My friend and I have just had a midweek visit. 4 nights Monday to Friday bed and breakfast. We also had evening meals every day. And lunch 1 day. We both have a dog each. The pub itself A 16th century pub in a pretty square. Quaint . A great roaring open fire. Dogs are allowed in the bar area where tables were reserved for us with our pooches. Some places say dogs are welcome when in fact they mean dogs are tolerated. Our dogs were welcome . Accommodation Spotlessly clean room. A comfy bed. TV. Good pressured shower and a bath. Tea coffee etc supplied. And refilled when needed. Also provided fresh milk with a small bucket of ice when requested to keep the milk cool. Installed hairdryer. Unexpected. Meals and pub Brilliant food. Always hot. New specials everyday due to local supplies. And plentiful! Chef also extremely accommodating. Owners and staff What can I say. A brilliant team. We actually felt like a home from home experience. Remembering what we like to drink. A good thing in my mind ! Every member of the team was on a first name basis and were warm and friendly. I cannot recommend this place more. Normally I'd find something to pick on..but I can't! I wish the team and owners Hayden and Kim the very best for their future as this is a new expedition for them and trust me they are doing a fab job.

Just had lunch at the Half Moon at Sheepwash Devon. Everything about it was excellent, a real cut above all the rest. The food is cooked to perfection, even the chips are the best, still crisp after a coating of vinegar. Had a glass of some of the nicest cider thatchers dry, a real dry one for a change. The second time I have had lunch there in a month and I will be going back. Beautiful pub in a Beautiful Village. I cannot recommend the Half Moon Sheepwash high enough.

Staying with friends in a holiday cottage on the same square as the Half Moon, it seemed churlish not to go in and try the food. We were so glad we did! Generous portions of well cooked food, the menu changing slightly each time so that we all had something different to try. The waiting staff could not have been more helpful, cheery and accommodating, remembering us and chatting to us while serving. They also happily accepted our doggy pal Loki and gave us a space where he wouldn't be in the way. Local ales and ciders were tried and enjoyed too, of course! They also provide accommodation, but of course we didn't need that.

I stayed at the Inn after wimping out of my first glamping (not so glamorous) experience. I spoke to a lovely lady on the phone (turned out to be the wonderful Anna) who said they had room at the Inn! I was greeted with a warm welcoming smile belonging to the wonderful Anna. She checked me in and escorted me to my room. On the way there she told me everything I needed to know for my stay and took me to the annexed building. It was a lovely, comfortable room with everything I needed. After a peaceful, warm night's sleep I received a phone call from Anna around 9.40am asking if I was coming for breakfast. It was such a thoughtful gesture especially as they stopped serving breakfast at 9.15am! I would strongly recommend staying at the Half Moon Inn!

We recently had a very pleasant afternoon at the Half Moon Inn whilst holidaying locally with parents, granddaughter, grandparents and Auntie! It was so good to visit a real traditional pub, with wonderfully helpful landlord and staff and we were made to feel very welcome. We didn't have lunch on this occasion but the scotch eggs were tried and tested.....home made, huge and the boys said the best scotch eggs they'd ever had 8-).....Annnd they had my favourite Tanqueray Gin, what's not to love! Would definitely recommend.

Our local Gardening Club visited the half Moon for our annual Christmas Dinner and what a good time we all had. The proprietors were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Our room for the evening was beautifully decorated with Christmas garlands and each table had balloons and crackers and other Christmas goodies. The menu was very extensive and the food piping hot and well served catering for all dietary needs. At the end of the meal there was coffee or tea in abundance and complimentary mini mince pies which were very moreish. We liked our meal so much that we booked our next years Gardening Club Christmas Dinner at the Half Moon again!

Had a wonderful lunch at The Oxenham. We have eaten here many times and keep coming back because we are never disappointed. The food was exceptional, very good value and the lovely Fran was very welcoming and could not have looked after us any better. I always have the steak because I cant get a better one anywhere else. We will return as soon as we can.

Found this amazing farm last year. That time we had a tour around the farm, cider tasting, home made scones and coffee. The tour was fantastic. Really enjoyed and learnt so much about running a small business, how cider is made and historical facts and legends. Well worth a trip. On that occasion we purchased lots (and I mean lots) of assorted ciders. We returned, with empty bottles this year and replenished our cupboards. Great to support a small business and great tasting cider.
