The Hayloft in Broxtowe

Out with a friend & called into this pub by chance .Very Nice Enjoyed a Lovely Lunch,Pie ,& Sausage & Mash👍 Would Certainly recommend & return.

We visited on the way to a spa hotel for lunch. The drinks on the menu weren’t available, but the staff managed to find a suitable alternative. The food was reasonable and I really enjoyed my steak sandwich. What I did find strange was that a lady who worked there was on her laptop at a table, with someone sitting next to her with her legs on the chair - it was just a bit odd. The parking is free but there are a lot of dumped cars.

Arrived for lunch around 15:00 (Thursday), pub was quiet and had pleanty of choice where to sit in a spacious dining area. We had the Hunters chicken sandwich (very tasty filled with ample amount of filling) Mixed grill (steak was a little over temperature asked for medium was more on the well done side and the gammon was a little under done but other than that was ok) 8oz rump steak with scampi and egg topper (steak well done as asked and quite tender, scampi cooked just right, let down by the egg, came sunny side up with a good sized piece of shell embedded into the albumen.) Other than the few blips we had an enjoyable afternoon.

Great pub , great atmosphere, friendly bar staff , good drink offers my son had hunters chicken & said it was fantastic 10/10 highly recommend

My niece and I had very nice meals. The choice on the menu was excellent as was the service. The meal was very tasty. The atmosphere and ambiance was particularly pleasing. We will be dining here again.

Great choice of beer and quality food at a very good price. The 2 for 1 burger is a mega deal, cannot fault it. The managers and staff have worked incredibly hard after the refurbishment and continue to improve.

Bar staff are lovely ,the food is great overall nice vibe in there but the whole thing is let down by the atmosphere the owner causes. The owner looks miserable and clearly isn't happy to be there ,overall rude could do with taking a customer service course herself.

We visited the Hayloft tonight early. It’s recently been refurbished and very nice. However the place was full of young lads after work. Loud, no regard for those around them and lots of swearing. Not good. Visited Bank holiday Monday and just the same in terms of language. I went in years ago and it totally got out of hand with young people dominating. It eventually went down hill. It’s a question of money over comfort and families I feel. Lessons not learnt. I will not return yet live near. Couldn’t take friends in for drinks and a chat. Would hear them …

Amazing venue with lovely old features but an up to date feel also. I Had food with 2 friends, the katsu curry is delicious and a great vegan option for a friend ,there was also live music on that added to are great experience. I would highly recommend visiting the hayloft , the pub seems to cater for every individual. 😀

2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £30, what a fantastic Valentines meal...the steaks were cooked to perfection! That you can get quality like that for the money is incredible value. Great choice of beers too, this pub goes from strength to strength, testament to Colin, Sandra and their amazing staff. Long may it continue 👏

Great family and dog friendly pub. So nice to have the Hayloft as a regular place to visit again with lovely food, welcoming our children and our dog. Our dog enjoys it that much she pulls to go in each time we walk by. Really enjoy the food, especially the 3 small plates offer they do. Great for sharing.

Beautiful, family friendly pub with impeccable service. There is always such a great atmosphere and staff simply cannot do enough for you. The food is delicious! I cannot recommend this pub highly enough!

Passed this place many times over many years but yesterday Friday 12th Jan 2024 was in Ikea retail park and fancied lunch out and thought about here and glad we did. Large car park and did have blue badge parking. 2-3 steps int the pub was ok. Plenty of tables and seats. great menu and prices were good. We ordered from the pensioners specials. The food was hot well cooked and tasted very nice. The staff were very customer focussed and friendly. Could not pick fault with anything apart from why isnt this place nearer Long Eaion. Will visit again when in the area. Well done to one and all

so a big group of us whom use this pub often thought it would be lovely to have our Xmas dinner hear £24.99 a head , you would expect it would be good meal, well remember we had to put deposits down and book what we wanted in advance. gets there tables that we were told would be ready for 12.30 wasn't so ladys at the age of late 70's had to try and move tables and BROKEN chairs around , we were told to make sure there for 12.30 as busy , we sat waiting for over an hour for starters ,some didnt even get any,and well half was inedible when complained that the salad in prawn cocktail was brown and disgusting , the gentleman(manager) said he would serve /eat that its fine whats your problem. on to mains OMG cold chicken with hunters chicken (plate was hot )but not the chicken , scampi well 5 pieces and 10 chips when said again to gentleman he said well its the weight of the food and its worth the £9 , and said as a good will out of his pocket would give us few more chips , so whilst he was talking about how he has no input to the meals and like we said if u are the manager surly you could say something (his reputation) he was very rude saying we were attacking him and that because we come here every week and buy teas and coffees and have a chat (like any other customer) we should be great-full and not speak to him like this turkey had a kinda jelly consistence to it , the 1 parsnips was rock hard and even the half of stuffing ball was inedible , tried to complain again but gentleman was in kitchen ,(guessing hiding)and we were told he couldnt see us. i should of taken a picture of the xmas pudding and custard , honesty to god the two trianle slices no bigger then my thumb in length was the icing on the cake i was embrassed for the young girls as there the ones whom had to give this to us . i would give a baby weaning more to eat then that amount of xmas pudding . never have i ever been in a pub where the manager was that rude and food was alful . thats over 20 familys youve lost today .

Arrived around 2 o'clock Thursday lunchtime..Not very busy so plenty of seats to choose from.After looking at the menu there seemed to be no special offers to tempt us,just run of the mill food with their standard prices..Bearing in mind,we know of several eateries within a short drive that do special offers, including great seniors meal deals,this place was a little underwhelming and not a place we'd rush back to🙁

I went to the Hayloft for a take out of Burger and chips, the staff are so friendly and I'd been craving one of their burgers all week. The best burger in town. I would highly recommend The Hayloft

After many years of not using the Hayloft , we decided to have lunch there with friends following good reports. The visit started off badly when we were informed they had no real ale on tap only lager but we stayed and ordered food. The quality was ok but portion size was meagre for the price we paid. One positive was the staff who were efficient and helpful.

So much nicer than ever before, nice and warm surroundings, instead of a cold drafty place., helpful , polite and efficient staff, and the food was very nice. Will definitely return.

Few things on menu not available, service very slow and when meal eventually arrived food was not brilliant. No locks on toilet doors in gents. Wont be visiting again. Bar and waiting staff were very pleasant.

We came as a party of 18 on a Sunday. I booked 2 months in advance of coming and wasn’t made aware of any rules for our little boys family party. My son turned 3 that day and first thing to go wrong was the cake. We came in early to set up and a woman came over shouting that ‘she’d been made aware there was a cake on site and it needed to be removed immediately due to cross contamination’. She was so rude in her demeanour and after booking 2 months in advance and having several conversations I had never been told about this, although apparently I should have been made aware. My little boy was 3 of course there would be a cake. After this, the pub had the football on and I’d been told there was a tv we could turn off, but nobody told me just how loud it would be, that football was even on and that we would barely be able to hear each other over the speakers. We asked for it to be turned down probably five times and nothing, which quite frankly ruined the environment as we couldn’t talk. My 3 year old kept saying it was too loud also. Next the food, it all came out at massively different times, some had finished eating before others even had their meals. Now I understand we were a party of 18 but they had 2 months notice and it could have been handled better. The Sunday lunch was apparently awful, and a member of our party did complain on the day. Another thing to note is who I assume the manager is, is extremely rude. She was very short with everyone in our party ordering food and drinks, obviously had an issue with a birthday cake (which again, it’s a birthday party) and her general demeanour was awful. All in all, a horrible experience that really ruined a nice family get together for a poor 3 year old boy.

After seeing their facebook page offering kids eat for £1 during the holidays and them always being busy when we pass we decided to give then a try. We didn't book but that wasnt an issue the staff are very accommodating. Inside its nice to se they have stayed true to the roots of being a pub that serves food and not tried to become a restaurant. Everything was excellent. From the male being the bar to the waiter that brought us food (young blond lad). In fact he was very friendly offering to fetch us a high chair and noting too much trouble. Even to the manager who looked very but was always happy to chat to his customers. The food and drink was great. 5 stars just isnt high enough for them..

Sorry not a good meal did complain but not followed up. with family from Australia so did not push it 7 of us for a meal plus other family for drinks.
