Great bar been here a few times for drinks. Great service and atmosphere

This is the best pub in hillsborough, the atmosphere , the clientele and above all the staff are fantastic , I have been coming here to the music quiz Wednesdays for a while which are so much fun , and got to know the staff , so when it came to my best friends 50th there was nowhere else I would want it, The barstaff went above and beyond and did all the decorations , food , it was amazing and a good night was had by all . Whatever you want whether be a chilled drink, or to take part in the fun music quiz followed by karaoke or a good old party , this is the place to be . A big thank you to janine , terresa and all the staff .

The real ale is over priced let's be honest,.£4.20 for a 3.6% ale is ridiculous. And it sits there that long cos folks won't pay it that it's way past its best if you have a pint. An example was the Abbeydale beer on this evening. Yes I should have sent it back,.but why aren't the staff checking the ales are not on the turn? ....oh that's right cos its £4+ a pint.

We visited for a private function the staff were friendly and very efficient. A good choice of drinks and the buffet was excellent

I was here before the football with my family and couldn’t help but have my experience ruined by some of the rudest bar staff I’ve ever seen. Staff being really rude and aggressive towards young lads over them trying to enjoy themselves. Absolutely no attempt made to be polite about the situation. Would not recommend, a horrible pub with horrible staff

Lots of nobheads in on a weekend, staff have no control, won't be going back, takes ages to get served, and they don't serve in order, bad service

Been coming in the tap for years even when it was legends, always been welcomed with a smile and a chat. Nice calm place to have a quiet drink with friends or on your own. Family's are welcome too. The sisters keep the place clean and tidy, it's always up to date with the deco! Not heard of any troubles in there for years.

Great pub, friendly atmosphere with amazing staff. Was really busy and staff was able to keep up with service. Great drinks you pay for what you get and that’s top tier alcohol. If luckily enough to be in Hillsborough please visit I recommend highly for anyone looking for a great pint and conversation.

Best bar in Hillsborough by a country mile. They have the best friendliest staff and a brilliant selection of drink, Alcoholic normal run of the mill, specialty beers, pump cans and non alcoholic drinks. Great music, fab atmosphere, very welcoming and the service is the best I’ve ever received. Now a firm favourite. Well done, keep up the good work.

Very overpriced, very poor service, if your face doesn't fit then they ignore you at the bar, they don't deserve custom, badly run dive with snotty bar staff

Started going in for the last 3 months the actual bar is absolutely spotlessly clean the drink is a little bit dearer than the other pubs round there but you don't mind paying a little bit more when it's a good pint the young lass behind the bar Theresa is really polite and good host got the best TVs sky sports nd definitely the best music what more could you want🎶🎶😁😁

Awesome staff, awesome pub quiz!

Fairly large bar on a busy corner. The bar has additional seating upstairs and a small outdoor area. Good choice of real ales from Serious Brewery and Wilde Child. I had a good pint of Mystic & Godiva from Serious.

Plenty of screens to watch the horse racing. The customers and staff seemed pleasant enough. It was a quiet and comfortable place to stop off and enjoy a stout. I will check in again the next time I pass through that area.

Decent place for a quick drink!

In Hillsborough centre more of a sports bar but everyone welcome three or four real ales along with a vast array of keg lagers etc and craft ales. Not everyone's cup of tea but I like it.

My twin brother Stephen and I decided to jump the tram from Sheffield City Centre to Hillsborough and one of the first pubs we visited was The Hillsborough Tap. Loved the look of this bar ,a lovely light and airy interior, pubby decor and furnishings including a solid wood serving bar that dominates the main room and there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar, its a cool bar to unwind in. We were here on a Wednesday late afternoon, a very pleasant member of the bar team greeted us with a smile, we ordered Bradfield Brewery farmers blonde ,these ale's were served in pristine condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular bar. My ale was so good ,a hoppy but not overhopped ale ,hints of toffee and a slight bitter finish, a lovely ale that on a really hot afternoon was just so thought thirst quenching. We both really enjoyed our ale's in here, only stayed for the one each before we moved on and for a first time visit to The Hillsborough Tap we were totally impressed. The Hillsborough Tap is easy to locate along Langsett Road. Opening hours are; Monday & Tuesday, Closed. Wednesday to Sunday, 11am till 11pm. A great bar,most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

The Hillsborough Tap on Langsett road is a really good craft beer bar that offers a fantastic range of cask and craft beers and is in a fantastic area of Sheffield were there are some great pub's and bars. We had just visited the Rawson Spring a fantastic Wetherspoons pub and while walking around this area went in here for a few beers. The Hillsborough Tap has a nice well kept interior with excellent seating options throughout the bar interior and very friendly staff. We came here early in the afternoon and this bar was fairly empty.When here we had a look at the beer selection on offer and decided to have one of there cask ales which was a Bradfield brewery Farmers Blonde a superb local beer which where well served and priced. The Hillsborough Tap is a great craft beer bar on Langsett road and well worth visiting and is really easy to find from Hillsborough tram stop its a few minutes walk. (This is my first review of the Hillsborough Tap). Opening Hours. Monday-Tuesday-Closed. Wednesday-Friday-11.00-23.00. Saturday-10.00-23.00. Sunday-11.00-23.00. Nearest Tram Stop. Very, very disappointed on my first visit. Said to be a real ale venue - only 1 on hand pull, a dark 3.7 session ale at £4 A PINT or overchilled/overpriced Keg!!! C'mon, get real. Don't think I'll be popping in again ☹

We wanted to watch the South Africa v Lion's match, left another pub because they persisted to play loud music. At half time we moved to the Tap, when play resumed after half time they also persisted with the music at a level which made it impossible to have a conversation with someone on the same table. I went to complain to the bar staff, I was pointed to Janine Lawson, I explained that the noise levels were excessive and in breech of the Noise at Work Regulations "Employers' responsibilities - Legal duties What do the regulations require you to do? The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 (Noise Regulations 2005) require employers to prevent or reduce risks to health and safety from exposure to noise at work. Employees have duties under the Regulations too. The Regulations require you as an employer to: • Assess the risks to your employees from noise at work; • Take action to reduce the noise exposure that produces those risks; • Provide your employees with hearing protection if you cannot reduce the noise exposure enough by using other methods; • Make sure the legal limits on noise exposure are not exceeded; • Provide your employees with information, instruction and training; • Carry out health surveillance where there is a risk to health." I was asked to leave and the staff applauded as I left. I suggest some re-training may be required, at all levels. If you value your hearing you may like to explore alternative venues!

Staff rude. Don't follow restrictions. Worse pub down Hillsborough by a mile. Don't go in here unless you want to put up with the rude staff have been in a couple of times thinking it was maybe a one off but it really isn't the staff don't care about the customers.

Enjoyed the football here as ot was the euros when England got through to the final. Great night

Recommend booking a table for your visit. Table service by the friendly staff, background music at a reasonable level so you can still hold a conversation. A good experience in these times.

Great landlady and friendly staff make you very welcome

Had a terrible experience at this place. I’d eaten here before and thoroughly enjoyed it. But recently it was very disappointing. When trying to purchase my food I’d been told that they had sold out (that’s fine btw). I was then told they had ‘found some’. So I ordered two of the meals for me and my partner. On arrival it was quite clearly 1 portion split into 2. When I complained about the meal (barely a child’s portion) I got told that, that was how it comes. When I pointed out I went last week I was told the menu had changed, conveniently. I refused to pay for the meal and was told I would be compensated by email which also hasn’t arrived.

This place was a lot more friendly and less hipster than I had imagined. Good beer (an interesting, local cherry stout I hadn't tried before) at a good price. Some very quirky decor (look up when you are near the bar!). In short, really enjoyed our visit.

Good atmosphere but I'm sorry to say the beer is terrible. Other half and friend had hobgoblin and both through up straight away, it was their first drink.
