The High Tide in Brighton and Hove

Went to Brighton for a day out and had a great time at High Tide, We were a family group of 10 adults & children having food and drinks. The staff were courteous and helpful throughout our visit. We had a range of food - starters, fish & chips, burgers & chips. The food was nice and everyone enjoyed their meal. Would definitely recommend trying and would visit again. Called in High Tide for a beer and a snack and it just nice, ordered spicy chips & vegetable spring rolls, spot on hot food and great friendly service, great location overlooking the beach & pier.

Absolute brilliant live acts on a Friday afternoon, shame I don’t remember their names but there was a girl singer sooooo good and then this young boy came on after her in a shirt and tie (we didn’t know what to expect) he sang and played guitar he was brilliant! We were only stopping for a quick drink but ended up staying for nearly two hours as the vibe was great

Lovely location right next to the pier. Exactly what we needed when we were walking along the beach. The food was good and there was a wide range of options and the staff were all very helpful and brought our dog some water when we requested. Overall a very nice place to stop off if you're on holiday in Brighton.

Visited on Sunday 14 July for lunch and ordered fish and chips. The portion size was mean. The chunky chips had a perfect colour, however they were hard and undercooked - al dente. The was slightly undercooked and quite tasteless. And the portion of peas was barely an eggcup full. A disappointment.

Nice location on the beach, and the service was good. Visited here just for drinks and were given a menu. Went to the bar and ordered, but the bill seemed high. Upon querying it, we were told that the menu prices are wrong, real prices are higher, but they haven't printed new menus yet. No mention was made of this when they gave us the menu though. Prices are high with a small bottle of water being £3.60.

Disappointing for the price. Teriyaki Salmon - was just salmon on a plate (no garnish, veg, side or anything). The Teriyaki came in a sauce pot. Burger was plain. Salmon, Burger, chips & one diet coke was £34. No cutlery' had to ask. Then we had to go looking for salt and pepper & ketchup. When we finished, no napkins again had to go looking. Toilet was out of order. Seemed a LOT of staff around, but all too busy talking to each to bother actually serving us. Shame as a lovely location & could be a really.great opportunity for someone.

me and my family came here for lunch everyone was so lovely, the food was amazing , music was on point and it was tidy and clean, in general a lovely place, 100% recommend.

What an absolute shambles from start to finish. The most disorganised place i've ever been to. The person who served us didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing! There were 3 tables where people were seated but they kept trying to take our menus off of us before we had finished with them. We had our order taken on a bit of till receipt as the staff member said they couldn't find a pad to do it on even though they just had one in their hand. The food was ok. The batter on the fish was very oily. Before we had all finished eating they tried to take our plates away which in my eyes is extremely rude. I would never go again and i certainly wouldn't recommend it!

Lovely staff, friendly welcoming and brilliant spot right near the peir. Had chicken really light batter seasoned well. Even had a cheeky cocktail. Overal great lunch.

Long queue for 1 toilet. The disabled toilet had an out of service sign, but staff were using it constantly. One of the two ladies cooking was wearing rubber gloves, which she used for everything, including cooking, eating her own food and grabbing food to put on plates. Untied hair.If you don't want people to see, don't have an open kitchen.. The food brought to our tables looked awful. Everything came out of big frozen bags. The outside setup looked nice, and that is why we ended up there, but the food itself was way below standard. Also, one of the waiters was criticising a lady who asked him to open the locked toilet, saying that if she did not want to wait, it was her choice and she should have left. -tall black waiter. Oh, and they got our drinks wrong, as I paid for 2 bottles of diet coke, but we got draft pepsi instead, which was cheaper.

Locale davanti al Pier in bellissima location. A Brighton le cucine sulla spiaggia chiudono prestissimo, qua invece abbiamo cenato (bene) anche dopo le 9:30. Staff molto cordiale e cortese.

Nice fish and chips by the marina. Good out door seating area and great fish and chips. Good value and good selection of drinks. Can’t complain.

We came at midday and had a lovely cocktail jug and so decided to come back to finish our day in Brighton and unfortunately we did not have the same experience. Our jug was brought over and it was the wrong drink. We explained that it was wrong and it was taken away. The receipt was printed and brought over to us to 'prove' what we ordered. I explained how that wasn't a possibility because the wrong drink that we were brought had an option of alcohols, the one we had wanted/ordered, didn't, so, had I been asked at the till 'which spirit did you want', I'd have known that it was the wrong drink being put through. I explained this to the server who said 'i didn't know that there was those options for the other cocktails' then 'okay, I'll deal with this but there's no need to be...' and he walked off before we could hear the final word. At no point were we rude, we merely stated how it was an error on their part and couldn't have been on ours, due to the spirit options. The manager brought over the replacement drink and was very understanding. Its a shame we weren't met with 'sorry for the mistake' the first time.

This is a great place to go with friends, service was great and the waitresses where lovely. Food came out fast and such a lovely view. Would recommend!

All I can say is, thank goodness for the High Tide Restaurant in Brighton. We were there on July 22nd, 2023, with a group of over 100 international students for take out, when the weather turned rainy and extremely cold. The manager (Michele, if I recall is her name) went to great lengths to accommodate our very large group inside and outside her establishment. Further, the fish and chips were excellent! Three Cheers to the High Tide staff. Thank you so very much for all you did for us that day.

The food was amazing and was at a very reasonable price. Staff were also very friendly. Would highly recommend.

My family with young kids were on our way to this bar along the seafront (dawdling with youngsters) so my 13 year old and I rushed ahead as she was desperate for the loo. On arrival we were accosted by the manager who demanded to know where we were going and rudely told us we weren’t his costumers so were not permitted to use the facilities and my daughter was not allowed to join the massive queue. We ended up buying drinks of course because of my poor daughter however we didn’t linger as the sour faced manager put us off. Also the toilet facilities were disgusting. It seems if you have a prime beachfront location you obviously don’t need to bother making an effort with being welcoming or having clean toilets. Won’t be back, plenty of much nicer, friendlier places with the views.

Prices are fair, service is quick, staff are hospitable, cocktails are one of a kind. My personal favourite would be their pina coladas. You can immediately tell they use good liquor and is definitely a bargain for the price they sell it at. Faboulous!

Enjoyed our time at High Tides with really nice fish nuggets with light batter and nicely seasoned. Atmosphere at outside seating lovely right on beach next to the pier. Prices comparable with others in the area.
