Oyster Bay in Castle Point

Food wasn't to bad had to wait along time for it thr place its self had a nice atmosphere bit the toilets where filthy.

Okay, where do I begin from? The two girls who I met are really friendly but that’s it. The food is extremely limited. There is no imagination where food is concerned. If you do manage to pick something with your limited Choice when it arrives it’s %ucking disgusting for drinks and socialising it’s a great place.

This place does really nice Pizzas! Not really had anything else off the menu. Staff always friendly and the place has always been clean on my visits.

Went to this bar in canvey today for and a drink and something to eat , was recommended . It was fabulous the food was second to none fantastic . The staff were so friendly and helpful .

Had Cajun chicken flatbread it was absolutely delicious. Even my Mum ate it and said it was delicious. And it didn't break the bank either

Food was disgusting , 4 for dinner and not one was nice. I had red Thai noodles and tasted nothing like red Thai was floral instead of lemon grass and chilli!! Couldn’t eat it at all!!! Didn’t even offer a refund, won’t be going again.

It was very quiet when we walked in. There was only one other person there at about 2pm Sunday. It did pick up later and by about 4pm was fairly busy. One coffee and one hot chocolate came to about £5.20. Coffee was fine, but the hot chocolate lacked all the usual extras. Not terrible, just not great.

If you have cod and chips beware of the batter nearly lost my teeth but once you get past that fish is really nice

Okay…Where do I start from? The two girls who work there are lovely girls, extremely helpful and informative. They really go out of their way to help you. The food menu is a joke, needs adjusting. If you’re a vegetarian, good luck! The food is extremely basic. Would I go back again? Hell no! I would prefer to eat the grass cross the road on the sea wall. Contender oft worst good on the island. No, I’m not being sarcastic.

Came for lunch last week with the family and was met with great service & lovely food. Very kid friendly.

Oyster Bay served a really enjoyable salad which was well made, tasted great, and good value for money. We arrived on a day when they were not so busy so the atmosphere was not as lively as it might otherwise be. Next time I am in the area I wil be paying them a visit. Really impressed by the service and friendliness of the staff.

Great place, good food, nice views, great oysters

Food is decent and good value. It is fairly quiet for a pub so you maybe wouldn't go in a large group but for a small group who want to have a quiet drink and a chat it's perfect.

Visited at lunch time today and the chicken and bacon ceasar salad was amazing. Bacon cooked perfectly and plenty of sauce on the salad. Highly recommend

Never been before staff are friendly food is nice good portion sizes. Prices are reasonable have high chairs for young children . Can sit inside or outside if weather is nice .

Ordered a chicken burger and asked to only have the chicken and the bun at first they said we can’t change the menu because if too many people when I’m asking them to remove stuff but after that they come over with the burger full of mayo and lettuce and tomato if you want to go to this make sure you explain your order but good food

Went to try out their new menu and check out the new decor. We had an antipasti board to start with and it was the biggest one I have had for that money, such good value for money. We then had a burger each and my son the sausage and mash. I was surprised when his meal came out and it was a proper sausage rather than a frozen one, and the new burger buns certainly went down a treat

Recently reopened after a complete refurbishment. Is now a very good restaurant. The food and service has always been amazing here, but now with the addition of a larger menu, comfy seats and lovely decor. Thoroughly recommend a visit if you're on Canvey five star

We have been waiting for Oyster Bay to reopen after its face-lift. Its a much improved looking restaurant now. However good decor does not put bums on seats. I am told the menu is not yet finalised and I was really glad to hear that news. Considering the time the refit took the menu is a bit of a mish-mash. It looks to me if the menu is based on if it sells it stays and if not it could go, unless the menu organiser is going to be stubborn to admit their mistakes. If this is the case then I fear all will not end well. We left at approximately 7pm on a Wednesday night and left 3 others eating and one of these was a baby. Early days after a reopen I know but if this restaurant was a human it felt like it needed to be on life support. No deserts on the menu at the moment so if you are taking younger ones it looks like you can't even bribe them to behave with even an ice cream.

The service that I received today was absolutely abhorrent. My friend and I waited an hour for our meal and we had to wait and see everyone received their meal, eat it and leave right before us. Understandably we ordered Lamb Shank which may take some time to prepare. However, it should not have to take an hour. When I went to inquire with the staff the lady that responded to me was very much confrontational. I would understand if I’d approached her rudely but I was very nice and I just inquired as to what was happening. I had to ask her if I was doing anything wrong with trying to find out how longer we had to wait as it had already been 50 minutes. The chef came after 50 minutes and said they were making our meal. He told me that he would give take 5 minutes but we had to wait 10 minutes. It was explained to us that there is one chef and our food would take longer. But we were told it was going to take 15 minutes when we ordered. On top of that, after 30-49 minutes I expected that someone would come to ya and give us an update as to what was happening. But that was not the case, I had to do it myself and I was met with hostility. The meal was nice but the services could have been waaay better.

We had a lovely family meal here and it was delicious. Thank you.

can’t normally book a table it’s normally first come first serve. went down to watch the England v scotland match and was turned away as i hadn’t booked a table. there was no mention or any notice or advertisement to book a table for matches. 1 of my pals had a table for 12 but only 11 people he said i can have the 12th place but the women said no. absolutely disgusting. now i know why they’ve lost a lot of customers to jimmy macs.

Went for day trip to canvey decided to go for lunch at 1.45pm no fish and chips so ended up having scampi unappetising not nice at all the burgers looked like frozen catering wagon ones. One member of staff serving food was running her fingers through her extensions would not recommend

Came here and ordered 3 x Large Pepsis before we sat down to order food. The Pepsi was from a draught and was a basic cheap cola, the burger and chips was catering quality value range. I expected more from the prices that we were charged and from such a nice looking place. You let yourselves down

Firstly the staff are rude and customer service skills are non existent. Stood at bar for ages waiting to be served. Food was soggy and not worth the price they advertise. Toilets smelt funny. Not a nice place to go to. Would highly recommend not going here and saving your money

Normally come here quite a bit and never had any problems but took over an hour for food in a half empty bar with only a few other tables eating. One of the chefs visibly on her phone in the kitchen a number of times. Disgusting service

We have eaten here for the past couple of summers and have always been impressed with the food, but on this occasion the menu was not very appealing and the quality of the food was not good as previously.

Staff wouldn't walk down the bar to serve us! Glasses over a few tables, staff stood there checking their nails. NOT impressed. Nothing like the service in the Oysterfleet!

Wasn't great, bad smell inside like they mopped the floor with some toilet bleach. Fish was soggy, chips hard as a rock, service was none, tables dirty and sticky. Wont go back even if they'll give everything for free. Stay away.

Great little bar on the front at Canvey Island. Good cooked food and it has lots of seating inside and some outside. There is a Dartboard and Pool Table tucked away in the corner of the bar. Car Parking is 50 yards away in the pay and display on the sea front.

Big TV's, need to put the pool table out of use during big games though. Constant interruptions and blocked views from people playing during Champion's League Final which came close to causing fights. No WiFi and a minimum for card payments.
