This is a takeaway but has a couple of tables where we ate. Three of us had the cod special which was freshly cooked and delicious.

Good price, very good portions, clean establishment, very good staff with excellent service.

The food was good, but I was not advised about the 15 pence charge for the paper bag. I know its not a lot of money but it's nice to be told you have to pay for it, next time I will bring my own bag what with the cost of living as fish and chips is not cheap.

Don't go here the food is nice but they spit 9n your food also if they drop any food on floor they sell it regardless as I've seen this done numerous occasions they seem nice people but behind your back they are back stabbers and just want your money

Food is uncooked and they cook and sell food off the floor and the staff are unhygienic and do not wash they hands when they go to the toilet and they don't prepare meat properly as they bring scummy meat like pheasant and rabbits in the store and contaminating everything in the shop so I would not recommend this to anyone

Very Good Quality Food, Extended Menu..If the Usual Fish and Chips don't Appeal. Very Clean. Good Service, Might be a Little Expensive. But Overall I would Def recommend.

Lovely chips from here today, freshly cooked to perfection. Plenty of them too, just right for my lunch. Polite, friendly staff with a smile. I don't live locally but if I ever need a bag of chips by the sea again I certainly know where to come. Thanks.

I've lived on Canvey Island for 25 years and I've never tasted better fish and chips anywhere else than Louis Fish Bar. Even back when he was at Islanders he was the best.

Simply the best fish and chips on the island !

Ordered a portion of southern fried 2 pieces of chicken and chips. I politely asked for 2 breast pieces. The lady serving, bluntly said no and I was only allowed one breast and one leg. The menu clearly states 2 pieces of chicken without further details. The service was rude and arrogant. They dictated to what I should have. Clearly if I am a paying customer I can request what’s on display. The older man who seemed to be the owner was also very arrogant. This is the last time I will go there. Bruno’s at the seafront on canvey island has the same menu and is always courteous polite.

Diet fish n chips. Portions so small it’s unbelievable, always have large chips between us but literally a handful of chips. Inevitably I expect prices to rise but portion sizes shouldn’t decrease. You’re basically robbing people. I’d advise people to go elsewhere

Yet another chip shop hit with inflation! Mini cods were micro cods with just a handful of chips....all with massive price rises! Another chip shop I won't be using. If you put up prices then please don't cut portion sizes.

The service was disgusting. Used to always used this chip shop as the family are great and all the chains they now have. The blonde elderly lady who served me today, I left in tears. She first off greeting me with "what do you want" I as there treating my dad to a birthday lunch before him leaving for work. I asked if that's how she normally speaks to customers and explained I have broken a few toes earlier on that day. I have extreme mental health also in pain and the way the lady treated me as a customer/regular customer has made me never to go back to this chip shop and will tell people islanders for instances is absolutely fabulous at the moment and the lady manager is brilliant. The reviews for there will explain. Such a shame staff need training on customer service to all people not just the elderly.

Used to love this shop, but pretty sure the pies are not “Pukka” ones now even though that it what they state. Minced beef and onion now comes in a blue case and tastes very different to how it used to. Have checked Pukka’s website and they state that it should still be the original red case.

Best fish and chips on the island by far

Chips horrible,a 3rd of them were bad. The cod was gray underneath and slimmey. Like frozen fish.Never go there again.

I had their spicy potatoes.took them home and popped them in the airfryer. Came out really nice.

My husband has had the worse gluten free haddock yesterday we have been using Louis for a good few year's now but not anymore he could not eat it I did suggest to him to take it back but he was so disappointed & angry. The batter was very very pale & not cook properly it wasn't crispy was like cardboard the batter was coming away from the skin on the fish. Cost us £22.45 for 2 pieces of fish and 1 large chips Not happy at all.

I had to stay quite late in Canvey last week I found Louis Fish Bar and ordered up Cod and chips. Savvakis was friendly and immaculate in his preparation, everything was worth waiting for. Freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. We have excellent fish and chips in Suffolk but if I am ever near Canvey and hungry I will go straight to Louis Bravo Savvakis Paul

Food okay but overpriced. Waited at till for a few minutes with no “hello/be with you in a second” while the blonde woman serving continued doing what she was doing without acknowledging I was waiting (shop wasn’t busy, just 2 people waiting). Probably wouldn’t visit again as zero customer service, no smile and not even a hello/thanks when ordering and paying!

26/4/22 A great place to go and eat. Friendly, helpful staff and food that is at a reasonable price. I had Hake and chips (a Louis Fish Bar Special)with mushy peas, my son had fish cake in a bun and chips with curry sauce with 2 bottles of water. This came in at just over £16 which is cheaper than anywhere near me. The Hake was excellent, cooked really well, nice and flaky fish with a crunchy batter. I would highly recommend a visit, I will definitely go back next time in the area.

What a find, looking for fish and chips by the sea. Google maps suggested this place. Staff were really helpful with our allergy requirements and food was tasty and fresh.

oh louis i wish i could say this place was amazing. but it wasnt! the milkshakes were so cold how horrific. i felt like i was going to die from the chills in my bones, my grandkids though they loved it! especially my grand daughter, i think she has a little crush on one of your workers ;)). i may come again but i expect more louis! much much more.

I visited Louis Fish Bar probably two or three days ago for the first time in my life as i am new to canvey. At first the shop looks beautiful on the outside and the inside, and the staff were friendly and kind as to guiding me around all the different fish types and flavours. The miss approved, the kids loved the food and i had the fried chicken which in my opinion was better than KFC. Definitely will go again and i recomment everyone should visit aswell. Great job guys.

Food is amazing but portion size of fried halloumi has reduced which doesn't make it worth the price anymore. Sad as it was one of my favourites on the menu alongside their chips. Before they reduced the size, it was perfect, filling and delightful. Now it's small, overpriced for the size and not as filling. Will miss it.

For Easter Friday I phoned my order in advance so my order would be ready and cooked fresh. Cannot fault the food, in fact it was lovely. Really busy, and had to cue to order and pay and also a small wait outside for the foot to be wrapped. But we’ll worth it and all the family enjoyed and finished every bit. Keep up the good work and food 👍

My daughter and I visited Louis Fish Bar as part of our tour of seaside locations. The chips were okay, unfortunately Louis didn’t make our top three. They were okay, and I would have them again however!

Stopped coming here year or so ago as it went downhill. However we started using it again since lockdown and they’ve turned it around. The food is top notch all the staff are brilliant. Ordered large rock and as they believed they never had one suitable they gave me two medium. They were cooked to perfection along with every thing else. Cheers guys, you’re doing a great job and so happy you are still going strong through these difficult times

When visiting family in Canvey Island we always make a visit to Louis Fish Bar...I've tried finding spicy spuds and their special receipe southern fried chicken (even better than KFC) in my local area for years but no such luck !!! Great choice of food even if your not into fish and chips. Would also recommend their awesome milkshakes. Roll on my next trip to Canvey Isand so I get to have my favourite meal again...Keep up the good work guys !!!

Over hyped being the echos best fish shop! Chips were soggy and raw, way overpriced! £2.95 for chips disgraceful for the quality I will not be eating here again also battered sausage soggy not nice at all
