Nice pub, nice staff, and right next door to the premier inn. You have your breakfast in the pub via the premier inn

Called in for a drink after an afternoon walk. The place was quiet, mainly due to the council doing some road alterations, hindering traffic access.

I love the Gretna. The staff are always very nice to me and j enjoy the food a lot. I love the chicken meals, such as the chicken tikka curry and the southern fried chicken burger. The chocolate fudge cake is also really good for the price.

Had a Premier Inn breakfast here. Food was terrible and cold, pastries were still raw, instant coffee served up instead of fresh grinds, tables were dirty and chairs looked like someone had taken a shit on them. They have set the breakfast price £1.50 higher than a Beefeater/ Bar & Block P.I restaurant. I thought the Brewers Fair chain was rough until I came here 🤮

Super friendly staff with a lovely atmosphere. Was 20p short on a drinks bill and one of the bar staff gave me a 50p towards it! Not sure of her name but thank you so much, you were a life saver. Will definitely be back.

I stayed at the Premier Inn and had breakfast at the Gretna Green Hotel. I was very impressed by the warm welcome. Emma's service was warm and friendly and fast; she really made me feel welcome and comfortable. The breakfast (made by Greg) was fresh and tasty. The whole experience set me up for a challenging day at work . I'd had dinner the night before, and had the same positive experience. All the staff were an example of how great service should be. I'd recommend the salmon sizzler.

After visiting the gretna green, I can say I won't be coming back. The food was good, the place needs a good clean, napkins and food under the table .staff need some training .they brought our main course out when our starters were still on table.

A typical Hungry Horse pub, food was pretty standard, service was a little lacking but it seemed they were winding down for the evening, taking more interest in setting up for breakfast than sorting current diners out. I enjoyed my meal and it was decently priced.

Had an overnight stay at the Premier Inn and arrived too late for an evening meal. The staff were so helpful in suggesting nearby takeaways and quenching our thirst after a long drive. Breakfast the next morning and again such friendly staff and quick service. I am gluten free and was offered a wide selection of breakfast options. If you are heading North I would recommend this place as a stop over to break up the journey.

Served by the lovely Layla and had absolutely stella service. Made our weekend birthday plans very special 🙂

I often call with the family for food as it good value and child friendly. Today we were greeted at the bar by a new face, Jacob. He was very polite and friendly even when I was struggling with my daughter he remained patient, it was so nice not to feel rushed in any way.

Visited for the soft play, the area is very dated and doesn’t smell very nice. Asked for the mac n cheese and got a bowl of cold canned macaroni cheese, I got a refund on this as couldn’t eat it. Others in the party had food and didn’t enjoy theirs either. Food shouldn’t be served in the soft play area if it’s this terrible

I've been visiting this place with my 2 children for the past 10 years. They loved the Wacky Warehouse, but now they're older, we only attend the restaurant part. Usually very happy with our meals but on the last 3 visits the food hasn't been as nice as it normally is and seemed to be lower quality items being used. We normally visit around once a fortnight but I think I'll be checking out the reviews over the next couple of months first to get an idea if things have improved. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. The place always looks tidy and presentable when I have visited. Always manage to get a parking space. I am disabled and this is easily accessible for me, so hopefully, things will improve in the future and I can look forward to visiting again.

Bog standard chain pub. Badly in need of coat of paint. Ash trays outside looked like they were last emptied before Easter

Pure garbage food, to me it was all frozen farmfoods rubbish!!! The tables were filthy plates, glasses stuff all over would not be going again 😒!!

We used to use this place quite a lot, but stopped using it because the standard of the food ie whether it was cooked fully, over cooked or cold when served. Popped in this morning for breakfast some of it was OK and freshly cooked and hot, however some of the sausages were not fully cooked and only lukewarm, bacon was very fatty and only just warm, the toast was stone cold. The teabag is of very poor quality and didn't make a very good mug of tea (for the extra charged a pot of tea would have been a better option to supply) also the cranberry juice the wife had was a very cheap version from a carton. Which just goes to prove, standards have not improved therefore we won't be going back again until the company does something about the issues.

Canny aye...food was hot, quick and tasty.

Had a great meal on the 24 May. However tonight (25 May), the staff were quite rude, short of attention especially when it came to me ordering my mum a wine which they sold the girl didn't hear me, also did not put ice cream 🍨 on my meal. Had no Mac and Cheese, my mum's food was cold so had to have a replacement done and the receipt 🧾 didn't register ice cream which I ordered at the bar. I was gonna be charged again despite asking before and the staff member got it wrong by not adding it to the order. Left me in a right foul mood. So hence the rating.

Their were 5 of us and we all said the meals were brilliant. The staff Sarah g. Chefs Greg and taff were very professional in their job 😀😀

Awful takeaway. 8 forks of veg. 2 pieces of fatty meat. Dried and partly reconstituted mash. Never again. Disgusting food

Brought beef lasagna out instead of vegetable when my partner is vegan and mine the portion was diabolical wouldn't of fed a toddler

Unfortunately we didn't have the best experience here, my vegetarian meal came out and it was beef two other adults got fish and chips which in all honesty, no bigger than the two kids meals. They replaced the vegi meaI but everyone else had finished their meals and the plastic wrap was still half way on my lasagne bowl, booked because I had an email to say they were taking part on feed your family for £15 , but our meals came to nearly £50 Staff friendly as usual

Always have a lovely meal here. Quite often come for breakfast too, which is always lovely. Great staff, friendly and clean.

*UPDATE November 2023* We came for breakfast as a family and I can honestly say this was shocking. I'm not sure what has changed here but the bacon was half cooked and 80% fat and cold. The whole portion of breakfast was really small. Small egg, 1 spoon of beans, fatty bacon leaving barely and meat. Not to mention my wife found what we believe to be hard plastic in her egg. Both our breakfasts were the same size as one of our daughters kids breakfast but put on a larger plate and 1 extra hash brown. Our other daughter wanted waffles bacon and syrup. The portion and temperature was fair but the waffles were very hard. Could barely get her folk in them and were crunchy to eat resulting in her leaving half of her food. It's a shame to see the food going down hill as the atmosphere is still nice. *1st review* Come here all the time. Breakfast is fantastic every morning. Also the daytime meals are great aswel. The staff are very friendly and even remember our orders as we always order the same breakfasts. Prices are good and so is the atmosphere. I recommend this place to anyone.

When entering at 10.11am we are immediately told we can't sit in one side of the pub as they are still cleaning after the pub is open to the public. Then our drinks came out wrong and not to how we ordered them. The food....... my breakfast looked ill, pale bacon more fat than bacon. The egg had plastic cooked into it that I nearly broke my tooth on. My daughter had waffled it was rock solid she couldn't get her folk into it. Really disappointed. Also the small full English adults is the same as the children's full English only different is the kids get toast with their price.

It has change a lot (for the better) since I was last there over 2 years a go. Wheelchair friendly. This time the meals were more tastier and affordable. The staff are much more friendly, so much so I,m booking a reservation for my family of 16 for this year's traditional boxing day treat 2023.

Grandson enjoyed the soft play. The staff are so friendly. Food came out really quickly and was pipping hot.

The food was really nice. Really friendly service staff were excellent, very professional. Was a mistake with my order, and they fixed it straight away. Was quiet very clean and would happily go again. Drinks are a little expensive. But food was to bad.

Come here with my 3 kiddies and partner all the time, always friendly and helpfull when it comes to needing anything or things changed. They go out of there way to serve my oldest as he has a feeding tube and eating habits aren't the best but they always go above and make him something (sometimes stuff off menu that day) never complain or judge my 3 very noisy babies. Food is always lovely no matter what you get

Very friendly staff feel very welcome. Great food asked the chef to and chillies to my pepper corn sauce it was superb highly recommend this place as a family and all the family said they felt really good about it. The food was great young children enjoyed it. They also have a playpark in and outside the pub just if you anybody want to listen to this, go and try it for yourself highly recommend it.

Bought a service user here for her lunch. Came at 11.30 am .pretty quiet to say schools were off when arrived. Which was ideal for us as she doesn't like it when it gets busy. Food was fabulous great portions very fresh really enjoyed it couldn't eat it all . Had fish finger baguette and shared chips . Far to much but delicious. Staff really friendly used my blue light card to save my service user money . Definitely worth a visit. Started to get busier as we left

I have never felt to robbed with a meal as I have today. £8.99 for a tiny piece of fish that was all batter and 10chips. When I complained I got another fish of the same size all curled up and now I had 14 chips and a couple more peas. The chips weren’t even warm. I would never eat here again and will be telling my friends the same. It is shocking x

Great atmosphere, food is pretty good, very friendly staff indeed!

I visit a lot of Hungry Horse pubs... this one warrants a mention as one of the better ones. Unfortunately they did not have my first food choice, but the service was very friendly and efficient. The food was of a good 'pub grub' standard. The price was good. One star dropped for grubby toilets, but no worse than the majority of 'chain pubs' I visit a lot during long distance work trips.

Dirty plates had to order full English instead of picking it our self. Nowhere near the standard of brewers fair

Really disappointed with our food it looked good to start with but the roast potatoes on the Sunday best burger definitely weren't anyone's best. Don't think we will be returning

Excellent breakfast, honest food and great value for money

My first review was 5* .. unfortunately my second review was 1* ... Terrible food this time. Undercooked and tasted poor. Such a shame. Place wasn't too busy either. Anywhere can have a bad day but both mine and my other halfs meals were poor. We are neither. After 25 minutes not one member of staff had been to ask if our food was ok. Makes me question having a third visit. ______________________________________ Not quite a polished and clean as some other Greene King pubs but the food and staff were brilliant for the money. Eldest knocked a bottle over and they replaced free of charge and cleaned up. Would absolutely recommend here and definitely will go again! All day breakfast worked out around £5.50 on meal deal. Good choice of premium lagers too with Peroni, San Miguel and Moretti on tap. Really nice family atmosphere and most of it was generated by the excellent staff who lift the venue above a normal level.

We decided to have a family meal here last night 29/3/23. 3 of us ordered the Korean burger, 1 cheese burger and 1 mixed grill. 3 of us have now ended up with food poisoning, 1 of which being a young girl who has been taken to A&E due to the severity of the symptoms. If this is the safety and food hygiene practice that is present in the kitchen I highly suggest a revamp and someone that knows proper hygiene laws within the kitchen environment. I will be taking this further with a report including food standard at this eatery.

Had a meal today salad not washed jacket potato dry as sticks, no butter over all very poor for the price wont be back

Family pub with a reasonably cheap pub grub menu. There's a play area too. Nice to see low alcohol Old Speckled Hen, which was two bottles for £2.

Had a really nice Hungry Horse breakfast here. Friendly efficient staff and genuinely one of the best full English breakfasts I've ever had and only £4.99!
