The Holes Bay in Poole

Waited to be shown to our table (table prebooked). Waited another 10/15 minutes to be asked if we’d like a drink. Waited nearly half an hour til I got up and went to the bar to enquire where they were. Food served after about an hour. Missing salad which still never arrived after notifying the waitress. Overall, food ok but service was pretty terrible in a restaurant that was not overly busy.

1st time visit Sunday 23rd June 2024. Was here for Sunday lunch and was holidaying nearby in Holton Heath. When i booked i asked if it was a carvery and was told yes but it was served on a plate. Good choice of menu and price was ok, but the meat wasnt nice, the beef was very tough and stringy. the service was good. wouldnt go there for Sunday Lunch again, was disappointing.

My hubby, son and I visited for breakfast. When entering the guy behind the bar asked if we had prepaid. As we hadn't, he asked us to pay before showing us to our seats. He didn't ask what we were having he just assumed we were having the full world. Full English.....we had to wait for plates....there was no fried eggs....no hash browns. People were complaining the ran out of mugs....only 1 coffee machine was working. We were really disappointed. Won't be visiting again in a hurry.

Three of us popped in for Sunday lunch about a month ago. VERY slow service, undercooked vegetables, and tried to charge of for "large" even though no extra meat was served, nor pigs in blankets. Disappointing.

Popped on for an early dinner. Was told no food unless staying in hotel. We could have a drink and wait til 5. He was serving food while he told us this. The place was empty. We won’t bother again. Worst premier inn bar ever!

Three of us visited for lunch, we were put in the rear part of the restuarant, which is very tired... they had curtains at the window hanging down to our table and there decorative rail around the wall was broken off and the wall next to our table was scuffed and really could do with a re-paint... in fact that whole area could do with a refresh! There was a slight delay with the food, but our server, Taya was excellent, friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble for her... she really is an asset to Table Table! We ordered pie & mash / ribs & chicken and a lasagne... Taya served us a selection of condiments, we really enjoyed all the food and the ice cream deserts! Reasonable prices, decent food and excellent service from Taya... the only negative feedback would be to re-vamp that part of the restuarant, it does look worn and tired!

Today 30.4.24 we had an excellent lunch 3 x haddock and chips and 1 x katsu curry. Served by Kevin who was efficient, respectful and welcoming. Great place to lunch.

Early evening dinner, we were served by Sam who was Polite and attentive for the duration of our visit. The food was good value and cooked as requested.

Visited this restaurant for lunch with friends. From arrival to departure we were made very welcome and service was excellent. Jenny who was the server was brilliant and ensured we had everything we wanted . It was service with a "smile". She was efficient made us feel unhurried over the meal. The food was very good and served nice and hot and we were not rushed to finish. All staff were friendly and welcoming. We all really enjoyed our visit.

Our waiter Kevin was excellent. We had meat eaters, a vegetarian and an vegan and we all enjoyed really good meal. We will definitely go back.

Hate to start with this but I have worked within the restaurant trade for 13 years, so I know a bit about what I'm saying here... I waited at least 15 mins to be sat, only two parties in front of me. I had no acknowledgment from anyone while I was waiting, including what looked like a manager taking orders on the bar, the lady who sat the two parties before me and the older lady making drinks behind the bar. I was finally seen, I asked how long the wait was on food, I was informed '45minutes', I asked if they were really that busy or understaffed, because It just seemed like a casual Wednesday early evening, the lady said no she just sat a table of ten. I said well I'm ready to order right now, I was waiting long enough to decide what I wanted from there, quite frankly, boring menu, and surely as I'm just a table for one you would do that ticket first, this is the standard procedure in restaurants. Instead she said they do tickets one by one, I guess after thinking about it now, how many microwaves can one kitchen fit? Clearly I upset her with my questioning because she told me there is no table until 7:15, which was in an hours times. Tbh I get judged by how i'm dressed, I'm wearing tracksuits, I look young, so they might assume I wont tip? Not trustworthy? My hair was scruffy? Well your server was out of luck, as I tip generously if I have enjoyed the service. I wouldn't of written a review if they didn't have a laminated piece of paper groveling for only 5* star reviews as everything else is a detractor.

Visited here on Tues 23rd April 2024 for lunch,was greeted by the lovely Kevin,we were pleased to see him as he is THE best waiter there!! Always very pleasant, efficient and nothing is too much trouble. He took our orders and not long after came back with our chosen meals, both piping hot. Food here is always good can't fault it and Kevin is a credit to this company and certainly deserves a mention. Keep up the good work Kev we will be back!!

Today l was served by Caz who was very polite, courteous and very professional in her manner towards fulfilling my requirements at dinner. I look forward to my future visits.

Had a roast dinner. It was disgusting. Came out cold sent back for it to severed again same food after microwaved. Not even fresh vegetables. All frozen veg apart from carrots. Parsnips was so hard could not cut or bit. Overall experience is disappointing
