Had the best margarita!!!! I've tried a fair few but this was stand out. Great vibe, good service and enjoyable atmosphere. Lunchtime on a Saturday and not too busy. Didn't try the food this time but would go again.

Great pub within Spitalfields market. Good quality well prepared classic pub food. We had sausage and mash and burger both were great. Minor problem with cask ale - Young's Winter warmer, end of keg past it's best, which was immediately changed and rectified. Would definitely return.

Manager named mona was drinking while working and then replying in a really bad and arrogant way, never going back

We had a booking for 10 for after work drinks and nibbles. The Grocer team looked after us very well and we had a very pleasant evening.

I have been everywhere in the uk, but this was the first time i have seen a manager being so racist. Manager named mona was saying such words that were really wrong. Never coming back

This year we introduced it to our children. They loved it. Whether it's fish and chips or Grocer Burger beef. Every bite is a treat. The only thing to improve is the temperature inside because a little wind is felt. That didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves.

3 months ago when we visited London we had a very great time at The Grocer’s. The food was delicious the beer was excellent and they had the best designed glasses I ever saw🤩 All the staff was very kind and friendly. If you are in London I would fully recommend to visit this place🤩

Visited the grocer last Sunday , very happy with the chicken roast definitely worth visiting for , and as a person who don’t drink they have a wide range of non-alcoholic drinks which made me feel included I had a non-alcoholic amaretto sour which was really good . Overall I will definitely be visiting again soon

I had a reservation here last night for dinner. We were seated immediately. The servers were so polite! We chose to order off the app. My boyfriend had the fish and chips. I’m a vegetarian and felt there was so many vegetable dishes available. Overall we were very satisfied and would absolutely recommend the grocer

Love the super friendly staff there! The portions are quite big especially for the roasts on Sundays. I always go there to have either chicken roast or the vegetable wellington, love the potatoes they give with it too. And whenever I come with my dog the staff always immediately brings her a water bowl and some treats so she loves them too haha. The wait at the bar might get somewhat long when of course the pub is full but the staff always makes their best to serve everyone as quickly and efficiently as they can. So yeah, over all I'm super satisfied with my visits there, be it indoor or in their cute viby outdoor space, and I recommend it very much. They also got a very nice selection of beers on tap with extra options in bottle for dry Jan yeey!!

First time there, will go again

We had our team Christmas lunch at The Grocer and it was really good. Food was excellent with many saying their Christmas lunch was just like home! It's a great venue with a bar outside, which we decamped to after our meal. Heated lamps are the best. A big thank you to Dannika and the team.

Lovely pint of Young’s ordinary, lively pub with a great atmosphere. One of us had a burger and it looked excellent. He got us all chips and they were excellent! Good night out!

The only reason food is average is because we came from eating at another establishment and never got to try their food.. love the atmosphere and the Smiley and Friendly service..

The Grocer has become my ‘go to’ place for lunch when I visit the City with friends. Over the last couple of years, as the staff has got to know us, we get looked after well and valued as customers. The food is good pub grub, a wide selection of beers and enough choice of wines certainly for me. I consider the cost good for the types of long lunches we have there.

Wish I could give 0 for service. Horribly rude servers. Please try to avoid- there are multiple other amazing places around the market.

Our dietary requirements were well cared for, the food and drinks were delicious and served in perfect timing. My son even got his dessert first, as requested. I really enjoy going for a drink there when I’m in the neighbourhood. Nice bar, there’s plenty of seating (even ‘outdoor’ which is covered as inside the market, and heated). Recommend a visit!

It took 50 minutes to get my food despite not being too busy. They forgot my order and pretended that it was very busy in the kitchen. Had to go and ask twice for the food before I could get it. And the food wasn't with a 50 minutes wait either.

El tendero nos dio una cálida bienvenida y nuestra fiesta de 11 disfrutó de una comida muy agradable. Cómodos asientos al aire libre era muy útil para las primeras llegadas y nos permitió disfrutar del ambiente especial del mercado de Spitalfields. El personal era amable y servicial, la comida era caliente y sabrosa y había una buena gama de platos, y cervezas. No teníamos entrantes, pero quizás debería haber hecho dada la variedad de platos que se ofrecen. ¡Gracias a Dani y al equipo por ayudar a que sea una experiencia tan memorable!

An excellent lunch for a group of 12 friends enjoying a reunion. Delicious food, a wonderful welcome from Danika and the team who looked after us so well and didn’t hurry us out at all! Highly recommended !!

Came for the Roast, but stayed for the bread and oil. The bread was perfectly seasoned.

I got a table here for my architectural group's aprés-tour social. Our waiter was super-patient and accurate (10 diners!) with drinks, serving food--and helping us pay with separate checks. Food and drink all excellent. I've taken off 1 star for service only because the orders took a little while to arrive (hey, it was Sunday lunchtime peak-hour!) and the interior was just a little on the noisy side (same). Recommended 😋

Alright, guv, if you find yerself around Spitalfields, The Grocer’s a solid shout for a pint. Nice spot, right in the thick of it, perfect if you’re knackered from moochin’ around the market. Got a good selection of drinks, and the pub itself has a proper nice vibe to it – modern, but not too fancy, y’know? Now, the food’s decent – won’t knock your socks off, but it’s tasty enough and does the job after a few bevvies. Prices aren’t bad for London, but let’s face it, you’ll always pay a bit more in town, innit? Only reason it ain’t getting the full five stars is ‘cos it gets a bit busy sometimes, and finding a seat can be like winning the lottery. But hey, that’s London for ya. Staff are friendly enough, and once you’re settled, you can have a right good time. All in all, The Grocer’s a cracking spot for a pint if you’re in the area. Worth a stop, for sure!

Far too noisy....the waiters at the bar would only serve certain type of people...all bartenders were miserable, not friendly at all, not enhaging....the drinks were not great value for money either. They even ran out of glasses....really..?....in a busy bar...??? We had to wait for our glasses to be washed... Will not come back period!!!

The food here is absolutely amazing, and the staff and drinks are equally incredible! As a regular, I’ve always been taken care of so well by Amelia, Veronica, and Dannika. Each of them, on different occasions, has looked after me and my colleagues with such care and professionalism. They truly embody what hospitality is all about, consistently making us feel right at home. I’ve been coming for over a year consistently and will continue too!

Lame service. Veronika??? Our host could barely be bothered to deal with us. Food was super mediocre. I have had better food at a Wetherspoons. No atmosphere and very underwhelming lunch. Won’t be returning.

The staff is very Helpful and welcoming. The atmosphere and vibes in the pub are great. They also have an amazing range of beers and they often feature guest beers.

Pleasant pub in Spitalfields market. Outdoor seating available. Drinks are pricey even for London and non- alcoholic drinks are as much as the alcoholic versions.

Had the pork Sunday roast was amazing and our lovely waitress Dannika just made the experience so delightful with her beautiful smile and eye catching lovely tattoos will definitely come back

The Grocer was the ideal spot for our last lunch in London. The atmosphere was laid-back and fun, exactly what we needed after a busy vacation. Our server, Veronika, was a gem! She went above and beyond to make sure our 7-year-old daughter was happy, even when her initial drink choice wasn't a hit. :) The food was fantastic – fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. I was thrilled to see so many gluten-free options, including fish & chips! Everything we ordered was wonderful. The location in Spitalfields Market couldn't be better. We loved exploring the market's unique shops and local artists throughout our time, and The Grocer added a perfect final touch to our wonderful trip. Hope to visit again someday soon! Highly recommended! 💖

Great service from a lovely lady. I think her name was Amelia. She kept us well topped up with drinks! Good choice of traditional pub food and always a nice vibe. Great place to meet for a relaxed catch up. Many thanks. Would def recommend.

A lovely bar with a great atmosphere. The cocktails they serve are probably the best I have had. I can highly recommend the extra spicy margarita and espresso martini. The staff are really friendly here. Shout out to Amandio for looking after our table. He is a real asset to your bar! It was my first time here. Will definitely visit again when I’m back in the big smoke.

The place looked good and the beers were amazing but I think they need to upgrade the people working there, We were served by an orange-haired woman with a ponytail who definitely had an attitude and it looked like she didn’t want to work, she had absolutely no patience and her horrific facial expressions made us understand she had no pleasure in serving us, Sorry for the owner 😒 Hope her boss knows who he decided to represent his business with

Very slow service. No one to greet anyone coming into the eating area. Drinks took 30 minutes.

Such horrible service/waitstaff. Went in to get a table and ignored by waiters/host. Had to ask about sitting down for lunch and told we had to seat ourselves and order at bar since they were so busy (it was not busy). We found a seat and were waiting patiently in line at bar to order and were told by another waiter that we could not eat there because my 9 year old had food already. My 9 year old will only eat certain food so we had takeaway for her while we were waiting to order. All this was fine expect the attitude of the first waiter and second waiter was totally rude like they hated their jobs and we were a nuisance. No customer service attitude at all.

Stunning pub in the bustling Spitalfields market. The staff were amazing, particularly Erica, Flo, and Kelsey. Provided exceptionally fast and friendly service. Will definitely be back again!

Had my backpack stolen in the pub and notified the staff about it. - Staff did not look at CCTV to prevent the thief from leaving the Spitalfields market in case they would still be in the area. - Staff also did not look at CCTV to find out who the thief was and ban them from their premises. - Called the pub several times over the next days, staff told me they are too busy to deal with this matter. - The pub doesn't seem to have any dedicated security guard. - The pub has an open seating area, meaning thieves can enter from several directions. In summary, thieves can operate in this pub without having to fear any consequences whatsoever. Can only recommend this pub if you want all your belongings to be stolen. PS: I don't like to give negative reviews. I might remove this review if a manager from the company who owns the pub (Young & Co.'s Brewery Plc) calls me to apologize and plans to improve the security procedures at their pubs. I have given my phone number to the pub.

Erica was the best! This was our first time in London and we felt so welcomed and she ensured we had such an awesome experience, even though the restaurant was so busy!! Amazing service, amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing bartenders and drinks (go Amandio, go!). Must visit place :)

We ordered a beef and a pork Sunday roast. The pork was fabulous however the beef was so tough it couldn't be cut with a knife! Staff were very friendly and the rhubarb cider was amazing, but I doubt we'll be returning anytime soon. Such a pity.....

Nice buzzing place, with two really helpfully front of house ladies. However the burger was adequate, but very small for £18.50. The guy picking up the glasses was exceptionally rude, snatched a glass away, ignored a comment, and had a face like thunder.. Rather spoiled things..

It had such great promise for our group of 10, as a birthday dinner. There were options for Gluten Free and Vegan on the Sunday menu, the roasts sounded fantastic. However despite not being told before menus arrived that the only roast option available was Chicken. Therefore we had ordered 4 x Pork and 2 x Beef. We'd also asked if there was crackling with the Roast Pork, but still no mention they'd run out of it! 6 out of 10 of the meals we ordered weren't available. Some of the second choice Roast Chicken was very dry! Burgers were a bit uninspiring after looking forward to a Pork Roast! The server changed part way through our meal, I wasn't asked if I wanted a drink after the original drink order was taken. The new server was not terribly attentive, and after our mains came out there was a long time when there was not a single member of the serving staff in sight, so no second round of drinks. After asking, we finally received the dessert menu, again we weren't told what wasn't available. There were only about 5 options, but no mention of anything not being available. Of 4 desserts ordered, only 50% of us got our first choice. Then to top it off only 3 of the 4 desserts arrived. It wasnt even busy, so it wasnt as if they were run off their feet. Overall very underwhelming.

Really wonderful spot. Great food, fantastic service, really fun location. We booked the little shed for 13 of us and it was perfection.

Really lovely presentation. Beef roast was really nice, will say the celeriac purée was a miss for me but I think that comes down to taste preferences. However, the gravy is a little thin so just bare that in mind, overall still a nice plate and enjoyed.

Popped into the Grocer for a couple of drinks and some food recently. We thought that the food was great, and it was served in good time as well. The lady that served us for most of our time here was lovely we thought, Kelsie I believe. We will be returning at some point soon as we had a really nice time overall.

This was the first place we had dinner on our first night in London. Everything was great! My husband and I decided to share a hamburger and we each had a beer. The only downside was that we didn't check the time when we got there, and I guess they were about to close the kitchen, so we only had a hamburger and nothing else. I wish we had more time to try other things from the menu.
