Popped in for chips and gravy after a day's hiking, terrible food... Few chips, watery gravy with little taste and forgot to put salt and vinegar on.

Amazing food! So yummy..chips and scampi were perfect 👌 also the curry sauce was spot on ..we couldn't fault a thing!!!

Truly the best fish and chips we’ve ever tasted. I write this having just finished my plate and having spent the last week in Sedbergh. The chips were delicious with a slightly crisp edge to them. Perfectly cooked haddock too. Great little family run business, easy to order via phone and to collect from shop. If you’re passing, be sure to pop in! Thank you Haddock Paddock (fab name too!!)

Superb fish and chips! Freshly cooked, so we had to wait a little while but well worth it. Crisp batter, fresh fish, not greasy, just proper fish and chips. Takeaway only (what used to be the seating area is now a waiting area) and not open every day (currently closed Mon-Wed but may change seasonally).

Really very good. I ordered a large fish & small chips by phone (015396 20468), was given the time & they were ready spot on! The best fish I’ve had from a “chippy” in a long time - chips were excellent too. All presented in a cardboard box & paper bag - so no plastic. Local specialities available - such as black pudding . Highly recommended as it really was Excellent.

Fish and chip shop, looks family-run. Staff very friendly and chatty. Chips very well tasty and not tasting of frying fat, unlike some chip shops. Large fish, only had Haddock at the time, which suited us. Again, very tasty and flavoursome and cooked well.

We may have been the only people in the cafe, but the takeaway side of the business was doing a roaring trade. Our food was piping hot, excellent value and just what we needed at the end of a busy day.

Have either a Take-away or Sit-in on a regular basis and always have a good portion (have to ask for less sometimes) and always flavourful. It would be nice to see a ‘guest fish’ every now and then to make a change form the usual good offer.

Collected a big order for work and got scraps fish and chips and others had sausage and pies and pies and curry and cheese on chips. The order was ready quickly and really reasonable priced.

The chips were extremely tasty. Not at all greasy. However the opening hours are limited and very specific. The chip shop closes at 7.30pm each evening (is closed all day Tuesday,as does most of Sedbergh) On Saturday afternoon it closes at 1.30pm

Travelled to here for fish & chips as all the local ones were closed (Monday) where we were staying and boy am I glad all our local ones were shut! They were absolutely delicious and well worth the 20+ minutes travel. Reasonably priced and only cost £25 for 6 of us. Only downside was we ended up leaving at least one portion of chips as there was just too much food for everyone.

We had takeaway fish and chips for lunch from here. They were delicious! Everything was cooked fresh, we didn’t wait long and the server was lovely. The chips were crispy and hot and delicious with the salt and vinegar. We will definitely be back!

We've been away for a while and missed this. Still lovely, tasty and a good value eatery. Freshly cooked foods including the chips so no soggy tired food here.

Arrived at 7.20pm on a Monday only to be told that we were too late as the cafe was closing at 7.30. However we noticed others, presumably locals being served there after we were turned away. Avoid.

Handily located opposite a car park in the centre of Sedburgh, this is a small takeaway specialising in traditional fish and chip fare which they do well. The fish and chips were freshly cooked The batter was crisp but there seemed to be a lot more batter than fish. That said, the fish was lovely and overall an enjoyable meal. Reasonably priced too.

Really glad we did...3 portions of fish and chips in a box which we ate on the benches opposite with the sun breaking through the clouds. None of us managed to finish it! This is not a restaurant it's a good old fish and chips shop. Pretty massive portion of fish beautifully cooked and the scampi was lovely too. Staff very pleasant. Don't go in wearing a rucksack, you'll probably never get out.

everything is cooked to order and found to be excellent both in service and quality, good selection but be warned the fish they serve up north is mainly haddock not cod as it is down south

Haddock Paddock is the tinniest restaurant you could imagine with very small tables and it serves fish and chips and a few other basic foods. It was very full when I was there, but there was till room for more. The waitress was quite unflustered and took care of every need. The fish and chips are excellent and it's haddock not cod they serve. The helpings are big and tasty and the service rapid and efficient. A really positive experience.

We've eaten here a few times and each time the food is fantastic! Chips are coked freshly and the fish is always very tasty. Well done to you all.

We called in for lunch after reading other reviews of the good fish and chips. We were disappointed as they only serve fish and chips in the evening. The food we had was fine and very reasonably priced. We will go back in the evening for fish and chips.

This loverly chip shop with restaurant attached is very popular with locals and walkers .Only set back it has limited opening times. But if you have kidds it a lot cheaper than taken them to the 2 local pubs .Fish and chips are a must .

Called in here for a quick lunch on our way to Hawes. We couldn't believe the value of a large jacket potato with lots of melted cheese and 2 delicious slices of bacon plus a decent sized tasty side salad for £4.50. It was really excellent. Cafe is retro decorated in a lovely bright, clean way. Pristinely clean premises and a friendly, approachable waitress (maybe the owner?) she was great. Would highly recommend.

Just called in here while passing through Sedbergh, we had the full English breakfast and the tuna panini, both were excellent. It felt very homemade in the best possible way, not overly fancy, good proper cup of tea, and very tasty. Great little cafe, will definitely come again.

You can tell this chip shop uses quality produce . It might appear to be the just another humble British fish and chip shop but The Haddock Paddock makes melt in the mouth fish , proper chips and the best mushy peas .

After a very wet walk around the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail (amazing btw), we were greeted by very polite and welcoming staff who advised us Wednesdays were sausage special days. We can honestly say that the jumbo battered sausages we had were the best ever and the chips were superb! Very tasty and not too greasy - perfect. Very good value for money and we can highly recommend!

We were out for a day's riding in Lancashire, Yorkshire and Cumbria when we called and stopped in Sedbergh. We were hungry with all the fresh air as well as the delicious aroma coming from the Haddock Paddock! We both had full English and weren't disappointed! Delicious and great value. On a wet and cold Wednesday in April this was a very welcome place to visit. It is small and friendly and the service was excellent. We just had a snack - sausage baps and it was very tasty. The food that others were having, good portions of fish and chips and breakfasts, not only looked good but the cleared plates testified to the quality. There is a take away attached to the café too.

Is this the best chippy ever?...............Possibly. We found this jewel when we holidayed close by. We now have our caravan based at Beetham near Carnforth and happily travel the 36 mile round trip to sit on the bench opposite sharing a large fish and chips for our lunch.

Love visiting this fish and chip takeaway. Food is always delicious and the service is great. Generous sized portions and for good value too. Despite not living close by I always drive the extra distance for the good quality of this takeaway. Would recommend very highly!

We found the Haddock in Sedbergh and decided to try it. On entering we were pleased to observe spotless surroundings. The premises were small and very clean and the lady who took our order was very pleasant and attended to our needs. My wife had the battered Haddock and on arrival I was wishing I had ordered it, it was a very generous size and accompanied by golden chips and mushy peas. The better half thoroughly enjoyed her meal and vowed to return on any future visits. I was not particularly hungry on arrival so ordered a bacon and egg bap and I have to say it was the best bacon bap I had eaten in a long time very very tasty and a generous serving to boot. We washed it down with a large mug of tea. We will definitely be returning when in the area.

Called In on the day of the Gala for fish and chips and the children had burgers (cheese and chicken) Fish and chips were lovely and would return for them again but the burgers were very disappointing as it was basically a burger in a bun, no salad or mayo or anything. Called in on a Friday evening having caught the delicious scent of fish and chips along Main Street. I was not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and the service was really good. Quite hungry from a good hike, I ordered the large haddock, chips and baked beans with bread and butter. In truth, I didn't need the bread and butter as the fish was absolutely amazing! A lovely, light golden batter with chips that equalled the splendour of the fish. No fussy furnishings or lighting for 'ambience' in the café, just excellent, freshly prepared fish and chips as they should be! On returning to Sedbergh, I will not hesitate to visit again.
