The pub, settings, area, staff and cleanliness all excellent but we were terribly disappointed in the Sunday roast. Firstly the roast pork was NOT roast pork. They were thick pork medallions obviously bought at the butchery or shop. Definitely not sliced roast pork from a leg of pork. They were pale, thick, tough and absolutely tasteless. The Yorkshire puddings were floppy and extremely soggy and the roast potatoes were slso soft and soggy. There was nothing nice about the whole meal and we had to send it back and have the Special which was an apology for a lasagna. The staff were very pleasant and apologetic and in answer to our questions admitted that the pub changed management and chef in the last 3 weeks. Needless to say we will never go there for a meal in the future.

Three of us had sunday roast dinner and one had a chicken and cranberry baguette. All the meals were delicious, well presented and very tasty. We followed up with desserts all of which did not disappoint. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and polite, excellent service all round. We sat on the patio to eat our meals so we could enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful surroundings. We will definitely be returning, and even booking an overnight stay. Highly recommend this beautiful riverside pub.

I’ve used this pub for as many years as I can remember. Seen many mangers come and go. Had some great meals here in past. The new managers really need to review the prices on food or up the quality ! Been 3 times now since new owners have took over and not been impressed at all by the food So won’t be going back. Had the faggots one of the times and although they were ok it was very small portion. As was my wife’s meal. Dropped in Sunday gone to just give it another go for a Sunday lunch. Oh dear ! 1 slice of beef. Few potatoes. Small portion of veg most seemed like frozen ( the beans definitely ) small frozen yorkie for £15 !! Like I say over priced and needs quality and standard improving for that price Staff however are great. Place has so much potential just seems like they want max profit for low quality food

My family of 13 visited yesterday. I originally telephoned the pub to pre book a table on 7.8.24 and spoke to Tami who sent me the menu through to pre order beforehand. As we had 2 dogs they let us decide if we wanted to eat inside or outside weather dependant. Tami is an outstanding asset to the company and all of the staff worked tirelessly. 5* review and will definitely return

Visited again having previously eaten there a couple of years ago. Enjoyed an excellent meal in a warm, clean & welcoming environment. Good value for money at a great riverside location. If you’re in or around Stourport on Severn, would recommend the 10 minute drive to enjoy the Hampstall Inn & it’s location.

A group of us boaters visited the Hamstall Inn for an evening out. The moorings are great, nice and sturdy and plenty of room for several boats. Great selection of beer and the food was delicious too.

Came for lunch on Saturday 16/09/23 which was our 2nd visit here. Both visits we had similar dishes, i had the beer battered haddock and chips, my partner had a cheese and onion sandwich on ciabatta bread which though not listed on the menu, The Hampstall Inn was happy to make. We shared a cheesy garlic bread. Both dishes were superb and thoroughly enjoyable. I had a couple of pints of HPA which were in excellent condition and thoroughly enjoyable. My partner doesn't drink alcohol and had blackcurrant squash and tap water. The service was excellent throughout, no long waits for anything and that included our first visit which was busier than the second. The Hampstall Inn is a lovely venue in a lovely setting by the River Severn. It is also very reasonably priced and my partner and I though we live more than 30 miles away do intend on coming back at least twice a year, It definitely a favourite of ours. Very clean too.

Arrived for lunch around 2.30 and the tables on the patio were dirty from previous diners ( needed a good wipe off ) . Despite being no other customers there this wasn’t done nor did we see any tables wiped while we were eating . Staff more interested is having a laugh and joke than doing any cleaning . Food was ok but ciabatta would have been nicer if it had been warmed up. Nicely presented however. For somewhere out of the way a few tweaks would make a difference

My family went for Sunday dinner to celebrate some gsce result’s and it was brilliant. We had Sunday dinner and burgers and they were both incredible and will be coming back again. The prices and service was amazing would definitely recommend

Lovely food nice relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a quiet pint or lovely meal. We go with our children and as a couple friendly staff and brilliant view of river.

We visited The Hampstall Inn while on the River Severn on our narrowboat. This is a nice pub in a pleasant setting and a beer garden overlooking the river. Our dogs were made very welcome, lovely man behind the bar, typical pub grub and a good choice of well kept Wye Valley ales. It has its own mooring pontoon for passing boats (a lovely spot to stay overnight). We will definitely visit again next time we’re in the area.

One of our favorite Riverside pubs. Seems like change of owners, food has gone downhill.. We arrived at 12.30pm lunch time ordered drinks & food , when we had paid & seated we were told their would be half hour wait for our food ,as they had a table of 8 they were seeing to ...45mins later our food arrived..my husband ordered the faggots & mash ...the faggots were rock hard on the outside /inside & the bottom was soft obviously over cooked ..the mash did not look like mash looked more like mashed up cous cous ...was full of lumps ..i ordered ploughmans ,the bread was stale their was dressing on the back of the cheese , the ham was not cooked properly ...very dissapointed

Terrible Sunday lunch.all veg and roast potatoes rock hard not cooked.girls serving were lovely and friendly and apologised but for nearly £70 with our drinks it was a dear lesson learned..hopefully we can save some others wasting their money ..

Poor show from the Hampstall. Took me half an hour to walk down and I arrived at 22.15hrs on Saturday evening only to be told upon arrival that the bar was closed and they were cashing up. The website states that it closes at 23.00hrs. Poor management. The pub should honour its publicly stated closing time.

Beautiful place by the river, we visit regular, during summer months. I always tend to have steak ,comes with chips salad , peas mushrooms, the works really . Husband had curry rice & naan , naan was small probably the size of your hand, when the Guy asked if everything was okay while we were eating my husband said naan could do with being a bit bigger, he immediately fetched him another one and apologised. rmeals were beautiful as always , we have never had a bad meal,and will be their today spring bank holiday may.

We booked a table at least a week in advance for 2pm on Easter Sunday to dine two adults and a 3yr old. On arrival we was greeted and seated quickly. A drink was served on the table straight away a long with menus to browse over. People arriving after us are being seated either side and communicated to while the dining room is filling up. At least 35 minutes has passed since we arrived and the staff haven’t been to see if we were ready to order. The three of us are sitting with empty glasses awaiting communication. A quick glance at the front of house staff and they are all stood talking behind the bar drinking tea and coffee while the guy in the kitchen has come out to take the orders from the table behind us, their dinner arrives a short time after. Thinking this was odd I decided I would go for a walk up to the bar and ask to place a food order myself. Skipping starters now as our little girl getting very hungry and is starting to get upset because she would like some food. We decided to just go with mains as we needed to get some food for her soon. Our order was taken, sat back down patiently …still looking at our empty glass and it was clear no upselling was not happening and we waited another 30 minutes. An hour now passed in total, So we had another visit to the bar and asked if we could settle the drinks bill and sadly we will be on our way to find somewhere else to eat. Great for a drink in the sun next to the river. Cannot comment on the food but the service and communication was some what of a nightmare sadly ,it could have been a £100 plus cover. Such a shame. Would still recommend giving this place a try to others as it’s located in a beautiful spot, but on the day we had a bad experience.

The Hampstall Inn was a welcome surprise to our little holiday in a cottage literally a minute away. The inn is in a wonderful location overlooking the river Severn with lots of seating outside on a private terrace or down on the river bank. The staff are lovely & go beyond being helpful. They have a good selection of beers & wines & the menu is adequate for a family dinner. The prices are very competitive & the portions are generous. We all loved the amazing burgers. We really can't recommend a visit to the Hampstall Inn enough.

Excellent Choice of steaks, service was very good and a beautiful outlook over the river. Boat moorings too. One of the best steaks I’ve had in a while. Menu looked very good and the deserts looked amazing too.

As part of the eat out to help out campaign, decided to give them a go after hearing good things, well we definitely weren’t disappointed. Didn’t have a starter but the menu looked interesting, I had the fillet steak cooked medium with no blood which a lot of places get wrong, usually undercooked but this was perfect, slightly pink but so tasty, my wife had the salmon steak and she said it was gorgeous, both meals were presented beautifully and we shared some onion rings that again were cooked perfectly. Add to that they are dog friendly as well and we couldn’t have been any happier, the staff seemed very pleasant and helpful and seemed to enjoy being there, looking forward to our next visit

I’ve not eaten at the hampstall inn for over 20 years when it was scampi n chips in a basket in a spit n sawdust type pub. It’s been renovated over the last couple of years.The outside is very presentable with a nice patio area. During this crappy time of covid, they have put all the relevant measures in place. The staff are very attentive and welcoming. The menu has a decent selection to chose from without leaving you reading for hours. The food.... well. I cannot fault it, I had the mixed grill and it’s the first time in a longggg time I’ve been beaten. Quality ingredients used, cooked well. I was with a party of 4 and we all had different meals and all thoroughly it’s. Our only disappointment was we couldn’t fit in a pudding. Definitely going back soon.

Had a really good dinner, our waitress Faye was lovely, very friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding, steaks cooked to perfection, the fish was half a whale, and the hunters chicken very tasty. Seating was comfortable, and the restaurant was warm and welcoming. There's a good seating area outside, and some table's by the river, great to unwind. There was a shortage of wine, no rose,and only a few whites and reds,but a good selection of gins and beers made up for it, all in all a great night.

Food is the best we’ve ever had at the hampstall. The new management are very nice and made us feel very welcome. We stopped coming after the awfull food served before but we will definitely be back on a regular basis. I can’t recommend this place enough Come back folks and get a taste of this fantastic pub

Went for a family dinner here could not fault the place food amazing staff very friendly, went at night but will definitely go back during the day as the view sitting by the river looks stunning, clean toilets and whole restaurant and bar spotless.

This was the first time I had been here + found everything very clean + decor was modern + tasteful. The table was reserved for us,the restaurant was warm + the man behind the bar was very welcoming+ friendly. The menu was appealing + very reasonably priced, cooked freshly + very tasty, the steak + ale pie was delicious. There are childrensmeals available, my granddaughter loved hers. This is definitely somewhereI will return to. It was very enjoyable.

I booked a table of 17 for my family, having not been to the place I surprised and pleased to see how it had changed. The service was very slow but the Sunday roast was nice, but the veggies were very undercooked! The meat was nice, though not enough of it!

This is the first time I have ever been to this pub. The staff were amazing. They were friendly and bubbly. The food was stunning and really well presented. When I walked in the pub there was a really warm welcoming atmosphere. Would highly recommend this pub. And as a bonus it is dog friendly.

My friend was interested to revisit the Hampstall to see what difference the refurbishment had made. Given some of the negative reviews we weren’t altogether surprised to find we were the only people in the restaurant, however we decided to go ahead & order lunch. My jacket potato with tuna mayo was mediocre, quite hard in the middle & although butter was provided there was far too much mayo filling to find room to add the butter. However my friend choose the gammon & was pleasantly surprised as it was very nice. The accompanying chips & egg were obviously freshly cooked & the chips despite a lack of seasoning were piping hot, just as they should be. The pub is in a lovely setting by the river & the refurbishment has given it a nice modern update it is just a shame about the lack of customers on the day we visited. Given the setting it could be a special place to visit especially if the menu was more interesting & the food & service could be guaranteed.

This is local to us, great location, very friendly and excellent choice of beers. We have eaten here on several occasions and the food has always been excellent when it eventually arrives. Not sure why it takes so long but always have to wait 45 minutes or more, unacceptable and needs to be addressed.

Great setting with the river and views. The bar staff very friendly and a clean place. But the food was very poor. Uncooked chips and ordered the steak and ale pie but they had no pastry. So served meat and gravy and raw chips. Not offered an alternative. Starter had no dressing on the salad just some leafs and bland overdone whitebait. Go for a drink and pack of crisps and would be a lovely afternoon visit.

Went for a birthday party great meal and the staff were great. They had a live band The Presidents they were so funny, the pub was rocking until after 12. I would recommend it to anyone but l suggest you book your table

This was my third time here since the refurb. First 2 times where gd. But today was terrible. Had the home made chilli ! If this is homemade the chef wants sacking. So bland. No taste. Made with cheap frozen mince and a few kidney beans thrown in. Had to leave half of it. Wife’s fishing samehich wasn’t much better. The from of house staff are the only reason I’ve gave 2 stars as the are v good. The food needs sorting out. As I won’t be going back. Really was the most tasteless meal I’ve ever had.

Went for a celebratory meal and left feeling very disappointed; never have I had such a terrible meal! During our visit, the majority of the resturant sent their meals back as did we. However, after complaining we were not offered any explanation or apology nor a discount. Can not recommend to anyone as food was over- cooked and inedible. Steak was burnt and chewy, fish was all batter and no fish, burger was also burnt.
