Great food. We had the Sunday roast and as a veggie the wellington was fab. Sheila the waitress was so lovely. Really patient with our elderly in-laws!

We decided to visit as our previous experience in January with family was poor. My wife complained at the time and as a result we were offered a voucher towards the cost of a meal plus an apology so we decided to try again with high expectations. Sadly this was not to be. Whilst our waitress was excellent the main meals took an hour to arrive and the restaurant wasn’t busy either. I ordered Hunters Chicken , when it arrived it was a breadcrumb coated piece of chicken with bacon , with cheese etc and chips however to say it was over greasy was an under estimate . I have never had Hunters Chicken presented in this way and hope I never will again especially being so greasy. We then witnessed another member of staff drop a large container of clean cutlery on the floor only to then put it all in the holders ready to use again. If this wasn’t bad enough my wife had a query and was asked by our waitress to speak with a member of staff at the counter. When she approached the staff member asking for help she was met with a curt reply saying I am dealing with a customer you will have to wait . Quite frankly the high prices charged at this establishment and the poor experience received again will mean we will certainly tell others to avoid as we will. In contrast we went to another Pub/ restaurant the following day a short drive away which was cheaper and the food and service were excellent .

Relaxed atmosphere in country house style, nice reliable grub well presented from a straightforward menu with just a few twists to make it a bit special, friendly service from Liv P. Very enjoyable lunch with the missus, made even better with an on-line offer!

Great first visit today with my wife, daughter and dog! Sat outside ordered drinks via app . Arrived quickly. Then ordered food. Decided to move inside assisted by a very helpful Mike who found us a table. Great pub, lovely food and friendly staff. Will return and would highly recommend.

Food took a really long time to arrive. It took two hours for two courses. Food was over cooked. Waitress did her best. She was unsupported by her manager. Clearly a problem in the kitchen

The food was lovely. We all opted for Sunday roast of either belly pork and roast beef. Starter we had rustic soup which was delicious and a variety of puddings were had - berry crumble (favourite), chocolate brownie and mini brownie with ice cream and coffee. All was delicious and well cooked. This is a local for us and has a welcoming rustic charm, accepts dogs downstairs and caters well offering a good food choice including vegan. We were seated upstairs and our waitress was Olivia P who was bright, warm, helpful and cheery - nothing was too much trouble- even doggie boxes to take home our leftovers for our garden fox. Such a pleasure to receive such a warm welcome from a lovely young lady it made our lunch more pleasurable. Thank you Olivia P.

This was an off the cuff lunchtime visit with friends. There were plenty of spaces in the carpark and the bar and restaurant itself has a nice ambience with a low volume of people talking and enjoying their food. I had garlic mushrooms followed by gammon steak, eggs, chips and garden peas, sorry I'd gotten halfway through then suddenly realised no pics 😂. My companions had soup followed by chicken curry and lasagne with salad. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, they arrived very and very tasty. The waitress was very pleasant, polite and friendly. The only downside was I mentioned in a previous review about the carpet having a dirty track from the bar to the kitchen, it's still there but overall it was an enjoyable visit and we would visit again.

Great Mother's day meal. From start to finish we were teally looked after by Olivia P. Sticky toffee pudding was amazing as well.

Was recommended this place and have to say very pleasantly surprised, normally very critical when it comes to a roast however food was very tasty , fresh plenty to eat ( and we're big eaters when it comes to a roast) and also piping hot , staff welcoming and left us to enjoy our meal , looking forward to our next visit , 😁👍

My family had a really lovely evening here. The pub/restaurant is cosy, comfortable and very inviting. Our server was Sheila for the evening and she was fabulous. Very accommodating and knowledgeable of the menu. Quick service and always pleasant. Oh, and the food is delicious. We will definitely be returning soon.

We booked for family Sunday lunch with our dog Luna We checked in with car numberplate and shown to our table and we’re given menus. We then sat there no one came to table to collect order so we saw a scan code on a flower vase and ordered on line finally it wasn’t easy to do either as you had to scroll slowly. Once we paid there was no where to scan my loyalty card either. My son went up to bar to get drinks and he didn’t realise we had ordered the food so my husband had to go up and explain what happened so this could be altered the girl behind the bar had a couldn’t care attitude when he said it was our first time here and we have been sitting for an hour. The food came after an hour and to be honest it wasn’t bad we had the salt and pepper calamari prawn cocktail and prawn and chorizo. Mains were the trio, pork belly, sea bass, which was delicious. Roast potatoes were obviously frozen and cooked as you couldn’t cut them. And my husband pet hate is carrots not peeled but they were lovely Shame about the service it would have been nice to have been asked when we sat down how to order and they were busy so it would have made a difference if we had been told not assumed. There was a man server that did apologise and ask if we wanted anything but I get the impression other staff didn’t want to work on a Sunday so customer service poor
