The Heron Restaurant in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

What a fantastic place, I have stayed there for over two weeks and I couldn’t be more happier. All the staff are wonderful and Tracy and Stuart are an incredible team . The rooms are amazing the view incredible over the river, and the food was delicious, I can not recommend this place more loved every moment. Thank you all Michael. X

Food was really good, generous portions and presented nicely. Would have given 5 stars but we were put off with the dog which I believe belonged to the pub that kept coming and sitting right next to the table whilst we were eating or sat under our table. I appreciate the pub is dog friendly and knew when we booked, but feel that they should be sat with their owners and not roaming up to people whilst they are eating. The staff kept calling him back, but it just kept returning.

Stayed at the Heron for a Night in June and wasn't disappointed, very comfortable and stylish room with views out over fields and the river, very quiet at night with only the odd passing car, and very comfortable bed. Breakfast great quality ingredients and a good portion and very relaxed chatting to the other guest and the owners. Would recommend, very good value- just wish we could have stayed for dinner.

We decided to have a wake for a recently departed family member at the Heron, and we are so glad we did. From the moment we walked in to organise it until the wake was over, we were treated with the utmost dignity and respect. Nothing was too much trouble for Tracey and her wonderful team, always willing to answer any questions and always happy to help in any way they could. The wake went very smoothly, and the venue, food, drink, and service were all amazing. We'd like to thank Tracey and her team on behalf of everyone who attended for doing such a fantastic job and for making such a difficult day that bit easier to deal with.

Beautiful day, we decided to pop up to the Heron for Sunday Lunch. We knew we would need to get there early as we hadn't reserved, so we arrived at 12.15. Quite busy already, the place was buzzing! We took an outside table overlooking the river, a very pleasant spot. The bar/waiting staff were lovely, we ordered the full roast beef lunch, took our drinks and settled down to wait in the sunshine for our food. Very soon our roast arrived, and I have to say it was one of the very best I can recall having for many years!! The beef was PERFECTLY cooked it was tender and really tasty - and there was a lot of it. The roast potatoes were also excellent as were the accompanying parsnips and large Yorkshire puddings. We would have had to travel a long way and spend much more to find anything to compare. Well done Heron!

We were made welcome on arrival. The service was friendly and efficient. The decor is a little past it's best, but the ambience was warm, welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent, the pie was a real, proper pie, not just a meat filling with...

Stopped off on our journey for a pint and a sandwich on Easter Saturday lunchtime. There were a few people in there eating what looked like a very nice meal, the portions looked very generous. But we only wanted a sandwich. Looking at the menu...

Was not expecting to find such a lovely pub on our ride today. Lovely log fire going which was an added bonus. Bartender very nice and friendly and suggested a good ale for my fiance to try out while I drank a lovely rum and...

The Heron is a traditional pub, with a good choice of pub grub at reasonable prices, my only criticism would be that the portion sizes are very large (but then that's personal preference).

my wife and I stayed in Stow Bridge last weekend and we had an evening meal at The Heron.The meal and service were excellent and it was good value in very comfortable and friendly surroundings.

Excelente variedad de suculenta comida bien preparada y presentada de pub. El personal era amable y profesional, la variedad de comida era enorme así como los tamaños de las porciones. Todo lo que todo estaba bien preparada y presentada. No comer nada antes de ir, le servirán un montón!

Fuimos a la garza a para una comida familiar y estaba muy decepcionado. La mesa que habíamos reservado estaba en una habitación compartida, que nos dijeron que no sería. Un hombre siguieron viniendo a ver si nos estaba presente y parecía agresivo y brusco. Todos tuvimos que ir al bar para que nuestras propias bebidas y nadie vino a ofrecer cualquier servicio para esto. Una vez que la comida llegamos había un montón de confusión en que fue quien es y las comidas vienen en distintos abarca (alrededor de 5 minutos por 5 platos) tuve una lasaña que era muy seco y debido a esto no pude comer. Mi pareja nos tomamos un bistec que él tenía unos 10 patatas fritas. Normalmente me socio comida de pub a ser buena comida de casa, pero esto fue decepcionante. No vamos a volver.

Local en donde alojarse y la comida estaba bien menú estándar. La noche yo estaba allí noche burget. hamburguesas eran de buena calidad. Tarta de Treacle pudding para no fue lo que esperaba, y no fue una buena wihich fue una pena - cerveza local era encantador. Buen pub Country

Very Average overall. Decor needs a refurb. As looks very dated inside. Only a table of 6 and a table of 2 ordered before us. We waited over an hour for our meal to come out. G

Brilliant food. Good portions and very friendly staff. Visited last week for lunch and the vegetable lasagne is recommended.

Al haber comido allí una noche nos preguntaron acerca de la oferta almuerzo anciano del Heron. Se nos informó de la joven helpful Lady de guardia que siendo vegetariana constituirían un problema ya que cuando llegamos algo apropiado sería solucionado para nosotros, así que no hay nada de que preocuparse. Fue triste que tenga en cuenta que el menú para el anciano no incluyen una opción vegetariana que en sí era inusual en cualquier restaurante que ofrece variedad. Decidimos tomar ella ofrecen onher y llegamos a la hora del almuerzo unas cuantas semanas más tarde. Cuando nos dijeron que la señora de guardia que estábamos vegetariano que ella era más abrasivo y poco servicial y nos dijeron que teníamos que haber llamó con antelación porque ella simplemente no puede ordenar algo como eso. Su actitud desde el principio era pobre y nos sentimos como segunda clase jubilados. No hace falta decir que nos fuimos. Nos sentimos obligados a llamar al propietario más tarde para decir lo que nos defraudó la falta de bienvenida y el respeto que experimentamos pero el propietario señaló que el miembro del personal era su hija, que era el final de esa conversación. Creo que es necesario algún tipo de formación sobre valorando propias personas. No volveremos.

Este fue un espolón de la decisión de momento para el almuerzo de domingo aquí y no nos defraudó. Este pub cumple todos los requisitos. Buena comida, buena cerveza, gran servicio! He cenado y supped cerveza aquí en varias ocasiones y siempre es bueno. Simplemente no podría bastante darle "excelente" y bajó a muy bueno para una pequeña razón. Los aseos son limpias y olor fresco pero necesita un poco de mantenimiento. Las pocas últimas visitas de más de 12 meses para el retrete de señoras había roto un papel higiénico asiento y otro había una forma muy cutre. A sólo 2 horas trabajo de mantenimiento le pondría justo. Quizás no lo han llevado a los terratenientes atención y quizás me estoy siendo pernickety. No me quitó a visitarlo.

Felt a bit like "tourists" as this pub is definitely "local" but we were made very welcome and the food was very plentiful and delicious.

Mi esposa y yo tuvimos pavo asado. El proceso real - no muy bien cocinados de Turquía transformados carne a la que se podría esperar en un pub remoto. El pavo salsa también era simplemente precioso preparados adecuadamente desde el zumo de Turquía. Las verduras era dente bien cocinado por lo que quiero decir casi de al. Sin embargo había dos patatas (asado y huevos duros) tres de cada uno y no lleva de cinco verduras separadas (guisantes, zanahorias, brécol, col y coliflor) muy por encima. Mientras hacíamos nuestro mejor comer toda la Turquía (de los cuales había masas) y tres verduras y una patata cada uno cuando la camarera venía nos pidió disculpas porque a enfrentar. Dice que la mayoría de la gente lo son. El pub haría mucho mejor si se concentró en variedad y cantidad menor de verduras. Menos sería más nuevo y económicamente mejor para ellos. Relación calidad-precio es simplemente maravilloso recomendaría a cualquiera, pero no tienen una palabra sobre el tamaño de la porción en particular si se haya jubilado!

Very good food and nice menu. Often go for Sunday lunch and not been disappointed so far.I would say the service is not always good and it can take an age to get your order. Otherwise I shall certainly visit again.

The restaurant is very nice, the food is excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is also the choice of eating in the bar if you don't feel like dressing up for the restaurant. It is always busy and often there is difficulty parking in the yard but it is always worth the effort.
