We had sunday Roast. Do gluten free which was very good..great service.

Beer Moretti £6.75 a pint. This is on Canvey island, not bloomin the city/London. When many other pub's on Canvey (including those on the seafront) are charging £5 or less, this is ridiculous. Can't fault the staff, the place itself is ok. But i won't support the greedy owners.

My first time here today, bar lady seems miserable, I was waiting around 3 mins to get served, being the only person at the bar. I totally understand that the bar attended (Woman) is busy at the back, but could I at least get some kind of acknowledgment? Hello, I will be with you in a min or so, would go down nicely. Then when I ordered, she holds out the card reader and looks at me, I asked her how much? Isn’t she suppose to tell me? Can you see where I am coming from? The places I normally go, these things don’t happen. As for atmosphere, the pub is real great, you get that pub smell and feeling. It reminds me of the old days which today’s pubs don’t have. Yes, I will be turning.

I was having a lovely evening until the Dorman decided to pick on me was not the first time he has done on other occasions. bar staff, very polite could be more helpful shame about the bullies on the door.

My sister, my Nephew and I went for Karaoke on Thursday 21st Dec, we always go for our Birthdays. The videos were from August, that's my sister Manda singing 😁 I can't give stars for food, as we didn't have any. The loos are a bit naf and the drinks are pretty expensive but the atmosphere is great, we always have a good time, the bands they have on there are brilliant too but I can't always afford to go.

Meal with friends and really enjoyed everything about the visit!

Kareoke Thursday Wow, don't take my word the staff are friendly, a great atmosphere, excellent. Regardless of the non-existant buses to town I found this pub warm and sunny on a pissy typical cold night. I have fond regard for the pub , thank you I'm proud to share a drink at the haystack 10/10👍🇬🇧👌

Been going here for many years, moved from the island so don't get in as much now. Was nice and chilled on Sunday nice selection of draft lagers and ales.

Good food and drink. Nice retreat while the wife goes shopping.

Standard town centre pub - both draft beers we're off when we visited

Used to go there before the virus dropped on us, went in there with the wife for a 🍺 Sunday afternoon to be greeted with lousy live music, way to noisy for my old ears ordered a beer for us both to find it's now served in plastic glasses well as I ordered a kroneburg nice strong beer...hadn't had one for over a year.....to find the plastic killed the taste...not good

Very nice pub, music stackfest was great, good bands. A must ever year second year on the trot for me.

Poor quality roast dinner... From the freezer and no flavour. I complained but no-one said or did anything about it. Won't be back...

Inside the haystack smelt of cigarettes. But I sat outside. Staff were friendly. Drink was lovely.

Proper local boozer...with the football on 😐 Best bit, first one I've seen for while with two pool/snooker tables. No real ale to speak of, but the Green King IPA was well kept and fine....

Just a bit of a grotty pub that hasn't ever seen a revamp. Same old people will likely be in there week in week out.

Free pool was good fun and the staff were friendly nice local pub not sure what it would be like on a busy night but it was nice and relaxed and not busy when we visited and both had a good time

Went to see some live bands here,was a great day with friends,didn't realise the car park opposite locks the gates early on a Sunday,we got locked in,the bouncers here were very helpful and sorted my car,couldn't thank them enough.

Went there to watch live bands at weekend,great music and great atmosphere ,would def go there again

Family friendly during the day, adult friendly during the evening not like Saks across the road , saw a bouncer getting too physical with a very skinny young man who was worse for wear, avoid Saks unless you like a punch up.

The haystack is an icon pub on canvey island They serve a good Guinness and have a vast selection of beers and lagers.They also serve very good pub grub.also,the live entertainment is very good, especially the Johnnie Cash tribute, I might mention that I have seen it 3times.
