Would give 5 stars but it's the most freezing cold pub in the world!!! Due to them having the air conditioning on full blast when it was sub zero outside (12th Jan) in fact it was actually warmer outside before coming into the pub!! I asked a member of staff if he could turn the air con off or the heating up and he said he would but nothing changed!!

After being brought our food which, naturally, we assumed this was our order. After all, the food had been brought directly to us, and there was no indication otherwise. We tucked in—only to be abruptly accosted by a member of staff. Apparently, this food was not ours, despite being plonked directly in front of us by their team. What followed was the most bizarre display of managerial incompetence and customer mistreatment I’ve witnessed in recent memory. The manager, rather than acknowledging their team’s error, decided to double down. Despite the fact that their mistake had led us to eat the food, they insisted we pay for it. Yes, you read that right: Wetherspoons managed to redefine the concept of “customer service” by demanding we shell out for food we hadn’t ordered but were misled into consuming. When we politely pointed out the glaring absurdity of the situation, the manager’s response was to mutter dismissively and turn their back on us—hardly the diplomatic touch one expects from someone in charge. Moments later, we were presented with the bill for food we didn’t want, hadn’t asked for, and had only partially eaten due to their own incompetence. It was as if Wetherspoons had decided to pioneer a new business model: Force-feeding customers mystery plates, then charging them for the privilege. To add insult to injury, our drinks—ordered and paid for—sat warming on the side of the bar. The staff, though not particularly busy, refused to bring them over, forcing us to fetch them ourselves. At that point, it seemed the Wetherspoons team had collectively decided to embody the phrase “not my problem” in its purest form. In the end, we left bewildered, frustrated, and feeling thoroughly unwelcome. The lack of accountability, the rudeness of the staff, and the sheer arrogance of the manager made for a truly surreal experience. Mistakes happen—we understand that—but what separates a good establishment from a poor one is how they handle those mistakes. Wetherspoons failed spectacularly on all counts. Save yourself the trouble and head somewhere—anywhere—else. At least there’s a chance you’ll only pay for what you ordered.

Family friendly. Sad to see such a big chain only had one staff member on each section. Place definitely 11/10! Of our many trips around Europe, few places have made such a big impression on us. The price/quality ratio is out of this world. For such a small amount you can eat better than in any other place in the area, and beer is included in the price! The Asian food we ate here outclasses any establishment in "China Town". This is definitely a place you must visit when in London!

The last time I had food this bad was another Spoons. It's cheap food but it's bad. This is the double cheese burger and chips and came with a pint. Ok, for people on a budget. Cheap can be good but not here. Feels a tad dirty and bar service can be slow. If you drink the premium beers, then it's not really any cheaper than a superior pub.

I frequent this spot so thought it deserved a review. The service is sub par however it’s a Spoons, that’s not what we’re all headed there for. I’m there for the £1.99 pints of cask ale and £3 Guinness’s. If they’re not your thing then maybe you’d fancy the larger than average range of other ales and lagers. Eaten there a couple of times and it’s cheap but still decent. For a Zone 1 pub, the pints are cheap and the atmosphere is sweet. Bring ya mates and don’t go anywhere else if you want to get pissed on a budget.

Classic wetherspoons, clean to the naked eye and without foul odour or sticky floor, and you know someone vomited there because you saw it happen yesterday! All Hail the wetherspoons staff! A miracle elite army of sober hard working young models. Hired purely based on their muscular physiques, voluptuous curvy bodies and stunning good looks, The Team do a truly marvellous job. Staff are young and attractive, running around like they’ve got sticks of dynamite up their bottoms, rushing about to make every patrons service experience go without a wobble of turbulence. They don’t have an easy job either, people swap tables or are too drunk to recall their own orders, toilets are usually blocked by some idiot, and then more idiots add to it... You’ll be lucky to get a seat on a busy night, which is most Mondays through to Sunday. There’s not that many plug sockets either, however, on the right night any well dressed inconspicuous homeless person could browse the halls helping themselves to a plethora of free food and drink left behind by university students, getting in a cheap meal and a quick drink before going out on the lash.

Very large and quite cold environment, probably because it is difficult to heat. Service was quite fast and courteous, we took the muffin + drink free refill formula which we say left a lot to be desired. The bun was good, although the bacon was chewy and not as crispy as you would expect. The sore point were the drinks, which you get from a dispenser. The hot chocolate was basically dirty water, while the coffee was very watery. Let's say that if I were to return I would carefully avoid the drinks section, while the food was there

🚇 Stepney Green 🍺 £3.59 Carlsberg The Half Moon pub is located on busy Mile End Road close to Queen Mary University in Mile End in the East End of London. The nearest Tube is Stepney Green. This Wetherspoons pub used to be a Methodist chapel, built in 1900. In 1977, the disused chapel was taken over by the Half Moon Theatre Company, opening with a production of Robert Tressell’s The Ragged-Trousered Philanthropists. In 1985, the theatre expanded into a derelict site next door, yet closed in 1990. Wetherspoons refurbished the two buildings and opened this pub in 1998. This Spoons unusually has two bars, one in the front left and one in the rear right. The front bar (Chapel Bar) has the servery located at the back, a very high ceiling with an impressive domed skylight and some unique high-back booths. The back bar is completely different and has quite a modern industrial feel to it. To the side of the pub is a large patio beer garden with plenty of seating and is partially covered. The beer selection has a simple choice of keg options and a good range of cask ales. I decided on a Carlsberg, my pint was great, price point was less than four quid. The food menu is vast and offers a veritable smorgasbord of deep fried microwaveable pub classics, Fish & Chips and an alcoholic drink costs £11.61. I arrived just before 6pm on a chilly Saturday afternoon in March. The pub was busy in both bars and in the beer garden. The atmosphere was different in all three areas, The Chapel bar was slightly subdued, the back bar a bit livelier and it was buzzing in the beer garden. The service was pleasant, I was served in no time at all and the server was gracious. I must admit, I do enjoy visiting a local Spoons as it is a great way to see a good cross section of the local community. It also provides an affordable place for the younger and older generations to have and enjoy social interaction. The Half Moon is a unique East End pub experience, definitely a pub of two halves. Worth a look if you’re in the area. ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 30.03.24

So I sat in the ladies for sometime waiting for the painkillers to work. They started banging on the door shouting at me, I explained what was happening and they were screaming at me even more. I didn't do anything to anybody, I wasn't bothering anyone, there was no queue. I really don't know what they were thinking behaving like that. They are reasonably nice to people with visible disabilities, but not trained to understand that there are illnesses that you can't see. Great venue, good location but very disappointing compared to other Wetherspoons. Although the place wasn't too busy, the staff at the bar seemed to actively avoid having to serve anyone and on a number of times, we (and others) gave up being served at the bar at the back and went to the front bar or tried ordering through the app instead. The food we ordered was disappointing. The salad was V limp and seemed days old, burger overdone and neither I nor my friend finished our dishes. Despite there being plenty of staff, no one cared about clearing tables so we had to do what we saw many others do, and keep taking our empties up to the bar (to still be ignored and wait forever to get another drink) or keep putting plates and glasses on any empty table we could find.

This spot is popular with both the after-work Wetherspoons crowd and students. As usual, the drinks are affordable (Worthington's was only £1.70!), and there's ample seating if you're looking for a local hangout. However, the beer garden is essentially a smoker's paradise, so if that's not your scene, it's best to avoid it. The staff can seem a bit weary, likely from dealing with the regulars, so don't expect too much in terms of service.

Pret is Pret whichever one you visit. Sandwiches are pretty good. Been lots of times but everytime I do, I feel robbed for how expensive it is for how bland their food is. I'm also so hungry still too unless I get multiple of one thing because the amount of fillings is forever so lack luster. So many better options out there it's just hard not to go back when they're the McDonald's of Cafes. They're on to a winner there. Oh and the fact they charge a dine in fee is absolutely hilariously sad. I usually say take away so I'm not charged and eat in anyway - the staff either don't care or don't notice.

I have been a customer for over two years. The staff are always friendly, especially Azad and Roswin, they go the extra mile to provide excellent service and make sure everyone smile. I hope their hard work gets some acknowledgment. Many thanks :-)

Im assuming this is the stour cafe 258 Kingsland Road, and if not then thats what I'm talking about! Amazing coffee and the best bacon sarnie Ive ever eaten. Had in back in early December. Sour dough bread, butter, amazing meat and brown sauce - it was just brilliant. The bread was ace too. Great chef!

The food and cocktails were great, but please be careful, a 13% tip is automatically added to the bill amount. We had 14€ for two people.
