The food and the service were both excellent - well worth a visit if you want a really good Sunday lunch with a decent pint.

We had a lovely meal. My wife is coeliac and the gluten free menu was extensive and tasty. The kids menu was also great for the kids and they enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding! Great quality food and a lovely country pub atmosphere.

The food was very good. Having our meal order taken was a bit slow but the staff were clearly busy with a large group in the bar so understandable.

Great food and great place to eat. Service was prompt and very polite. Just one slight issue with a hot plate BUT that was sorted immediately by the staff. Will certainly be eating here again - Lucy and the team do an amazing job

Food was incredible, specially the toad in the hole such good value for money how ever the bar staff were rude. been a couple of times and been made to feel uncomfortable by sniggering behind the bar. My drink was also made wrong this is the second time this has happened. No apologies given. The plates came out extremely hot specially the child’s plate handed straight to her with no warning, this then resulted in her burning her hand. When I approached the man working and asked for something cold to put on it we went and got a tissue full of ice, (took his time) but still no apology. No one came to ask how our food was atall.

Food was brilliant and staff were friendly . The pub felt clean and cosy and it had a gluten free menu. The only issue was the online menu wasn't up to date and they got my sides wrong. But overall it was lovely

A lovely dog friendly pub with really nice food and friendly service. Dropped in here passing through with our 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks who were made a fuss of and given water. The food was very nice indeed, shame we don’t live closer, we would be regulars.

Always enjoy my Sunday roast's in the Greyhound and good value. Tasty starters that appeal to both my partner and myself for example whitebait or the cheese and black pudding bon Bon's. Tasty beer's too.

We would absolutely love to see more gluten free options such as pies and fish dishes. Me and my partner had are first date here and fell in love with the place then the majority of gluten free options disappeared hence we only now come once in a blue moon now. Please send me updates if you have any plans to add more dishes to the menu or would like ideas of what to add the menu as we’d be willing to help on this matter . With hope Simeon

Excellent food,staff very clean and tidy

4 of us came in as a treat for Mother’s Day on Saturday 9th March 2024, and what a lovely evening we all had. From start to finish , the food, service and atmosphere was fantastic. Would highly recommend . Thank you for a great evening and we will definitely be back again soon .

Our 2nd time of visiting whilst being on holiday in the local area and it didn’t disappoint a 2nd time. 5 stars with how attentive all the staff were, food was amazing and overall atmosphere was top!

Amazing roast dinner on a Sunday. Visited today with the family whilst on holiday. I’m very fussy when it comes to a roast dinner, but I have to say this is probably the BEST pub roast I’ve ever had!!! The beef was incredibly tasty and perfectly cooked. The yorkshires were big and crispy. The potatoes (wow) these were awesome. The gravy was perfect, the veg was yummy, the cauliflower cheese was great…..basically, it was awesome and I’d highly recommend it. I hate going to a pub for Sunday roast only to be disappointed………but, I LOVED the roast at The Greyhound!!! The kids had a roast too and loved it. Dessert was also really, really great. Sticky toffee pudding ………. MEGA!!! Finally, for the quality of food, I thought it was excellent value. We loved it so much that we booked another table whilst we were there for midweek, to try their non-roast menu.

We love the Greyhound and not sure why it has taken so long to leave a review. The staff are very attentive, friendly, chatty, and helpful. They give the pub a very welcoming and buzzy vibe - something many establishments lack these days, which makes the Greyhound stand out. We had Sunday lunch and there was no one plate which wasn’t cleared by the end of it - we were a party of 2 kids and 4 adults. Adults had the roast (2 beef 2 pork) and the kids had beef burgers and home made fries - which they thought were delicious. Portion sizes were generous but that didn’t stop us all from eating the whole lot. The roasts were presented beautifully and then came the sides (part of what you pay for the lunch) of greens and home made cauliflower cheese, spilling over the dish it was cooked in. It was clear to see everyone else in the pub enjoyed their food too as the pub was busy, which gave it a buzz but not stacked - so buzzy but relaxed. The pub itself is traditional and just the sort of place you hope for when you go for a pub - cosy, proper bar, wood and fires! Not polished, but clean and rustic. After a family walk, heading to the greyhound for Sunday lunch just perfected our day! We will most definitely be back! Thank you Greyhound!

We love the greyhound for its welcoming atmosphere, the roaring log fire and most importantly, the excellent food.

Found this pub online, and was very easy to book a table. We arrived and were greeted straight away, and shown straight to our table. Service was second to none, as well as the food. We ordered roasts and were extremely happy. Fantastic food. Our dog was offered a biscuit. Candle lit on table added a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Nice Sunday lunch, next to a real fire. Black pudding bon bons as starter......highly recommended. Side dish of vegetables was slightly poor, all greens!

Expected it to be quiet on a Monday lunchtime, but both service and food was great. Very pleasant bartenders . Just a beer or two with a quick bite to eat. 'Small fish & chips'. Excellent value ! Unless you're starving , your not likely to need the Large!

Went for Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday. Staff were efficient and friendly. The pub/restaurant had a lovely ambience. We had roast loin of pork with all the expected trimmings it was absolutely delicious at the end of the meal they came out with little brownie and piped happy birthday with chocolate sauce. Lovely meal, lovely experience and very reasonably priced

We had lunch on Boxing Day, sat by the open fire and enjoyed delicious food from the menu and specials board and excellent service. It’s been a long time since we all enjoyed such a great pub experience. Would recommend to all!

Friendly staff, great table service, massive food portions all cooked to perfection and piping hot. Huge selection of specials on the board as well as the main menu and reasonably priced. Great selection of Cocktails and drinks. The Greyhound is one of the best pubs we have ever visited.

We just had Christmas dinner here and the whole experience was fantastic. The food was very good, the staff great and the general vibe in the restaurant was very relaxed and chilled. All in all a cracking Christmas Day dinner out.

Great food, service and atmosphere in a friendly unpretentious village pub. Makes a pleasant change from the chain restaurants owned by the big brewery companies. Decent sized car park. Good that they asked about food allergies.

It was a lovely meal,all served hot even thou we all had completely different dishes. Staff very helpful and happy.

Food was really good and tasty, tempura vegetables and mushroom sourdough starter was fantastic. The cod and chips was delicious and a huge portion which I could not finish.

The staff were very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Quick and efficient service with a really friendly atmosphere. A good selection of Beers, wine and food to choose from.
