Takeaway. Cash only. (You can cancel payment for rubbish food if credit card used). Crispy shredded beef in sweet chilli sauce. Better description is Cremated beef in rubber coating. Also had Kung Po pork. This time the rubber is on the inside of the tasteless coating. Same sauce for both dishes. I could have saved a journey by simply phoning the order and asking them to bin it for me. Avoid this experience. Buy straight from Morrisons, or similar. Absolute waste of brass.

First time ordering from here and I'll be back. Food was ready when I collected, very swift and absolutely delicious - will definitely be back again soon!

As a neighbor of this shop, I witnessed an incident yesterday and it made me very sad. The owner of this shop treated very badly and shouted at the person who came here to clean the waste oil yesterday. Unfortunately, the young man only wanted something that belonged to them, but the woman did her best not to give it to him and hurt the other person very much.

Speaking as someone that cooks Thai and Chinese from scratch. We ordered a takeaway from here as we had just got back from a long trip and didnt feel like cooking but what we received was an embarrassment to Asian cuisine. I'm actually shocked at the low standards that people have that would go back here. Also the chips were inedible.

Had a delivery meal, meal smelt odd when we opened the containers, very odd taste both my wife and I only ate a couple of mouthfuls before feeling sickly. Threw the whole lot away.

Only ever get delivery. Website is easy to use and you can pay online. If you order over the phone you have to pay cash on delivery. You can leave notes for orders before checkout i.e. no chilli in certain things. Service is very good and timely. Definitely recommend.

Ordered a special curry with chips, it came with around 5/6 small pieces of meat & 2 prawn, it was totally percectic for £6.10 I payed, don't even get prawn crackers anymore, it's a total joke, was like having a kiddies meals

I am disgusted on how the so called manager Jonathan spoke to me on the phone. My order is nearly 1 hour late and all he said was you are holding up the phone line and we can't take any other orders. Great customer service NOT. I will never use again. Part 2. Top it all off they got our order wrong and it was cold. The driver confirmed Jonathan was not the manager, so we can add lying to the mix. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Food has always been great but tonight I found a hair in my food disgusting please make sure you wear hair nets or something if I have a rare stomach condition and not need something makeing it worse so next time my response will be very different so I hope you like the use of straws

I'm afraid the name Thai bowl bears absolutely no resemblance whatsoever to the food being served up here which has any connection to Thailand or anywhere else for that matter. The rib starters were fatty and served up in a sugary, gulpy sauce that was immediately binned. The chicken foo young was just about edible but without flavour and could have been mistaken for a badly cooked chicken omelette with of course the odd pea here and there. To top it off.....cash only!! What's all that about Mr Revenue man?? First and most definitely my last visit....be warned!

I normally use Thai bowl once every month or 2 as I did last night but this morning I’ve woke up with treble diarrhoea and didn’t get to work today because of it

I find it hard to believe some of the positive reviews here. I ordered pad thai, beef in oyster sauce and egg fried rice. The egg fried rice was... well, what can you do wrong with egg fried rice? Though there wasn't much evidence of egg. The beef was tough and dry and there wasn't much sauce. I lived in Thailand for 14 years and the pad thai bore no resemblance to anything I ever ate there - it was frankly disgusting. I doubt that any Thai cook has been anywhere near the place, and if they have they should be ashamed of themselves. To add insult to injury, I was shortchanged by the delivery driver, though only by a quid and I put this down to poor maths rather than dishonesty. The best takeaway in Retford? You have to be joking... Hugely disappointed, I won't be giving the place a second chance.

I was very disappointed today. Ordered Kung Po Chicken, only 6 small bits of chicken in it hardly any fresh veg, seems like quality gone downhill. Also ordered the crispy Wonton to find them completely empty, all of them! I rang the restaurant, no apologies whatsoever. Very disappointed, won’t visit anymore.

I have ordered from here twice both meals where good. Try Crispy Pork and Chili Sauce which was very tastey. The lemon Sauce chicken was good. Prices are fare and well worth the try

Ordered today, nice menu, really easy to order online, quick service and food was good. Only improvement would be to the BBQ Ribs in sauce, it wasn’t as thick as you’d expect although the meat was well cooked

Since lockdown has finished I’ve had Thai about once every couple of weeks. Each time it has been delivered quickly and is piping hot. The whole family love it and it is by far the best takeaway in Retford.

Nope not for us. Delivery was super quick, but then we found out why. Sauces that taste from a jar, meat which I wouldn’t like thinks where it was sourced from. Starters were ok. But that was about it.

Ordered before lock down and fine. Ordered today, gross. Meat seems off and been covered in horrible sauce to try and hide it, and everything seems like its been sitting in grease for hours. Im not ordering from here again if this is the quality being sent out to customers. Avoid.

Fancied a chinese in the middle of lockdown and stuck in Retford. Having been left disappointed by other Chinese takeaways in Retford previously, I thought I would give the Thai Bowl a try. Very happy customer. The meal arrived within 1/2 hour of ordering. Arrived piping hot and tasted lovely. A real treat for Retford. Very happy that I now know where to go when I fancy a decent Chinese takeaway again

My family and I have just had the most delicious Chinese meal from Thai Bowl,even though the whole town is on lockdown this restaurant was absolutely great from the lovely young lady who took our order to the delivery man and obviously the excellent chef who cooked our meal. I can’t find fault.This was my first time here but I will definitely recommend them to everyone and will definitely be going there again.keep up the good work and stay safe.

Recently been living in Retford and during this time I have tried many Chinese takeaways, I can safely say having tried the rest, this is the best!! Exquisite flavours and immaculate service, always fresh ingredients which really makes the difference when demolishing this food. Quick friendly service and always a beautiful meal. Well all I can say is get the sliced chicken in lemon sauce and coconut rice I thought I'll try it it's proberly not nice well all I can say is omg the flavours the tenderness and the textures are impeccable absolouty mind blowing I order online so.cannot comment on the restaurant staff but the deliver chap was a Chirpy chappy smiley lad and looked happy in his work well done m8 now all the food so so nice mouth watering can't fault anything now the delivery costs £5 is excessive and then the service charge 50 pence for using an external company I think u could save that and run a system yourself it would pay itself in long run as your food was outstanding and we will be coming back 2115 delivery time 2028 order time excellent service keep it up

Disgusting food! First and last time ordering from here. Weird plastic texture chicken. Dry, tasteless prawns. Gloopy sauce pad Thai. Crusty not crispy duck! Wasted ££’s Plus: on time and hot! Shame it was practically inedible!

Had food from here on Saturday night as it was my brother in laws birthday .orders it on line it came 5 mins earlier so was good as we were all hungry .the food was amazing .full chicken breast fillets in the chicken dishes also the beef was so tender .everyone said how good it was will definitely be using you again .

Great pad Thai and fantastic around allergies. Usually Thai/Chinese places are a nightmare for me (allergic to nuts). However at Thai bowl they keep all these ingredients seperate so there's no contamination to worry about. Been eating there for a while now and have had no problems. Friendly staff as well :)

I hope this is not the best takeaway in Retford. The flavours were completely hidden by the garlic and the sauces were watery. The chips were totally indigestable.

Ate here for a leaving do in September and it was surprisingly good. The initial impression of the place is low but the food is amazing. You must also try their smoothies-they are to die for.

Absolutely awful meal. The sauce was thick and gloopy and looked like vomit. Dreadful presentation which is so important. Will never use them again.

Mmm, well we were lazy and instead of getting in the car and going to our usual takeaway we decided to have one delivered. Big mistake. It felt processed and not fresh. Overpowering taste of ginger from the duck and pineapple. Far, far to much. Chips hard, sweet and sour chicken bland and soggy. Best bit were the prawn crackers which tasted like our usual. Will not be visiting again.

Ordered Pad Thai amongst other items. Received something that I wouldn’t describe as Pad Thai, soup wasn’t as described. Feel like I’ve wasted £20 on a takeaway. Sadly won’t be using again.

After tonight wont order again meal luke warm curry congealed rang and obviously ingnoring my call as they no your number and whos calling. When got through offered us half price meal next time.i want a full refund not fit to eat .

Have just tried their new online service which I can only say is brilliant. Chose to pay on delivery as we usually do so no problems with them getting the money. The food, as usual, is outstanding. Can’t fault the delivery and it made a perfect New Years Eve night in. Well done Thai Bowl. If you like Asian food this is definitely the best takeaway it Retford.

The prawn crackers and house fried rice were nice but the fish cakes are like rubber disks and the lemon chicken tastes off. Shredded beef in peking sauce is also not very nice. Won't order again.

Not Thai food, as other reviewer stated, chicken leaves a lot to be desired. Sauce is too gloopy, Thai should be fresh,and flavoursome. Disappointing.

Ordered food for half six....... Then after we told our order was told it would be an hour and a half... And true to their word it was!!! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm good job I wasn't so hungry to start with, but was when it arrived. Chicken curry is tasty but lacked sauce for my liking.....Crispy chicken was good Duck rolls will admit are very tasty, reason I have only gave three stars this is just for the poor delivery time... In future it's probably best telling customers the wait before youve rang your order through not after when things are confirmed.

Me and my husband wanted a quick tea and went in to the shop on the way home and ordered and collected Chinese we had a set meal for two which was lovely food tasted great was piping hot when we got it home and also the shop was clean no bad things to say customer service was great

The Mrs treated myself to a lovely take out, had the set meal with the ribs and green curry.... Was all lovely the green curry in particular was fragrant and subtle with enough punch to eat to be a pleasent dish.... Maybe this is a spin on Thai food not sure... But currently it could be a new favorite as it serves up very tasty dishes!

Collected a few meals now from here. Great flavours, nice and fresh veg, but... DONT ORDER ANY CHICKEN DISH !!!!! Legally it probably is chicken , but only just. It is the most vile rubberised reformed #'?* I have ever tasted. Keep to the fish dishes

After visiting Majestic Theatre we had an hour drive back home so we chose this takeaway and was really impressed with the food. Only had a chicken chow mein but unlike some chinese where its greasy this was crisp and gorgeous

Well after being long time customers of freds on Grove Street we decided we would try somewhere different.mainly due to being lazy and wanting somewhere that delivered. Well it was a quick delivery but the food was OK not great left a greasy taste in the mouth and was a bit bland so in future we will be going back to freds Chinese which is much better

On the rare occasion that I find this place actually open; i have tried their Thai food. It is essentially a Chinese take away that offers what it regards as Thai food. I love Thai food and what they serve does not come near. The service is arrogant as their food is disappointing.

Great little take-out place - they do delivery to a big geographical areas, for a good-value fee. Food is really tasty (we like the Pad Thai and we love the Chilli and Basil beef) and you get lots of meat and vegetables, not just 'padding' in each dish.

We ordered a take away from here and we was pleasantly surprised how nice the food is. Everything is served hot and just cooked right. We will be ordering againA nice little Jem of a place in Retford.

Needed a takeaway last Saturday for 6 - 2 very fussy about their food and one coeliac who would not thank us if anything was not gluten free. I explained the situation to the chef the day before and he said there would be no problem. We had the set meal for 6 and all containers that were gluten free were suitably marked. We ordered early for fixed delivery time and it arrived within 10 mins of schedule which we thought was very good for a Sat. night. The food was really delicious and tasted really fresh. Wonderful to have spare ribs that did not taste of freezer ! The portion sizes were more than ample. Next day our coeliac friend reported no problem and one of our other guests said it was the best Chinese meal he had had for ages.!A great discovery and we shall definitely use Thai Bowl and their free delivery service again (as soon as possible!!!)

Much better than the other "Chinese" takeaways we have had in Retford. The duck spring rolls were small but delicious and crispy. My favourite dish Kung Po Chicken was the best I have ever tasted. The other dishes we had were tasty. Thai Bowl is definitely our new favourite now!

Decided to place a home delivery order,menu very easy to read and understand, young lady on phone very helpful and knowledgeable, meals arrived before estimated time by a very pleasant young man. Food was excellent, very pleased we decided to share one portion of rice as there was ample for the two of us,we both were more than satisfied with our choice. Can't wait to try something new next time.

I am a indian food fan but my daughter talked me into trying thai food. I was not disapointed and have had it again since then, a nice change and worth a try you wont be disapointed.

We had a leaflet through the door and we were so excited because we live Thai food. We decided to give it a go and firstly £4 delivery for 6 miles I thought was a bit much but I still went ahead with the order. I ordered Phad Thai as it my absolute fave food. My husband had ribs for started then pork and cashew nuts.There was nothing wrong with the food but it certainly was not Thai food. Simple Chinese food with a Thai worded menu. I don't know if they though a western pallet wouldn't know the difference, but we most certainly do!

We regularly order from Thai Bowl, the service is fantastic and the food is even better. The meat is good quality and fresh. The dishes are a little different from other take away's in town but obviously this is the only Thai in Retford. The Coconut rice is a must. A nice Som Tum salad would be a good addition.

The title says it all, everyone I've ordered has been very hot (temperature) and a great selection on the menu. I prefer to order on the phone and pick it up, this has caused a few communication issues as they can't always understand my accent but not a major problem. Ordering by menu numbers seems almost offensive to me but they don't mind and seem to prefer it. It would be good if they are open lunchtimes too, other than just Friday and Saturday. Wow Fantastic food red hot when it came there Galic Chilli Chips are a MUST! Also there Garlic Chilli Chicken for Starters but we had a mix of dishes this place is Fantastic!!

We were excited to learn that there was a new Thai restaurant in town so we thought we'd give it a try. When we entered, there was a guy in a shell suit sat in the waiting area and no-one behind the counter. It turned out that he was taking the orders in between doing deliveries. I asked about vegetarian options and he said 'he didn't know anything as he was just the delivery driver'! He wasn't helpful at all and couldn't be bothered to ask the chef either. I ordered the Thai green curry which was awful. It wasn't like any Thai curry I've ever had before. My husbands meal was equally as bad. We felt that it was just a Chinese restaurant (a bad one at that) that was claiming to cook Thai food. Definitely wouldn't return there - ever!

Lovely takeaway Its a really nice little place with great staff and a lovely menu. The delivery and service is quick and efficient and you never have any issues.

We decided to order despite some poor reviews, the menu is a little confusing, however we were told it would take 30-40mins to deliver and it was promptly delivered in 25, the dishes tasted freshly cooked, not at all greasy and were all delicious! Give it a go!

where oh where to start? i love thai food , one of my favourite taste experiences, so i'm always keen to try any new thai restaurant i find and when one opens up in my home town expectations are roused. unfortunately this one lived up to those expectations.i had the mixed seafood soup to start, probably the nicest part of the meal really , but that is no accolade. the seafood was minimal and as tough as old boots. 3 mussels (small), 3 bits of squid (small) and a prawn. just the one. the rest was made up of mushrooms and lumps of tomato. the latter swung the flavour onto their side which isn't really what i'm used to. it was on the whole tasty though. the wife had her usual starter of thai fishcakes. they came in a kind of semi-burned brown skin which was a bit greasy and wrinkled and lacked any real flavour. straight out the freezer and into a deep fat fryer is my guess. we shared three main dishes. again the wife went for her favourite of chicken pad thai , which apart from the type of noodles and a slight sweetness wasn't that different from chicken and noodles chinese style. it wasn't offensive but it wasn't pad thai. i chose green curry with pork which came with a two chilli rating. in my experience there are two types of green curry , there is the light yet powerfully fragrant coconut dish with tender pieces of meat and an abundance of flavour and there is the grey gloop. which is what i got. the wife says i'm being harsh but i found it quite vile. tasteless and unpleasant slop , almost certainly from a tin, with lumps of char siu pork ( the kind that you get in a chinese restaurant ) which totally ruined the flavour and any chance of it tasting like thai food. my other main was beef massaman with potatoes , and here i'm going to hazard a guess as to the care and attention that went into it's preparation. step 1 - open a tin of beef stew. step 2 - open a tin of potatoes. step 3 - open a jar of peanut butter. step 4 - open a bag of nuts ( taking care not to actually use very many at all ) step 5 - stir em all together in a pan til warm and serve. i have a good mind to go to a proper restaurant and buy a massaman and bring it for their chef to taste because whoever it is they sure as hell have never had one before. if the green curry was vile then this can only rate as disgusting. if you like beef stew from a tin then this is the meal for you, if you want rich, fragrant, enticing, tasty thai food then i'm afraid you still need to get on a train to lincoln or sheffield. tried once, never to return. 100% dissapointment.
