Our bartender/server Amandio was fabulous! So friendly and accommodating. Everything about this place was awesome!

I got a table here for my architectural group's aprés-tour social. Our waiter was super-patient and accurate (10 diners!) with drinks, serving food--and helping us pay with separate checks. Food and drink all excellent. I've taken off 1 star for service only because the orders took a little while to arrive (hey, it was Sunday lunchtime peak-hour!) and the interior was just a little on the noisy side (same). Recommended 😋

Alright, guv, if you find yerself around Spitalfields, The Grocer’s a solid shout for a pint. Nice spot, right in the thick of it, perfect if you’re knackered from moochin’ around the market. Got a good selection of drinks, and the pub itself has a proper nice vibe to it – modern, but not too fancy, y’know? Now, the food’s decent – won’t knock your socks off, but it’s tasty enough and does the job after a few bevvies. Prices aren’t bad for London, but let’s face it, you’ll always pay a bit more in town, innit? Only reason it ain’t getting the full five stars is ‘cos it gets a bit busy sometimes, and finding a seat can be like winning the lottery. But hey, that’s London for ya. Staff are friendly enough, and once you’re settled, you can have a right good time. All in all, The Grocer’s a cracking spot for a pint if you’re in the area. Worth a stop, for sure!

Far too noisy....the waiters at the bar would only serve certain type of people...all bartenders were miserable, not friendly at all, not enhaging....the drinks were not great value for money either. They even ran out of glasses....really..?....in a busy bar...??? We had to wait for our glasses to be washed... Will not come back period!!!

The food here is absolutely amazing, and the staff and drinks are equally incredible! As a regular, I’ve always been taken care of so well by Amelia, Veronica, and Dannika. Each of them, on different occasions, has looked after me and my colleagues with such care and professionalism. They truly embody what hospitality is all about, consistently making us feel right at home. I’ve been coming for over a year consistently and will continue too!

Lame service. Veronika??? Our host could barely be bothered to deal with us. Food was super mediocre. I have had better food at a Wetherspoons. No atmosphere and very underwhelming lunch. Won’t be returning.

The staff is very Helpful and welcoming. The atmosphere and vibes in the pub are great. They also have an amazing range of beers and they often feature guest beers.

Pleasant pub in Spitalfields market. Outdoor seating available. Drinks are pricey even for London and non- alcoholic drinks are as much as the alcoholic versions.

The Grocer was the ideal spot for our last lunch in London. The atmosphere was laid-back and fun, exactly what we needed after a busy vacation. Our server, Veronika, was a gem! She went above and beyond to make sure our 7-year-old daughter was happy, even when her initial drink choice wasn't a hit. :) The food was fantastic – fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. I was thrilled to see so many gluten-free options, including fish & chips! Everything we ordered was wonderful. The location in Spitalfields Market couldn't be better. We loved exploring the market's unique shops and local artists throughout our time, and The Grocer added a perfect final touch to our wonderful trip. Hope to visit again someday soon! Highly recommended! 💖

Great service from a lovely lady. I think her name was Amelia. She kept us well topped up with drinks! Good choice of traditional pub food and always a nice vibe. Great place to meet for a relaxed catch up. Many thanks. Would def recommend.

A lovely bar with a great atmosphere. The cocktails they serve are probably the best I have had. I can highly recommend the extra spicy margarita and espresso martini. The staff are really friendly here. Shout out to Amandio for looking after our table. He is a real asset to your bar! It was my first time here. Will definitely visit again when I’m back in the big smoke.

The place looked good and the beers were amazing but I think they need to upgrade the people working there, We were served by an orange-haired woman with a ponytail who definitely had an attitude and it looked like she didn’t want to work, she had absolutely no patience and her horrific facial expressions made us understand she had no pleasure in serving us, Sorry for the owner 😒 Hope her boss knows who he decided to represent his business with

Very slow service. No one to greet anyone coming into the eating area. Drinks took 30 minutes.

Such horrible service/waitstaff. Went in to get a table and ignored by waiters/host. Had to ask about sitting down for lunch and told we had to seat ourselves and order at bar since they were so busy (it was not busy). We found a seat and were waiting patiently in line at bar to order and were told by another waiter that we could not eat there because my 9 year old had food already. My 9 year old will only eat certain food so we had takeaway for her while we were waiting to order. All this was fine expect the attitude of the first waiter and second waiter was totally rude like they hated their jobs and we were a nuisance. No customer service attitude at all.

Food is quite nice and they have an outside area.

Had my backpack stolen in the pub and notified the staff about it. - Staff did not look at CCTV to prevent the thief from leaving the Spitalfields market in case they would still be in the area. - Staff also did not look at CCTV to find out who the thief was and ban them from their premises. - Called the pub several times over the next days, staff told me they are too busy to deal with this matter. - The pub doesn't seem to have any dedicated security guard. - The pub has an open seating area, meaning thieves can enter from several directions. In summary, thieves can operate in this pub without having to fear any consequences whatsoever. Can only recommend this pub if you want all your belongings to be stolen. PS: I don't like to give negative reviews. I might remove this review if a manager from the company who owns the pub (Young & Co.'s Brewery Plc) calls me to apologize and plans to improve the security procedures at their pubs. I have given my phone number to the pub.

This place is super cute and has nice drinks, but the staff is not very friendly and the food was just okay. It did have gluten free options (like a GF burger bun), which I appreciated!

Erica was the best! This was our first time in London and we felt so welcomed and she ensured we had such an awesome experience, even though the restaurant was so busy!! Amazing service, amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing bartenders and drinks (go Amandio, go!). Must visit place :)

Nice outdoor pub in the market, but there are always a lot of people and the service fails to be present and empathetic. Food okay.

We ordered a beef and a pork Sunday roast. The pork was fabulous however the beef was so tough it couldn't be cut with a knife! Staff were very friendly and the rhubarb cider was amazing, but I doubt we'll be returning anytime soon. Such a pity.....

Nice buzzing place, with two really helpfully front of house ladies. However the burger was adequate, but very small for £18.50. The guy picking up the glasses was exceptionally rude, snatched a glass away, ignored a comment, and had a face like thunder.. Rather spoiled things..

It had such great promise for our group of 10, as a birthday dinner. There were options for Gluten Free and Vegan on the Sunday menu, the roasts sounded fantastic. However despite not being told before menus arrived that the only roast option available was Chicken. Therefore we had ordered 4 x Pork and 2 x Beef. We'd also asked if there was crackling with the Roast Pork, but still no mention they'd run out of it! 6 out of 10 of the meals we ordered weren't available. Some of the second choice Roast Chicken was very dry! Burgers were a bit uninspiring after looking forward to a Pork Roast! The server changed part way through our meal, I wasn't asked if I wanted a drink after the original drink order was taken. The new server was not terribly attentive, and after our mains came out there was a long time when there was not a single member of the serving staff in sight, so no second round of drinks. After asking, we finally received the dessert menu, again we weren't told what wasn't available. There were only about 5 options, but no mention of anything not being available. Of 4 desserts ordered, only 50% of us got our first choice. Then to top it off only 3 of the 4 desserts arrived. It wasnt even busy, so it wasnt as if they were run off their feet. Overall very underwhelming.

Really wonderful spot. Great food, fantastic service, really fun location. We booked the little shed for 13 of us and it was perfection.

Really lovely presentation. Beef roast was really nice, will say the celeriac purée was a miss for me but I think that comes down to taste preferences. However, the gravy is a little thin so just bare that in mind, overall still a nice plate and enjoyed.

Popped into the Grocer for a couple of drinks and some food recently. We thought that the food was great, and it was served in good time as well. The lady that served us for most of our time here was lovely we thought, Kelsie I believe. We will be returning at some point soon as we had a really nice time overall.

This was the first place we had dinner on our first night in London. Everything was great! My husband and I decided to share a hamburger and we each had a beer. The only downside was that we didn't check the time when we got there, and I guess they were about to close the kitchen, so we only had a hamburger and nothing else. I wish we had more time to try other things from the menu.

Erica was such a great waitress, great vibes. The pub is a great spot for an after work snack, dinner and/or drink! We had the Camembert sharer and a cocktail - perfection!

Nice experience here for the first time for a Sunday roast: nice decor and helpful, friendly staff. Our waiter, Veronica, was excellent and very patient with us. Main critique is the uncertainty of gluten-free options with the mains. Veronica helpfully explained that you could have some of the foods with certain items removed, but you wouldn't know this unless you asked. I think it might be worth the restaurant explaining this on the Sunday menu, as the only gluten-free options visible are both starters (unless it was there and I missed it). Overall, nice experience and would return!

Service was poor. Server was less than happy that were about to spend time in your establishment. You had run out of the cheese sharer starter, understand that things happen but obviously a popular menu item, why had this run out? Drinks order took along time to be taken, when the food arrived there were no plates or cutlery so we had to wait for those before we could eat. Why was the cutlery and plates not put on the table straight after the order was taken. Second round of drinks again took a very long time. There was no check back. When paying the server almost snatched the cash element of the bill from me without any pleasantries. No tip was left as we though the service had been bad. When one of my party returned from the loo, they over heard the waiting staff moaning about the fact that a tip was not left. Just to add the food that we did get was really good and enjoyed by all.

Had a lovely night here! The staff were so friendly and helpful, was lovely to see the bartender singing while she made drinks. So few young people these days enjoy their jobs it was really proved in the welcoming atmosphere of the Grocer that it pays off to look after your staff.

Our visit to the Grocer after work on a Thursday was a busy one! The staff was great, attentive with the cleanliness of the outside area (where we were sitting) and made quick work of clearing the busy bar of customers so you never felt as though you were waiting too long. Would recommend booking a table or area as can be very busy. Toilets not great and often long queues for the ladies.

Gorgeous food, lovely atmosphere and staff.

My husband had been waiting over 20 minutes to be served at the bar. When he finally placed the order (4 drinks), the waiter had forgotten one drink. When my husband pointed it out and asked if it was a quick one to make (as we’d already been waiting a while), the waiter responded ‘ a bit of patience mate’. I wouldn’t be writing a negative review if he had simply apologised. This was rude and unnecessary.

Really pretty place and nice people. They were happy to see us again :) We are travelling and really enjoyed the time here. If we would live hear, we would definitely come again.

We booked a table to entertain visitors and was awful. Food was average but we spent the whole lunch next to a member of staff throwing cutlery into a box right next to our table and very loudly. We might as well have been inside the kitchen. It was horrendous...

This is a review based on the food. We paid just shy of £30 for fish & chips with goujons as start. This isnt an issue as we are aware of location etc. However, this may be the blandest meal ive ever had. Goujons which are "straight from the market" tasted like they were lifted off a stall 5 minutes before coming out on a plate. Not to mention these were £9 & the portion size was a joke. The fish & chips were the real disappointment, how can you get this wrong! 3 orders & only 1 arrives with a lemon to top it off. The atmosphere was great & i reckon a lovely place for drinks, bit pricing food that high & not delivering is poor. Really disappointed.

Slow service, small portions and a generally unfriendly atmosphere from the staff. Spitalfields is a lovely place, so I would suggest going to one of the other very nice pubs or street food vendors nearby.

Absolutely unacceptable food and service. All the sunday roast disgusting, chicken and beef. Service no comment ! No one care about anything,please dont louse your time not even entering
