Spent last Friday evening here, great spot by the canal for a beer but was really disappointed by some of the food given the pricing - had the chicken parfait starter. The bread was burnt and literally crumbled to bits, not sure why they’d serve it like that. Had the crispy beef too which was like beef jerky it was so overcooked and dry, honestly like a dog chew. Sent these back and the manager took them off the bill. Had the roast lamb main which give them their dues was a lot better and worth the money. The lamb kofta we had for mains as well was hit or miss, struggle to see how some dry koftas and flavourless couscous and a small bit of bread is £21.50 - overall £55 for two mains seems very steep. Beer options were good, but service was so slow on the terrace. Wanted a dessert but was fed up waiting for someone to take order so just asked for the bill.

the major problem here was the kitchen/service. our mains took 30 minutes to arrive. and they arrived before the starters. we asked for them to be taken off the bill. no effort was made to apologise. some of the food was ok, some was confused and seemed frozen. the music was terrible radio 1 chart music , overloud, not at all suited to the environment.

Well I little info for you people wanting alright food at a high price. All started good with some really nice starters and the views over looking the Canal and surrounding area. Very Friendly waitresses. Beers was nice and glasses clean. Ordered the main meals and that was not so good. Ordered the sirloin steak and that was a bit of a mistake. I really couldn’t eat mine but the chips and sauce was really good, steak was well over cooked and tasted strange. Wife had stuffed chicken with risotto and that was not so finger licking good neither more a mush. Made the waitresses aware of the problem and made changes to the bill. The waitresses were very professional and dealt with our issues well, don’t think we have ever complained anywhere before but we had high expectations to go with the prices on the menu.

Not an enjoyable experience! On hot wednesday afternoon last week, I was served my orders of drinks in glasses at the bar for my group but then the barman immediately changed them into wobbly clear plastic cups because I asked for some food to be consumed outside on the grassed area which according to their rule "no glasses nor food are allowed on the glassed area", that is no table numbers. Alhough it's ok if table is on the tarmac a few feet away. Yet there were many others white customers enjoying their drinks in the same area. I felt unwelcome because of the barman's unfriendly attitude making no attempt to advise us to move our table to another area. We decided not to eat and drank our £24+ round of four drinks whilst watching more white customers came to the very area with drinks in the glasses.

I visited when the revamp was done about a decade ago and was disappointed with the quality for the cost but it has changed. The food today was very good with the chilli greens side particularly good along with the pie of the day. However when you walk in the front door it’s not immediately obvious where to go if you haven’t booked a table, could do with some bar signage. The staff were helpful and nice though.

I stumbled on this 18th cen8tury coaching inn by accident. I'm glad that i did it was such an enjoyable experience. The food, service and atmosphere was great. The place can get a bit busy because it's so popular. The prices were resonable and the menu choice was also reasonable. The toliets were clean and functional and the pub has a massive car park, so there is ample car parking space available. The inn overlooks Hatton locks where you can see the canal boats transversing up and down the numerous locks. The outside seating area is a great place to eat al fresco, especially the balcony. The public house is situated in stunning countryside. I would recommend this coaching inn, give it a try what have you got to lose.

This is should be one of the those pubs that you want to revisit but it's clear that the owner doesn't give a damn about the customer experience. Service here is comically bad. I stood at the bar 3rd in line with one very sweet girl serving. Meanwhile, 3 other staff stood 6ft away chatting about nothing, completely ignoring the queue. The irony of one of them wearing a tee-shirt with 'have a great day' was not missed. There are confusing signs outside for toilets but these are also pointless as they are closed. We won't be back.

The location and setting of this pub is quite simply stunning! views over Warwickshire are incredible and on a nice summer day there are few places to match.......however......sadly I can't say the same for the food, I ordered a roast board to share which sounded great, although the pub was busy it turned up within a few sips of beer......not good in my book, It was luke warm and I honestly have cooked better roasts myself, don't get me wrong it was ok....but only just ok, I have had far better elsewhere but I expected better tbh, would I go again? for a drink yes absolutely if only to admire the beautiful surroundings, I would think twice about ordering food, a shame really as it's got everything going for it, for the price I expected at least 4 stars......it's 3 stars from me and thats being kind!

On completion of my meal I was asked how it was, I honestly answered, “the steak was not very good, as it was tough and overcooked”, I did not say it was terrible and inedible! as I did eat all the steak, however, the waitress felt it necessary to say, “it looks like it”, sarcastically meaning, well you’ve eaten it all, I paid my £200 bill, which also included the service charge, my comments were never about trying to get something for nothing, they were constructive criticism for the kitchen and should have been taken on board as such. I found this very rude and disrespectful!

Very busy and food not served in garden. Expensive for what you get, about £17.50 for a burger with some fries and mayo, no garnish. I ordered raspberry pavlova for dessert at £7.50. At other places this has come in a sundae glass with lots of meringue, cream and fruit. Not this one, appeared to be one of the round meringue cases you buy in the supine a pack of six. Two raspberries and a bit of juice and the rest cream. Wouldn't go again as much better places not too far.

Not sure they are justified in putting 10% on your bill automatically for service. What a nice place for lunch. My first time here with friends and we had a 12.00 table. Don't bother turning up any earlier as the doors won't be unlocked until 12.00. For a lunch service perhaps open a wee bit earlier but it wasn't a show stopper. Staff were great, welcoming, professional and courteous. Which kind of justifies the added service charge but I would have yippee generously anyway for service like we received. Menu isn't huge but that's sensible because food wad very acceptable. We came here on the back of many rave reviews from friends and colleagues saying this was a great place and great value restaurant. So with my parents and my family we tried it out. Unfortunately the hype did not meet the expectation. The food is good and not going to diminish that. However, the value for what you got was less than expected. There are local restaurants in Leamington that have similar quality but better prices. The ambience is pleasant with view overlooking the countryside and there is ample parking. So not a bad place, but just don't believe the hype. Difficult to say whether I'd recommend as it is not a bad place, and the food is good. But from what I was expecting I was disappointed. Try it once and if you have a good experience, then great. I probably won't go in the too near future as there are other pub restaurants around that I would like to try.

Not very good service ! We usually only go to the Hatton mainly for drinks and not eating. We booked a Boxing Day meal with family and we treated very rudely by a member of staff. Our children are young adults being 18 and 17 years old. They didn’t fancy anything off the main menu so we wanted to order 2 children’s meals each (to make up for the size) and we were informed we were not allowed to do this as they were over 10 years old ! The woman serving us stated they do this everywhere so I mentioned they do not do this at the London Bridge pub and I’ve never come across it anywhere else either and I explained it’s pretty ridiculous if we are paying we aren’t allowed to order a child’s portion due to the age restriction on the menu. You are cooking the food anyway , why does it matter the age of the person eating it? ! Absolutely terrible. My mother in law also usually order children’s meals due to portion size too. I asked for some Vinegar and she went on to say basically she will get it me after serving everyone’s food in a not very nice way Then when she has served the last dish asked if she could get any condiments so we just reiterated about the vinegar after she blanked me. The staff member had a terrible attitude problem and should not be in the customer service arena. All of the other bar staff and younger waitress were very lovely and pleasant and the cheese pie was very good despite how awkward we were made to feel by this person. Lovely pub, great atmosphere and food. Unfortunately greenwashing customers with a carbon free dinning charge, this place is constantly pumping a wood fire and plants one tree (overseas). Wake up folks!

When we arrived, we were quite excited as the pub looked fabulous inside. We were seated and immediately noticed a portable fire right next to our table. We then discovered that there was NO heating on, in this part of the pub. We ordered and when the food came, one of the party had ordered mash and got chips and mine was cold and the bread dried up. The waitress asked if she could get me anything else and I said,... not wishing to hold up the rest of the table from eating.... how long would it be, to just cook a piece of fish with nothing else. I will find out for you, she said. 10 minutes later, someone else came over to the table and asked what was the problem? She then said, "the bread is not stale, I have tasted it, it is because it is toasted and now you want the fish? I replied, I did not wish to have an argument in front of the rest of the diners,to which she replied, I am not arguing, I am trying to explain to you. Completely embarrassed, I said, please do not bother,I won't have anything. The others had already nearly finished there meal by then. We then ordered dessert and again, this poor excuse for a spotted dick pudding with a thimble full of ice cream arrived which was tasteless. One of the party ordered a small house white and was bought a large glass of wine, which had to go back. The waitress constantly put her arm between me and my husband whilst reaching over to serve our other party, just put 2 spoons and napkins at the edge of the table and walked off. No one came and apologised and then they had the cheek to charge 10% service charge and a "Carbon friendly Dining" charge on top. Looking around, the next table to us left the majority of their food and again, nothing was said. We will not be returning to this pub and on the way out, I heard another person, say the same thing. Customer service NILL.

Excellent! We were a group of 11, having just completed our 5 mile walk as detailed on the Hatton Arms website (although beware, one of the paths was closed and we had to sort a quick detour). We had a lovely welcome, great service and delicious food. Our preorder meant that the food came swiftly and was beautifully presented. We will definitely be back in the summer when we can hopefully sit on the outdoor decking with a cold beer! Highly recommended!

Arrived at Hatton arms at approx 1245 today (Friday) to a half empty pub / restaurant & to be told they were too busy to accommodate 2 people for lunch. However if you find yourself in the same situation there is a lovely cafe Bread & Co at Smith street Warwick, who were very busy but managed to accommodate us for an absolutely delicious lunch, good quality food at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend.

We work in London, live in Manchester. To find an eatery you like between the two takes some doing. The Hatton Arms has beautiful food, great staff and a lovely setting. Keep it up you lovely people!

Visited for an evening meal. Initially, there were 3 items not available on the menu, so I selected the lamb shank with veg. The food arrived looking well presented, but to be truthful, I was disappointed. The mash was lacking any flavour and could have been an instant mash for the lack of flavour and texture. The carrots and parsnips were cooked well, but so few. The meat was tough and again didn't have a great deal of flavour, and was difficult to remove from the bone. Overall, would I say it was worth £25.00, absolutely not, and neither was the service charge of £5, but for what.. bring a plate of food over. Stop adding service charges to bills to embarrass your patrons into asking for it to be removed. Not great.
