The Holly Bush Inn in Stratford-on-Avon

Popped in as staying locally and loved this quirky pub. Lots of sitting area and you can collect a take away or stay in and eat in the bar. Plates, forks and napkins all available. The food was excellent and my husband was amazing I got through my Pad Thai chicken portion. I really like how this pub has diversified. Great local feel and if I lived locally many teas would come from here.

Arrived at approx 8PM on a Monday evening after a 4hr drive. Had the hotel booked for many weeks. Checked in and only two people in the whole place, one a local and the other was the barmaid. Said the restaurant was closed and no other options for food except a 15 min drive to their sister. Pub. wasn’t happy but accepted it. Then there was no iron in my room to iron my clothes for me my meeting the following day. Asked for one and was told there wasn’t any at all on the premises so I left straight away and found a local hotel with the usual expected facilities. Won’t be returning. Barmaid was nice and pleasant is the only nice thing I can say. Shame as it has great potential.

On first impression this is a lovely pub refurbished to a high standard. It has wood burning stoves, beams and beautiful stone and wood floors. There is a pool table and nice comfortable armchairs. There is even a small library area. We had lunch here after a walk with a large group. The staff were helpful and friendly. Some of us enjoyed the meals and some were a little disappointed. The Mac and cheese was very dry and the sausage and mash was swamped in gravy, gravy on the side is much better. There is plenty of parking available. The toilets were modern and very clean. Nice garden. Definitely worth a visit especially on a cold evening when the log burners would be lovely.

So good we went back a week later with other family members for an end-of-holiday meal. Good helpings of freshly cooked food that was very appetising. Service is good. We all left feeling well fed. Good ales on offer. The full English breakfast is amongst the best if you happen to be here of a morning.

There was well prepared good pub food and the beer was well kept and varied. It`s a large pub and seemed to be frequented mainly by locals

Great host, but..... the only restaurant in the area with lots of availability on Father’s Day. I know why.... only 1 meat on roast, vege option was poor, desert menu all sold out, restaurant cold.

No atmosphere had to ask for the background music to be turned on. First ones in asked what the soup, pie and resotto of the day was, none available!! What we had was average nothing special

We went to the curry night at the Holly Bush and it was excellent, very tasty and great value at £9 including a drink. Well worth a visit

Reservamos nuestra mesa para 5 a mediados de diciembre para el miércoles 27 de diciembre. Quien nuestra reserva en el teléfono y preguntó repetidas. Número de teléfono de nuestro Esta fue nuestra Navidad con nuestro hijo adulto y amigos. Cuando llegamos, la camarera parecía confundido sobre nuestra reserva, dijo que un hombre que era el chef, un gerente? Que simplemente puso los ojos en blanco y se fue. Entonces camarera, que pidió disculpas, dijo que no tenía reserva para nosotros y que no podían servirnos. Como buscamos todo el pub, nos dimos cuenta de que nadie estaba comiendo y no estaban sirviendo comida en absoluto. Nunca volveré a este pub de nuevo. Fiable y nadie parece a cargo.

The choices were excellent, the food delicious and the beer exceptional. Very friendly service too and our Airedale Terrier was welcomed in the bar area.

Visitamos la cena y las bebidas un par de veces cuando este fue bajo la administración anterior, y era bastante sorprendida de lo lindo la cena era! El pescado y las patatas fritas eran super!! No he vuelto desde la época de Navidad, así que no puedo comentar cómo es ahora. Espero volver pronto para ver cómo es.

We had a reunion dinner with my cousin and his wife, my niece and her partner and my husband. It was a short walk from the rental house we were staying in. The staff was very hospitable and fun. The food was delicious and served promptly. The prices were reasonable, too. Can't wait to go back when we return next year.

Went on a Thursday for the Burger special. (9.99 for burger and pud). burger was okay i ordered the double burger as i dont like them too thick, when it came it was only one i sent it back to be told the burgers were stuck together with cheese which was rubbish as there was not cheese in the burger only on top. My wife had a smokey joe which was an ordinary burger with a bit of salad and some paprika over some coleslaw. the fries were very good well seasoned and not greasy, we both opted for the panacotta with rhubarb. The panacotta was very good the rhubarb came with blackcurrants and totally over powered the rhubarb. Although this was a special offer we both felt that £9.99 was probably the right price.
