Had a lovely evening! Great food and our waitress was wonderful! Sadly I didn't catch her name but when I come back I hope she's there. Thanks for the mushroom pasta recommendation!

Had a family meal there, 6 adults and 1 child. Great food, lovely facilities very well kept. The staff were friendly and very efficient. Very reasonably priced. I will definitely go back.

I don't usually leave reviews, but in this instance I feel I must. Unfortunately, my experience of staying at The Prince William was overshadowed by several issues. The first. My organisation booked the accommodation for me, in order to attend an event. During this booking I had explicitly asked for my booking agent to include breakfast. I received confirmation that was the case and breakfast was included for an extra £20, please keep that amount in mind. I recieved breakfast the next morning early by request. The chef wasn't available at 0800, therefore the landlord cooked it. What can I say.. I would have probably got better value for money at weatherspoons. The poached eggs were overcooked and it was average at best. I ate most of it, and was ready to leave. I was then told I must pay for the breakfast (£18.90 incl 1 coffee). I did ask the landlord again if my booking agent had paid for the breakfast, he stated they hadn't. I had to pay, which I found unusual. On accessing my work emails later that day, it stated that in fact breakfast had been pre-booked and paid for and the landlord had just stated a falsehood. I have emailed to reconcile but had no response. Thus, it shows the character of both the landlord and the business. It started to make sense, as a lady the evening before complained as she had been charged for breakfast but had not requested it. So the key takeaways; the business and organisations lack integrity and are willing to exploit customers. Next the food is not value for money from my experience, really poor for the price. I'd you have the opportunity to eat or stay elsewhere, I would take that option.

4 of us dined here on a Tuesday night, the two female staff were super friendly and welcoming, all the food was freshly prepared and delicious. My son and nephew wanted to try the Badger XXX pepper sauce, after signing the waiver (yes it's that hot) they had a go, highly entertaining, only try if you are brave enough. Good value too, give it a go.

Very friendly team, always chatty and kind. We have been here a number of times as a couple, with friends, family and have recommended our for both accommodation and eating to many.

Visited Ampthill park mid week and decided to have a stroll around town. Great pub in a good location. Very friendly staff and locals. Excellent variety of drinks served. Didn’t eat here but extensive menu available. Definitely returning next time in Ampthill.

Been there a couple of times since the most recent owners have had it and both times food and service was great. We went there yesterday and sat out the front for food and drink. There was four of us adults and two children, our starters and mains along with a round of drinks came to just over £101 which I thought was extremely reasonable. Would highly recommend the pork chop with mash and the chicken wing starters. Great jobs guys, great value and great service👌🏼👌🏼 Leon F

Small carpark and some street parking. Exceptionally friendly welcome and service for drinks and menu. Delicious, some unusual ingredients for baguettes and jacket potatoes. Chilli a speciality. Great range of beers too. The perfect town pub, good luck, keep on doing what you're doing.

Nice pub in Ampthill village not much parking however from 6 you can park out on the road. The service was good and I treated myself to a prosecco and lemon drizzle slice. The drink was on the pricey side over £8 little bottle 🍾 but the lemon drizzle cake was not only reasonable in cost it tasted great. I highly recommend the pasties and cakes on display. I'd definitely go back but I wouldn't spend the whole night here drinking it would end up costing too much 🤷🏻‍♀️

My family and I celebrated my 40th birthday here. The staff were friendly and engaging, especially with my young daughter and niece. The food was lovely, and the service was brilliant. I have visited here twice now due to a lovely previous visit when on that occasion the staff were lovely as was the food. I look forward to visiting again soon.

Wandered in for a meal and had a delicious lunch with some great banter and atmosphere. The food is delicious, the price about the same as everywhere but the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff was above average! Thanks for egging on my mate to try the hottest chilli sauce on his wings, it was a hoot!

Approached by a big Scottish guy asking us what we wanted,I should've said to have my car serviced,what on god's green earth does he think we wanted I mean it's a pub idiot,I replied we were just looking at the beers on offer which wasn't much & he said are you having anything to eat I said not at the moment he very rudely said,well you will have to wait for 10 minutes we obviously left in disgust & that was the first & last time we experienced the prince of wales,Never again & would not recommend this odd establishment,also noticed that all of this clowns 🤡 replies to reviews are extremely defensive,rude & aggressive,obviously used to pub's in Glasgow as that's where he belongs, this clowns 🤡 attitude wouldn't last long in London, makes me ashamed to be Scottish idiots like this,de ye ken As with regards to your reply I live in Amptill so obviously know where we were,I must have been seeing scotch mist & been speaking with Nessie you clown 🤡

Outside area needs tidying up, it's looking quite tired and run down.

Had breakfast here and it was all local produce and it was very tasty service was quick and they where very nice staff

We have had a stay there the weekend of 16 and 17th of March and we had a lovely time the room was good and a big size bed. service of the owner and his staff in the pub is great. We will def be back for a other visit next time. Richard and Denise from Holland

I only ate here so I'm only going to talk about that.

Has so much potential but sadly on our third visit since it is opened. We are still disappointed. We went there when it first opened and was not impressed. I gave them a second chance earlier in the year. It was okay and then me and my husband decided to give them a chance for Sunday dinner as really good reports about them, however, when you’re spending nearly hundred pound for a couple on a Sunday for Sunday dinner, you expect something really good it wasn’t really good our prawn cocktail they were very cheap frozen prawns quickly defrosted and when you’re charging £8.50 for a prawn cocktail you expect things to be fresh like it says in the menu, with bread and butter that the butter was already spread on the bread, but it gone soggy by the time it reached our table, been sitting on a hot plate. Usually you would expect the butter to be served separately to the bread, and now we get to the roast dinner covered in gravy very tasty gravy but again should have come separately vegetables were like they were possibly frozen vegetables but they weren’t I think just over cooked but I wasn’t sure whether I had lamb or beef to to be honest, and then when we was looking at choosing for the wine there was no prices to the wine list so we had to ask how much the wine was costing per bottle, which I think is wrong thing to. Based on this I would have preferred Toby carvery and won’t be eating there again anytime soon. It’s expensive for the quality

Had a very pleasant stay in the Prince of Wales. Comfortable room and bed, although the en suite bathroom is a little snug. Great beer. Delicious breakfast with local produce. Pleasant and friendly staff.

My neighbours and I went for our Christmas meal last night. The food was absolutely incredible. Portion sizes were generous, food was piping hot, service incredible. This is a fantastic family run pub and an absolute must visit if you’re planning on spending time in Ampthill!

Had the brekfast here, which is available from friday to sunday. It was a top tier brekfast with local produce 10/10. The staff here are friendly and helpful and also highly recommend

Women running the place absolutely spot on came in tonite first time trying the food and cannot fault it the nachos where amazing and the chicken wings with the badger sauce is not for the faint hearted if you can handle spicy then get your self down there and get your teeth into them

Popped in because we was in the area, great pub amazing staff and blinding food, had the XXX badgers hot wings.. highly recommended I am not responsible for anyone eating the wings if in doubt stick to the nachos .. will definitely be back soon

Was accused of not paying for my food. The fault was with the serving staff as she didn’t close my table on the system. I had paid. When I brought up my bank statement on my phone the manager didn’t even look at it and I felt like I was not even able to prove my innocence. No apology was given for the staff error. Very surprised as I was a regular customer and quite liked this place. Will be taking my custom elsewhere. This interaction was rude and unprofessional. Is that how you treat your loyal customers?

Wonderful family run pub in a nice location, have stayed twice now and can assuredly state that it is a proper gem. The food is top notch and the service is second to none. I truly felt as if I’d come home (all be it 130 miles away) I would like to say a resounding thank you to all of the staff for an oasis in a sea of drab

Not great. One of the only things we could have had on the menu was jacket potato, but they had none!

Spot of lunch. Very welcoming staff, great choice of meals. We had fish pie and a chicken ceasar salad. Very nice.

As I'm gluten free and dairy free I struggle to eat out, this pub is amazing because they cater for my needs and it's also great service what more could you want :)

Fancied a nice pub lunch, was very disappointed. I think a lot of the food comes frozen or pre made. The food was expensive but if it was good quality it would have been good value. Service was good but couldn't make up for the low grade food supplied.

Food was fairly Good not the best

3 of us came for Fathers Day. Each course was delicious & every one who works there is most friendly, welcoming & attentive. Recommend 100%. I took a pic of my main course which was a creamy stuffed chicken.

The Prince of Wales is a good place to stay if your visiting family in the area, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is good and reasonable priced. I would stay hear again and would recommend it to others

This was a drop in for lunch whilst in Ampthill for the day. Sunday lunchtime, a party of six not wanting a full meal, but we were welcomed warmly. Excellent service and really nice food. Well done Prince of Wales.

The service was impeccable! All the staff were friendly and the place was clean and tidy. We had a couple of drinks and a shared muscle plate as we weren't too hungry. But it's was served quickly and tasted amazing. The coffee was really nice too. If I'm in the area, I'll definitely come back.

Great little pub/restaurant.....they say they are dog friendly and they are.....the dogs are welcomed better than there owners 😁 we had a great meal and drinks with friends.
