Badgers sett is one of my favourite pubs locally,always fresh and delicious food served,staff is very friendly, especially David ,that looked after me and my mum during our dinner, outstanding service ,thank you so much 🙏

Booked in for Sunday lunch, food was fairly decent, although it missed the mark slightly. Service was appalling, which is a shame as this place is a firm favourite and we regularly visit. I appreciate it was a bank holiday Sunday, there were ample staff, but we had to keep trying to find a member of staff when we required service during our meal.

A wondrously dreamy country pub. From the moment we drove up to it, we fell in love. Everything about this business is perfect: the service is friendly and warm, the food is hearty and delicious, and the location is perhaps one of the best in Leicestershire. There appears to be a real sense of apathy amongst those working in the hospitality industry at the moment - I’m not sure whether that’s a generational problem, or a product of a failing economic order - but the team at The Badger’s Sett (where is the apostrophe, by the way? The marketing was conflicted on this point - my only criticism!) are an exception to this rule. They are all such fabulous and wonderful people. Thank you, to all, for running such a marvellous establishment, to which we will return with vigour, delight and relish! Xx

Great service from David, who made a family birthday lunch so much more enjoyable. The food was delicious and we had a cosy table by the roaring log fire. We will come again!

Great, service prompt Not so great. Because the plates were cold the vegetables were only just warm and by the end of the meal cold. The meat temperature was fine. Because we were on a time schedule we did not have time to complain. The quality was good but most of the food was cold. Nobody checked if the food that had been served was OK and when paying no one asked if the food had been OK.

As our first time at the establishment, we found the Badgers Sett to be a wonderful visit. We ordered Sunday lunch and although the vegetables were slightly over cooked, the meat was tender and delicious and the lemon tart was exquisite. Our server Tiffany, was attentive and friendly and the whole place had a charming and cosy feel about it. We will definitely visit again.

Delicious food and amazing service the staff really go above and beyond for every guest! I certainly will be coming back !!!!

Regularly come here - great friendly service and good quality food in the heart of Crospton. Right next to bradgate park and dog friendly - which is a bonus!

I have been a visitor to this pub, many times over many years. I'm not sure if it's under new management, most of it's staff have walked out or it's just generally gone way down hill. We booked a table for 5 at 8pm for my Dad's Birthday. We arrived around 7.50pm and although the car park was very busy, the pub seemed quite empty. There was no one in the bar and 1 other couple in our seating area. We we're served drinks in a timely fashion and order taken for food but then it went rapidly down hill. After just over an hour from ordering, we were asked if we wanted any more drink, i asked if we were likely to get any food. Within 5 minutes he was rushing to the table with what looked like very hurriedly plated starters. Our pate had no caramelised red onion chutney and the rustic toasted bread was thinly sliced ciabatta bread. The baked scallop & king prawn had 3 prawns (nothing king about them) and 2 scallops that were very over cooked and at the price of £12.25, it was disgraceful. As they'd run out of chutney, they offered to change my starter for the creamy oven baked garlic mushrooms. At this point, it had gone from bad to worse! The mushrooms were barley covered in any sauce and there was something placed on the top which resembled and had the texture of dirt. There was no improvement with the mains. 3 of the meals 1 x signature burger and 2 x grilled bacon chop were served with those awful skin on french fries which were actually cold. The onion rings were cold and snapped. The bacon chops consisted of a slither of gammon, with excessive rind and i think by the size, they used quail eggs. The place also seemed to have a layer or grease on it. The pie was terribly dry and over cooked and we had to ask for the gravy, which had been left off. All in all, this has to be the worst meal i have had in years. I've been served far better food in Wetherspoons for a fraction of the cost. I have no problem paying exceptional prices for exceptional food but what we were offered was far below the standard i would expect, for the prices you charge. You let yourself down on service, presentation and quality and although you too off the cost of the starters from the bill and gave us a half heated excuse for such poor service, i don't think any of us would ever use the pub again! 5 very unhappy customers and a ruined Birthday Meal :(

Ideal place for a nice dinner with amazing ambience . There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The drinks are pretty decent . The pricing is also pretty good for the service provided.

I am sorry but the food let you down today for Sunday roast beef dinner. Absolutely lovely pub with a proper log fire and excellent attentive staff. The beef was really good and tender but the roast potatoes were tough and it was warm but not hot as a Roast should be. I am sorry to be critical but when I am paying £19.95 for it I have to give criticism 😔

Unfortunately seems to have gone downhill recently. On two separate occasions in recent weeks, most of the food was cold and took a long time to come, when it did there were parts missing. Portion sizes were also really disappointing compared to other similar establishments. Excessively expensive for the quality of food and service. The staff are polite and trying their hardest but they seem stressed and out of their depth, lack of management and direction maybe? A lot of other tables were having similar issues too, which created an awkward atmosphere. Overall a hugely disappointing and exhausting experience, hate to say I won’t be back as before recent weeks we’ve never had a single issue here.

Lovely venue & great service from Chris & his colleagues. We all had the Sunday roast dinner (turkey) which was lovely. My elderly mum had some difficulty cutting into the crispy roast potatoes but on a positive note - it left her with a bit of room for a delicious dessert. Will definitely go again.

Just had Sunday lunch here - 1 x Belly Pork & 1 x Lamb Rump. Absolutely gorgeous! Unlimited gravy, loads of veg & massive yorkshires! Our drinks order was taken by a young lad on his first shift - he was very charming & funny & put us at our ease straight away. Our food order was taken by Pip 😊 who was very friendly, polite & gave service with a smile. In fact all the staff we encountered were smiling. Was a genuinely great experience. We’ll be back 😀

My husband & myself had been recommended to visit the badgers set by our daughter. We had a lunch with our grandson whose favourite main was pizza. He had the one form the main menu & loved it! ! Managing to eat it all & have ice cream for dessert! I had the garlic prawn showers & chips which was delicious. Pip was friendly & helpful while serving us and nothing else as too much trouble. We were one of the first in restaurant & it filled up very quickly with groups of diners who all looked like they were enjoying getting together for a Saturday lunch as we were. Will definitely make a return visit with the rat if our family.

Booked The Badgers Sett for a family meal on Sunday. We were moved from our original table as we had a dog which is completely understandable. However, it felt as though where we were then sat was isolated from everywhere else. Nobody came to do check back’s on food. All of our meals were cold and took a long time to arrive considering we had two children under the age of 5. The table next to us had dirty plates and dishes on it the entire time we were sat there. Bar staff not the friendliest when going up to order food/drink either. For such a lovely pub in a nice location we have been left very disappointed as we have been before and it’s been excellent.

We visited on a Sunday and chose from the Sunday menu which was fantastic. We all had roast dinners but there were plenty of 'normal' options too such as steaks, burgers, and pasta. My mum had a few special requests for her meal and our server Thea was very accommodating, she alone gets 5 stars from us! The pub is very cosy and has a dog friendly section separate from the main restaurant, and a fire which we appreciated since it was chilly outside. The food was fantastic and beautifully presented, and the lamb and pork were cooked to perfection (the carrots were a little hard but that may just be our preference, but the crackling was the best i've had....ever?! ). We'd definitely recommend the Badgers sett to anyone!

Awful food, salad was pre packed food and the salad had ‘gone off’. Never go back again. Staff understood and discounted food but didn’t really care.

We enjoyed a lovely late lunch at the Badger's Sett in Cropston. We were served by Tiffany, who ensured that we were seated and presented with a menu promptly. She was courteous and checked to make sure that we were happy with our meal.

Unfortunately this was not the best of experiences The cost of the food did not match the quality which was very poor . Very Shabby and unloved, again given the price point of the menu . Very stretched staff team who were clearly doing the best at a very busy time.

Tasty meal and good portions. Yla very helpful with a wine issue, changing the offending drink without question.

Bank holiday Monday. Had the Moroccan chicken skewer, the garlic lamb skewer, onion rings and flatbread with hummus. All delicious. Great service even though we were outside and previous customers had swapped table qr codes around. Cannot fault our experience.

Booked for 3 sat 23rd Aug Nice warm atmosphere dining room set up nicely The food was pork belly with pulled pork and apple bon bon Lamb rump with minted lamb pie lots of fresh vegetables. Stocky toffee pudding was ok Mango pavlova was big but a little dry needed more fruit compote. Mini fruit crumble with custard very nice definitely visit again .
