What a wedding! Couldn’t fault our experience - with our hosts bringing so much to the party. From dust until dawn this was a great experience!

I don’t know what was wrong with the barman but he was rude and reluctant to serve us. Kept calling me bruv then kicked us out with drinks half drunk at about 9. Asked for a refund, he said no we could take them with us! He spoke on the phone to a taxi company right next to us and started swearing at them when they said the price. Not impressed.

A lovely traditional pub with a nice log burner. All staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. I’ve eaten a few burgers in my time and this wagyu beef burger was the best of them! I’d definitely visit again.

Incredible venue that went above and beyond for a friend’s event. Lovely atmosphere and food. I would highly recommend it.

Recently attended a wedding party here and what a fun and unique place it is! Loved the option of standing at the outdoor bar chatting away with friends or the more relaxed option of sitting down in the beautiful barn. The staff were so friendly and accommodating - would highly recommend!

We had a wonderful evening at this adorable pub. It has the feel of a local bar where everyone knows each other but they are also very welcoming to new visitors. They have an extensive beer and wine selection. And the food was out of this world. The pizza is among the best pizza we have ever had. We also had Chinese pulled pork pancakes and a great chocolate dessert.

I what an awful experience staying in that tent, travelled almost 2 hours to a crap hole, absolutely disgusting and there was no services or anything available. Noisy campers near by kept me up all night totally horrendous, also the sheets was filthy

Filthy campsite , filthy tent , don’t waste your money book a cleaner place else you will regret it unless you take your own cleaning products and want to do some house keeping and take your own toilet roll and torch because no toilet roll and no lights to see

Stayed in tent , the carpet was filthy, also lack of facilities near by, and I could not see to get to the bathroom it was a bit of a walk and had to rely on my torch on my phone because there was no lights at all , when I managed to get to the bathroom it was filthy , the shower was dirty and toilet and the sink area, also there was no hand towels or toilet roll. Ruined my weekend and I’d never stay again , cost £97 which I might as well thrown down the drain and used my own tent or used the money for a nice hotel.

This was a last minute booking Lets start with good points. Cosy pub very old inside. Good cider, and breakfast was great. Full english and nice coffee. Cereals fresh orange juice. Staff friendly and the toilets was clean . Not good... Needed the toilet after walking to our Bell Tent . The toilet facilities was disgusting. Wooden building built on decking which was slippy. Four toilets all not very clean. All of them leaking. Two showers in the same room of the toilets. The tiles was coming of the ceiling and the wood was rotting. Mould and dirty in showers. Good, hot water. Bad , the sinks were not clean plus the walls too. Floor dirty and slippy. Disgusting!!! Bad, no lights to walk around . Walk ways needed strimming over grown uneven rock paths. I got stung with nettles just walking to the toilet block. Old green house tunnels full of weeds did not look good. You could not park next to your tent.Bad points with Bell tent, no steps to get up to the tent Tent was on raised decking which was very slippy. Over grown grass and hedge around it. Inside the tent was nit much better. Good points the bedding was clean and towels. Bad the bed had no head board and on the floor was a rough woven rug which apart from not being hooverd well was stained. Good Two chairs that was pull out single beds. Bad, no bedside tables and the only light was at the end off the bed ,so you had to get up to turn it off . One cup for making a hot drink. Good, kettle and coffee and tea, milk sugar. Hot water bottle. Bad, the cover was dirty so could not use it. Also out neighbouring tent. At about 12 pm started to argue. Swearing and cursing each other. This went on for about 1 hour. Then started again about 6 am. Ok i know thats out of the owners hands. Will never go again

Very easy to book. Excellent, well presented food. The staff are happy to ensure that you can enjoy exactly what customers want by making slight adjustments to the ingredients of a particular dish. Genuinely dog friendly.

I attended a family wedding, and chose glamping for three adults and a two year old. I have to say the staff were absolutely fabulous, and a credit to the owners. A very special shout out to Beautiful Bailey, who went above and beyond to provide blankets for us from her HOME, as there were none available and the temperature dropped early eve. She gets employee of the year for sure! An observation would be to sort the ground in places where there’s high traffic, as very muddy in places. But overall a wonderful experience, Thankyou:)

Service nearly one hour late from booking time. Roast beef a selection of gristle and sinews. Staff informed and shown the rubbish presented as “roast beef “ but just simpered “oh we’ll let someone know “. Full price charged for this very substandard meal. Such a shame as we have eaten well here on previous occasions but will not be returning and will let others know that standards have slipped so far.

Delicious, fresh and locally sourced meat best Sunday roast I have eaten in a long time. Beef & Pork Belly a winner. A hidden gem, local Ales what’s not to like. First time visiting & definitely returning you will not be disappointed. Welcoming bar staff

The food is far better in fact amazing than the pub and it’s grounds which need a major tidy up… It’s quite run down and needs investment but in the meantime a good attention to deal tidy up would make a great difference…

Stayed in a Glamping tent and loved everything about the whole 24 hours at the pub. Cannot say enough about the owners and staff. Even did lifts for all the guests to and from the concert at the arboretum. Well done Will and the team

We had a fantastic meal before staying the night at the campsite. The friendliest, most willing staff we’ve come across in a long time. They were smiley and helpful and the food was delicious! We stayed at the campsite which had excellent facilities- the pub offers a shuttle service to local events if needed which was a HUGE selling point and something we’re incredibly grateful for as it meant we could enjoy our day without the worry of booking a taxi. Thank you you much for a wonderful stay.

Popped in for Sunday lunch during a day out. Warm welcome from staff and good honest Sunday roast. I had their combined Beef/Pork and partner had beef. Good plateful of food and a decent pint and choice of wines. Nothing dazzlingly fancy but good honest pub grub - what not to like!

Brilliant lunch! Stopped here for a lunch after reading mixed reviews. I am very fussy so find it hard to stop without planning. Polite warm welcome and beyond the pub is a huge beautiful garden setting that is just perfect for a garden lunch. Sourdough fish finger sandwich and White bread fish finger sandwich with the fish perfectly cooked in a light batter with really well cooked chips. 10/10 definitely recommend we went here before visiting Westonbirt Arboretum where we walked and took in beautiful views also recomend if you enjoy the outdoors!

We stayed at the Holford Arms during Badminton HorseTrials in May. The room we were given was small but pleasantly furnished with a nice bathroom. Unfortunately the room was on the side of the pub with the main road beside it and as the bathroom heater was on full blast all night, we had to open the window. The room was too noisy to sleep at all for about five am, and the dial for turning down the heat in the bathroom had been removed. When I politely mentioned this to the person in the bar the following morning, she said the manager would call me that day. Three days passed with no call back. The second person I spoke to also expressed their regret and said that “room 4 is always noisy, next time we will give you a room at the side” She also said the manager would call, which he still has not. What a pity that the manager of the Holford Arms does not care for his customers, and lets his staff down.

We really loved the menu here, plenty of options for the vegetarians in our group. Would recommend!

Do not stay here. Sent numerous emails to them regarding our stay and didnt even have the courtesy to reply at all. Then sent an automated email asking had we enjoyed our stay. No!!!

Nice pub, pleasant staff, nice food, pity about some blokes dog sat at the bar, breaking wind that stank next to our table, not what you want when you are out with the wife and the chap actually told someone his dog has bad flatulance!!!!! First visit here and the last.

We were greeted by very friendly staff at this pub and there was a very warm and relaxing atmosphere. Food was very tasty and service was friendly and polite.Definitely would return again to this nice Cotswolds pub.

We were staying here for a few days, and decided to try the grub. We were absolutely not disappointed. We arrived on a wet autumnal Sunday, sat by the fire and had a roast dinner each. I had the pork, and was really glad to see it came with a Yorkshire pudding (places that only do them with beef - take note!). Lots of gravy, well cooked veg, and a portion of very boring green beans for the little one was spot on. The following evening we ate from the main menu and again, really very good hot fresh food. Highly recommend coming here to eat if you get the chance!

Fuimos a cenar con toda la familia. La comida estaba increible. Cervezas encantadoras, ambiente relajado encantador. No espere que las cosas se apresuren ya que todo sabía y parecía recién cocinado. El personal era encantador y lo pasamos muy bien. La zona del bar al aire libre parece increíble y la limpieza, etc. eran geniales. Recomiendo encarecidamente si estás en la zona. Nos estábamos quedando en Bell Tents, que también carecía de limpieza, las 2 sillas blancas tenían cubiertas, que claramente no se habían lavado. . . siempre.Los inodoros y las duchas no se mantuvieron limpios y también se deben a una actualización desesperada. Hay enchufes eléctricos junto al fregadero. . . es eso legal? No había papel higiénico en varias ocasiones, y aunque nos pidieron que desinfectamos las manos al entrar, no había desinfectante en el dispensador. El campamento tenía un contenedor de basura de tamaño estándar y estuvo lleno todo el tiempo, lo que provocó que se dejaran basura al lado, lo cual es desagradable a la vista.Llegamos a las 4 pm, que era la hora de registro, y tuvimos que esperar media hora para que nuestras carpas estuvieran listas, solo para descubrir que no estaban limpias.El gerente también fue bastante desagradable. Independientemente de lo anterior, ¡podría ser increíble! !

We came here to celebrate our anniversary, and we stayed for the night in the “Bell tent”We arrived to a very lively and welcoming atmosphere, the staff was very friendly and smiley (they managed to find us a spot for the dinner when everything was fully booked).The cleaning absolutely impeccable: toilets, tent and all the surrounding perfectly clean.Plenty of parking.And we loved the breakfast in our tent.Definitely worth to come back!

We have just returned from a two night stay at the Holford Arms. Although simple, our room was clean, quiet and comfortable with everything we needed. Along with a generous continental breakfast, it proved great value for money. The staff were all super friendly, and I get the impression nothing would be too much trouble, should we have needed anything. We also enjoyed dinner in the pub on both evenings and would definitely eat there again - delicious and huge portions.All in all, I couldnt fault them.

Me and my friends just visited for a weekend of camping at The Holford Arms, and what a weekend it was! The staff are phenomenal and so accommodating, we were treated like life long friends from the moment we arrived. Big thanks to Katie and Will for looking after us. The food is amazing, the setup is outstanding and the pints are cold - what more do you want!!Thanks so much for having us, see you again next year!

We visited The Holford Arms for a quiet break away together on the first weekend lockdown was eased. The staff at the pub and camping had done a stellar job preparing the place for a new socially distant way of working and we had a great stay. The chalet was better than we had expected from the photos with more space and facilities. There is a great outdoor area with a bar and pizza oven and plenty of seating with a friendly atmosphere. The roast was exceptional and not one to miss on a Sunday. We had a bit of tricky situation where we lost the keys for our car and Will came to our rescue and all staff were lovely throughout. A hidden gem we will visit again should we be in the area. The preserves we bought are still keeping us happy too!

We ate dinner twice whilst staying at the pub/hotel for 3 nights. Steak night on Monday (2 x big ribeyes + drink each for £35) was delicious and brilliant value. The second night we chose from the a la carte menu. Wide range of pub classics and burgers on offer, we had a lamb shank and burger and it was outstanding. Fresh, tasty, big portions. Perfect!

We booked two rooms via booking.com as we were going to a wedding reception nearby. Cost was almost £230 for the two rooms including breakfast and whilst it was a reasonable stay, this did see quite a lot. We received a friendly welcome to this small, local type pub and the rooms were clean and comfortable it nothing special. Breakfast was limited with a few cereals on a shared table and an offer of a full English but no options. The cooked breakfast was OK but included bacon but a low quality vegetarian sausage with no explanation or choice. Just seemed a bit off. Overall served a purpose but we are unlikely to return.

This is the fourth time I have visited this pub and every time the food has been excellent. 8 of us tipped up for Sunday lunch, unannounced, and they welcomed us without any fuss. They have an extensive menu (Value for money) and also have their own Pizza oven which throws out amazing pizzas when its lit up. The landlord and landlady couldn't be more helpful and accommodating - dogs and children welcome - nothing is ever a problem. Recommend The Holford as a hidden gem of an unspoilt natural country pub with plenty of character - if only more were like it!

After checking in for the evening, we decided to have a spot of dinner.Quickly seated we both ordered and after a little wait out came our food.I ordered the 21 day old steak having it medium rare.This came with a flat mushroom, tomato, 2 large onion rings and potatoes. I ordered some peppercorn sauce at a small cost of £1.50.My wife had the lamb shank, this was sublime, I tried a piece and it fell off the bone.For dessert we had chocolate brownies which were excellent and with 3 large glasses of wine and 2 pints of lager, this totalled a very respectable £75.My steak was as good as I have ever eaten I must add.The general atmosphere of the pub is what made our evening with friendly helpful staff and other customers who joked and laughed with everyone.A highly recommended homely dog friendly pub which cooks brilliant food.Visited 18th January 2020.

Realmente disfrutamos de nuestra visita a Holford Arms. Precioso pub tradicional con un fuego acogedor, apto para perros y brillante para los niños también. Nuestra comida fue impecable, sin pretensiones pero perfectamente preparada (hamburguesa de puerco desmenuzado era genial, al igual que los macarrones con queso y budines) y recibimos una cálida bienvenida y un servicio impecable. ¡Ya estamos planeando nuestro próximo viaje!

After a long cold but enjoyable walk around Westonbirt Arboretum, my boyfriend and I were looking for somewhere close by to warm up and get some food! Then we stumbled across this gem! It was a five minute drive from the arboretum, we parked up (the car park is on the small side but you wouldn’t have to wait long for someone to depart). The tables were packed, but we were delighted when the very friendly and attentive staff said we could eat at the bar. So we made ourselves comfortable and enjoyed one of the BEST Sunday dinners I’ve had in a long long time. We both had pork and it was succulent with a beautiful crisp crackling on top. I really couldn’t fault this place at all. You can book tables from what I over heard and I would definitely like to come back.

Primera visita a The Holford Arms hoy para el almuerzo del domingo con un par de amigos. Elijo la carne de res mientras mis amigos optan por pollo y cerdo. Todos disfrutamos muchísimo la comida (¡quería beber el resto de la salsa, estaba tan bueno!) Y el brownie de chocolate con malvaviscos y helado estaba para morirse! El pub en sí es un encantador pub campestre (con el fuego rugiente necesario), personal amable y buena selección de bebidas. Definitivamente visitaré de nuevo!

Fuimos en familia el domingo por primera vez y quedamos realmente impresionados. Es un pub apropiado donde los lugareños beben, los perros deambulan; además de servir comida realmente deliciosa. Nos quedamos realmente impresionados con el rosbif y el cerdo, así como los calamares que tuvimos. El servicio fue amable, eficiente y paciente con los niños. Ojalá hubiéramos llegado antes y pudiéramos leer los periódicos junto a la estufa de leña.

I booked lunch for Saturday afternoon for a family reunion on the basis of online reviews and a quick look at the menu. I had a call from the pub the day before warning that a pre-booked party of 40 were being brought inside as the weather was turning, and that service on the day may be delayed. I really appreciated the heads-up from staff, and as it turns out the delays weren't anything to worry about and the staff were all incredibly attentive given the packed pub. We had delicious meals (everyone had three courses!), and didn't feel rushed at all to end our afternoon. My family and I really had a fabulous afternoon at the Holford Arms for a very reasonable price. Thanks to all.

Fortunately we booked lunch; pub was heaving. Table released in 3 minutes and lunch ordered within 5 minutes. We all ordered the same meal which arrived with a VERY meagre helping of veg. After a complaint was raised the delightful and helpful waitress resolved the problem immediately(with profuse aoplogies). Now the meal was excellent! 4 satisfied customers. Not only that but our bill was reduced 10% without request. SERVICE!!

Stayed here for a 2 night break with my husband, as it was an ideal location for visiting Westonbirt Arbetorum. The room was cold as the heating was on a timer so when we went to breakfast the first morning, I asked if the heating could be adjusted to come on earlier in the morning - it wasn't done. We wanted to eat our evening meal in the pub but there was a limited menu made worse by 2 things having run out. However, all the staff were friendly & polite.

Stayed here for my partners birthday on the Saturday night. Didn’t do much research so booked on booking.com. But later found out would have been 5% cheaper booking with the hotel. The property is pretty remote and we were looking to go into Tetbury for dinner that evening but found out very hard to get a taxi. We decided to stay here for dinner which was a wise choice.

The negative reviews on this site seem to focus around the campsite. We went here for a Sunday lunch with children and grandparents. The dog was made to feel welcome. The pub was super cosy with a lovely log fire. The pub from the outside doesn't do the food offerings justice. The staff were friendly and helpful. Drink choices are great. They sell their own chutney and preserves behind the bar which is a lovely touch. There were lther children in the pub and was a nice friendly environment. The menu is small for Sunday lunch but for a good reason. They know exactly what they're doing. A kids option, meat of 3 choices and a vegetarian option. The Roast dinner was the best we've had at a pub. Generous size, meat cooked perfectly, decent Yorkshire pud and lashings of the most scrummy gravy. I had the beef, which was rare and so thinly cut it melted in the mouth. My partner had pork and said the entire crackling was delicious and raved about it for hours after. Our two boys shared desert and I'm glad they did as it was generous in size. A lovely relaxed afternoon, I do high recommend and will be back for more of that delicious beef.

My Husband and I attended a Wedding at the Holford Arms, the Venue was amazing, and ensured the bride and her husband to be had a spectacular day, all facilities were clean and well maintained, the food was fab ( I recommend the chocolate brownies for desert ! ) and the staff ensured the day passed without a hitch. There was plenty of space for mingling, dancing and general celebrations amongst some stunning countryside.

We visited last Sunday after going to the amazing Westonbirt Arboretum. We stoped off for food and were pleasantly surprised by how nice the beer garden at the back was, and how good the roast was. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

Stayed here for The Stereophonics at Westonbirt Arboretum in The Shack! A friend booked it and had no idea what to expect as all I was looking forward to was seeing the Stereophonics a short walk away! Weather forecast horrendous but log fire in bar, great Stroud brewery beer, fine wine list and FAB food overseen by lovely staff made this a top night! Accommodation brilliant too and even under floor heating! Hope the bands next year will entice me back but then again who needs the bands when this place is so fab and friendly!

We stayed at The Holford Arms in their Campsite for 4 nights. The facilities were great. Lovely clean loos and showers, 7 in total and a nice big patch to park van and pitch the kids tent. I did have to walk to the tap to fill our Van tank as it was too tight for me to reverse up to the only stand pipe by the polly tunnel but this a small complaint.

Despite the kindness of the staff, I regret to say the campsite is not very family friendly.

We booked to stay in a bell tent in September 2018 through booking.com as they were listed as dog friendly when glamping but not the pub rooms which was fine. Then checked with the pub directly to confirm it was ok to have the dogs and book a table for dinner. Had a good stay so Rebooked for a visit this weekend. We each drove 2.5hours to get here to be be told when we arrived that the tents aren’t dog friendly and never were and were turned away with a half hearted apology. Absolute disgrace that neither the manager or owner would bother to discuss with us. Left stranded without accommodation. Luckily found The Crown, Tolldown instead (only 10miles away), happy to have two dogs in their large bedroom and couldn’t do enough for us. Would highly recommend.

Nos alojamos en el Camping Holford Arms por tres noches durante el fin de semana festivo de finales de mayo. Cuando reservamos en el pub, no nos dieron un mapa del sitio que muestra las ubicaciones de los servicios y cuándo estarían cerrados por la limpieza, las bocas de incendio, etc. Finalmente encontramos un grifo de agua pero la presión del agua era muy baja y Tomó más de 15 minutos llenar el tanque de agua en nuestra caravana.

Este camping no estaba regulado en absoluto. Nos alojamos por tres noches durante el fin de semana festivo. Era muy ruidoso y más y más personas seguían llegando.

Bonito sitio pintoresco con instalaciones promedio. Lo bueno es la ubicación, lo malo no es suficiente duchas 3 para un sitio grande es impactante. Nadie vacía los contenedores del sitio, por lo que es un poco sombrío y se desbordan. En serio, te abarrotes y quiero decir en serio, como las sardinas. No hay patrullas para comprobar cualquier comportamiento antisocial. Parece ser un poco costoso hacer dinero para ser honesto, hay muchos otros sitios con mejores instalaciones.

Stayed midweek. Proper old English inn. Staff where very helpful and friendly. Was staying on my own because off work but staff and locals were great kept me entertained all night. Wish I had a van with me would of taken the bed back with me it was so comfortable. Definitely 10/10 for me. Would certainly stay again.

Food and drink good but expensive for pub food. Only to be expected given the proximity to Tetbury. Be aware that if you eat there you will not be able to stay at your table. You won't be told in advance that all the tables are reserved and you will be told (not asked) to move. One of the staff needs retraining in customer service. He told us as our meals arrived that we would have to move as soon as we had eaten, no please, no manners. When I asked if there was anywhere else we could sit he said we would be "thrown off" wherever we sat. I asked him again and he told me could go outside - in February? Really! A shame as this spoilt what had been a pleasant weekend. We won't be going back

Came for a Friday evening meal, arrived around 7pm, it was pretty busy with what looked like a motorcycle club eating (old guys!) and the bar busy too. Good atmosphere, got a table quickly and menus, waiting staff keen and quite funny and talkative. Interesting menu with most locally sourced. Good variety of drinks, I had the locally produced cider which came in a pint and bit bottle and was great - though two bottles might have been "bold" rather strong!

We couldn't call ourselves regulars but every time we visit we enjoy it. Good reasonably priced food, generous portions and an excellent selection of beers - what's not to like?

Visited for supper in November after seeing it had won award, writing review as was very disappointed! Ambiance nil. But more if drinking pub. Batman didn’t have much knowledge of menu which was not really to our taste, bit new good life and vegan type, very pleasant landlady but meal was just ok ish . Shame but definitely will not go back

I can't believe we've lived here so long and never been in before! We have really been missing out.

We've been here numerous times but tonight definitely was the best. The amazing staff were very accommodating, especially Ellie and Gem.
