The Grind in County Durham

Amazing! First off, the staff are so friendly. They never hesitate to answer any questions and make you feel so welcome, no matter the day/time. The decor and the atmosphere are great. I keep finding new details to admire. Love the surprise in the ladies’ loo as well! 🤫✨ The new menu is to die for! Gorgeous. I hate to admit I’ve had two burgers in the space of a week but can’t resist. This isn’t bog standard stuff - this is a menu that’s been properly thought through and they’ve thought outside the box! Unique things I haven’t seen before - super tasty. Try it all. The cocktail menu is equally fab - loads of choice and beautifully presented.

The new venue is beautiful with the same cool feel and great staff but lots more lush food and some amazing new cocktails too.

New bar and kitchen opened and it’s fantastic! There’s a new menu with something for everyone, fantastic cocktail menu and the decor is brilliant. Don’t forget to press the big red button in the ladies toilets! Would definitely recommend!

Attended the soft launch of the New Grind Bar and Kitchen and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Perfect venue and is exactly what Spennymoor needs, an absolute rejuvenation of the town.

Attended the newly opened ‘The Grind Bar and Kitchen’ tonight. Having been to The Grind Cafe I was expecting great things from this new venue, and it certainly did not disappoint. Wowed from the moment I walked in. The building itself is funky and unique. The staff are all welcoming and friendly. I tried the chimichimibangbang burger and it was incredible. Presented well and tasted even better! The fries are the best I’ve possibly ever had, and seasoned to perfection. Great selection of cocktails too and all uniquely designed like you wouldn’t expect. An absolutely fantastic experience, and a credit to the owners for bringing something to Spennymoor that was very much needed. The staff canning do enough for you, always coming round to take drinks orders so you’re never without, or even stopping for a friendly chat. Already can’t wait to come again and try everything on the menu!

Absolutely fantastic! Really good atmosphere and excellent customer service from all of the staff. And the food...out of this world! Ordered a French onion burger and pigs in syrup fries and cannot complain about anything! Long live The Grind!!!

This evening menu is UNREAL! Oh my god the burgers are to die for. Loved the mucky fries to accompany, along with delicious cocktails it was a tremendous evening. I can’t put into words how brilliant all of the artwork and decor is inside, such a cool and quirky vibe! Could not recommend this place enough!

New The Grind Bar & Kitchen - I went to the new Grind Bar and Kitchen and it was brilliant. The other venue they have down the street was fantastic but it needed to be bigger as it was sometimes hard to get a booking. The new place is spacious. Great music and atmosphere and the best burgers! Loved the fact that the meat is sourced from an Amazing Local Butcher of Deerness Valley Meats of Esh Winning. I had Hulkamania Burger and loaded ‘mucky chips’ and other half have J’ Off Burger the flavours were really unique like the rum soaked pineapple rings. Service great as always. I think is place is going to do really well! Love the disco ball in the ladies toilet!

What a pleasant surprise to find this little cafe in such an unlikely location. The generous brunch dishes and luxurious coffee easily stand comparison to places I have recently visited in the more “hip” areas of Manchester’ Northern Quarter and Newcastle’s Ouseburn.

So good to have such a lovely place on the doorstep. Food is great with good portion sizes and really well priced. Coffee is even better. Staff are always friendly and attentive. Does get very busy so booking is a must!
