Had a lovely Sunday Roast here, we wouldn't normally eat lunch out but we were passing through on the way to our test results. We were given the choice of three meats, I choose two meats and not the other one. Cooked to perfection, both different colours. However it was the roast potatoes that were the star of the plate for me, very fluffy and soft all the way through. I did lose a filling afterwards but I think that was unrelated. Very friendly team all round.

We stopped in for Sunday lunch and had a lovely meal. Lamb, beef, and gammon were available as the choice of meats. I opted for all three in a ‘mega roast,’ which left me absolutely stuffed. The roast potatoes were excellent – not something I’d normally consider the star of the meal. The table service was friendly, if slightly slow, as they were a bit busy. Nevertheless, it was an excellent meal, and I’ll definitely look to return here for a second helping.

Lovely food but let down by lack of service. We had lovely Sunday roast but had no service for 30 mins after we finished our meals. No one took out plates away, no one asked if we would like pudding or coffee. Had to go and find someone for the bill and even after they brought it no one came to take payment so we had to go up to bar. It wasn’t even busy so no excuse. Staff were spraying empty tables. When I pointed out we had had no service I was told if I’d waved my arms about they would have served us. I did point out there was no one to wave at! We had been put in the side room but there was really no excuse for lack of service. As I said food was lovely but service spoilt our visit

We passed this pub whilst visiting family in the area. It looked beautiful, with lots of colourful hanging baskets a lovely garden area at the front. We called in to enquire about booking a table for 6 people, and returned the following evening. There is a great choice of food on the menu (although maybe not a great choice if you are vegetarian - as one of our party was). We ordered and the food came, much quicker than expected as we'd ordered a variety of dishes. It was all hot, freshly cooked and really good. Friendly staff and good service. Would definitely return if in the area again.

Went for sunday roast today. Good menu varied. The food was good with options of normal large or smaller portions which i found good as dont normaly finish it all. Staff were very nice and friendly and the put was quaint and interesting.I used to bring my grandfather here in the early 60,s which was a nice pub that only sold beer as we all originate from sandy. It is nice to see it is doing well. And i will be back again for more food some time.

The food is ok but let down by terrible service. Waited 1 hour 15 mins for meals. No explanation or apology given. Very strange decor with an abundance of mismatched furniture and knickknacks - bit like having your lunch in a charity shop. Definitely needs an update. Needless to say won’t be rushing back.

I booked a table at this pub which we passed a lot of times and decided we must try as it looks very inviting! I booked a table of 6 outside due to our lovely weather for 7pm. We arrived and our table was ready but as we sat down after a short while we realised it started becoming chilly. I went to see the waiter (Matt I think) see if we could seat inside who told me he pre-empted it and also got our table booked inside! That was very nice! We had the seafood platter sharer, brie wedges, garlic prawns, all served with prawn cocktail dip and home made fish pate and sliced bread. All lovely and freshly made. Then I had rump steak of the day rare which was perfectly cooked, it came with triple cooked chips, grilled tomato, a mushroom and I had a side of onion rings, they were huge! It was all freshly made which was so nice. Husband had steak and suet pudding with nice steak lumps in it. My friends had a guinea burger and the daily special of liver. All in all the meal with lovely, freshly made although a tad slow at times due to the fact that there are only 2 people serving and doing the bar also. I congratulated the chef Josh when I spotted him when we paid our bill on such a lovely meal. My only small gripe is that when we asked for a rose blush wine which they didn't have, Matt said he had a rose of provence and we said yes to that thinking it would be reasonably priced. We found out on the bill that the bottle is £30 and we had 2. I personally think he should have given is the wine list instead of selling us probably his most expensive rose on the wine list. Cheeky.

We visited as a table of seven. The pub was clearly very busy. Food took an hour and fifteen to arrive, the server got a main and a dessert wrong. We were served by four people, no continuity. One server didn’t know what the cheesecake flavour was - something completely different came out. Food also came out at different times. The food itself was good, seriously let down by terrible service. They had clearly overbooked themselves and couldn’t cope.

Well what can I say Josh, Jo, Matt and the team did a fantastic job. We came as a family of 10 for lunch to celebrate my husbands 50th Birthday, nothing was to much trouble they allowed me in before opening to set up balloons. The food was amazing and even though they were very busy and full of customers the food was first class all coming out at the same time and hot. You can never fault a Guinea chip :-) We stayed into the evening awaiting friends to join us and again nothing was too much trouble making sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Thankyou again Josh, Jo, Matt and the rest of the team for making Shauns 50th Birthday a wonderful occasion. See you again very soon :-)

Driven past this pub a million times. Stopped once 30 years ago. What a mistake. This has to be Bedfordshire's greatest secret. A man-sized Steak and Cheese pie brought me to a tummy busting standstill. My wife disappeared under a welter of Cajun Salmon. My treacle sponge brought tears of nostalgia to my eyes, while her toffee sponge was a mountain of taste. And the custard... ? A simply stunning lunch served by the most cheerful, professional staff. Make no mistake, we'll be back. Thank you for everything, guys

I have eaten many meals at the Guinea Moggerhanger, but I have to say my last two visits have been exceptional. The smoked mackerel pate to die for and the coronation chicken absolutely mouth watering. The new menu is looking great :-) Feel totally safe with distancing too, brilliant idea having walkie talkies!

Visited for lunch today with our dog and we sat in the garden under a gazebo which sheltered us from the wind. Was very nice. Service was excellent and the food was really lovely. Large portions and very tasty food. We will definitely be returning. Thank you!

Staff were fantastic in spite of having to comply with all the many restrictions because of covid19. We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The menu was varied and the food was beautifully cooked. A very enjoyable experience. Would thoroughly recommend this venue.

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch here today and it was superb. The first time we have been out since lockdown and we were impressed with all the safety measures they had in place and we felt really safe. The food was very very good and the service friendly. We will definitely be going again! My 85 year old Mum was so happy to be out again so thank you for making this possible!

First outing to a pub in months. Fantastic greeting, felt comfortable and filled in our contact deals easily in a little pot on the table, different but not intrusive. Table service for a drink and a one way system to the loo and out into the car park and back to the garden- easy. Really feel for the staff as they would like it to be how it was before all this.... it’s just a few adjustments So go with it and enjoy the new normal. The bbq was delicious, the salads were really fresh and plentiful, the burgers were well cooked and tasted and the prawn skewers were a delight. Well done and welcome back , although it was my first ever visit

We came with family for the reopening on the 4th of July and it was amazing although it was different to how things used to be in pubs due to the restrictions and social distancing it was all very organised and well thought out so everyone could be safe and still have a great time the atmosphere was great The food was amazing! The new chef was definitely a massive hit Great drinks and amazing friendly warm staff as always

Last night before Corvid19 shutdown Pea and ham soup was rotten, literally .Upset the appetite for the main course.Need to address the waitress and chef for not having a sense of smell.Replacement soup of carrot and coriander was cold one side of bowl and hot the other. For f***s sake, get the basics right.Chef isn’t tasting anything

As our local village pub we feel very lucky to have this on our doorstep and recommend it to others outside the village! We highly rate the food, the friendly service & events that the pub puts on. We've even held our own event in a section of the pub which was such a great evening & the buffet was incredible.

We were invited to try this pub, and we were not disappointed. Service was in good time and friendly, we didn't feel like we were left waiting but felt like we had enough time to choose what we wanted without feeling rushed. The food we had was very tasty, my wife having the Porchetta and I had the fish and chips, both were very tasty. I gave in to temptation and l had the Apple crumble, this was a lot larger than we had expected. No wonder the waiter brought two spoons! My only critique is that it could have done with more than one small scoop of ice cream. I'm sure if I would have asked I could have had another as it didn't last the crumble. But it didn't ruin a loverly meal and experience. The manager even recommended a trip across the road to the antique store, where my wife managed to find a much searched for Umbrella stand, so thank you for that too.
