Found coincidently, met best breakfast in Barrow. Very welcoming, very warm atmosphere. Nothing is a problem, actually the staff makes you feel so special you just want to cuddle them. Defo be back on my next motorcycle runaway. Good job Steve!

While I and my eldest lad shopping for Birthday cards for my wife, I decided to pop into The Hideaway Tea Rooms for a brew. To my delight, they are now serving Frothy coffee and Hot chocolate as well as Tea. I ordered a bowl of soup and my lad ordered toasted tea cake. I ordered a Coffee. Served by a pleasant couple, fully enjoyed my soup and served with a warm baguette, my lad although he wasn't hungry he did enjoy his Toasted Tea Cake. All in all a welcome refreshment after a hard day! looking for birthday cards and presents. Sam B.

We decided to try the hideaway tearooms during a tip to town with the kids. We had been told it was good for kids but sadly this wasn’t the case there was no children’s selection on the menu or anything for them to drink and surprisingly no high chairs for my youngest to sit in which was a pain. I had seen somewhere about the toilet here had been voted barrows cleaned toilet not sure about that, the towel in the toilet was very damp and smelt had to dry my hands on my pants would be cleaner and more hygienic to have a hand dryer or paper towels installed. They menu was ok little overpriced on some things but overall was ok but would only return next time without the kids as not ideal for them. The waitress was very friendly and welcoming. We noticed they’ve don’t have a food hygiene rating yet which is unusual as been open 4 months and told by someone in the trade that should be done within a month of opening, but we have walked pass since we went in and noticed they have a sticker in the window saying they awaiting inspection, hopefully that goes well.

A super cosy and 'old style' cafe, with very friendly staff. Incredibly reasonably priced, and some of the best black coffee I've had in a long while (they served it at the perfect temperature - this never happens!). The smell of freshly baked pie was just the perfect addition to the general ambience. Can't recommend this place enough.

While shopping in Barrow we came upon this hidden gem whilst going to the Market Hall . We had a look at what was on offer on the menu and decided to give it a go . On entering the first thing you notice is how spotlessly clean it is , and the decor is lovely . The owner is very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble . The food on offer is very tasty and very reasonably priced . We even took a takeaway home with us ! Would 100% recommend this place and we will definitely be returning very soon .

Had a few bits n pieces to do in town, but before doing so, we thought we'd call in for a cup of tea, Saturday 26th January 2019, however only to find a hidden gem of a Cafe. When entering this delightful Cafe, we were made very welcome and first thing i noticed is how clean the cafe is. There’s a board of 'Specials for sale' and we were made very welcome. We perused the menu and decided to try the Luxury Scrambled Eggs on Toasted Tea Cakes with a Pot of Tea. Everything on offer, cakes, pastries etc looked delicious, and with talking to the owner, who is more than happy to talk and chat, mentioned the quality of produce they insist including the Free-Range Eggs for the scrambled eggs, and it was delicious. Plenty of Tea and we were offered a refill, a simple offer of a refill goes along way and a rare thing to be seen. The cafe had only been open for approximately 4 weeks and the toilet had been voted cleanest in Barrow. My mate’s wife finally arrived, and asked for a Hot Chocolate, however, they dont offer that yet, i know for a fact a Hot Milky Coffee or Chocolate drink made similar by the great late Brucciani, would be a sure winner. You can keep the latte, solo, expresso coffees, just good coffee with boiled milk and frothed up, served with a slice of cake or biccies, would go down a sensation, let’s hope they read this and take the hint. I will be calling in soon and will be taking my good wife. It’s a hidden gem of a place, and hope it lasts. Sam B.

Would say that this restaurant is a rather different place on Match Days but I avoid them & really enjoy meals there. A special meal for pensioners is a really welcome. Children seem to be welcome.
