The Gregorian Arms in Southwark

Used to be a great pub, but recently changed management and now if you ask to get food delivered outside you'll be rudely told that that just isn't possible. A real shame, previous staff were great, now it seems like you're ruining their day by going in there

Went for Sunday lunch, absolutely disgusting, no potatoes then was brought out bowl of them but looked like they had come from a deep fat fryer with dirty oil Would not return or recommend

Had my husband's 40th here on Saturday and it was great. We booked a function room, Rudi (the manager) was super helpful and the staff were all great - speedy and friendly. It was a great night.

Perfect place to order a drink and spend some time chatting with friends. Please don't order any food here. It is tasteless

Excellent location, generous space both inside and outside. Average prices. Average food is not bad, but nothing wow. A place to drink and eat something quick is ok. Customer service is good but not homogeneous. There are two people who can improve their service by being nice and smiling. A brighter light will help this place inside, as the light is very yellow.

Such a shame. This place has fallen off a cliff foodwise. Not sure if under new management, or just become stingy and tight and want to up their profit margin. The Sunday roast used to be great, enough food to be satisfied and really tasty too. Now, it's very stingy, poor quality, and the Yorkshires are no longer homemade. Funnily enough, the price hasn't gone down for the roast We needed to order more food after it. Avoid

We booked out a room at The Gregorian for a birthday and it was so great! There was no charge to reserve the room and the minimum spend was extremely reasonable and easy to hit. The service was also great despite the pub also being very busy. The people there were so happy to change the volume of the music, bring us food and drink when we wanted it to come, and regularly came in to take the empty glasses and used plates. We will definitely reserve a room here again for future events! The pub itself is also great and we love coming here just to have a pint. The food they serve is also really good and better than you’d expect for pub food. The menu has plenty of options and even options for vegetarians and vegans. There’s ample seating both inside and outside and the location is very convenient and close to the tube.

Both visits during our stay in the area were delightful. The service is warm and efficient. Our food was tasty and well priced. This is a good venue for drinks or a decent pub meal.

What a great pub. Seriously the best fish and chips I’ve ever had, and the guys behind the bar could not have been any friendlier and nicer. If I lived around there, it would be my hangout.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Large pub with great service. When we arrived it wasn’t too busy but it had just opened. Got the fish and chips and burger and fries. Both were delicious and the tartar sauce was some of the best I’ve had (out of a half dozen or so pubs around London thus far). Many rooms to choose from with plenty of seating. We opted for the back to be quiet and cozy. Both meals plus a bottle of coke and Guinness cost about 45 pounds if my memory serves me right. Food was probably 30-32 pounds of that. Would def come back and try other items on the menu! Would also be great to get a pint and sit outside.

Large pub on busy main road with cavernous interior. One ale on during our visit and issues with the Guiness, but staff were helpful and tried to sort it. Barn like interior is divided up with partitions but has a school room air.

Surprised by the positive reviews. The place was cold, lacking atmosphere and a terrible smell throughout. It looks great on the outside, but we were fooled.

Not much choice at Heathrow, overcooked spaghetti

Been here a few times as it's on the way to the Beer Mile and remember having to pay for the beer before it had been pulled, which I thought unusual. Nice no frills place though with traditional feel, will definitely visit again soon.

Security staff lock the front door in flagrant abuse of health and safety regulations. Scandalous.

It's my local so I'm biased but I love this pub. Do a mean Sunday roast as well.

Visited on a Saturday evening and they’d run out of beer by about 9:30, just cider left. Also, we tried to use a bar tab that we’d recently won at a pub quiz held at the pub - we were curtly told that’s not a thing anymore and the paper card explaining the bar tab was swapped for a card machine. Food is good value for money for the area

The minus star is because there was no fish and chips and because the menu is a bit skimpy. The environment is nice, I would say beautiful externally with benches and tables under the trees. Very good Beef Burgers and beer too. Passable service.

The Gregorian looks cozy when you walk past. Inside the doors you will find an ordinary pub and two rooms with an interior that brings to mind a classroom set up as an extra room in an allotment garden. It looks strange at first glance. The rooms can be rented for private parties.

Stopped in the pub for a quick pint. Has a couple of ales on tap, as well the normal craft and lager. Ales seem fine. Didn’t eat so couldn’t comment but the place was nice old school type of pub.

Absolutely love this place, it's a real hidden gem in the heart of Bermondsey. I went here on Sunday with some friends and had the roast pork (not my usual, but it looked lovely) which was sensational - can't wait to have it again. The food is always a hit here and I'm constantly surprised they manage to surpass expectations in such a small kitchen. I'll definitely be back.

Lovely beer garden but the service was not too great. Waited for our food for 45 min and then they said there was a mix up and that the kitchen is now closed. The staff didn’t really care and were unfriendly. Upon asking we got a free round but overall not happy with experience. Edit: Besides this one bad experience; always a good spot to grab a pint after climbing at The Arch. Will therefore increase my initial rating from 2.0 to 4.0 ;)

good atmosphere. good music. wonderful moments watching football games with my friends. birthday celebrations and sunrises. Because even though the pub closes at 12...you can stay on the terrace outside and have a great time. I recommend it in all aspects. every time I've been there. I have left looking forward to the next opportunity to come back

Really helpful & friendly staff. Really tasty food & good choice of beers on tap. Really quick service when waiting to be served. The only thing you should back a table if you're going with a bit group of people.

Popped in The Gregorian for a few beers with my family today... Then thought we would stay a bit longer and have the roast dinner.... Fantastic!! The food was amazing the beer was wonderful and the staff were very polite...What more could you wish for on a Sunday afternoon.. Thanks Guys

Fish & Chips, to niestety głównie panierka głęboko nasączona w przepalonym oleju. Na zdjęciu widać ile tego było. Sama ryba również nie zachwyca. Natomiast pub, bardzo fajny, piwo dobre, czuć lokalny klimat.

The Gregorian seems to consistently be able to impress with its food. In our first visit we had Burgers and chips, both of which were incredible. Restaurant quality. Now, we have come back for the fish and chips and they were absolutely lovely; flaky, thick white fish, a great butter on it while sitting on a bed of great chips! Also, the peas were chopped and mixed with butter and garlic, what a treat. It finished it all off with a perfectly poured pint of Guinness and Cider for my girlfriend. We will definitely be back more than a few times. What a wonderful gem in Bermondsey

Popped by for a couple of beers. A great pub, large beer garden out front, and big indoor space with lots of seating. Theer is a separate function room as well if needed. Interior decor is great, 1960's and 70's furniture is fantastic! Didn't eat there but menu looks good.

Didn't have food, so no comment. Really friendly feeling place with great staff. Not sure it would be a destination pub for me, but a definite if ever i'm in the locale

This spot is our local, been many times for different occasions. Quiz night, Sunday roast and beers in the sun. It does all of these things really well.

A great historical English pub with an amazingly large outside courtyard perfect for summers day . The inside is just as appealing with panelled Walla and old historical fixtures . Perfect for tourists . Decent prices and really nice welcoming bar staff. Lovely food and prices . Not much wrong with the place to be honest .

Great food, great atmosphere and great service. Had a burger with fries with Cornish pale ale. Burger patty was juicy and not overloaded with sauces. For the price in London it’s very good. Highly recommend it

A large, popular pub with lots of outdoor seating, so it's particularly good on a summer afternoon or evening. The building has plenty of character and there are several separate rooms inside. I had a good cask beer.

One of the best pubs around Bermondsey station

I’ve heard famous stories of the roast at the pub. When I arrived and experienced the food, it was nothing short of legend. Everything was perfectly cooked and couldn’t have been better. Big up the chef and awesome service!

I went to this pub and attend Labour Party meeting with Neil Coyle who is the MP for Southwark😍😍😍what a gentlemen he is.☺️👍he listened to everyone one by one. It was a great catch up with Labour members at this pub.There is a section on the left just after the entrance, the pictures and decorations on the wall are so interesting😁I paid £3,75 for a pint of coca cola😅cost of living crises can be seen from there🥴This conservative government made everyone(British citizens) poorer basically 😭I will become an MP and fix this craziness☺️Please vote yes for Labour and for me on the next election😀😀😀👍Love you lots my darlings. A lovely place with lovely people, drinks and meals are affordable. We had the beef burger and the vegetarian burger (10£) and it was perfect. The staff made sure we were feeling safe and comfy, the place looks very pub traditional.

My Team mates did some research and booked a table of 10 of us for a meal before some pottery painting that was close by. I had the bangers and mash and It was delicious! Very reasonably priced too. Would definitely recommend a visit if you're near by!

Meh. Only 2 options, 1 of which was vegan & both were roasts on the menu on Easter Sunday. No normal menu available. £19 for the beef, the quantity was fine but there was nothing to justify the price. The vegan was good but wouldn’t have been tried if there were other options. Staff a bit lack lustre with dirty outside tables & 1 napkin supplied between of us lol. It became clear why there so many tables free on a prime and sunny Sunday. Will give them another go at some point if the menu is more diverse.

Been living in this area for years, but never got a chance to visit the Gregorian. Decided to go for Sunday roast and left with mixed feelings. Pros: Location is great - outdoor seating on a 17 degrees day is amazing. Plenty of seats both indoor and outdoor. Toilets are clean and deco seems nice. The crowd was pleasant, not too rowdy and pretty community feel. Cons: Very limited food menu on a Sunday afternoon. Only had 2 options - Vegan or Beef and the prices were quite staggering. £19 for beef and £16 for the vegan roast. It did surprise us when we paid the bill. Though the food was pretty good, the prices were just too high. Service was pleasant but a tad slow, almost careless. When we first arrived, the staff were just chatting, so we weren't sure if we were supposed to get our own seats or wait to be seated. We were given one napkin instead of two as well (hence the careless comment). Not too sure we would come back again for food unless they have more options available, but perhaps for drinks...shame though, as it's a lovely pub.
