Stopped in for lunch. Very friendly service and all welcoming. Menu a bit more on the expensive side but they do do a 2 or 3 course set menu. This however was not what one would expect. No one in our group chose of it. The meal I personally had was nice bit fries and mac and cheese were warm rather than hot so edible for for a slow eater would have been cold before they were even halfway through. This is probably not helped by the fact food was served on cold plates. Be aware they add on a 10% service charge to the final bill. If in the area again would check the menu before visiting to make sure there is something everyone in the party would eat.

okay so, lovely place, lovely staff, but roast dinner was not good, just so grey and flavourless, tasted like a school dinner roast. very sad was excited to try somewhere new. veg was colourless & food was so tasteless. bland potatoes tasted just like a boiled potato. beef was over cooked and dry just very disappointing. but again staff were so nice.

1 meal was great. The other tasted great, but the portion sizes were tiny, especially due to the cost! I paid nearly £10 for 5 tiny prawns. I’d hoped the main course would be better, but was also very small.. When I got home I had a round of toast! The service was excellent, both waitresses were so friendly and very professional. Overall won’t return. The food tastes nice, but the portion sizes are way too small. I don’t expect to pay £70 for 2 meals ( no drinks) and go home hungry!

For once, a Sunday roast that is better than homemade. Nice little place, informal and cosy but the food was excellent and really fairly priced. The roast potatoes were golden and fluffy, the meat soft and the gravy was great. Only £22.95 for three courses, can't complain at all.

After reading all the great reviews I was really disappointed with the Hatton Arms. The services was so slow, I must say our waitress was lovely, the manager looked really miserable so I don’t know if it was just a particularly hard shift. I had to send my food back because it was cold when it arrived and because of how long we waited I’m guessing it had been sat under a hot plate for 20 mins or so. They brought me another one out but it was just okay, nothing special and considering the meal was £23 I expected a bit more. I asked for an espresso martini and it came with no coffee bean but lots of mint leaves in it. We paid £130 for two people and overall the food was just okay. Because we were staying local I went back the next day for a cup of coffee out the rain and the male manager who was in was in was just rude and horrible, again the wait staff were really lovely. The other thing was automatically adding the service charge to the bill, it leaves a bitter taste, I would have tipped our server anyway but that should be a choice. If it’s feasible time wise go to the cafe on the locks, the atmosphere is lovely, the staff are really friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious - way better than the pub and about a fifth of the price!

Our first visit we popped in mid week for a quick bite and the food and service were both lovely so we were always intending to return - we finally did today. The decor in the restaurant is lovely and nice vibe about the place. Today we had the Sunday roast share plate.. the quality of the produce was excellent, roast chicken ( one of the tastiest I’ve had anywhere) pork with crackling, roast beef slices, parsnips, carrots, roasts spuds, red and green cabbage, cauliflower cheese, stuffing and two huge HOMEMADE! Yorkshire puddings ( that’s very important- sick of being serviced frozen packet rubbish in restaurants!) & a gravy boat. All the food was very tasty, hot and good portion size.. we almost finished it all but not quite… really good value for money. Would like to praise our server, very friendly and welcoming - attentive and quite honestly just very good at his job.. wish I’d caught his name🤦🏼‍♀️ Definitely recommend and we will be back again for sure. My only recommendation would be to warm the plates for the platter ( I am being very critical here - it’s just a personal preference for Sunday lunch )

Really disappointing meal today. We went for my husband’s birthday and arrived 45 minutes early as it started raining so we cut our walk short. We were told to get a drink and they would call us when our table was ready, I told the lady where we were sitting. 40 minutes later, no one had come over so I went to speak to the same lady and she asked me my name again and then said to follow her. There were 5 tables or more free so we had been waiting for no reason and not sure she would have remembered to come over. We ordered the shared roast board and whilst it all looked lovely, it was all at best luke warm, even the gravy. The cauliflower cheese was hot, but just highlighted the fact that nothing else was. The kids meals were fine. They did offer an alternative meal, but with the rest of the family are already eating and not knowing if the second time it’s going to be any better, I didn’t risk it. A real shame as the quality looked fine.

Most pubs that charge in excess of £5 a pint (and many that charge less) usually don’t object to sampling the ale before parting with hard earned cash. If you don’t like it, you choose to sample another. If you do this twice, it is hardly justification to show abject irritation. However, the server (young tall guy with curly hair) was clearly irritated and felt at liberty to show it when my wife decided to try some samples of ale, and instead opted for a lager. The lager she ordered was thrust down on the bar in front of us with an obvious air of irritation. Hasn’t this young guy had any training in how to deal with customers? He made us feel very unwelcome with his bellicose demeanor. I suggest this bar worker reflect on the fact his wages come ultimately from customers and that he ought to show a little more patience In future. Additionally, practically every table on the terrace and in the garden was littered with empty glasses, crisp packets and cigarette ends. It wasn’t overly busy so I’m sure someone could have busied themselves clearing up. This pub could be great given its wonderful location, but it seemed on the shabby side compared to what it used to be, and, sadly, at least some members of staff need to work on their manners.

Went as a group of three to celebrate a birthday, we each had a burger and chips at about £17 each, with drinks and starters the total bill for 3 came to just under £90. Burger was Ok but not overly great, had to wait a long time for drinks -over 20mins for one pint as barrel being changed, you cannot order drinks at the bar - have to have them bought to you. They take 10% service charge automatically added to bill which is presumptuous. We all felt the same highly priced for average fare, it's a bit 'princes new clothes' syndrome As a one off experience with friends we accepted, but a nice out of town Wetherspons can offer great food and be far kinder on your pocket.

Spent last Friday evening here, great spot by the canal for a beer but was really disappointed by some of the food given the pricing - had the chicken parfait starter. The bread was burnt and literally crumbled to bits, not sure why they’d serve it like that. Had the crispy beef too which was like beef jerky it was so overcooked and dry, honestly like a dog chew. Sent these back and the manager took them off the bill. Had the roast lamb main which give them their dues was a lot better and worth the money. The lamb kofta we had for mains as well was hit or miss, struggle to see how some dry koftas and flavourless couscous and a small bit of bread is £21.50 - overall £55 for two mains seems very steep. Beer options were good, but service was so slow on the terrace. Wanted a dessert but was fed up waiting for someone to take order so just asked for the bill.

Very Friendly waitresses. Beers was nice and glasses clean. Ordered the main meals and that was not so good. Ordered the sirloin steak and that was a bit of a mistake. I really couldn’t eat mine but the chips and sauce was really good, steak was well over cooked and tasted strange. Wife had stuffed chicken with risotto and that was not so finger licking good neither more a mush. Made the waitresses aware of the problem and made changes to the bill. The waitresses were very professional and dealt with our issues well, don’t think we have ever complained anywhere before but we had high expectations to go with the prices on the menu.

Not an enjoyable experience! On hot wednesday afternoon last week, I was served my orders of drinks in glasses at the bar for my group but then the barman immediately changed them into wobbly clear plastic cups because I asked for some food to be consumed outside on the grassed area which according to their rule "no glasses nor food are allowed on the glassed area", that is no table numbers. Alhough it's ok if table is on the tarmac a few feet away. Yet there were many others white customers enjoying their drinks in the same area. I felt unwelcome because of the barman's unfriendly attitude making no attempt to advise us to move our table to another area. We decided not to eat and drank our £24+ round of four drinks whilst watching more white customers came to the very area with drinks in the glasses.

I stumbled on this 18th cen8tury coaching inn by accident. I'm glad that i did it was such an enjoyable experience. The food, service and atmosphere was great. The place can get a bit busy because it's so popular. The prices were resonable and the menu choice was also reasonable. The toliets were clean and functional and the pub has a massive car park, so there is ample car parking space available. The inn overlooks Hatton locks where you can see the canal boats transversing up and down the numerous locks. The outside seating area is a great place to eat al fresco, especially the balcony. The public house is situated in stunning countryside. I would recommend this coaching inn, give it a try what have you got to lose.

This is should be one of the those pubs that you want to revisit but it's clear that the owner doesn't give a damn about the customer experience. Service here is comically bad. I stood at the bar 3rd in line with one very sweet girl serving. Meanwhile, 3 other staff stood 6ft away chatting about nothing, completely ignoring the queue. The irony of one of them wearing a tee-shirt with 'have a great day' was not missed. There are confusing signs outside for toilets but these are also pointless as they are closed. We won't be back.

At other places this has come in a sundae glass with lots of meringue, cream and fruit. Not this one, appeared to be one of the round meringue cases you buy in the supine a pack of six. Two raspberries and a bit of juice and the rest cream. Wouldn't go again as much better places not too far.

Six of us had lunch here on a very busy Saturday with all tables full but the service was excellent and the food delicious. The ambiance of the place is lovely and we shall go again soon.

Went here for a Sunday lunch. For the price, I thought it was OK- nothing wrong with it, but certainly nothing memorable. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Not sure they are justified in putting 10% on your bill automatically for service. Lots of places do it, and you can ask for it to be removed, but it is nevertheless a bit presumptuous for what is ultimately an average Sunday roast.

Very poor food. Vegan wellington was worse than eating un-seasoned dry wall. Service was alright. The crumble was cooked fruit compote and uncooked porridge oats on top. Would not come here again even for a free meal. Only reason I didn’t kick off was because it was Mothers Day and didn’t want to ruin my mum’s day.

We were visiting the area for a work event, spotted the pub on the way past. Glad we went, food was lovely and the staff were fantastic, really good service. We had team from the NL visiting and one had his first ever fish and chips, which is now a new favourite! thanks guys 😊

Stumbled on this pub on our way back home. Service was excellent, very fast and everyone was so friendly (sorry I can't remember anyone's name..) and the FOOD. Fishcakes were phenomenal.

What a nice place for lunch. My first time here with friends and we had a 12.00 table. Don't bother turning up any earlier as the doors won't be unlocked until 12.00. For a lunch service perhaps open a wee bit earlier but it wasn't a show stopper. Staff were great, welcoming, professional and courteous. Which kind of justifies the added service charge but I would have yippee generously anyway for service like we received. Menu isn't huge but that's sensible because food wad very acceptable. I will definitely be paying another visit to the HA when the sunshine comes back as its location next to the locks begs an al fresco dining experience! Malcolm Clarke Rugby March 2024

"A Thursday afternoon" on arrival told there was a 15minute wait for a table(could see quit a few empty tables at this point) and was asked too take a seat and we will be called which was fine. Forty minutes later was wondering what was going on so asked the woman who was front of house what was happening. She had forgot! (even tho she walked past us about 10 times and put us in the laptop). Then she showed us too are table "which was empty whole time we was there" with no menu. We was sitting there another 10minutes without a menu until we decided too leave. It seemed such a nice place in a nice location, but the service was absolutely terrible!!!!!

This is a lovely old traditional pub. It was clean and well laid out and there is plenty of parking. The staff are friendly and warm and the beer and wines are good. The only downside was the food. Our fish main was overcooked and my starter was swimming in oil/butter, not nice. The prices here are restaurant prices rather than pub grub prices but the food does not match the price. Either improve the food or reduce the price.

The Tiltyard Kenilworth Carvery 981798699 We came for a Sunday carvery and noticed they were very busy. After half an hour there was little sign of any service so we decided to leave. As we made our way to the car park someone from the pub followed us out and insinuated that we left without paying for drinks. Luckily I had payed on my IPhone so I had the time and the payment on my phone. After this he calmed down and apologised and said that the volume of business on the day Kenilworth Carvery 981798699
