Lovely gastropub with modern and luxurious decor. Staff are friendly and service attentive. Menu is varied with a wide choice. The same is true of the drinks menu. We visited around 1:45pm for lunch and it was still very busy with new tables arriving. Most possibly because it is graduation day at Loughborough university. Whilst it was busy, it had a nice vibe and good atmosphere. Our food was lovely and plentiful. All our dishes tasted nice. I have been told the milkshakes are really nice and is a must try. Would definitely visit again. Highly recommended.

We arrived 10 minutes earlier, than our reservation was scheduled. Our table reservation was for an hour and a half. As soon as I finished my dessert we decided we will ask the bill, but surprisingly the waitress already made that and put it to the table. But not just we got the bill, three other guests got that too, even they didn't ask at all. We spent 1 hour and 10 minutes in the restaurant and not before closing so there was no reason to bring out the bill. The table service wasn't kind, we didn't feel we are welcomed at the restaurant except on arrival. However the dish we ordered was great, the seabass fillet and the classic hamburger was delicious the brownie is a bit of disappointment, instead of chocolate sauce on top they put nutella on it. Overall, we are not going to back even the reastaurant itself looking fantastic. I have never ever experienced this in a similar category restaurant.

Nice atmosphere; staff seemed a little slow to take initial drinks order - so we placed our food order at the same time, just in case we didn't see them again! - but it was very busy, considering it was a mid-week lunch. We have been to the Priory several times and have enjoyed it. However on our last visit we ordered cajan chicken and corn riblets. The chicken looked good but it tasted like it was drenched in salt. We drank a whole bottle of water after a few mouthfuls. The corn riblets were so hard you would would have ended up toothless if you tried to eat them. We complained about it and asked them to taste the chicken themselves but there answer was to take it off our bill which is not satisfactory as it's not rectifying the problem. We will not go again.

Staff awful, rude and most miserable. If you not happy in your job look for a new one. Won’t be coming back here in a hurry as the staff and managers are so miserable it made my carrots wilt. A very popular spot and busy on a Sunday afternoon. The menu for my taste was a little rich so I settled for plain gammon. It was ok but a little chewy and the peas had no flavour. My daughter had fish and chips and said that her fish tasted too oily for her liking but the chips were lovely on both meals. Our friends had the Sunday roast which looked good but the Yorkshire pudding was a bit tough to cut. A small bottle of coke was £3.50. Dessert was again ok. The churros were nice and not oily but we have had better. The service was good and the atmosphere was buzzing so a nice spot to have lunch but not blown away especially for the price.

We had a fantastic time at this place, which we visited for dinner on Friday night. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. We started with cocktails at the bar, and the barman was incredibly helpful, crafting a really impressive drink that set the tone for the rest of the evening. Our waitress was also friendly and engaging, and we enjoyed sharing some laughs together. The food was excellent, adding to the overall positive experience. The venue itself has a great atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy good company. We’d highly recommend this place to others and look forward to returning!

We visited as a party of five with four adults and one child. When we made our booking, we noted that one member of the party could not eat raw dairy. On arrival we were slightly earlier than our booked time, but were shown to our table. The restaurant was not particularly busy when we arrived, nor did it get much busier whilst we were there. Our server was very slow to take our initial food order but when it came, the food was very good and enjoyed by all in the party. We had to wait a while for our server to notice that we had finished eating. When she came to clear the plates she cleared three plates but then wandered off to clear another table leaving us with two dirty plates on the table. When she eventually came back and removed the remaining plates we ordered desserts, clearly stating that we would like to order the children’s brownie but with dairy free ice cream (which the sever confirmed was available) and no whipped cream. A different server brought out the desserts and stated that he had brought a brownie with dairy free ice cream but no nuts. He was confrontational when we queried if there was whipped cream on it (the bowl had not been placed on the table at this point so we could not see the food) and it transpired that it was not possible to order a children’s brownie with dairy free ice cream so we had received an adult dessert with brownie, but this had not been communicated to us. A different server brought out the bill but we had to approach the servers station to get it paid as all the serving staff were stood chatting (and had been for some time). To be clear, the food was very good but the service was very poor and really spoilt our visit.

The Priory again proved to be a great meeting place for friends. The location is ideal with plenty of parking and we now would not go the short distance into Loughborough to seek and alternative venue. The food was excellent. We had the chicken roast dinner and it was one of the best I have eaten (the chicken was exceptionally well cooked. I must pay a complement to the staff who were very attentive and courteous especially the waitresses attending our table who allowed us more time when instead of choosing what to eat we spent time catching up with personal news. They were also smartly dressed and very polite. We will definitely be back. All credit to the management (I spoke to Ash) who again who made us fell like valued customers. Well done The Priory. I’m really disappointed. We came here after a wedding to celebrate and what was such a lovely memory turned so sour because of a waiter who was beyond rude. How can a waiter respond to a customer who is asking KINDLY to order and say “when I was taking your order you weren’t ready now you want to” Yes love. That’s what customers at restaurants do they need a few minutes to read the menu and then order. Whether it’s a lack of training or just overall customer service this is a disgusting way to treat customers who ended up spending hundreds of pounds there on one event. He didn’t stop here with his rudeness either. He mocked us in a sarcastic tone, he was lazy in his approach to wanting to serve us but when other customers walked in he was practically doing backflips off the wall for them. He even approached one of us girls in an aggressive and confrontational manner. It felt like we were ignored and treated like nothing being we were the only Indians in the restaurant. It just felt flat out racist and horrible. Myself or any of my family members will not be attending here again. It’s all good to apologise after but that man himself needs to fix up and an establishment like The Priory should take matters like this more seriously.

We went there recently for a little celebration after my civil ceremony, it was on the 4th of July , Thursday afternoon for lunch . This new member of staff ( not sure what his name his ) treated us really badly, made plenty sarcastic comments and we had to confront him towards the end . We are deeply disappointed because we have been there a couple times and never had such a bad experience . The new waiter not only ruined the day for us but made us not want to never go back ever again . He was downright rude and inappropriate in the way he spoke to my sister in law , hope the team has a word with him , such a shame that one such member of staff is ruining the Priory’s reputation

Once again i walked away with a bad taste in my mouth! We live within walking distance, and always walk away disappointed. It was father's day and my family and I went for Sunday lunch. The menu has one option for vegans a salad!! The food was at best average! We had to wait 50mins for our only course to arrive. Then asked 3 time if they could clear our plates from the table, when it was clear we hadn't all finished! Then told we had to leave and go and finish our lunch at the Bar as they had the table booked out to another party! So the priory failed to bring the food out on time and we had to move!! not sure why they offer 3 course, when they can't manage 1. Then the bill came I felt completely ripped off £4.60 for a glass of coke is a joke Overall I was very unhappy and won't be returning This ruined Father's day for me Thanks the priory😡

We visited recently for a Sunday roast, I ordered the trio of meat but there was no beef so I had double pork and chicken instead. The pork was super fatty, almost inedible. My partner had the Lamb shank which was meant to come with mash potato and gravy. When it arrived it was smothered in a bright orange sauce which tasted like pasta sauce, it also had the trimmings from the Sunday dinner and no mash potato/gravy as advertised. When we mentioned it the waiter said that’s how it comes (definitely doesn’t as we’ve been before and ordered it) and because she didn’t like the sauce he gave her a pot of gravy to pour over the top of it. Needless to say she didn’t eat it and went away hungry which was very disappointing. We usually come to the priory for breakfast and we came yesterday for a fry up. Every time we’ve come the fried eggs have been snotty so we always switch them out for scrambled or poached. Yesterday I had poached which was fine, but my partner had scrambled and it was swimming on the plate. Quality of food has definitely gone downhill and I don’t think we will be returning for a while now.

Booked in for works meal, restaurant was pretty empty but we were put in the corner and almost forgotten. No ambience and had the worst steak and chips ever. Had to ask for festive menu as wasn’t offered even though booked, then no cutlery, then had to call back for sauces. Steak was fatty and unappealing in looks and the chips were solid and brittle. I think they were reheated triple cooked chips from a couple of days before. I would have complained if 1) we had seen someone and 2) if anyone bothered to ask how our meals were. The person serving us was really pleasant but maybe inexperienced. Next year we will be booking somewhere else. What a shame. My parents visited a couple months back with friends and had the same sort of experience but they had to keep going to the bar to ask for service so feel The Blue Bell has just gone down hill which is a shame.
