The Henry Addington in Tower Hamlets

What a great place, sat in the sun by the water on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Life doesn’t get better. James and the team are friendly and on their game. They have 1/2 dozen different pies including one with rabbit and another brisket, I went for a beef marrowbone affair, huge and delicious. Guinness was as good as it gets. Defo put this on the list if you’re on the Canary Wharf area.

The team reserved an area for me to host reunion drinks. Ordering drinks was quick and staff were extremely accommodating. Empties were collected on regular occasions and we stayed in the area later than the booking without issue. Toilets were clean and well kept. Everything about our visit was perfect! Thank you.

Nice pub. Great tasty food, I had a cheese burger, it was very nice. Good size portion of chips with it too. My partner had the slow cooked beef brisket pie, the gravy in it was really thick. Creamy mash was delicious. Overall great pub grub!!

Recently went here for Saturday lunch with some friends, booked a table online which was very easy. The staff were very helpful and the only issue we had were that a few items that were selected from the menu were not available which surprised me as we were eating fairly early in the day. That said, the food that we had was basic but nice, it served its purpose. The main highlight was the friendly staff, I will return shortly and i don’t live too local either.

Sunday afternoon in Canary Wharf , we were waiting to see the Light Art Installations that were dotted about and it was really cold and the wind was strong We see a sign outside the Henry Addington promising 'Winter Warmers' on which the first warming treat was billed as MULLED WINE & CIDER , perfect to take away the chill indeed we thought I went to the bar where some sort of staff training/discussion was taking place but one of the barmen soon left the group to take my order . "Two Mulled Wines please" I said only to be told they were not doing mulled wine and he really aught to take it off the specials board . I guess I was not the first person on that cold weekend to request a hot alcoholic beverage Am I missing something here , but with winter just begining to kick in and it's likely to stay cold for another 5 or 6 weeks , why remove such a January/February staple as Mulled Wine in a busy bar'restaurant located on a windy corner ? I was told other hot drinks were available ....TEA or COFFEE , which is hardly a substitute Maybe in the middle of summer they will consider taking Aperol Spritz off the drinks menu ?

Our first outing after Christmas Lovely bar snacks. We ordered the chorizo, peppers, nachos and runny scotch egg washed down with a cold pint. Fabulous pitstop and great atmosphere. Will be back next time we are in London!

Visited the Henry Addington at 6pm, with my wife, on a Friday evening, The pub was nicely busy and we couldn’t find a table. Jack, a member of the bar staff, asked if he could he could help, and then rearranged some tables to find us a space. We eat at the pub and enjoyed our meal, and the good choices of Ales were excellently presented, and I think the best in Canary Wharf. It has the nice feel of a local pub. The staff were all helpful, efficient and very friendly. A very good experience

Really nice roast beef dinner . Fish and chips was also very good . All good really hot . Good service . Gravy was excellent!! Reasonable prices for Canary Wharf .

Excellent range of beers and in this day and age full credit great service with quite a few serving behind the bar. With the sun out there is no finer place to sink a few pints

We had walked along the Regent Canal from Kings Cross down to Canary Wharf and were so hungry. The pub wasn’t really that busy for a Sunday and found a table easily. You order food from the bar, staff are friendly. I tried to order a Sunday roast but it had “sold out” so then I tried to order sea bass “sold out” third time lucky a vegetarian pie was available… Ordered and waited 45 minutes for our food, many customers around us were complaining about the wait time … Terrible service. Surprised food was delicious but sadly our experience was overall was poor. You really need to sort your kitchen out as you will lose customers. Would not recommend.

Reasonable food but spoilt by poor service. One meal arrived promptly, but another did not arrive for another 15 mins. And we had go get the waiter to remind him of the order. Good was only just warm enough to eat.

Very good spot for lunch, busy during the week but more relaxed on the weekend. Cheryl the manager was very friendly and knowledgeable. Will be back for sure!

It was this nice place we went by, and we wanted to have a couple of beers, before we vent on. So we stoped and spoke with this lovely danish lady. And had a nice talk. It is nice to meet a fellow scandinavian, but more so a nice bartender. We recomend Henry Addington pub, and also the amasing Veronika. She is the best !

Used to come here loads back in the day, pre covid. Have returned. All new staff. But it's still cracking! Veronica is star of the show, great service and efficiency that many boozers can learn from. Five stars.

Just spent a very plesent few hours with my brother at this establishment having seen him for the 1st time in a year. The staff were excellent. The experience was completely ruined by the extremely rude manager with absolutely no customer service skills. She could learn a great deal from her staff.

Un nuevo pub favorito en Canary Wharf. Estuvimos aquí mientras Londres estaba a unos 35 grados, entramos y se enfrió instantáneamente. Buena selección de cervezas y sidras. También me sorprendió gratamente la colección de whisky, ¡Hibiki Harmony es algo que debes probar! Buena música y no era ni demasiado alta ni demasiado baja. El personal es agradable, excepto el hombre que estaba feliz de hablar con nosotros de cerca en la mesa mientras recogía nuestros vasos vacíos, pero luego hizo un escándalo cuando quería pagar en efectivo por las bebidas. Bastante extraño. . pero aun así tuvimos muchas horas aquí y ya lo hemos recomendado a otros.

One of the better pubs in Canary Wharf which seems to always be pretty busy so has a decent atmosphere. There is a wide selection of beers and spirits. Service was decent with lots of bar staff to keep the queuing time down to a minimum.

My wife and I ate here today and both enjoyed our meals more than expected.I had the club sandwich and fries plus a pint of beer which was served to us on our outside table. The fries (a rare treat) were as hot as could be and golden brown and the toasted granary white bread thick and nice and crunchy. My wife went for the vegan salad and thoroughly enjoyed that as well; she had sparkling water (that did seem expensive, but, hey, this is Canary Wharf). The toilets were very clean and we both remarked what a good pick for our lunch it had been.

Nice pub with a good selection of drinks including real ales. Prices are what you expect for Canary Wharf. The outside seating is great. Not a lot of atmosphere when we visited but that’s not surprising for a Saturday afternoon in this area.

When i visited here before i found it very average but with the bar staff now we was served by Sean who took his time to ask exactly when pink gin we wanted also the choice of wines and polite and friendly and given a warm welcome even though it was quite busyGlad i gave it another try

Visited for lunch and choose the pie which although on the pricey side was plentiful and tasty. Selection of beers is really good if you like your beers.

Thanks to Aidan and all the staff who halped make my retirement do so special. Catered for over a 100 of us, including food for vegans, vegetarians and meateaters alike. Great range of drinks and friendly bhelpful staff. Top drawer.

Acepto plenamente que los precios en Londres y en áreas premium en particular como Canary Wharf atraerán una prima. Sin embargo, sí aprecio el servicio decente y la sonrisa ocasional no dolería con seguridad? El pub es bastante grande, espacioso y limpio, y tiene asientos amplios tanto por dentro como por fuera, lo último es particularmente agradable cuando brilla el sol. Qué pena que el prosecco no se venda en botellas individuales de 200 ml. Pedí una copa para mi esposa y el servidor usó una botella grande que tenía una cantidad muy pequeña de vino. No lo suficiente para llenar el vaso, pero lo suficiente como para hacer que el producto final (que se rellenó pero una botella nueva) sea tan plano como un panqueque. Solicité un vaso fresco para ser justos, pero no sin una mirada desagradable. Bueno, eso fue suficiente para que pudiéramos tomar solo una bebida cada uno e ir a otra parte para la siguiente. Visited several times and it is a nice venue with a good choice of beers and ales. Plenty of polite staff and service is good. Enjoyed each visit but beers are expensive.

Went for a bite and somehow things got muddled up. In an act of courtesy they brought the missing dish that wasn't even charged in the first place. And on top another free drink.

I rarely bother to write reviews, preferring to thank staff in person for good service and food, but such was the quality of my grub today at this pub, I can’t help myself. I’ve never seen a chicken pie put together and served to the public in the condition it was today. It looked like an amateur had attempted to make it and tasted quite literally ......of nothing. None of my colleagues could discern any taste in that pie either.

I love this place just keep going back! It's traditional flavour is really nice for international guests! Traditional British bar snacks were awesome!

Popped in with a girlfriend for some lunch here and was very pleasantly surprised. There’s a great atmosphere, a fine menu and our food was scrumptious. The guy who served us was very pleasant and made us feel very welcome. We had planned on a quick bite but stayed longer in this very welcoming pub. I would highly recommend it and I will definitely go back sometime soon in the evening.

I popped in with some work friends and I was never there before but I was struck by the size and how quickly we were all served, there was a fantastic buzz in the place and the staff were very content and worked hard. It was a happy place to visit as customers and staff seemed to be having fun!

En tant que Français nous apprécions cette ambiance de pub où les conversations vont bon train sans se soucier des tables voisines ce qui crèe un brouhaha infernal auquel nous ne sommes pas habitués. Notre serveuse était très agréable et professionnelle, notre plat de saucisses purée excellent et bien sûr la bière et le gin tonic au top.

It's the only proper pub I've come across in the area, I hadn't known it was here until I walked by yesterday. Massive beer selection but more importantly buzzing atmosphere. I will definitely be back!

Came in for lunch with a group and when ordering the waiter looked blank despite pointing out the dish on the menu. Wrong meal arrived so I requested the correct meal again, showing the menu to the waitress, but after everyone had finished eating and an hour after we arrived I was given the wrong meal again (a different one but still not what I had ordered) so left without having a meal and the only compensation offered was a free drink and no discount taken off the bill.

Recently visited the Henry Addington. Was pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of gins. Some fantastic choices I have not seen elsewhere. Staff were very knowledgeable and had great advice when choosing drinks. Drinks were served in very nice glasses with a selection of garnishes.

Service is good, not too expensive and just watch the canary wharf world go by. Once you get a seat you might not leave. Me and friends did breakfast, lunch and dinner one day last week and didn't move. Brilliant day. I will be doing it again this summer! If you are a smoker, you can smoke at the table outside by the river!

Nice location by the water. plenty of tables and chairs outside and in,sadly everytime i ordered a drink i seemed to get someone who was on their first day and clear lack of the spoken english,the lady behind the counter was great and sorted it out for me,it was pretty quiet there so must have been the regions staff training day or people have found it better elsewhere

Used to be able to rely on good beer here. Sampled 4 this evening (taster size) and they were truly awful, like they're not kept well rather than poor choices. So sad & disappointing!

Most better mainstream bitter beers run out with regular monotony, leaving only craft beers and the like which seem not to. No London Pride these days and alternatives only last a day. Our gammon steaks were tough.

Took my granddaughter today with husband and myself although nice surroundings the food was alfalfa we had Sunday lunch the plate had more parsnips on than anything else tiny Yorkshire that was hard absolutely waste of money and disappointed for my grandaughter as it was a treat for her, the service was diabolical and could speak or understand English will not go back again or recommend we live locally and wanted to have a local place to go regularly but this certainly won't be it.

Located in Canary Wharf, the Henry Addington place is good for after business get together. There is no table service and it is quite noisy but the list of beer is long and menu is reasonably cheap considering prices in Canary Wharf.

Parecía prometedor fuera y un menú bien pero en 8. 05:00 pm en un sábado por la noche me dijeron que habían dejado de servir la comida. Popped in here for some lunch after a meeting just around the corner. I was impressed with the gin selection they had on offer. Christine recommended the Sipsmith gin with a fever tree tonic and it was great. I had the steak and red wine pie and it was huge. Good price too.

Atmosphere was fantastic, great bar staff , food was enjoyable and good table service. What I was most impressed with was the cleanliness and friendly service. The manageress came over to introduce herself and made us feel very welcome. Great experience and highly recommend .

I do like a draft beer here I found a good selection. The food selection is typical pub food it was ok. Service was good. We went on a lunch time Saturday and it was empty.

Very smart looking pub with a wide range of well kept ales.

The Henry Ad's was recent closed for a refurbishment. On the day before the closure, 6 of us went for a team lunch. The service was very very poor and we ended up complaining to the Nicholson group. Henry Ad's invited us back for complimentary meals after reopening. The service today was outstanding, the waitress made it extra special. We know what she was going above and beyond her duty due to the complaint, however we felt the service was spot on. This review is a combination of 2 visits, the visit before the refurbishment was 1/5. Today's visit was 5/5, hence I have given an overall 3/5. The food menu has changed since reopening. The vege burgers has gone and instead it had been replaced with a aubergine and harissa burger, it's actually better than the vege burger.

There aren't enough pubs in Canary Wharf, so this is a bit of a work regular. On a Friday (and many other nights for that fact), it's busy, but you can get served reasonably quickly.

Popped in for a drink before lunch great selection of gin, I had my usual hendricks perfectly served, friends had martin miller again served beautifully.

Obviamente negocios es tan buena que no necesita coincidir con el horario de otros. . Deberían haber.. . . De todos modos, no esperes una comida allí un domingo por la noche.

Visited this Canary Wharf pub on the basis that it sells real ale - which, in fairness, it does but of four hand pulled ales supposedly available, two were unavailable and I couldn't help noticing the scruffiness and lack of atmosphere of this pub in this showcase area of all that's bright and modern! There are better places nearby for a drink.

Had a "fry up" on Friday 16 June. Service was fine. Location great. Quality of my full English breakfast was pretty poor. Tasteless bacon, potato hash was the frozen variety and well over cooked. Baked beans dried out. Other ingredients okay ish. All Bar One a few doors away is far better. I wasn't expecting a gastronomic experience but this sub standard. Advice: Go elsewhere if you like quality ingredients,cooked well and nicely presented. Only redeeming feature was it cost very little, just £7.50 but nevertheless represents poor value.

Went with family on Saturday early dinner as they close kitchen at 8pm. Place was quite empty which is usually the case at the weekend. Ordered drinks and sat down to look at menu. Was advised by the bar man that we need to order food at the bar, which we did. Food came reasonably quickly and was hot. We had 2 x hunters chicken and the steak and ale pie which was all nice 'pub food'. We had two desserts and another round of drinks and the bill was just over £50. Not bad for Canary Wharf area. Even better we had a 25% off coupon! Will come again . Nice location.

We were staying in Canary Wharf but the beer at our hotel was not to my taste. A walk to the Henry Addington cured this - there is a good range of beers including a good choice of real ales - I chose the Nicholson's pale ale - excellent if slightly expensive. There is outside seating for warmer evenings.Well worth a visit!

Good choice of food, sauasages and chops. The barnsley chops were excellent, nice friendly staff who were very accomodating. Good selection of drinks would definately return.

Come for the beer and atmosphereOrdering the steak and ale pie, I had memories of a Wetherspoons circa mid 1990's pie. Alas it was not (neither can Wetherspoons match it by the way). The vegetables were but a dried up apology next to the school mash. Must remember to fill those cracks in the brickwork. I can only imagine that my meal spent too long under hot lights as it really needed the gravy to moisten the bone dry exterior of the two leaves of kale. Great selection of well kept beers though and the staff are busy but friendly.

Ordered a Ploughman's sandwich and the first one had mouldy cheese in the middle. The second one was made with stale bread that fell apart and was nearly impossible to eat. Really bad quality of food, but I'm sure the pub is nice for a drink. Wouldn't come back.

Nice collection of beers as well as lagers, good size room but gets very crowded on a Thursday evening. Has an outside space for the smokers
