I’ve used this chippy for a few years as I like a curry and my wife before fish and chips so good for us both good portion sizes and value for money I must have been lucky as I’ve never had a bad one

We had fish and chips. Absolutely swimming in yellow oil. I would not recommend for fish and chips. They also do Chinese, I can't comment on that .

Very greasy chips. 1st time I have used them, will not be returning.

This used to be one of the best chippy around back in the days of Roy and Co. Horrible service, chips went right in the bin. Can not believe it is cash only still, ridiculous. Would advise anyone who reads this to just go the extra mile into rayleigh and get some decent chips

Chips were shamelessly refried in front of me and dripping in grease. Threw them away. Cash only is a massive PITA in this day and age too

Just ordered a Chinese takeaway from this place on the phone. They didn’t tell me it was cash only on the phone. So when I went to collect I then had to drive around looking for a cash machine. Just started eating it and it just tastes plain weird. Every dish looks grey and the chicken chow mien is really not nice. The most simple dish to get right. I have a feeling this is some reheated from yesterday. I won’t be going back again. Hoping I don’t have an upset stomach now…

Im sorry but this chip shop has gone down hill big time, reheated chips , greasiest fish and chips around, thought it was a 1 off but happening every time, i wont go back .

They are so friendly and helpful. Even for the fussy eaters like me. Nothing is trouble 👍

After not excepting cash, had to go to cash machine. Batter was never burnt and chips been service up before fish. Hence chips cold. Won't be going back ever.

It's great place for either fish and chips or Chinese. Both are as good as each other. Never been disappointed.

Usually ok, but visited yesterday for Chinese takeaway, chilli salt ribs not very tasty but to cap it all had long hair in, totally put us off meal, needless to say meal went in bin, will think twice before next visit

Fish and chips are decent if you go at the right time. Don't go there at opening time because they re-fry chips from the previous day. Don't go there late for the same reason. When it's, done fresh it's very tasty. The Chinese takeaway element however I would avoid completely. Not very tasty at all , again seems, like they reheat old stock.

After just moving to the area I wanted to find another Chippy other than Pegotty's near McDonalds. I went here last night for two large portion of chips and two battered sausage - it came to a reasonable £9.40. It took me around 3 minutes to get home after collecting the food and I have to say I was slightly disappointed. Some of the chips were under cooked, all of them were dripping in oil and the two Savaloy's were very hard, almost like they weren't sitting in water under the lamps. To top it off this morning both myself and my partner have had awful stomachs. This could however be un-related, that said - this is the only foreign food we have consumed to our regular diet. Not sure I'd be back to be honest.

Love the fish and chips here and also the option for chinese. As my kids normally like the Chinese and I like fish n chips Win Win!

We love the Ocean Fish bar! The fish and chips are always fresh and tasty. The Chinese is really tasty. We had our reservations as it served both cuisines but they are both equally as good. The only negative is that they do not take card and the nearest card machine is quite a trek if you don’t have a car.

I thought the food was excellent. the service was second to none. I would highly recommend it. The place was spotless and was served quickly.

Some of us fancied fish & chips some of us fancied Chinese. Boom winner right! Very wrong! At absolute best the Chinese food was terrible. The chips were limp & soggy. We only live 3 mins away and the food was tepid. Absolutely rubbish no body liked it. All in the bin.

The food is amazing here, the chips are the best in benfleet and the sausages are so good. The only negative point I would have is they don’t have a card machine and haven’t done for many years. Cash only.

Not only do they serve delicious fish and chips but also great Chinese food. The only minor drawback is that you have to pay in cash so we had to make a hasty dash to the nearest cash point !

Quality of fish and chips is very consistent, not out of this world but certainly not bad. You know what you're getting each time. Prices are fair too.

I got the first part of a DIY wig cooked in my sweet and sour chicken balls. See what you get it might a brush! I love a free gift and how thoughtful, perhaps she noticed I was thin on top. It funny how you can missjudge people because she seemed really unfriendly and not helpful in the slightest but saw I needed a bit more hair. Well done!

This is a small local fish and chips shop. Run by what I assume is a Chinese family. I use them a few times a year mainly because they are the closest to me.

I use the Ocean Fish bar often and have done for years. The food is always of excellent quality and nicely cooked. The service is always quick and friendly, which is an achievement as it is usually very busy. Highly re ommended, I look forward to many more meals from here in years to come.

Use this as a takeway on a regular basis and always get good fish and chips. Good service good prices.

We enjoy regular trips to this restaurant for our supper. The staff are friendly and the food is always well cooked and good value for money. Would recommend.

Good quality Chinese fish and chips and lots of it.

We ordered two lots of cod and chips. Fish was slightly over cooked making it a bit dry. Chips were undercooked and very greasy. Chips looked liked a mushy mess on the plate. Chips were cut very small too. Give it a miss for F & C, but it might be OK for Chinese food.

Enjoyed fish and chips. fish is good and staffs are very friendly. however, chips is not that good, feels too thick but people should try this place.

Serves traditional chippy food and Chinese take away. We've lived near here for nearly twenty years and we all love it. We've tried other, but keep returning to this one. It's tasty and very reasonably priced.

Not bad. A little on the greasy side but not bad. Well priced compared to some other Chinese restaurants. Takeaway was ready slightly too quickly for my liking (in others words it could not have been cooked fresh in the time - everything out of the microwave). I'd use it in an emergency again but will carry on looking for others in the area!

My family regulary have fish and chips together with the occasional chinese meals from the Ocean Fish Bar. The food is first rate. I have selected £1 sign because the cost is not is not disproportionate. Be surprised!

Without doubt, the best Fish and Chips around! Their Chinese food is fantastic, just try it!
