me + a mate went out into oxford for a change + went into Jerico area to the back street pubs, we had a few drinks in different pubs we ended up in The Harcourt Arms which had 3 guys playing + singing the place was busy but only the landlord serveing so not to long a wait, the garden is all slabed with plenty of seating + being enclosed it wasnt to hot with a big tree giveing shade. its a place i will be going back to in a few months with a nice atmosphere + live music also great ale

Went for drinks on Saturday with some friends, had a great night dancing away to the reggae music, lovely beers on tap as I’m a big fan of fullers brewery.

Never disappointed with this place a nice sanctuary of calm with good beer

We came for a live music night. The atmosphere was incredible. It's clearly a loved by neighbours and visitors alike. It's a cosy English pub with friendly staff and a very Oxford ambiance. I'll be back for more live music

We popped in here when we had a few hours to kill before a dinner reservation. What a great pub (and a plus for us not showing any sport!). Good range of beers, friendly staff, cosy open fire, old school vibes. Would definitely come here again when in Oxford.

Dropped in after a 45 year hiatus, a great range of beers and spirits. Large garden and a massive surprise live music. A three piece band that had the whole pub jumping.

An excellent place to enjoy a Saturday night with friends. As the place was very busy, bar service took a while, but it didn't affect the experience too much.

Visited here twice during visits to Oxford, in the last year. Good beer and live music on each occasion. First time was an indy band indoors and most recently an excellent modern jazz trio, in the beer garden. Jericho has numerous fine pubs and this is my favourite. Warm welcome from the landlord, Ian, a top Manc 😉

Just what you would expect from a local pub. A convivial host and a good friendly team. To a cute enclosed secret garden. But don't tell anyone....

Shock horror!! My original.rwview is below BUT!! Walked into my most favourite pub in Oxford only to sne tge sweetly sickly snell.of somrone vaping and not even in the garde but in the bar. When I complained to the bar maid she said the people working worked there! Wgen I asked her if the landlord Ian, great guy, knew propke were vaping on the bar she blanked me!! NOT IMPRESSED! The lunatics have raken over the asylum!! Why can't vapers just sit outside!! Why does everyone else have to smell snd breath in their pollutant. My 5 star pub has just dropped to ONE STAR! Wrote this 5 star review 8 months ago - this is my most favourlte pub in Jericho - Such great ale selection in a cosy pub with attentive staff and top landlord.

I live locally and have been visiting this pub on and off for a few years now and it simply keep getting better and better. 2023 will see more of us here! We ended up popping in for an impromptu Friday night only to be greeted by some amazing live music and just the perfect pub vibes. Whether you're local or tourist, highly recommend. Great selection of beers, spirits and wine.

Not pretentious in any way. Just good ale and space both inside and outside at the back behind the bar area. If the fire is roaring in winter the main room can be really cozy. Mostly students and longer-term local residents many known to the landlord and his son: a genuine local pub.

I guess this might be out local. It’s a pub, not restaurant. Ian, owner, is always around. It’s just a great place for a pint or two. They have music nights that are not be missed. A diverse range of customers from students to retirees.

It's really nice atmosphere. A more traditional style pub with garden. It is a local corner pub, but is spacious, calm, clean, with great service.The garden has some nice plants and some heated areas. They often have music events on. It's a good place.

Best pub in Jericho by miles. No food just a proper old pub. The landlord is gorgeous and can't do enough for you. I love the eclectic furniture and the big garden allows fascinating music. Love this place.

We were moored up on our narrowboat on the Oxford Canal nearby. I was made welcome along with Vera, my black Labrador, who was given a bowl of water when we were seated inside. There is also a beer garden. Great service and a good range of drinks. Tastefully decorated traditional British pub in a nice area. This pub contributes to the rejuvenation of the Jericho Wharf area of Oxford. Nice pint of Fullers London Pride.

Ian is by far the best and most hospitable pub-owner in town. Harcourt Arms is a real pub with character. Also try the peach beer, really refreshing.

Lovely pub. Visited with our daughter, who is in University near by. It was so nice to be order drinks from a real menu and person and not via an app. Great atmosphere, we'll be back next term and hopefully catch the live music next time.

A fine pub serving a wonderful selection of ales. Equally pleasant during winter with a roaring fire in the hearth, or in the tranquil garden at the rear during the summer months. Much less hubbub than in the pubs on Walton st. or the city centre and the atmosphere is always welcoming.

When you first see it on the streets, the expectations might not be as high. But actually walk in and find a hidden garden full of atmospheric and cool designs. Price is alright, good English pub.
