This a really nice pub with lots of history within it. Came for a quick drink. The gentleman(manager?) was friendly enough. It's such a beautiful place. Nice choice of drinks at usual London prices. Relaxed old fashioned pub vibe. Nice little beer garden as well.

Lovely staff, great choice of wine and beer, food always good and outstanding value. You feel you are in a pub in the English countryside, quirky royal memorabilia, lovely fire and big tv screeens when big matches are on! A pub for all and they welcome dogs up til 7pm. Our favourite local.

Very closed to Thai food you can get in Thailand. So impressed, highly recommended!

After waiting such a long time to eat at this place of which I'd read so many good reviews about I left hungry. Ordered prawn toast no taste of prawns just garlic on an over fried baguette slice followed by stir fried noodles in a sticky gravy which came in a large soup bowl. Noodles swimming in a bland not sticky gravy with absolutely no flavour no taste at all I ordered it with pork but the white flavourless meat I was served I'm not sure whether it was chicken or pork. Left hungry and very disappointed and to top it off was over charges by £3 had it not been for my husband they would have got away with it.. AVOID AVOID AVOID Save your money I definitely do not recommed and i have only reviewed my order not my husband's I haven't got the time to speak about this trash anymore!!!!!!

Poor example of Thai food. I don’t know if the people who have had reviewed this restaurant as authentic have ever been to Thailand. My Pad Kaprow Gai (that’s the Thai name for the dish, I can’t remember what it was called on the English menu but I asked for this dish and the waitress pointing to it) lacking the 4 flavours of Thai food - spicy, salty, sweet and sour. No fish sauce, no soy sauce but yes it had some chilli’s. My wife’s chicken stir fry with gravy? Was also lacking in flavour but to be fair they removed it from our bill but then over charged us by £3 (always check you bill) Sorry 1⭐️

Great place for a laid back drink and good Thai food

A fine olde pub in a new suit. The Heron offers a very traditional pub atmosphere albeit clothed in a modern building at the base of a residential tower lock. A fine selection of keg beers on offer along with a couple of cask ales. There are plenty of little nooks and crannies to get comfy in. Sport is available on the bi screen. A fun place to visit.

Great on two counts - a lovely pub early in the evening. A good range of beer and ale is even a good price for London. Then, come dinner, the place fills up and the food is excellent. A really big menu and all sounds amazing. Can definitely recommend the salmon green curry as well as the coconut soup.

Lovely pub. Excellent Thai kitchen available. Restaurant is downstairs however we opted to eat in the bar area. The bar is adorned with lots of British historical memorabilia. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Quality of the food was really good. My vegetarian daughter was well catered for.

Was doing a pub crawl Around Paddington and came across this small pub. Walked inside and was met with a lovely pub full and the smell of delicious Thai curry. Great portion sizes and the spice was on point. Good selection of beers and the staff were excellent. Would recommend

Many dishes can be had with vegetables, but they are not vegetarian or vegan. The menu has only a few vegetarian entries and they are starters. Staff when asked specifically does the red curry contain fish paste or not were unclear. The menu clearly states not vegetarian so I can only surmise it has fish paste. Its easy to source vegan variants of red and green curry so this is very disappointing. Have been several times and sometimes I have been told it is vegetarian other times ambivalent. The menu is not clear and they do not respond to the direct question via the contact box. If you are vegetarian be aware of this and ask them, the more people ask the more chance they will change the menu to be clear.

The portions were very large and tasty. I had sea bass Red Curry, my friend had Chicken Pad Thai. The starter of vegetable tempura was great, a nice variety of vegetables and light batter. Very reasonable prices and efficient service.

There are still no hookahs here and I would come here every day 😃

Really like this cozy neighbourhood pub with an attached family-run Thai restaurant in the basement. Food was authentic and very on par with what you get in Thailand. The pub itself is a typical old-style establishment but the staff were cool and down-to-earth, and the patrons in this area generally a pleasant bunch. Can't go wrong having a drink here.

Tip: If you have the opportunity to go there on the first Friday of the month, do it. Really enjoyed my meal yesterday. Authentic Thai food at its best. Great prices and portions size is perfect for each individual.

Very welcoming pub with exceptional, authentic thai food, I have eaten here a few times when staying nearby - always excellent. Hidden gem (for now!)

Really good place to go for a drink in a pricey part of town as the drinks are fairly reasonable considering. The Thai food is also very nice and not too overpriced. The Heron is an old school pub with lots of seating areas; inside outside and somewhere in between. It has got quite a few TVs so a good spot to watch sport. The pub is about an 8 minute wall from Paddington Station, Edgware Road is a bit closer. Great place to kill time when the trains are on the blink.

Best Thai pub in London. The pub itself feels like stepping back in time in the best possible way, but the kitchen is the the kitchen is the big draw, not at all run of the mill Thai, it's proper isarn food, recommend the pork rib tom yum.

Introduced a mate from Devon to the decorations which he knew from the Windsor Castle he loved the George Best corner.

I asked for a cold bottle of beer it was like warm so I refused it but the girl chloe was very rude refused to serve me but ancha who was perfectly polite usually puts in ice but chloe said not to serve so I just left but one your regular customer backed me up with ancha. My apologies but was not rude she was

Excellent place. The drinking and eating side of a familiar British pub. Sympathetic staff. The walls and ceiling are full of various memorabilia. Nice cool terrace on a hot day. On the food side, Asian cuisine, certainly stands out from the food offerings of basic pubs.

The food was ok. The Menu prices are different at the restaurant compared to the website. When I paid a reduced optional service charge, no one said good bye or anything when leaving the venue, which was extremely rude considering they said it to everyone else. It's not a place I would recommend or ever visit again.

I found Thwr Heron on Google for a Thai restaurant near Paddington. The walk wasn't far. There is a traditional British pub upstairs and the restaurant is below. I had spare ribs to start and my usual pad thai. Not bad but not one of my best. It was ok! The staff was friendly.

Great pub with thai food. Vegan friendly. So many choices on the menu. Most dishes you can choose between vegetables/tofu/chicken/beef and more. Many drinks choices in the pub as well. Friendly staff.

The place is a real HIDDEN GEM! Food is very tasty and traditional also the price is totally reasonable. Service was impeccable, the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

This a great pub and was my local. For some reason you can no longer take your dog in after 7pm. Dogs have never been allowed in the restarant. There a seated area just before the entrance to the garden. You cannot even sit outside on the front with your dog. I tend to eat around 8pm. From being a regular, and spending a goodly amount, I have never been back since this rule was introduced. A great sadness for me.

Very clean pub not bad price for beer in a West London area, I did not eat there but the food smells lovely

Came across this pub serving great Thai food. I got the mixed starter platter which was nice as I got to try many different starters in one dish. My favourite was the corn cake and the Thai siu mai dumpling. Then we ordered 3 main dishes to share...the pork neck was tender and delicious with the spicy dip and the green curry was also full of flavour and delicious. The pineapple rice was slightly disappointing as I felt that there wasn't enough flavour but there was plenty of king prawns and it still wasn't bad. Overall, I enjoyed the food here and I would come back again if I was in the area.

Perfect clear pint of cast ale, served right. The pub is very clean for an authentic english pub. I was a bit sceptical to have thai food in an english pub, but then realised its coming from the thai restaurant, just underneith the pub. Very good curry, one of the best i had in years. Prices are reasonable for London.

Decent food, service, a bit cramped but definitely worth a visit

Shocking service by a pissed manager Chloe: 15 years going to this pub for its great Thai food recommended to me by a close friend food critic for the Guardian. Never will I go again. Had chosen a table about to sit down and this drunk manager manhandled me and literally pushed me away from the table and gave to someone else, possibly a tourist thinking they will spend more money. I wait for the manager/owner ideally to contact me. Appalling experience. Will be sharing this awful experience.

This is simply a great pub that is well located, has good music, efficient staff and a lovely thai diverse menu which is so competitively priced I was shocked when I got the bill. Why would you not want to go here if you are out and about in London!!!

My son and I had to change trains in London in the middle of quite a long train journey. It was about 7:30pm when we got to Paddington and we were hungry so decided to pop out of the station to get something decent to eat before the next leg of the journey. The Heron Bar & thai restaurant looked good when we searched the local area online so we were more than happy to walk the roughly 10 mins to get there. We were glad that we did. Although it was a bit of a flying visit as we didn't want to stay too long before continuing on our way, we really enjoyed the meal and the pub looks like an interesting place to spend a while. All we had was a main and a drink but they were served relatively quickly and the food was SO good - it was a fantastic level of hot, very tasty and filling. The person looking after the tables was lovely and super helpful with dietary queries. If I was back at Paddington then I'd definitely visit the Heron Bar & thai restaurant again - hopefully for a bit of a longer stay this time :)

Had a super fresh Guinness on St Paddys day and to my surprise, got given a free bowl of delicious Irish stew! Such a cool pub, will def come again, next time Ill come when their handlebar moustache club meet is on 👨🏻🥸👴🏻

I have been there years ago but this time I was staying at a hotel nearby and couldn't miss coming to have a meal here. Sadly after 7pm the pub is not dog friendly so I had to order takeout instead of being able to dine in. The food was still just as good as I remembered it. Highly recommend.

The best Thai restaurant in the area, in a great location. Very friendly staff and tasty food. The Tom Yum soup is particularly good.

Whilst holidaying in London We stopped in at The Heron quite by chance. What a hidden gem…..the management and staff treated us so well…….it was the quintessential English Pub experience. Warm welcoming decor, great beers an sublime Thai food….congratulations to Stewart, Darren and Chloe for treating us so well. Do yourself a favour and enjoy a night, or two, at The Heron…..

Lovely pub with a Thai restaurant in the basement. Food and drinks are reasonably priced and delicious. They also have sky sports so you could have a Thai meal with a pint watching football!

Great environment! The ladies behind the bar were very accommodating! The Thai food was delicious! Definitely needs a visit…enjoyed it much!

Authentic Thai food in an informal setting, a neighbourhood restaurant below a pub, with a cosy feel, and friendly informal service. Great for a quick dinner before catching a train from Paddington. Food is the right blend of authentic and approachable, the dining room has smartened up over the years but the unfussy service and good value have remained, both of which I rate highly. Worth seeking out!

Went here for a drink with my friend visiting from South Africa. It's an unusual pub and does seem quintessentially English. Was initially sceptical of the food, but it was very tasty. I couldn't understand how they supported such a wide menu, but then discovered there is a restaurant downstairs. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area

This is approximately my third visit. The place was buzzing. The food was excellent and I can’t wait to visit again. The staff are great. Overall a great experience.

An actual hidden gem! Was skeptical initially as it was under a pub but food was great and service was good. Definitely good prices as well and a nice variety of food available there. Tried the cashew stir fry, and some tomyum. Loved both. Will definitely come back for more Thai food

Food is tasty wish the portions were bigger though TV screens are not synched for sound so one side of pub knows what will happen before the other side which keeps me away from watching football there more regularly One suggestion is just to pause the action on one of the screens for a few seconds and then that problem will be resolved Saying that it is a really homely pub with friendly staff

Was once a good pub, but it now its over run with refugees staying near by, which the owners seem to think are the future. Some drug dealing going on too. Stay clear of the place, the monkey puzzle is much better run pub

Kind waitresses but dish too greasy.. recommended for Thai fans. And too much expensive for what it was and the decorations was kind of creepy but the Elisabeth things was great and very English.

I do not give many five stars but this place is a hidden gem. Excellent kept celler, two casks and a real cyder on. Eccentric decoration and nice locals. Dog friendly. Oh plus the water gardens are out the back

A great variety of food, and every dish we ordered there was a top notch. The service is very good. The only "problem" is that the restaurant and the bar are like two different services, so it is sometimes strange (like having to go up to the bar to order beer), but each service was 5star by itself. The fried squids and crispy tentacles were amazing appetisers. They were so tasty, and really fun to eat. Each of the duck dishes we tried was amazing! Shout out for the duck tongues. Fat and tasty. They have an awesome desset of sweet rice and mango. It might sound a bit boring, but it is actually one of the most fun deserts I had in a while. Simple but tasty <3

Delicious food and lovely staff. Mix up with the bill and charged almost twice as much as I should have paid. They realized and came running after me with the correct bill and cash refund. I had just thought in was a bit pricey! Just got used to London pricing. Really appreciated their honesty. Will definitely go back again and try more of their interesting menu

استمعت امس بالمطعم بس ليس البار. جربت أصناف متعددة من الاكل التايلندي كان لذيذ. طبق المقبلات المنوع وتم تبديل البورك منتو لطبق اخر. فش كيك ذكريات وطلبنا يلو كاري دجاج رهيب وايضا لحم مع الكاجو بطل. البدتاي نولز كان طيب بس أقل من ستاندر البدتاي العالمي. عندهم ايس تي تبعهم ممتاز جدا وعجب الاولاد مره. يستاهل ترجع له

We recently stayed close to here and stopped by for snacks on a Sunday night. Lots and lots of pictures and decor to look at. A keyboardist set up and started his one man show. Before we knew it the nice bartender moved ours and other tables to the side to create a dance floor. Everyone in the pub started dancing and didn’t stop til the music stopped. We met very nice locals and other travelers and had the best time. Great way to end our trip. Not sure how often this happens but even without dancing the pub has nice drinks and great Thai food.

Got back ther after the Billy Joel concert, just wot we needed to Finnish off a good night! Great atmosphere, great beers and staff very helpful.

A great find,a proper pub that's not been gutted, full of character. The food is Thai and was really tasty and well presented at really great prices,staff were so friendly and had a bit of banter,beer selection was varied and well kept.
