Great restaurant, lovely fresh food with a good choice on menu, very friendly. Very efficient service, and not too expensive. Highly recommended.

My girlfriend took me here for the first time yesterday as she had been there before and we had the lunch time special £15 for a main and a starter and OMG the food was AMAZING I have never tasted food that nice before in my life this is my go to place for food everytime I go into town now would 100% recommend you try this restaurant you will not be disappointed.

Took my daughter in for a dinner date on a peaceful Friday afternoon and soo glad I did! The staff are lovely friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is great. The food was impeccable and I would gladly recommend this place to anyone, families couples singles any occasion. Thank you we really enjoyed our meal! Gaz

Stunning food, friendly and fast service.

Had a fantastic evening here at Grille. There were 29 of us celebrating my Sons 30th birthday. Food was amazing and very reasonably priced, portion sizes are very good and sides plentiful. Lots of jugs of sauces too. The staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. I had pork steaks and they came with homemade chips and vegetables,lovely. The burgers looked fab and so did the steaks. Will defo come again. Thank you all for making our night special.

Absolutely got to be one of my new favourite restaurants, we came on a date night Friday and it was absolutely gorgeous, lovely and welcoming staff! Their Tomato soup had to be best we tasted!

I have been coming to the grille since the week it opened when my dad brought me for the first time, that was over a decade ago. I now take my daughter almost monthly, the staff are so welcoming and very understanding I'm a disabled mother and I struggle to go places as I feel judged, but I always feel safe here, plus they are wonderful at accommodating allergies and children Keep up the good work and I will see you soon

Who says the people of Yorkshire don't have a sense of humour? The people giving this place 5 stars certainly do. They literally burnt both the nachos and dough balls. The steaks were possibly the worst I have ever had. Tough with no flavour. There was no rescuing it. For the first time in my life I found myself jealous of what the 'enemy combatants' in Guantanamo Bay get force fed.

10 out of 10 on all aspects. Food was cooked perfectly and was piping hot. Good value for money and very friendly and approachable staff. Highly recommended.

Fabulous place. Fantastic food and brilliant staff. They accommodated 17 of us twice, once at short notice and made our weekend away one to remember. Will definitely be going back again and again.

Staff on the day I visited (Sunday) were not busy, friendly but not very efficient. Long wait to order dessert, long wait to get the bill. Tables were cleared and wiped down within minutes of a group leaving. We had Sunday Roast lunch. The food was ok, we both had beef. Which I guess was precooked and microwaved, cooked completely no hint of pink. Ok but not to my tastes. Vegetables were good, firm but not too firm, probably fresh. Nicely mashed and boiled potatoes came on the plate along with 3 slices of the meat and the Yorkshire pudding, this was a little strange, why not mashed and roasted potatoes? Got a boat of gravy each. Good selection on the dessert menu, (see phot0). I chose apple crumble and custard, which was very nice. Drinks are about the same as a pub in cost. Cocktail menu seemed ok but I didn't try any. Overall, food good but not excellent. Service ok but not great.

This is definitely a place to visit, they are very accommodating for special dietary requirements. We were a party of 5 celebrating the end of the year, unfortunately there was a large party that came in that were extremely loud and ready which made our evening less enjoyable. This was totally different to last years experience (our 1st visit) - not The Grille's fault. The other change was the menu, this year's was a set menu for a minimum of £24,95 we had 2 members in our group with dietary issues and couldn't eat 2 or 3 courses and felt pressured to order more to warrant the minimum charge, perhaps something that should have been mentioned when we booked? Great food, amazing staff - give it a try.

Lovely homemade properly seasoned food, reasonably priced, with great service. The owner (atleast I think it was the owner) brought some of our food out and had a good chat, they were absolutely lovely and attentive. This was our first visit and we will be back. We highly recommend the Chicago Chicken, all the burgers, and the kebabs. The garlic bread was absolutely outstanding too, a real tiger bread that by far the best we've ever had. Next we will be trying the steaks! 😋 EDIT: We're on our third visit now. Always exactly what we're after. Just bloody good homemade food! EDIT: Lost track of what number visit this is. We've now tried their curry menu which is also A** and are regulars.

Been to the Grille many times and went again tonight for our Daughters 17th birthday and once again had great food the place was busy with a good atmosphere and all the staff are always really friendly.Many thanks.

This is the best restaurant in Barnsley by a landslide! The staff are absolutely amazing, nothing is too much bother. Their banter is off the charts, they always recognise us and I always get a shot after my meal! Their food is absolutely gorgeous, I’ve never had a bad meal or bad experience here. It’s such a shame that Chilli next door closed a few years ago, but if you ask them they still accommodate you off the Chilli menu. We had a birthday meal here and they brought a dessert out with a candle on as well and blasted out the birthday song! We regularly get their takeaways also and have zero complaints. Both menus are delicious but the Chilli takeaway is just divine. I am fussy about my chicken pieces being too big, and when asked they chop up my chicken smaller for me. Nothing’s too much bother. I really cannot say a bad word about Grille, one of my favourite restaurants ever.

Went to the Grill Saturday tea time. Meal was excellent and service very good.

We visit Grille regularly and we feel welcome and valued customers. Last night, we visited again with some friends and again were greeted with a warm welcome. The two male waiters serving last night were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and all drinks made were lovely. We would recommend to anyone. Thank you!

Popped in for a mid afternoon meal, and Pedro was a an amazing host and waiter, the food was also amazing great price with the lunch deals. The best part was the service tho Pedro was amazing at his job. Made us feel very welcomed

We were in Barnsley for World Kickboxing Competition. Booked a table for 18 of us and could not fault it. We were all welcomed on arrival and felt right at home. We had a mixture of starters, mains, desserts and not one complaint. The food and service was excellent. Well done to you all and thank you for looking after us so well 😁

A group of 9 of us came Saturday evening, was shown to our table straightaway and drinks order taken, followed by food orders. Food arrived swiftly and was beautiful. Service was really good, all staff very attentive really welcoming and would not hesitate to return, thank you for a wonderful evening 😀

We travelled 27 miles on the Saturday to have a meal for my girlfriends birthday the following Tuesday. I fancied somewhere we had not been before and The Grille fitted the bill nicely. We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived and shown to our table. We ordered the chicken & duck spring rolls in a plum sauce to start and these were large and delicious. We followed this with a 10oz sirloin and ribeye with fried onions and melted cheese, again these were superbly cooked. The service was first class and on leaving the owner shook my hand and thanked us for our custom hoped to see us again in the future. It was definitely a memorable meal and one I would like to do again in the future.

Had a lovely meal with my wife, enjoyed an amazing steak, cooked to absolute perfection. The starters were really tasty, prawns were huge. To be honest we ate too much the potions were largish and yet the taste was absolutely gastronomic and this restaurant deserves much much more than a passing glance, because the service was first class. Excellent cuisine. The only thing letting the food down was the roughly chopped salad garnishes, which is minor, compared to the flavour and the tenderness of the meat.

Wow, wow, the experience from start to finish was Lucy & Jazz and also our beautiful waiter who was like a true blessing. Thankyou for makin my sons birthday so beautiful.

Our party of 4 enjoyed our meal at the Grille Steakhouse, it was a busy Saturday night, service was excellent ,large portions from a large menu,highly recommend.

Poor Birthday Meal - ruined our special occasion. We dined on a Sunday afternoon, the place was moderately busy so we expected a wait on food- which is understandable. However we waited nearly an hour for food for it to be served cold. 6 out of 8 meals were stone cold. To top this off we were sat by a small group of around 6 people who were really drunk and getting louder and louder and swearing - not a great look at all. We and another table complained and the managers did nothing except shrug their shoulders. We will not return after this experience and I do not recommend to anyone either.

We eat in top restaurants and this is among them all me my wife and daughter had steak and ribs and veg chips and got to give it 10 out of 10 must visit

The server was the most polite and attentive server I've ever had. Really made us feel welcome and happy. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were more than worth the price. Would definitely go back, and 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a nice sit down meal.

Excellent place to visit…. I had the Tuesday steak special that was an 8oz Fillet steak with chips, onion rings, veg & two steak sauces for £14.00 and have to say it was fantastic, thank you!! Just to add they also have different offers on during the week so check out their website.

We visit and from time to time have home delivery. I cannot fault the quality of the food or the service.

Just called in for 5 pm tea on tender loin Tuesday. Outstanding food, great service and the brownie omg the brownie!! My 9 year old loved her burger and I loved my fillet steak cooked to perfection and the host was very friendly and Professional. Thanks, we'll be back !!!

Went for a birthday party, service was a little spotty to begin with but they did come back and check up on us as a group a number of times, the steak was truly superb which is kind of key to a steakhouse. They have an earlbird set price menu which was good value for money although I thought the à la carte pricing was a little high for the non mains, not excessively so and the food quality was great so YMMV for the value to money front.

Another fantastic meal at the grille! Michelin star service from Tapa. The food was excellent again!!! The advice on the wine selection is also a rare quality the staff possess, and the cocktails!!! I have dined here countless times in the past 15 years and have generally been happy with the food and service. Unfortunately, in recent months the owners appear to have cut more corners than Lewis Hamilton and now risk losing loyal customers to the likes of Market Kitchen and The Salt House. My latest (and probably last) visit was as a member of a group of 16 on a weekday night. The service was slow as there only appeared to be one chef cooking for the entire restaurant so I waited approximately 30-40 minutes from finishing my starter to receiving my main course. The £11.99 Grille Burger eventually arrived looking like a £4.99 offering from Wetherspoons. The two puny burgers inside the dry bread had no flavour whatsoever, the salad looked old and the chips undercooked. There was no sign of the two "businessmen" who own the place, who are usually seen hassling their overworked serving staff while walking around with their hands behind their backs. I am sure they are still stealing a living while masquerading as restaurateurs. Very disappointed with the quality of food our group received and the time it took to prepare it.

We visited Grille in Barnsley on August 17th 2022. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We were offered both the A La carte menu & the Mid-week menu.... both had lot's of options (Steaks, kebabs, burgers, sandwiches, fajitas etc) even Chateaubriand 😋 All the food we ordered was of high quality and was delicious. The portion sizes are excellent. I would highly recommend Grille Barnsley to everyone. The staff are outstanding & all of my party were very satisfied and we will definitely return. 😀.

Great restaurant, 12 of us dined here 2 weeks ago and nothing was to much trouble, they let us all order from a choice of 3 different menus, which catered to everyone's various different tastes, very reasonably priced and all food was served hot and all at same time, which doesn't always happen when there are a large group of people. Highly recommended.

One of the best Christmas lunches I've had in a restaurant and for a party of 30 unless you wanted turkey didn't have to pre order.2 or 3 courses - 4 starters ,4 main but only 2 dessert. .Everyone served together even the plates were hot. Had report of fish bland and sauce salty but fussy eater. Christmas crackers waste of money. Down side - though heating had been on a hour with door opening and large glass windows place was chilly

Myself and my family (of five adults) had a wonderful time and enjoyed some delicious food. The staff were attentive and prompt, they made us feel very welcome. I can recommend the chicken and duck spring roll starters, and I loved the sirloin steak which I had with chili con carne. The decor and cleanliness were of a high standard. I can recommend this for nights out, dates, or family celebrations.

We came here for their Sunday Roast, unfortunately this was a mistake. I think it’s probably a superb restaurant if you want a steak/grill (just avoid their Sunday Lunch). When you sit down at a restaurant and they hand you a plastic laminated piece of paper for a menu you instantly know you have made an error of judgment in your choice of establishment from that point onwards I was disappointed. We all had a different Sunday Roast dish and each one came out with meat and “Mash Potato” with believe it or not a “Roast Potato” and strangely enough a “Boiled Potato” we didn’t get any chips though. Never in all the restaurants I have eaten in have I ever been served a plate with “Potato” and “Potato” and “Potato”. I think they should re-name it from “Grille Steakhouse” to “Grille Potato House”. They clearly have no idea what an English roast should consist of, just expect to be deeply disappointed. After eating my Sunday potatoes I can only say I was still hungry so the plastic laminated menu returned for their dessert offering. I chose the chocolate fudge cake with ice cream having seen a photograph on trip advisor of this dish. What I received was just another disappointment, a small slice of cake which was broken in half and barley warm just out of the microwave. Needless to say I left hungry and deeply disappointed that I hadn’t gone to Mc Donald’s just around the corner. As I say, I’m sure this restaurant serves a superb steak, their reviews are good, just avoid Sunday Lunch until they actually do some research into what a “British Sunday Lunch” actually is. Potato with potato with potato - unbelievable!

We had an enjoyable meal, my partner had the lamb , I had the ribeye and my mum had the sirlion, everything was great, but the pepper sauce was very salty and thankfully I didn't tip it on to my steak, I asked for horseradish or English mustard instead , my steak was quite fatty, but my Mums was divine and my partners lamb was ten out ten , we will be back for another try.

Amazing food for a very reasonable price, one of the best burgers & garlic slices I've had. The staff are very friendly. Definitely recommend this place.

Recommend booking for Friday or Saturday evenings. The wine selection is very good, we ordered the ribeye steaks both cooked to perfection medium rare, the tiger prawns were amazing, the side of veggies were just as good. Then the desert choice was small but good selection. To top it off the service we received was amazing!!
