Plans nights out for uni like garden parties. The bar gets crowded so they tackled that by bringing staff round with drinks and shots. Bathrooms are a vibe, perfect place to debrief. I've made my closest friends in there. Got games like Jenga and a pool table so it's suitable for everyone and you can buy a griffin card that gets you 25% off for a year! WHAT A DEAL! went there of a day and got a load of sides with my family and we devoured that food it was amazing. 10/10 best place in Loughborough.

Three blokes at the bar, being ridiculously racist at the bar. None of the staff told them to be quiet. I left without purchasing.

Came in here to get lunch. Menu is Billy basics with light bites and lots burgers. Burgers all sound nice so choose one of them and a sandwich for my partner. Food was nice but nothing special. The staff member that served me had zero personality, no smile or interaction apart from the very basics to get my order. The venue itself is quite large inside and in good order with a mix of comfy seats and standard chairs with plenty of spaces to sit. The outside area is huge for town centre bar, which I can imagine is nice to sit out in during summer. Would I recommend visiting it. No I wouldn't, but I also wouldn't say stay from it either.

This place we discovered just by luck and definitely recommending! Absolutely amazing atmosphere, felt welcomed, food was wonderfully delicious, lots of different draft beers, clean bathrooms, and board games. We will return . Parking was easy, just behind the pub, we paid a ticket for two hours which cost £2 after 6 pm. Thank you so much for such a wonderful food ! 😋 😋 😋

Great student pub with a good vibe and the best prices in town. Fantastic for any sports as there's plenty of screens. Food is also nice - especially the cowboy burger. Would highly reccomend a visit.

Really nice pub, had a relaxed atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful. I’m a wheelchair user and access is fine although the door is a little narrow and also has a disabled toilet which is a reasonable size.

Great bar with a great atmosphere, always really lively especially when the football or rugbys on. Top class food as well, would definitely recommend!

We came in on a Sunday afternoon for a bit of lunch and the food came pretty quickly. However it was not of high quality at all. I ordered a pizza and it came out completely burnt on the edges and appears to be from the freezer. Two friends ordered beer battered onion rings, the only ones on the menu. The first batch came out with the food quickly but the second lot came a bit later, and as seen from the photo, definitely not beer battered. We asked why we had been given obviously frozen onion rings and there was no clear answer other than they had run out? But surely beer battered onion rings should be made fresh? Or at least can be made fresh to order. Either way no apology was given and we're left very confused as to why we've been given food we never ordered, or at least a refund. Also the beans from the jacket potato were cold. Disappointed. Edit: We managed to speak to the manager who was very helpful and swiftly agreed to a refund for the onion rings.

A great pub with a great atmosphere. The food and drinks are brilliant and all at a decent price. The welcome is always warm and the fun is always going. Love it.

Had the steak and pepper and red onion baguette. Bread soggy and too many peppers and no red onion. Other meals were good.

Was in earlier today. The blond lady serving was amazing, funny and attentive. Couldn’t ask for better.

Always loved the Griffin, used to drink Pedi in there in the late 80s and 90s. 1st time back in a few years and whilst it had changed a fair bit it is still a decent pub though I had Guinness so I can't comment on the bitter at the mo. Anyway the great news is if you buy an annual discount card for a year (£5) then the beer (and food) in incredibly well priced. Already recouped the fiver after a burger and two pints. Chicken burger was good value for less than £7. On top of the competitive bar prices we were able to watch the rugby (football was on too) so I'd imagine they will have plenty of trade over the world cup. Staff were very good and friendly and stil has a great beer garden! Some on street parking close by (1 hour during core hours, otherwise pay to park car parks are easy walking distance). On the whole a top afternoon thanks and great value for money.

Now that I've graduated and my days as a student in Loughborough are over, I find myself reminiscing about the many evenings spent at The Griffin pub. This neighborhood spot became a regular hangout for me and my university mates over the years. We'd frequently stop into The Griffin on weeknights for their stellar pub quiz and trivia nights. Testing our questionable knowledge over a few affordable pints made for some hilarious and heated team debates! Even when we didn't win, the upbeat trivia hosts and lively atmosphere always made for a fun time. The staff also deserve a shoutout for putting up with our animated student antics on weekends, while serving us fast, The Griffin was a reliably chill spot. Looking back, The Griffin gave me and my peers loads of laugh-filled memories during our Loughborough days. For the great times it hosted and the role it played in my university years, I'd happily give The Griffin a 5 out of 5 star rating. Cheers!

Went for a catch up with friends. Great food, fab service and great deals.

Everything was nice except the ventilation. The first thing that struck us as we walked in was the stuffy smell and still air. I understand that the windows were closed to keep the warmth inside but it wasn’t great for the air quality. Anyway, food, drink, and reception were pleasant and warm. Overall, we enjoyed spending time there.

The Griffin is a great pub to spend the evening with friends, with exceptional service and a wide range of drink choices. Service is always friendly and prompt and has an incredible atmosphere that can’t be topped. Would highly recommend.

I have been attending the Griffin for the past 4 years as a student and hands down it is the best pub in Loughborough. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, prices are great, and the atmosphere is second to none. Whether you’re going for a chilled midday pint, or heading to one of their griff garden parties for a night of dancing, I can’t recommend this pub enough. Thank you Griffin for all of the memories over the past 4 years, you won’t be forgotten and I’ll be back!

Best pub in loughborough. If you fancy a refreshing meal with a few pints in the garden I would recommend the Prawn and Prosecco Marie Rose Salad. The bar staff were very good, in particular John.

The griffin is the best pub in Loughborough, and always has a really good atmosphere, including the food, music and staff being great! In particular the griff garden parties which are run on Thursdays in the summer are always fab events which sell out quickly, and are must go to events. I’ve visited this pub for 5 years at Loughborough whilst being a student and the decor and deals keep getting better, I will be sure to visit any time I return to Loughborough, and will miss having such a great pub at my doorstep!

Good place to eat,drink or catch a sports event. Staff are friendly and inviting and they even allow dogs.

I only knew night life here so I had to ask if kids are welcomed, which were, so took the kids here and was not disappointed, great staff, big screens, great price's, beats Amber rooms by miles, will be eating here more often, strongly suggest the ultimate southern fried chicken burger, even the fries were amazing tbh, next time i will be playing pool whilst waiting for dinner, which took less than 15 minutes to make us 5 different meals... 4.6/5... only suggestion is I'd love coleslaw with the burger but that's just me

Went in pub while visiting my sister for a few days. Lovely food, the young barmaid with tattoos was really friendly and made us feel really welcome. Said to my sister, its defo my kind of pub and next time I visit, will try to arrange to fit in with quiz night
