Great food, great place. Fantastic and fast service from Megan and Izzy. Nice atmosphere and personality with well thought out decorations.

First time visit for us, as word of mouth was good and as local people thought we’d go see for ourselves. But it wasn’t great from the get go to be honest. We got in and found a table straight away which was good there were other people in there but it wasn’t over busy and there were still plenty of available tables. The waiter then came and took our drinks order 1xtea and 1x de- caff coffee and a Diet Coke to have with the food, waiter comes back no de-caff coffee available said they couldn’t get any from the local cash and carry. We then ordered our food just 2 English breakfasts, I have a allergy to one of the items on the breakfast but there was no offer to replace the item with another item instead which I find in most other places. We then waited almost an hour for the food to arrive , was told the toaster was broken so we were served very pale bread and after all that the food was only just warm, not nice at all and really not worth waiting an hour for or the money.

Texts ranger burger was excellent. Fast and friendly service from the staff. Reasonable prices and oh my God the key lime pie!!!!

Very disappointing visit Very small and overcooked burger. Chef advised all burgers are weighed and are identical, but 3.5oz isn't very big (especially when overcooked). Waitresses took it away and I waited for the replacement but it never came.

Found this gem of an eaterie on walk with dog to Peasholme Park. Just popped in for coffee ☕ but got an amazing flatbread topped with gorgeous mixture of salad n ham n pickles n mustard sauce. Lovely place with friendly staff so left a happy man

Very rude male staff member made this a bad experience. We booked online and when we arrived, we were shouted at across the pub saying we’re not doing food, which shocked ourselves and the other guests. I explained we booked online, so he marched us through to the back of the restaurant and gave us some menus. He then waited at the end of our table until we ordered making us feel uncomfortable. He then left us without our drinks until the waitress reminded him we’d ordered them. We arrived at 5 and he said he wanted us gone by 6 because it’s quiz night and we’d be in the way. Why take the booking if you can’t accommodate us. This man is rude and obnoxious and ruined our evening, I wish I had of walked out when he first shouted at us. Food was nice on plus side, but made to taste bitter from this man’s attitude. My recommendation would be to update your website or a certain staff member.

Visited whilst in Scarborough with the family for the weekend (2 adults, 2 teens and our family pooch). Immediately seated and asked if we wanted water for the doggo 🥰 The chicken strips and burgers were all excellent. I highly recommend the extra crispy fries 😋 Dssserts were lovely, too. Good value for money, excellent service 👏 VERY impressed. Thank you 😊

Great place to stop for a qucik drink or a full meal - even with little ones. We are local and regularly drop in for a drink and make use of the card/quiz games. When visiting in larger groups with kids, they are made to feel welcome too and the games section is a winner!

The service was not the best but ok. We had to ask for cutlery and also had to ask for them to take our order. The food was really nice though

First visit to The Hideout and it was very enjoyable. Six of us plus a large Golden Retriever were welcomed with a smile and shown immediately to our table. The burgers, pizzas and sides were all excellent. Sadly, as the portions were generous, we did not have room for desserts. A good variety of drinks for all the family completed our order. Despite the restaurant being exceptionally busy on a beautiful, sunny evening the service from Megan and Helen was friendly and efficient. We had a great time - thank you.

Fabulous food and attentive waiters

Beautiful food, waiter was absolutely brilliant. The place was unique and warm and had loads for the kids to do, board games and computers so loads to keep the kids busy. Jordan was outstanding there was 15 of us and all food was served together was delicious and warm x

Mum brought us here as it’s her favourite bar in Scarborough. We came in hot with 2 dogs, pram & baby and three adults, getting a lovely greeting from Chris & Jordan who helped find us a perfect spot. We had a couple of rounds of beers and two pizzas (the goat’s cheese one is a MUST). The place is decked out with cool music and football memorabilia, service is great and the team are up for a good laugh. Would highly recommend!

Stopped in for lunch Ordered pizzas and a burger with drinks. They came out quickly and were super tasty. We came in with three small children and there were lots of games/toys to pick from to keep the kids entertained. Would highly recommend, lovely spot.

My 3 sons and I ate at Hideout yesterday and I would highly recommend it. Megan and Jordan were friendly, accommodating to young children and helpful to change our order to suit dietary requirements. The food was delicious and very good size portions.

First time at the Hideout. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Burgers and chicken strips were really good washed down with a few drinks. Nice easy going atmosphere. Nice that it's dog friendly for families ( nobody has to miss out ). We will definitely return on our next trip to Scarborough 👌

Only small airline type bottles of wine. Food not great. Although the beef patty in the burger was homemade, it was bland. Rosemary fries just sprinkled with dried Rosemary rather than fresh. Wouldn't return.

Lovely, friendly place. Atmosphere of the place was nice and chilled. Food was fantastic. Totally recommend the chicken parmo and the burgers. The onion rings were also spot on as we're homemade . I would highly recommend

This place is great for the kids! Service was great, we was a table of 8 and nothing took too long or was too much trouble for Jordan and Megan. We visited at a time where they where updating the bar so some things on the menu where not available. However, after mixing a taster cocktail up we found a new fav something. Only think I would say was missing was an allergy book/app with a full breakdown of ingredients to read alongside the menu to save the staff having to go back and forth to the kitchen to check.

A really incredible restaurant that serves lovely food at a fair price. I've been here twice, had the Heisenburger both times, both times absolutely loved it! The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great. It's been so good that both times I forgot to take pictures! Edit: The menu has changed since and the heisenburger is no more! Luckily the new menu is awesome too, the new favourite is either pizza, or the Korean chicken burger!

So I’m Autistic and finding places that I like to eat is extremely difficult and this used be one of the few places I really loved I remember ordering the chilli con carne burger and the chicken gyros wrap meal both with chips on my previous visits and was really looking forward to coming again But I was left rather disappointed and not very impressed after my recent visit there for a meal with my mum. we went in only to find the menu had changed completely, which isn’t a bad thing, if you want a pizza or a burger but the menu had been drastically reduced with no sign of my favourite chilli con carne burger and worst of all the chips were replaced with fries (which again is fine if you aren’t me) We decided to try and order anyway because we loved it so much before, weordered the margherita pizza with fries, whilst there nothing was exactly wrong the fries I have a sensory disorder to food and despite trying to eat them I found they weren’t anything like the chips that used to be served with the food here The pizza however was nice and quite enjoyable but that’s about it . Can’t fault the service though the staff here are always lovely it’s just upsetting a little for me that this place will no longer an option for me I don’t think I will come back again, I miss the way the food used to be and am rather sad to see it change

Thought we would try this place as we were staying up the road. So glad we did our meals were lovely, we had the chicken flat bread with house slaw and chips, the boro burger with chips and the chicken strips with chips and corn on the cob, the plates turned up and you definitely get your monies worth, food was amazing, the atmosphere in the restaurant was nice too, the two waitresses were friendly. Would defo recommend going here. Not badly priced either.

As regular visitors to the Hideout, we know not only what to expect, but also that you will never be disappointed. Tonight was a slight exception as the menu has altered slightly. Some new ideas as well as old favourites. Everything we had was delicious. The welcome was as warm and friendly as ever, and Megan and Mieka made sure we were well looked after. Great as always, thank you.

Was absolutely amazing! Me and my partner booked here on a whim while on holiday and everything about this little cozy place was perfection! First time in and it's ok ..beer is reasonable..it was empty for a Saturday night not tried the food but I've heard it's hit and miss .

Me my husband and daughter were served by Amy and Maia, they were both lovely we are local to the hideout but hadn't been in quite a while but Amy still remembered our drinks order. Amy is so lovely and takes care with the customers and is so friendly and bubbly. The whole staff are so nice and friendly. We will definitely be coming back with our daughter so she can share our food.

I stopped by here today in-between jobs, I just wanted a large cheese burger to tide me over. Helen was extremely helpful and welcoming. The cheese burger was great and did the job, if I'm ever back in the area I will be stopping by to try the other bits of the menu! Thank you Helen & Megan!

Servicio brillante con personal amable. Nos sentamos en la zona privada, una familia de 19 y fue magnífico. La comida se unió (hicimos un pedido anticipado) y sabía excelente tan bien hecho al chef. El servicio fue genial pidiéndonos un par de veces bebidas extra y si la comida era buena. El trajo nuestro pastel de cumpleaños a nosotros e incluso le dio al cumpleañero un pequeño regalo. Bien hecho a todo el personal, Amy Helen y Honey.

Pedí una comida para llevar aquí la otra noche y era tan delicioso que decidimos pedir el almuerzo para ir de nuevo hoy! La carne está bien cocida, húmeda y tierna. Los sabores son deliciosos y las mejores patatas fritas con diferencia!

Fuimos a una cena de 50 cumpleaños esta noche, 7 de nosotros en total. El personal que estaba en (Amy y miel) fue más allá de la comida y el servicio fue increíble. No puedo agradecerles lo suficiente, desafiantemente volveremos

Found this little cafe kitchen whilst staying locally and needing something to eat after a 3.5 hour drive to Scarborough. Quirky place, nice atmosphere and pleasant staff, we ordered a couple of sides as starters to share. Mac N Cheese, Cheese Tater Tots and Onion Rings. All arrived piping hot, fresh and tasted lovely. Mains arrived of Clash of the Titans and a Goats Cheese and Red Onion Chutney Pizza! The pizza was huge and we could have shared it, so I only managed half on my own whilst my husband had his burger. My only issue was with the pizza, it was soggy in the middle so when I cut into slices and picked up to eat, the toppings slid off. Other than that we enjoyed, didn’t take a doggy bag because we were stuffed and couldn’t of eaten anymore of it anyway x

What a restaurant! Visited last night and as a coeliac I'm used to having very little choice. 80% of their menu however was marked as GF. Food was amazing, atmosphere was top notch, music was great and service was excellent. Even though they were short staffed and really busy they took the time to chat with you and make you feel welcome. Honestly a 10 / 10 dining experience. Even though I'm an hour and a half away from Scarborough I'll be making this place a regular!

Fantastic first time experience today at Hideout. Booked for 7 people and couldn't have had a better time. It was very busy but the staff were great, didn't rush us to order and regularly checked we were ok. All the food we ordered was delicious, from the Classic Parmo, nachos with pulled pork, kids pizza, burger, Caesar salad and milkshakes.

We went for joint birthday meals, the food and service was amazing. Thoughtful gifts and cards for the celebrations made it even more special. Would highly recommend, and we will be back again.

Really nice place - great decor, delicious food, lovely cocktails and excellent service. Megan and Tyler were friendly, knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome. We went for lunch and ended up staying for hours. Highly recommend and will be visiting again when we return to Scarborough.

10/10 plus! We visited on Tuesday 17th September, myself, Husband, 6 year old little girl and 5 month old baby. Myself and daughter struggle with “free from” food. We came on my Birthday and we will definitely be back. The menu is brilliant and such a big choice for “free from” including the kids menu which can be a big problem for us. The food was lovely and the service was brilliant. Not one complaint. The manager/owner I think, took the time to stand and talk to us which I found really nice. My daughter wanted to know what was in the fruit salad for pudding and she mentioned if there was melon! They went to the shop especially to get some to put in which we found out after. Such a nice thing to do. My daughter loved it that much she has asked to go back when it’s her birthday “tea out”. Also as I say it was my Birthday that actual day and they brought over a card and a box of Lindt chocolates which I think is an amazing touch. Not one bad thing to say, we will be back soon! 😄

So good we booked in twice in 6 days...once as a couple and once with friends. Lovely food, very reasonably priced, and really friendly staff.....and very Gluten free aware, as Coeliac I felt very safe We will definitely make The Hideout our go to place when we visit Scarborough.

Lovely anniversary meal here yesterday for my husband and I, we really appreciated the gift given to us :)

Read sign upon entry 'Wait to be seated' - despite being seen by staff we eventually had to ask if it was ok to choose a table to sit at! I ordered the 'Jackfruit Smoked Tray' - what I got was literally a tin of lukewarm jackfruit poured over a portion of chips with a drizzle of bbq sauce and a few slices of spring onion for garnish and coleslaw on the side. 2 of our party had the Jackfruit Ciabatta - again, tasteless Jackfruit. The other party member was happy with his Moving Mountain burger - hard to get that wrong really. The staff were friendly enough - no atmosphere as we arrived about 1.45 so possibly missed the lunchtime 'buzz'. With the restaurant being situated next to Peasholme Park Vegan Hotel you'd imagine it could only be to their advantage to provide tasty vegan options on their menu.

Great options for gluten free. Tends to get busy on evenings, and when there is a concert on at the Open air theatre, so pre booking is advised! Blue light card is accepted here too !

We called in whilst in the area due to the inviting exterior. Once inside we realised they were deceptively busy with several large parties. We fully anticipated to wait a while for food, but were astonished at the speed in which we were served. Not only was the service speedy, but incredibly welcoming and attentive. The only aspect which exceeded the fabulous service was the food. To say we enjoyed it was an understatement! There was an excellent selection of beers to choose from, and we even topped off the evening with a cheeky tequila. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area, or a drive if you’re not! 100% would recommend!

Clash of the Titans, Burger. Well.... The staff are amazing, so helpful and so friendly. The food was absolutely on point, I'm the person that finds fault in everything but this time I can't. Everything was cooked perfectly. I had a dead mans finger cocktail which was fantastic. Will definitely be going back here.

All bar one enjoyed their meals. The service was quite slow, but it was very busy. I think personally that it's a bit overpriced for what it is. The coleslaw was good. The brisket meal was too spicy me but my partner loved it.

Update two years on and the food is just as good. Some of the best American style cooking I've had in the UK, highly recommended! --------------------------- Bring a healthy appetite!! Saw this on Google maps a short distance from the park and we're very glad we popped by. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and huge portions of really good food. Loads of gluten free options for me too, love it!

I visit Scarborough North Bay regularly, and I wish I'd found out about this little gem earlier. Relaxed, friendly, good beer, great food and lovely staff. Dog friendly too!

First time been here since it changed hands decided to come and have some food Tuesday night before the movie . Food was beautiful the pizza was amazing. Took a while like over 40 minutes didn't seem that busy but could of been short staffed . Oh well if you're short you're short can't be helped . the new decor was amazing. Was so weird to not see it historically kitted out . But there was some funky stuff in there .

Went to the Hideout for meal prior to James concert. Great vibe to the place and very busy but they had plenty of cheerful staff and we didn’t have to wait long for our meal. Great choice and quality of food was excellent. Will definitely return on our next trip to Scarborough. Book ahead and if you want to leave a tip take cash as the card system doesn’t allow.

Came here before a James gig food too much of it, ale too much of it. Pulled pork deserves a special mention along with the onion rings & the halloumi. Staff are excellent❤️

What a lovely meal we've had, the portions are fantastically sized, the prices are reasonable, the kids stayed engaged and for picky little buggers they really enjoyed the food. Very good gluten free selection too. Really accommodating staff. Very happy.

Disappointed with this cafe. We went for lunch. It was not very busy and seemed to have a few front of house staff, but tables were sticky, no napkins on ours or others table ( we heard other guests asking for same. Food was very average. Nothing special.

food was amazing the staff and service could not of been worse! Started with a waitress shouting "theres one in the back corner" at us as she walked away, stood at the bar 10 mins to ask for the tables we'd booked, seated with menus, same waitress came back with what can only be described as denim pants on, both bum cheeks were out of the bottom of her shorts, it may be wasm but it was extremely unprofessional especially in a restaurant environment. Food was lovely very well cooled and season even came quicker than expected. No vista to che k everything was OK. Sat with empty plated for a good 15 mins before asking for the bill and for my left overs to be wrapped up, she came back with a box, threw it on the table with a "there you go" for me then to wrap up my own. Again food brilliant but completely let down by the teenage waiting staff with no clue!

We were staying up the road and decided to go for something to eat as we had just arrived, 8 of us. I checked the times but unfortunately when we got there they had turned off the oven as it was quiet. We did return the following lunchtime and all ordered various things from the menu. I had the chicken gyro…… it was enormous, a bit overwhelming and also a bit dry. However most enjoyed what they had and everything looked good. I would recommend but beware the large portions. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

A stones throw away from peasholm park, this place is a little gem. It has a nice outdoor area to eat and drink but if you sit outside you need to go to the bar to order. The menu has a good selection of pizzas, burgers and trays with things like pulled pork, mac and cheese and beef brisket. My partner ordered the Mac and cheese burger - their burgers come with chips and their "homeslaw". The Mac and cheese burger was loaded with Mac and cheese, more on the Mexican side of Mac and cheese as far as taste. My partner enjoyed it very much, I also tried it and it was delicious. I had the chilli con carne burger which again was loaded with chilli con carne. Everything tasted great. The fries are also really nice. The portion sizes are extremely generous so you won't leave hungry and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. Drinks are a little on the expensive side at £6 for an old mout cider but drinks are usually pricey when out at a restaurant. The service is great, the staff are really personable and relaxed. I would definetly recommend the hideout cafe if you're in the area and want something a little less touristic.

Really good music themed bar and diner. Perfect Madness playlist on the night of their gig at the Open Air theatre. Deserves to do well. Tasty lamb kofta and burgers, good range of beers. Friendly staff.
