new management and could not fault anything. Cosy county pub with friendly & welcoming staff, felt at ease and safe as covid precautions in place and great food and drink options. We hired one of their self contained pods today for a family celebration, the hire charge of which is very reasonable at £5- would pay more! Meals arrived quickly and huge portions, so great value for money and were very tasty and waitresses looked after us very well. Matt the Barman was also particularly helpful and kept our drinks flowing. Will look forward to our next visit!

Monday evening early and we are trying out different pubs in the area whist EOHO is still available! As per previous posts (see Bitteswell) we do judge places on the initial welcome. Bar lady here (could have been owner/manager etc) seemed quite ambivalent about our presence. After getting a drink we informed her that we had booked a table and were asked to go into the side dining room. Its OK but not as nice as being in the pub itself and oppresive music being constantly played........guys turn it down a bit! Ordered food at the bar which came really quickly. Serving staff very efficient and smiley as in contrast to bar staff. Food overall OK viz a rump steak which was cooked as asked with plenty of chips/onion rings/mushroom/peas etc. No complaints. Mrs had burger which was very average howeverNice pub overall-- serving staff good--bar staff cheer up pls--food OK. Average experience overall. Would perhaps go back as long as we dont have to sit in that side room!

Sadly cannot give a proper review on the holly bush due to the fact we booked a meal at 2.30pm today got there and they were closed, tried ringing no answer so messaged them, this was how they stated they prefer to be contacted and how our booking was done, they eventually answered and said they had not opened today and had messaged us yesterday we received no message they said they cannot understand why we had not received the message and others had replied, we replied with a screen shot of the messages sent and received to prove we hadn’t received any message, I said they really should have tried again till they had confirmation we had received the cancellation, we had travelled a 22 mile round trip on recommendation so we were very disappointed What saddens me that the person messaging didn’t even give a name as we said in reply we appreciate that we are in different times but this overall was not good enough, this was our first meal out since February.

I appreciate Covid as we all do, BUT..... booked here for 7pm, attempted to order, was advised anything with chicken up to 45 mins so we didn’t want to wait. WELL..... we didn’t get served till around 8.15 so we may as well have waited. Was given two sachets of sauce between a table. Told the wait was due to corona virus which is fair enough, but tell people when they book there is only one chef allowed and there may be about a week wait. Can’t cook a steak which is a piece of piss, medium well when I asked for medium rare, it’s rump guys come on I cook it better. Thank the lord for 50% off else we would have buggered off. Less than average food and less than average service. Bye huns xxxx

Great place for a quiet drink or meal. Warm and cosy ambiance, friendly staff, good food at reasonable prices. Just beware that some of the punters bring in their dogs. On our last visit, someone seemed happy to park there dog in the main thoroughfare causing various people (including me) to nearly trip over it or take an awkward detour to avoid it!Will still go again though, for the other reasons stated.

We found this little gem courtesy of some of our friends who had recommended it. When we first went in we were made to feel very welcome, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were pleasantly surprised with the range of food that was on offer, so much so that we all struggled to choose one dish! 3 of us had pie of the day, 2 holly bush chicken and 1 scampi. I myself had the chicken sweetcorn and mushroom pie, we all agreed that all the meals were delicious and one of the tastiest meals we've had in a while. I would like to say thank you to Sasha who was one of the young girls serving, who helped me when I thought I had ordered the wrong thing. She was lovely, we will definitely be back for some more delicious food. Keep up the good work!!

First visit ever visit. Went for lunch while visiting a relative who had found this place by accident. Very nice pub visually inside & out. Polite, friendly staff. Very cosy but not on top of each other. Good menu selection with vegetarian options as well. The menu has plenty to choose from and it's not 'overcrowded' like some places and there's something that would please most tastes. Food is cooked to order so don't expect it in front of you immediately. This I liked as the food, and plates came out hot & nicely cooked. The menu covers lunch and dinner and discounted prices on most dishes are available at lunchtime. The three of us had a main dish and a drink for a little over £30.

Walking through the doors gives you a welcome to a traditional village pub. The menu for food is a spin of the usual pub food and the choice of homemade pies is good. There was a choice of at least 4 options when we visited. The steak and ale pie was delicious and there was a choice of potatoes which was a change from chips. However the chips I had were some of the best I’ve had for a very long time!

My partner and I hadn't been to The Hollybush in a while so we went along for 2 evening meals. The surroundings are slightly higher level than some pubs, which is nice. The drink selection is surprisingly good, which is matched by the menu listing slightly more than a usual pub menu. The main choices we had were quite large and tasty and were a good size quality pie and a chicken in a blue cheese sauce which I loved. There were 3 or 4 vegetables as well. Alice, our server, was very efficient and answered any questions we had.

We have been several times before and generally been pleased but on this occasion the service was dreadful and the food rather average. We had to wait an hour for food from the time of ordering and when it arrived, no apology and we were not asked if we wanted any sauces etc and had to go to the bar to ask for these. One member of our party had steak with no steak knife and it was not cooked as ordered. The service at the bar was also very slow with only one person serving resulting in a long wait. Maybe we were there on a bad day but we didn't leave feeling we were valued customers and we won't be in a hurry to go back.

The staff were all lovely, really happy and friendly and the locals were all nice people too, this is a proper country/village pub. never the type of person to write reviews but I must say tonight's visit was one that could not not get a review, decided to book a table here for my partners birthday only to make it a really disheartening experience, I understand it's a privately owned business so they don't have the financial means to train their staff properly in relation to customer service but i had this one waitress who was making my whole table feel uncomfortable by the dirty looks she was throwing at us. the dropped the sauce narrowly missing someone at the table with no apology whatsoever. Came back out clearing up the plates and I caught her eye and she shook her head at me so I asked what she was doing that for to which she claimed she wasn't and continued to give me her dirty looks, to which she then started arguing and called me rude , to be honest even if I was rude as a waitress she should not speak to customers like that under any circumstance. I left it at that and then when I paid my bill I ran it past what I can only assume was the manager who brushed It off completely with no apology and stated that it was miscommunication and they've never had a complaint about the waitress before. this business is not managed at all well in regards to customer relations and should it have been a bigger company it would have gone straight to head office, not expecting much from this but will not be dining here again and as they say a bad experience is talked about ten times more than a good one.

I had gammon for mains, a very generously sized portion with crispy chips, onion rings, mushrooms and salad. SO filling, and I was so full I wasn't able to try one of the gorgeous sounding puddings! We had heard about this pub from some friends, and since we were travelling to nearby Lutterworth we thought we'd pop in & give it a try. We found it to be a lovely, down to earth, dog-friendly country pub with some great beers (Black Sheep will always be a favourite of mine!) and a really friendly welcome from staff and customers alike (including the most gentle little terrier I've ever met).

Indifferent food with sloppy service. Can't really recommend. If you're happy with average food and service, fine.

Visited this lovely pub today. The food was absolutely second to none! Good fresh ingredients and lovingly home cooked. The menu was well varied - lots of lovely dishes to try. The staff were extremely friendly and the pub itself is lovely inside and out. Well done to the Holly Bush we will certainly be back again to sample the other dishes on their menu!

Great place to take kids to. Lovely ice cream and well worth the price. Especially the large tubs to take home for the freezer!

This is a regular lunch spot for us as food is very well priced, staff are friendly and always happy to answer questions. Very knowledgeable about the menu and allergies. Only negative is the size of mushy pea portion !!!...

Stopped off for post hockey 'tea' and we're treated to great pizza and fries. Based on this I would definitely go back to choose from the menu.
