My husband and I and my daughter and my two nieces visited the Tarpots harvester on Saturday 22nd March at 6 o’clock. We have never been to the Tarpots harvester before and wanted to try it. We were thoroughly impressed by the service that we received both upon arriving at the harvester, and by our waitress, Siobhan, who was really attentive, great with the children and nothing was too much trouble. Every individual member of staff that served us either by bringing our drinks, and our food was very polite and ever so helpful. The food was excellent and the menu offered great choice. We will definitely be visiting again and this will now be our local regular harvester restaurant.

We were served tonight by the lovely Siobhán, always happy, very helpful and always makes us feel welcome. The new menu was out and I asked which salmon dish she recommended which was the salmon rice bowl. It was very tasty! Thank you Siobhán xx

Nice food , bit chaotic, we had fun and felt comfortable and enjoyed the food. Lemon Sunday was delicious .

The food is top notch with plenty of choices, prices are good, the atmosphere very good, the staff very friendly but very busy, My only concern was on leaving I wanted to use the gentlemens room, this was not possible because of a toilet blockage , not sure if it will get sorted anytime soon.

We travel to this particular harvester as we have found the food and staff and environment are alot better. Arrived early and seated straight away with no issue, a lovely service by siobhan I believe. Food came out quickly the whole experience was efficient and enjoyable and the food tasted as good as we expected we had the mixed grill and sirloin steak no complaints from us. keep up the great work everyone

Waited 5 minutes to be seated, waited 10 minutes to be asked for our drinks order then another 15 minutes to get glasses for the refill machine at which point we made our order for meals. Our starts came out after 45 mins and then the main another 45 after that. Table was left to clutter with plates, waitress kept going over to one table in particular and proceeded to talk to them at great extent many times. Three tables were sat after us and all left before us. The only good thing about tonight was the 50% off mains deal. One main meal was missing from the upgrade food and the waitress was no where to be seen, did not get asked if our food was ok. Just terrible tonight, sadly this experience was with the same waitress we had when we dined here around 6 weeks ago. Staff could also be heard shouting across the restaurant and swearing at each other, not very professional at all.

Great service from Haley. Food was good. I very much like the new menu. Haley helped me set up the APP and explained all the offers available. Saved us 50% on our on our meal. All good.

Came for dinner on Saturday night, food wasn’t great had fish & chips was overcooked and fish was wet, the batter was soggy. The service wasn’t good either had to wait 5-10 minutes to be seated. Heard a waitress say to another ‘ha you thought’ when we’re sat down, and the waitress seemed to be annoyed she had a to deal with more customers. Finally sat down and had wait again 5-10 minutes to be seen to. Drinks took along time to come, our food came out at different times. The salad bar had awful selections, and most of it looked like it had been sitting there for ages Ordered corn bread with our main meals not as a starter and we received the corn bread 10 minutes before we got our mains and could see our mains sitting under the hot light. Heard the chef say to one of the waitresses can someone take this food as it’s been sitting here for ages. We received our food and it wasn’t great, it was cold and soggy. No check back and no nearby staff to complain to. We finished our meals and waited 10 minutes with plates sitting on the table, we were going to get desserts however staff were too busy standing at the bar talking to come over to us. We eventually decided to go to the bar to pay our bill and leave as no one in restaurant to ask for the bill. The bar lady was helpful and seemed as if she was doing all the work while staff just stood at the bar talking. It wasn’t busy at all so thought it would be quick service. Myself and my partner both have had dodgy bellies today.

Went for a dessert at 8 40 been told closed the kitchen earlier for almost an hour n 20 mins because haven't had any order for 40 minutes. Terrible experience

Arrived before 7pm but was told the table wasn't ready so had to go and sit in the bar area. Got seated, ordered our food and drinks. Food was good but had children from another part of the restaurant running round our table. They did this for about 20 minutes. Parents were nowhere to be seen. We ended up pushing a chair in the way so that they couldn't keep running past. We ordered another drink with the waitress that never arrived. Then when I paid a tip was being requested. Like I say, the food was good but won't be going back for a while. Not sure why the children or the parents of the children couldn't be spoken to about their kids running round but it's not a playground.

Back here after several years, and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and value for money of our meal. They have upped their game. I will be visiting more often.

Standard harvester Food average !

Returned after lovely meal last two weeks running.As I have a lot of allergies we were served by one of the manageress's called Jodie.Jodie took all my details of allergies checked with the kitchen regarding my meal and had it adapted so that it was suitable for me and also my salad bowl was prepared directly in the kitchen to avoid any cross contamination.My salad and meal were lovely and my partner had a similar meal without any allergy requirements and his meal was very good as well.Our only slight niggle is that the fries never seem very hot and don't taste fresh.Please give a big thank you to Jodie for looking after us so well again.

Honestly am gutted about the experience we had here. First of all the lady that took our order had to take it three times (which we weren’t annoyed about as it wasn’t her fault) but it was a little frustrating having to say all our meals again especially when we were a table of 8 with 3 children as well! The starters came out and the nachos were stale and the breaded mushrooms weren’t how they normally are they were undercooked. We still ate them as we were starving but then the mains… I had a chicken skewer with WARM flatbread and coleslaw… well I wish I had taken a picture the flatbread was not warm AT ALL it was freezing and the chicken wasn’t hot it felt like it had been sitting there a while. My sister in law has to ask for a spoon for her child 3 times until we finally got one. The rack of ribs were dry and had lack of sauce. And my partners step dad had a steak meal in which he took a bit of the mushrooms which had what looked like a hard bit of cardboard in. We showed the manager and all they did was give us a free pint. Fair enough but I didn’t think this was a fair deal. It took around 45-50 mins for our food to turn up as well which I get if it’s busy that’s a “reasonable” time but I work in a pub myself and if the wait time is anything over 30 mins we have to let the customers know just so they are aware. Overall not very happy with our experience and it was our first time there so I don’t think I’ll be going back to be honest. I have felt ill since I ate my meal and have been bed bound which just isn’t fair.

Excellent food service and value.

We turned up and was waiting to be seated for ages with zero acknowledgment from staff that we were even present. We decided to walk across the road to Marley’s instead and got sat straight away and food brought out to us in less than 20 minutes. I think I’d still have been waiting to be seated in the Harvester! I wouldn’t mind if it was busy, but it wasn't busy at all. Won’t bother going back.

We have always gone to another Harvester that is more local to us but lately we have preferred to go to Tarpots . This is due to the cleanliness and happy atmosphere and the salad bar is always fully stocked and kept lovely and clean and all the servers and managers are always happy and very helpful . The food is always cooked well and served hot

Food was brilliant! Loved the doughnut cheese bits. But the service I had was awful. Harry was very keen on getting out early and complained about the management holding her back. The General Manager was great but my waitress was very rude.

The best meal I've ever ate at a harvester, hot tasty , the chicken was moist , the steak was cooked perfectly . The waitress was friendly, bubbly and polite. I commented on the meal to the waitress. Would definitely recommend.

We love a Harvester. But this was our first visit to the Tarpots restaurant, after we managed to get a last minute table on New Year's Eve. The service was attentive and the food served hot. We managed to get a voucher code from the Harvester website whilst sat in the restaurant which was handy. When we first went to the salad bar, there were quite a few things missing and I was a little disappointed. But when I went back 5 minutes later, it had been well topped-up and the full selection was there. I'd definitely go to this place again.

Christmas dinner was the worst roast I've ever had family of 7 what a waste of 450 quid we were left hungry as we didn't eat it none of us really touched it we did try but it was certainly not hand carved processed pre cut meat frozen potatoes . Had Christmas pudding small but tasty would want my m9ney back if could as it was Christmas didnt wanna make a scene

We have a parking ticket weeks after the visit, we was told at the time if you get a ticket call us and we will deal with it, tried calling 8 times no answer BUT our reg should have been taken there and then

Never again! Visited with my wife, father in law and his wife. Ordered the steak, it came out virtually raw inside, I told staff who took it away, 15 minutes later I'm asked if this was OK, I could see it still oozing red from the outside and proceeded to cut it to show staff. Told them no way am I eating it now as family had virtually theirs and to be honest, if they can't get a simple steak right I won't be eating anyway. Manager came over, said I don't have to pay for it (hadn't eaten any of it anyway) said can have a free desert, incredibly cheeky when whole thing was ruined, took them up on the offer which was xmas pudding, wasn't even xmas pudding but a sponge tasting like it! Other observations were father in law had the mixed grill, his steak was red raw, staff didn't even ask how he'd like it, his wife's steak was very chewy, full of fat which she piledto the side. We actually all ended up asking for a doggy bag as was only fit for our dogs. They wanted over £100 for all this rubbish, had a 20% welcome offer signed up before ordering and had a £20 gift card but almost £60 in the end wasted. Please stay clear, it's terrible.

Now me and my family have been coming to the harvester for quite awhile now and the food has gotten worse and worse every time we have come. Last time we came, i ordered the full rack of ribs, my grandad ordered the steak and ordered a quarter of a chicken with ribs on the side. Now once our food had arrived, my ribs were PINK. Do you understand the importance of giving a Child/ Teenager Uncooked Pork?? And my grandad's Steak was rubber and fatty. You couldn't even cut it, it's like it was fighting back! We sent it back and asked for a new one and even that one was like a brick and I'll use the term loosely but your chefs do not care. Another thing, My mum only got a Drum stick of chicken? It wasn't a quarter And the ribs were fatty too, it was unbearable and she wanted to scream the place down. And To top it off three out of the five were giving free dessert while the other two had to watch which is utterly unfair. I understand the food has gone up but does that have to put the food at risk of being poor? I surely don't think so. I shan't be returning and i hope when i do there is a massive improvement!!

One of the better Harvester's I've been to unfortunately didn't eat this time was just in for a quick Christmas drink with friends. Great hostess and very friendly and knowledgeable bar staff. Had a laugh with some of the locals. Will definitely be back to eat next time we're local

Probably the best Harvester you’ll find, lucky for me it’s local. From the bar staff to the waiting staff everyone was polite and organised. There was a minor problem with one of the meals but it was resolved very quickly and without fuss, Siobhan was our host and is a credit to the restaurant.

Extortionately expensive for very ok quality food. Service was fine but food came out wrong. Ordered rare got medium. Ordered no cream on dessert, got cream.
