The Hatch Bar in Liverpool

On the way back from the West Country, we stayed the night at the Hatch Inn. Warm friendly welcome, comfortable room and very good food at dinner and breakfast. For a local pub/rooms the Hatch has maximised it's appeal with the facilities, presentation and Menus, A very positive experience and we will certainly return when next in the area.

Mi hermano gemelo y yo estábamos en un pub dando vueltas por esta parte de la ciudad cuando decidimos pasar por La Escotilla, hemos estado aquí antes, siempre lo pasamos bien y así lo demostró en nuestra última visita. Me gusta el aspecto de este bar, el interior es soberbio, ladrillos a la vista, decoración y mobiliario ecléctico, pantallas grandes para disfrutar del deporte y un montón de opciones de asientos repartidos por todo este bar tanto dentro como fuera con vistas a la concurrida y bulliciosa Slater Street. Estuvimos aquí un jueves por la tarde, nos dieron una cerveza cada uno de Carling Brewery, estos se sirvieron en excelentes condiciones siendo helados fríos y espumosos y como era happy hour solo £ 2. 50 p una pinta, gran relación calidad-precio de hecho en el centro de Liverpool, nos relajamos y planeamos el día siguiente mientras bebíamos nuestras cervezas. Mi cerveza estaba muy buena, es una cerveza estilo lager dorada, ligera y con lúpulo llena de gusto y muy fácil de beber sobre todo cuando se sirve helada fría como en este bar, era tan bueno estar en un bar tan encantador disfrutando de una cerveza fría sentada con mi hermano gemelo, mejor compañero de cerveza del mundo. Ambos disfrutamos mucho de nuestras cervezas aquí antes de seguir adelante y aunque nuestra visita fue solo fugaz como en cualquier otra visita a The Hatch nos lo pasamos muy bien. The Hatch es fácil de ubicar a lo largo de Slater Street, una calle famosa por sus grandes pubs y bares. El horario de apertura es; De lunes a jueves, de 15h a 2h. Viernes a domingo, mediodía hasta las 4 am. Vale la pena comprobar si estás en la zona.

really rude and aggressive bouncers. pushing us out of the way and accusing us of pushing in the queue when we had queued for over an hour.

My wife and went on a normal August day, about 19 degrees but inside for some reason it was about 12 degrees thanks to the air con, why? Who knows but that said it was a nice big bar with loads of tv' for sporting events and a very pleasant, friendly lady who served us, we would go back

Absolute appalled at the bouncers of hatch last night. After requesting to re enter the bar as my girlfriend has lost her bag one of the bouncers proceeded to headbut me breaking my nose. I showed absolutely no levels of aggression towards him, his actions Ehere purely violent. As someone who has been on nights outs all over the UK I am aware the stereotype for bouncers exists, but this is too far. Bouncers should be there to protect, assist and look after people both inside and outside the club. For someone who previously enjoyed a night out in Liverpool it is a shame that this has to ruin it, me and my friends will not be returning.

Lights! Camera! Action! The Hatch bar Liverpool was something right out of Hollywood's silver screen. The sights and sounds left me both mesmerised and enchanted. The barwoman Jade was an absolute geezer. 💯

Relaced atmosphere but TV was a bit load

First time in here and food was good and service was friendly, would definitely go back.

Asked for two cocktails of the 2 for £8 menu.. only to be told that they have to be the SAME coctail.. even when pointin out that it does not state that, then the barman saying it does on the shots! Menu !! Definately a lack of customer is correct and just a lack of willingness to either understand or realise how advertising works.. shame was a spoil to end of lovely day in liverpool..oh and yes i have picture of drinks menu..

Great live music last night. Probably wasn't promoted enough but it worked out in our favour, felt like a intimate gig.👏👍😍👏👍😍

If you want value for money The Hatch is the place to go. Two meals and two drinks £12. The meals are sufficient but not over facing. The place is spotlessly clean and staff very friendly. Few yards from The Cavern, so good location.

Average score as they lacked any ales and only had lagers. The table we sat at was sticky so we moved. The next was fine. Staff was helpful and friendly. Would use again if in the area.

Very comfortable, good prices on food and drink

We visited the Hatch Bar during the afternoon of the late May bank holiday. To be honest, we had never been in there before so we just decided to drop in for a quick drink. There weren’t too many people in there which really surprised us as the bar was clean and tidy, staff members were pleasant and polite and the happy hour prices were cheap! We really enjoyed having a drink in there!

Als „Frühstück“ hat man hier die Auswahl zwischen Instant-Porridge, Croissant, Toast, Beans, Bacon, Würstchen, Muffins und Obst. Das Ganze gibt es zur Abholung am Tresen auf Pappgeschirr mit Plastikbesteck. Geschmacklich war es, bis auf den Tee unterirdisch. Selbst der Kaffee eine Frechheit.

They have a great deal of 2 meals and 2 drinks (wine and beers including) for 12 £. We had beef lasagne and jacket potato with tuna and were good.

Always call into the hatch bar when in Liverpool. Lovely food. Nice atmosphere and family friendly. The staff are always great, and fab views if you like to watch the world go by! I must try the cocktails next time I visit!

Good meal value for money . Were there late afternoon when not very busy.Staff helpful and food was hot with hardly any wait to be served. Lacking on toilets which could be a problem when place is busy.

Reunion for uni mates. Just the 25 years ago ! Nice bar to watch the toon play. Friendly service and much nicer atmosphere than most of the Matthew St bars. Great burger and fries. V tasty. Nice beers as well. Enjoyed it !

Would never have tried this as it is a sports bar, however our usual place to eat when in town was closed.

After a lovely morning on the magical mystery tour and a visit to the cavern myself and 9 friends headed to The Hatch bar , hoping to get a table ... The lovely gentleman pushed tables together for us very quickly ... from start to finish the service was brilliant .. and the food we ordered was very good .. £12 for 2 meals and 2 drinks ... bargain ... everyone enjoyed their meals which were served nice and hot and in good time to fit our busy schedule... Thankyou vey much to all the staff it was a pleasure visiting ..

We were a group of 10 visiting 'The Cavern' and then having lunch. By chance we found 'The Hatch Bar' and had a truly fab meal. We each had a drink and a meal for £6 and were amazed at the quality of the food and the friendly and efficient service. This is definitely the place to go if you are in the area of 'The Cavern' as it is only a couple of minutes away. A credit to Liverpool.

I love this place. Granted we used to go in when it was 2 meals for a tenner now they've upped the price to £12, scandalous I know. However the staff are wonderful and a good laugh which keeps us coming back. The food is really really good. Have the lasagna, just do it for god sake.

Bar inside the Euro Hostel. If you're staying in the Hostel ask for Hostel discount. Friendly staff and prices are cheap

Would be nice if there was baby changing units, I love this place and the food. Make it a bit more child friendly.

Nice quiet place. Affordable prices. A good rest from the touristic mayhem nearby. Spacious and comfortable. I think it is also a hostel, I think. Staff are really nice. Ideal to watch sports, too.

Hubby and I love going to different cities and visiting local pubs. We visited several in Mathew Street and this one did not disappoint x

A cheap and cheerful bar with a decent range of beers, ciders and spirits. A nice big screen for watching sports events and a range of bar and booth seating. Burger and beer for £6 was most welcome. The burger is wrapped up like a takeaway burger with no sides, but it was still decent and you can't argue with the price.

Went to hatch once a week when I worked in Liverpool City Centre.The two for £10.00 is small but great value for money. Nice food and friendly staff.

El precio (respecto a otros bares de la zona) es muy bueno, además, los sábados de noche tenés música en vivo con una banda del local que es muy buena (Creedence, Beatles, Stones, Oasis, ZZ Top). Las pintas las venden bien frías y hay bastante buena variedad. Ideal para cenar antes de ir al Cavern.

Only came here as the place across the road we were going to go (para ti) had it's shutters down for no apparent reason. 2 meals and 2 pints for £10. Bargain. Pie and mash was lovely too.

Go before 6pm and try the two meals for a tenner, very good, home cooked and you get a drink included in the price,glass of house wine or some beers.

This place is amazing, the venue itself is stunning, the chef Zoe put together a fantastic buffet which we had so many compliments on. Throughout the entirety of my party planning that spanned across 6 months, the manager of this venue, Stacey was attentive, pleasant and helpful, providing assistance with anything we needed or any questions or problems we had the entire time.

Had my cousins hen party in the hatch bar last night. It was fantastic !! Stacey the manager couldn’t help enough. The staff was the same and nothing was a problem . I’d really recommend it. We will be back . Thank u guys

Nice location, friendly staff, good prices. Chips were good but the chicken pie was the frozen type you'd get in the states and we had to share one gravy as the second had a dead fly on the spout. Good place if you're just out for drinks.

Went there today with my mum and 2 nieces. My mum had jacket potato and me and my nieces had the all in burger with fries. Absolutely gorgeous. Burger was delicious, chips was nice and crispy and even the side salad was nice. Great value as well. Would highly recommend. Staff also very friendly.

Set in the old, iconic Wade Smiths building, ince id got over the fact they weren’t flogging Lacoste trackies and Boss cardies, I had a drink.

My friend and I booked The Hatch bar for our birthday party. The whole transaction was fantastic! The venue was perfect, clean and had everything you could need. The staff were excellent and we were well looked after throughout the whole process. The crew at The Hatch Bar were exceptionally accommodating and offered us everything from buffet food for the party to hostel rooms for the night. We had a great time and I would 100% recommend. Book this place!

Our waiter Ryder made all efforts to make our night here unforgettable!. If you are fortunate to meet him, ask him for his rendition of bohemian rhapsody!!! The absolute king, Freddie got nothing on him! Highly recommended!

We were walking near the St Michaels lane, near Beatles territory, when we were considering what to do for lunch. Saw that this pub had a lunch deal, which was 2 meals and 2 drinks for £10.

We just happened to go into this bar as another bar was full and we were all hungry. With a five star rating for food we would definitely say they deserve it. Food and service was brilliant the 2 for £10 was an absolute bargain. We would definitely recommend this bar 100%. The only thing I would say is they need more toilets one for men and one for woman isn't enough when it's full. But overall amazing

Io personalmente ci sono stato solo per la colazione, ove ti fanno un menù e con una spesa di 4,5 sterline scegli 5 cose dal menu, mentre se ne vuoi di meno paghi una sterlina a ad ingrediente.

We went here for lunch I had chicken and mushroom pie and my daughter had chicken curry. We were promptly served and the food was really nice. Also very cheap for such good quality food. Two meals and drinks for £10.

Fabulous atmosphere & food. So good we came back the week after & booked a room. Very clean & friendly, home made food & drinks are really cheap. We can recommend it highly if your looking for a great day/night out with good food & great service. Loved the live music from RedHouse. Overall 5 star.

Discovered The Hatch on our visit to Liverpool on Thursday. Lovely place, friendly staff and the meal deal 2 mains and 2 drinks for £10 was not only a bargain, but was very tasty. So tasty in fact we went back the next day to try another. Would definite reccommend you visit

My husband and I popped in for one drink on Saturday afternoon whilst we planned the rest of our day. The best laid plans.....we stayed here all day. Fab atmosphere, great staff and prices and lovely great value food. Couldn't ask for more. Thanks guys, will be back soon. Don't walk past this place!!

We went in here on Saturday night, 29th July, 7 of us, wanting drinks and a game of pool, not many in considering it was Sat night on Mathew St, waited, and waited, and waited at the bar, 3 staff were working, not 1 looked at any of us, even to say, " we,ll be with you in a moment" they were pouring trays of shots out, who for we had no idea as there were only us 7 at the bar, after waiting over 10 minutes we left, still no acknowledgement from any of the staff! Maybe we were invisible! Explained why there were hardly any customers in though.
