Me and my partner decide to give this place a visit having read the positive feedback and wasent disappointed at all service was 1st class and food was also served promptly after ordering

Great options for gluten free. Tends to get busy on evenings, and when there is a concert on at the Open air theatre, so pre booking is advised! Blue light card is accepted here too !

Beautiful food and a nice vibe - portion sizes are huge though!

We called in whilst in the area due to the inviting exterior. Once inside we realised they were deceptively busy with several large parties. We fully anticipated to wait a while for food, but were astonished at the speed in which we were served. Not only was the service speedy, but incredibly welcoming and attentive. The only aspect which exceeded the fabulous service was the food. To say we enjoyed it was an understatement! There was an excellent selection of beers to choose from, and we even topped off the evening with a cheeky tequila. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area, or a drive if you’re not! 100% would recommend!

Clash of the Titans, Burger. Well.... The staff are amazing, so helpful and so friendly. The food was absolutely on point, I'm the person that finds fault in everything but this time I can't. Everything was cooked perfectly. I had a dead mans finger cocktail which was fantastic. Will definitely be going back here.

All bar one enjoyed their meals. The service was quite slow, but it was very busy. I think personally that it's a bit overpriced for what it is. The coleslaw was good. The brisket meal was too spicy me but my partner loved it.

Had a lovely pepperoni pizza plenty for 2 and the best skinny fries ever today and my grandson loved the biscoff milkshake.

Update two years on and the food is just as good. Some of the best American style cooking I've had in the UK, highly recommended! --------------------------- Bring a healthy appetite!! Saw this on Google maps a short distance from the park and we're very glad we popped by. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and huge portions of really good food. Loads of gluten free options for me too, love it!

I visit Scarborough North Bay regularly, and I wish I'd found out about this little gem earlier. Relaxed, friendly, good beer, great food and lovely staff. Dog friendly too!

First time been here since it changed hands decided to come and have some food Tuesday night before the movie . Food was beautiful the pizza was amazing. Took a while like over 40 minutes didn't seem that busy but could of been short staffed . Oh well if you're short you're short can't be helped . the new decor was amazing. Was so weird to not see it historically kitted out . But there was some funky stuff in there .

Went to the Hideout for meal prior to James concert. Great vibe to the place and very busy but they had plenty of cheerful staff and we didn’t have to wait long for our meal. Great choice and quality of food was excellent. Will definitely return on our next trip to Scarborough. Book ahead and if you want to leave a tip take cash as the card system doesn’t allow.

Came here before a James gig food too much of it, ale too much of it. Pulled pork deserves a special mention along with the onion rings & the halloumi. Staff are excellent❤️

What a lovely meal we've had, the portions are fantastically sized, the prices are reasonable, the kids stayed engaged and for picky little buggers they really enjoyed the food. Very good gluten free selection too. Really accommodating staff. Very happy.

if you are anywhere near this place don't pass it by, great menu and the food and service is quality, I would recommend booking

food was amazing the staff and service could not of been worse! Started with a waitress shouting "theres one in the back corner" at us as she walked away, stood at the bar 10 mins to ask for the tables we'd booked, seated with menus, same waitress came back with what can only be described as denim pants on, both bum cheeks were out of the bottom of her shorts, it may be wasm but it was extremely unprofessional especially in a restaurant environment. Food was lovely very well cooled and season even came quicker than expected. No vista to che k everything was OK. Sat with empty plated for a good 15 mins before asking for the bill and for my left overs to be wrapped up, she came back with a box, threw it on the table with a "there you go" for me then to wrap up my own. Again food brilliant but completely let down by the teenage waiting staff with no clue!

We were staying up the road and decided to go for something to eat as we had just arrived, 8 of us. I checked the times but unfortunately when we got there they had turned off the oven as it was quiet. We did return the following lunchtime and all ordered various things from the menu. I had the chicken gyro…… it was enormous, a bit overwhelming and also a bit dry. However most enjoyed what they had and everything looked good. I would recommend but beware the large portions. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Disappointed with this cafe. We went for lunch. It was not very busy and seemed to have a few front of house staff, but tables were sticky, no napkins on ours or others table ( we heard other guests asking for same. Food was very average. Nothing special.

A stones throw away from peasholm park, this place is a little gem. It has a nice outdoor area to eat and drink but if you sit outside you need to go to the bar to order. The menu has a good selection of pizzas, burgers and trays with things like pulled pork, mac and cheese and beef brisket. My partner ordered the Mac and cheese burger - their burgers come with chips and their "homeslaw". The Mac and cheese burger was loaded with Mac and cheese, more on the Mexican side of Mac and cheese as far as taste. My partner enjoyed it very much, I also tried it and it was delicious. I had the chilli con carne burger which again was loaded with chilli con carne. Everything tasted great. The fries are also really nice. The portion sizes are extremely generous so you won't leave hungry and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. Drinks are a little on the expensive side at £6 for an old mout cider but drinks are usually pricey when out at a restaurant. The service is great, the staff are really personable and relaxed. I would definetly recommend the hideout cafe if you're in the area and want something a little less touristic.

Really good music themed bar and diner. Perfect Madness playlist on the night of their gig at the Open Air theatre. Deserves to do well. Tasty lamb kofta and burgers, good range of beers. Friendly staff.

Brilliant place to eat, generous portions and super dog friendly. We'll definitely be back. Boublis the English Setter was incredibly impressed with his large dog treat and says thank you for being so lovely to him.

Birthday meal 3rd June: I arrived and was greeted by amazing customer service staff, smiles all around, especially after they worked hard yesterday true warriors, dedicated, hard-working always well tidy, clean, and very fancy, and I just love the decor it's like such a nice place to escape so unique I enjoyed the meal perusal, with no complaints, and the chips are so much nicer, and we're lush - thank you guys - also embarrassed me.. no never 🫣😅 I loved it it was so cute. The little cake & candle Nobody else does it like you guys, such a family, friendly place! Providing the best service that you did that day and yesterday. I couldn't have asked for a better day or had that anywhere else. You guys are just absolutely the best & amazing!! Can't wait to try the tapas food Update: Trying the tapas food The bread & dips were delicious. I would have them again in the summer. The cucumber dip was so fresh and tasty that it would be perfect for the summer. It was very mouthwatering, and I also loved the homemade bread, loving the dishes on the new Menu 😋

Absolute gem of a find in Scarborough the food amazing the staff the best polite helpful top marks to them all for excellent customer service,we dropped in on the Sunday for a couple of beers and watched the meals being delivered to customers and looked amazing so Monday we went in and on the recommendation of the ladies that worked there we ordered chilly nachos and my partner had clucking chicken burger oh and potato tots and wow we weren’t disappointed it was fresh cooked and delicious I can’t recommend this place enough to be honest and should have taken pictures of the food to start with 🥰

We booked a table for 12 adults and 3 kids Great table for us all to be seated and chat Games on hand for kids to play Great atmosphere great service good selection of drinks. After ordering 15 meals most different The food came out hot and all together So we all ate together. Will be going back

We visited twice, for breakfast and an evening meal. The food was delicious and accommodated for food intolerances. The staff appeared busy but friendly. Great background music and atmosphere. Unfortunately they could not add a tip by card so we recommended spare cash for a tip. We would definitely eat here again.

Came in with the family for a meal out whilst staying in Scarborough and was pleasantly surprised. Interior was tasteful and modern, menu was varied for kids and adults and the staff were extremely helpful, welcoming and up for a laugh. (Amy and Laura we FANTASTIC!!!) The food was fantastic, fairly priced and good portions. Recommend to anyone staying in the area or just passing through!!! THANK YOU!

Good atmosphere and the decor are worth the trip to explore and spot all the trinkets. Breakfast avo and eggs on toast was weird, very cirtus cheap neon guacamole and grey dry eggs. On a seperate occasion enjoyed the pizza and iced coffee.

Disappointing breakfast- went on a Sunday morning. Service poor- staff seemed inexperienced and looked fairly miserable, weren't particularly friendly. Coffee average. Avocado and scrambled eggs was actually guacamole and strange eggs. Large portion though. Ambience quite strange- not really clear what it's trying to be- some quirky items, but some football, some Beatles. Trying to be fancier than it is.

Plenty of front of house staff stood near the bar so we assumed they were ready for a busy day. Waited 45 mins for a main and side despite only a few tables being in and not busy at all. Only one table before us too. Food average but portions are generous... Good if you just need a fuel boost without the finer details. The prices aren't 'cheap' so it's always nice to walk away with a full stomach. Chicken wings are avoidable... Supermarket basics cooked with little seasoning and sauce on after which reminded me of a home ametuer attempt. Pizza toppings are good and matched the price paid. Average food but a pleasing setting (even with Henry the Hoover accompanying the date!)

Had a great few days at the hideout.The atmosphere ,food ,service was amazing . The owner and staff made us so welcome even producing a cake for Babs ( one of our party ) to celebrate her birthday. I would highly recommend a visit , we will definitely return on our next venture/get together .Thank you

Had a meal out with my Husband. We both had a pizza with a portion of Chips. The food was delicious and tasted so fresh. The staff were lovely and welcoming. We cant wait to go back and try more of the menu.

We enjoyed the atmosphere in this quirky restaurant, the menu choices were great and the staff were lovely unfortunately we weren't that impressed with the food itself, to be fair though we were with another couple who really enjoyed there's. The kids found the pepperoni was too spicy but the burger got a big thumbs up. The mac and Cheese was alright but a bit stodgy. So to sum up, lovely place nice staff and we had mixed reviews on the food so give it a go.

Amazing food, good portion sizes, everything tasted amazing and everyone was happy with their food as well as the quick service. The staff were lovely and welcoming even though we went just before closing, they were friendly, chatty and happy, and frequently checked to see if the food was all okay and if we needed any condiments. We found The Hideout and Google maps and it ticketed all the boxes for what everyone wanted. All the staff were accommodating for our needs and friendly. We ordered a variety of different meals from the menus from half rack of ribs, pizzas, chicken gyros burgers plus extra sides. All were delicious and not a bad word to say about the food. It seemed reasonably priced especially for the portion sizes. The ribs looked the best meal…the size of them was something else. I had my hopes set on a desert but just couldn’t fit any more in. I would definitely recommend and would visit again when in the area.

I like going here, there's so much interesting stuff to look at, the food is great (huge portions) and the service is some of the friendliest in the area. And dogs are very welcome; they have their own menu!

This cafe has clearly changed hands since we last visited 2 years ago, which is unfortunate because it's not as good as it was. When we went in today and it looked like they were having some promo/marketing photos done, which meant a large table was out of service, which isn't great in the daytime. In fairness, we were shown to a table by a friendly waitress, and our order quickly taken. We opted for a brisket pizza and some chips, but the waitress came back to say it wasn't available and gave us some options. We decided on the pepperoni one. Unfortunately, the pepperoni was quite chewy, and there was a lot of oregano on the pizza. The chips were clearly frozen ones, which was disappointing. I noticed that shortly after we'd been seated, another couple came in, but they were left standing in the doorway for a time before being shown to a table. When I went to the counter to pay, there were two guys there who obviously had something to do with the cafe, and they just stood chatting. One of them eventually asked if I wanted anything, and I said I just wanted to pay. They would have been better chatting out of the way of customers. All in all, it was a disappointing experience in comparison with how the previous owners had the place, and we both said we wouldn't go back.

The Hideout was our planned meet-up location as a group of friends, and it definitely lived up to expectations. Firstly, the overall atmosphere of the Hideout is great! Very casual place with a beach-bar vibe, relaxed music that’s not overbearing, and plenty of memorabilia dotted around. It really does feel like you’re somewhere other than on a typical Scarborough street! Secondly, the food is quite tasty. Prices are relatively decent given the popularity of this seaside town, especially for the Garlic Bread which is a huge homemade affair! Our only quibble was with the BBQ pulled pork, which whilst tasty, could have used being a stronger flavour. Overall though, we were quite happy with our meal. Finally, the service at the Hideout was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive, without being overly invasive or pushy, and served us in a timely fashion. They were clearly happy working together, and enjoyed doing their jobs. Definitely worth a visit and we will certainly be back in the future!

Popped in here on our way through Scarborough. Funky little cafe, great food and lovely welcoming staff. My husband and I had full breakfast and the boys shared a plate of dirty eggs, which were really tasty and a huge portion. Parking was a bit scarce, but we were there on a bank Holiday weekend.

You wait a long time for your food then missing our eggs had to ask for them very dissapounted

Service was fine, the staff were friendly. The pizzas however were laughably bad. I ordered the double pepperoni and there was as much grease as there was pizza. Unfortunately the grease ended up on my clothes. The base of the pizza was their own thing apparently, Lord knows what they put in it but it was far more BBQ than Tomato, there's absolutely no need to get clever with the pizza base, keep it simple. There was no atmosphere to be spoken of. All in all very disappointing.

Absolutely amazing food & service, I would 100% recommend visiting Hideout. We had a mix of starters, mains & drinks everything was sooooo tasty 🤤 We didn’t feel rushed away once we had eaten neither which was good! 10/10😊

If one craves slow cooked meats, burgers and pizzas, this is the place to go. On a break to Scarborough and staying just up the road from The Hideout, we thought we'd give it a try, and we are so glad we did. The cafe bar has interesting decor, eclectic background music which isn't intrusive, and a lovely friendly atmosphere. We were warmly greeted and served by a very pleasant young woman, who remained attentive throughout. The food and drink menu is extensive. I had the Mac'n' Cheese Burger and my wife had the Pulled Brisket Tray. The meat in both meals was succulent and tasty. The perfectly cooked fries were plentiful. Overall a great meal. Highly recommended.

We visited the Hideout with friends and had a really good time. When we arrived we were greeted with a smile, and when our food came out it was hot, plentyful and very tasty, my hubby also had a milk shake which looked amazing. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the next day for a lovely breakfast, which was equally as nice. I highly recommend a visit to the Hideout, you won't be disappointed.

Arrived this evening for a birthday meal with my partner. Amy was welcoming and accommodating from the start. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was OUTSTANDING you need to visit this! We will definitely be back!

Been wanting to come here for a while having followed the Facebook page for some time. What can I say, absolutely phenomenal! Well laid out, lovely atmosphere and staff. The prices are very reasonable for the quality. Hands down the best food I’ve ever had and wasn’t the only one in our party of 6 to say so. I personally took a risk on the PBJ burger and glad I did, absolutely gorgeous! We will be back again!

Lovely place, food really good, but the reason for a four star was only because I was out faced, we would definitely go back. The toilets were lovely and clean, staff were very friendly.

A really incredible restaurant that serves lovely food at a fair price. I've been here twice, had the Heisenburger both times, both times absolutely loved it! The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great. It's been so good that both times I forgot to take pictures!
