Horrible and would not go back. Sandwich on thin sliced bread which was hard and my daughters had hairs in her food which she left.

Very enjoyable meal. Food was freshly cooked, tasty and portions were good too. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will go again.

We had the most amazing meal Saturday evening, we had never tried Lebanese food before so we left it in the lovely landlady hands. The food was delicious and the chicken was so tender, we had a taster to take home as well. Cant wait to go back again soon.

My husband and I popped in to try the Lebanese menu and were delighted with it. Lovely fresh homemade food at a very reasonable price and nicely presented. Made to feel very welcome by the owner. We really enjoyed our visit and shall be back.

We went here as they’ve updated the playground and so it makes for a nice pub garden with loads of room for the kids to play while we got a couple of drinks and the kids some ice cream. Drinks were fine but the ice cream was the smallest I’ve seen in my life at any restaurant or pub ever. I really wish I had said something. It said it was two scoops of ice cream on the menu. Well I don’t think they are using an ice cream scoop- it must be a melon baller! My five year old said ‘that’s not a proper ice cream!’ We didn’t dare order anything else after that!

Disappointing visit - lovely place and setting for drinks but the Lebanese food wasn’t what it could have been. Owners trying hard to make the pub work but need to focus much more on the food quality

Great light lunch. New owners. Lebanese style food. We had hummus and avocado dip with flat bread and chips. All homemade, fresh and top quality. On menu chicken on skewers sounded great.

As someone who has lived in nearby Wokingham almost 35yrs - The Green Man was a regular ‘ get out of town ‘ village pub - but as the years went by it seemed to lose its sparkle ? - and I was sad to see it had closed at one stage for a short period . So felt it only appropriate to say after popping in with two friends on a Sunday lunch the last few weekends in 2023 - that the new owners have really made a big effort to return The Green Man to its former glory - Cosy with open fire and a nice atmosphere- seeing folk coming in for Lunch. Can safely say we / I will be returning to try their menu and to use as Pals meet up Pub. Keep up the good work 👍 PS - Guinness is excellent.

this is the quintessential English pub, the pub serves up a range of comfort food, from traditional pub classics to more inventive dishes. During my visit, I sampled the fish and chips, a staple done exceptionally well, with a perfect balance of crispy and tender elements. Service is great, with the staff demonstrating genuine hospitality, the welcoming attitude of the staff contributes to a relaxed and enjoyable visit. places like this are few and far between, I'm a big supporter of saving our traditional English pubs, although the weather was bad when I visited the fires were roaring and I noted a large beer garden with a large kids play area will be amazing in summer. so come on people support your local businesses before its too late.

Great, friendly and helpful new owners (since April 2023 I think) always make us feel welcome. Old world character to this historic place, without being stuffy or formal and just a very relaxing place to enjoy an evening out. Ales are well kept & the Breakspear is a winner. Added to this, the food is fantastic. The specials board is always top notch but the whole menu is high quality food without being over-priced. Would recommend for groups or just a quiet drink.

Popped into The Green Man for a couple after a long glorious day at Stanlake. Not eaten there in ages but as I was starving and I heard, Emily - the new manager, ask for a hamburger with cheese I just had to double up. What a pleasant surprise it was MASSIVE and not a massive price tag, comparatively speaking, either! I couldn't even finish it and was absolutely starving so well done 😋.

Firstly would like to thank Emily and Liam for the outstanding hospitality during my visit to the green man, The pie from the specials board did not disappoint! It was amazing, my partner decided on the fish and chips, which was massive and was delicious. Compliments to the chef for the food, didn’t get his name unfortunately or photos of the food! Will defiantly be back again soon

WOW! What a treat! I don’t know what this lady is talking about below….. I had a fabulous baguette filled to the brim with fillings, salad and even a bit of salad on the side! I did treat myself to extra chips on the side thinking I would need them…. I definitely didn’t The attentive staff were smashing I couldn’t fault my visit at all. Thank you Green man!!! We ordered 3 baguettes for lunch and waited 45-60 minutes for them and had to chase twice as we were in a bit of a rush. 2 of the baguettes were supposed to be hummus, red pepper and rocket at £8.50 each....... well to say they were disappointing was an understatement! barely a scraping of hummus, 2 bits of roasted red pepper and no rocket! We were really hungry so ate most of it but really weren't happy, won't be going back again, and believe me I'm not someone to complain but felt on this occasion I really should make the effort to. We have always liked this pub but sadly won't try it again.

Relaxed atmosphere, friendly behind bar and food was delicious. Gravity ale on draft is always a winner. Definitely reccomend if you haven't been back since the pub has reopened

This pub is worth a visit for a look inside. It has a very old history, and is full of dark nooks and crannies. We popped in for a drink and sat out in the garden, where there was a children’s play area, for our grandchildren. The only disappointment was the fact that several outdoor tables were not cleared of dirty dishes for most of the time we were there.

My local pub has really upped it's game! A great Sunday lunch yesterday (& last week!), the food has improved so much in the past few months, it's back to being our favourite in Hurst (which has several good pubs!). My kids love the garden too- which has the right mix of them being near enough to keep an eye on, but they enjoy their independence (just don't go expecting a great playground...). All in all, a really relaxing Sunday afternoon.

Peanut cheesecake was the star of our meal. Amazing flavour and perfect texture. Preceded by wild boar pate, steak and warm veggie salad. The salad was imaginative and tasty (no goat’s cheese nor crumb of feta in sight for once). Quick service, very friendly staff. And in a beautiful garden.

Been here for a drink before, but this time I brought my wine appreciation group for lunch before a tour of the enarby Stanlake Winery. We had the downstairs room next to the bar, which was perfect for a big party like ours. The food was a little slow arriving, but this wasn't a problem as we were so busy chatting. My ham, egg and chips was good quality and a generous portion. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food too. Staff were friendly and very helpful, especially when we had to amend our food pre-order. The interior of the pub is very traditional and there's a nice beer garden with a kids playground. There's a decent sized car park. A thoroughly enjoyable experience for us all.

My husband and I visit the Green Man fairly regularly to use their pub garden but today was our first sampling of their food for many years. We both had a Sunday roast. They were both fantastic. Food and service highly recommended.

The Green Man is a exquisitely interesting pub. Far from your boring single room with a bar slapped in the middle, the Green Man is a great mixture of open areas and quieter spots. It makes the whole experience more interesting.

There’s absolutely nothing gastropub about the Green Man; this is about as typical a traditional village pub as you’ll find whether its the decor, the food or the draught ales. Best of all, we got the warmest of greetings from the barman. There’s quite a large car park and a big beer garden with a kids playground. We only popped in for a quick drink and to make arrangements to bring our wine appreciation group here in August before visiting the nearby Stanlake Winery, but I’m now really looking forward to visiting this pub again then.

We always now come here for a family birthday or some family event...found it by chance about six months ago and fell in love with the food, atmosphere etc.

Been here twice now, the first time on a lazy weekday afternoon and again during a fairly busy Sunday lunch service. Both times the food and drink have been amazing. Excellent, fast and friendly service from the staff and nothing seems like too much trouble. Will definitely be back!

We recently went for lunch on a Sunday to The Green Man. The service was good and the price of the meals seemed to be good value. The atmosphere and very modern decor. I had a salad which was very tasty a superfood with grains and I added halloumi. The steak stir fry wasn’t quite what we expected but still very good.

We have had meals at The Green Man twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed the food each time. On our last visit we both had fish pie and it was delicious. The service is very friendly and efficient and despite visiting on a busy Sunday lunch time our meal was not too long coming. We'll definitely be going back for more!! Dog friendly too

Living 6 miles away I hadn’t previously visited this pub/restaurant, my loss.

Another beautiful lunch from Olwin and the guys, definitely our number 1 when looking for somewhere to go.

The lunch we had here was really good, Hake with clams - excellent, Fish pie, delicious as was the Steak and Ale pie, was too full for pudding. The only downside was being charged £9.50 for a large glass of Sauvignon Blanc.

We had a quick lunch here before doing the school run. We’ve been here many times, especially in the summer when the garden is pretty good. The service was friendly and quick. The pizza menu is awesome and highly recommended.

Returned to the Green Man today and cannot recommend it enough. The food is back to its very best and well worth a visit if in the area. The staff are always friendly and accommodating and always make you feel welcome. Have already booked for next weekend and cannot wait to return.

It's always reassuring when you enter a previously untried pub at noon on a Monday and there are 'reserved' signs on many of the tables. Must be a sound place, I thought, and so it proved.

It’s so disappointing that such a lovely place with good food and service can’t cope with volume anymore!! Ordering a lunchtime sandwich takes an hour - been using pub for years.....more kitchen staff needed perhaps?

Tried this place for lunch on a Wednesday. We didn’t book but whilst busy plenty of tables. Land Lady and Lord very homely and service, ambience and food all very good. Reasonable price. Our hosts have only been there 4 months but sadly are leaving in a few weeks. They will be missed.

We don’t travel too far but we went to hurst and found the green man. I’m so pleased we did, we both had a starter and a main which was second to none. The food was excellent and presented so well. The staff were lovely and very welcoming, we’ll definitely go back.

Nice quiet pretty garden area. Big jackets potatoes with plenty of filling, they arrived fairly quickly as well. Last time I went for dinner it was also very good too, big portions, very tasty and friendly staff. Would recommend!

Nice old country pub in Hurts just outside Twyford and about 5 miles from Bracknell and Wokingham. Unfortunately at 6pm on Sunday there was no Sunday roast left. So we ordered from the menu. Liver pâté was very nice and would recommend but unfortunately the main meals were over seasoned with salt and spoilt the sausage and mash and pie and mash. Was going to stay for desert but no one wanted to stay.

My sister lives in Hurst, and we used to visit here regularly, however haven’t been in a while. Decided to return to the pub a few weeks ago and was appalled by the state of the pub under new management. The new couple are slow, cannot use the tills and argue in front of customers. They are rude to staff and people waiting at the bar, and seem to spend most of their time sitting down while the young staff run around. The food is overpriced, with ridiculously small portions, particularly the starters. My sister having spoken to some of the locals found that people in the local area are now avoiding this place, due to the recent changes. The building is beautiful however, and there is a lovely garden for children to play in. If you are visiting Hurst, I would recommend to go elsewhere!

We called in with some American friends and relatives because of the quaint building. We had read reviews on the food and were not disappointed. Specially with the present fine weather, eating outside is a pleasure. The food and choice of drinks is good, the service usually quick and smiling, the quality of the meals good, and the prices as they should be in a pub that does not pretend to go gastro.
