A beautiful ye olden pub. Everything I would want in an old English pub. We had a lovey time . The staff were super friendly and helpful

Proper old style pub, love the atmosphere and the wonky building, wooden floor and fireplaces. Friendly and fast service. Burgers were so delicious but super filling so sadly there was no room for dessert this time. The desserts coming out did look amazing though.

The Green Dragon is always excellent and a local favourite for us, the beer garden is lovely too and there is often a couple of interesting beers on. Most recently, our food was not at their usual level - the waiter was apologetic, very quick to rectify and offered us a dessert on the house. Following that, the kitchen made a point to come and introduce themselves to us too.

Lovely old building but the interior is a little tired. The food was good despite both the fish and the soup not being available. The choice of ale was very poor. There were four pumps with only two ales available and after my first pint one of these went off, reducing the selection to one stout. The service was good , although one staff member seemed to be constantly eating whilst serving customers.

Since recent new management this is definitely the best pub in wymondham for food, character and ambience. The staff are the best. The beer is perfect. The prices are great. The twin sister of the white hart (also in wymondham) are our pubs of choice on a sunny afternoon/evening.

Very historic medieval timber pub with cosy rooms, a sunny garden and really tasty steak, chunky chips and onion rings.

Visited today. Didn’t stop. Looked very sad after a visit 3 years ago when it was so pretty. Beer garden looked neglected

Lovely little pub, with a garden, a little hidden gem, it’s well worth a visit, the do a bit of food as well but we didn’t try this time, we will go back again when in the area

Returned a visit here as it used to be my local. Expanded beer garden, and additional functional room now, but still with all the olde world charm. A pint of Encore and a pint of Old Growler enjoyed outside, in a peaceful but buzzing beer garden. Throughly recommended.

The Green Dragon was a lovely experience one worth visiting. Food delicious and big thanks to the mother of the owner for being so delightful when delivering the meals.

Good food, nice pub, good service. Has well and truly turned a corner following a few years of incompetent ownership. Would recommend to those desiring pub grub or a quick drink or two!

We had a brilliant Sunday Roast at The Green Dragon. Everything was cooked to perfection and so tasty. We all had different meats and all praised them. We were also impressed that the gravy was ’real’ and not water with granules. The dessert menu had a good choice and once again we really enjoyed these. Staff were friendly and efficient. All in all a great meal so we will be returning. Thank you to all staff.

Limited menu choices. Only 4 classic options and then told Fish & Chips not available as only one fryer. Risotto was greasy. No hot drinks available as machine not working, apparently no kettle option! Staff friendly and cosy pub but won't be rushing back for food there.

Popped in on a Saturday lunchtime. Friendly staff and good beer. Sat in the beer garden. All dog friendly.

We stopped here on the way to Norwich. I understand that it is under fairly new management; all I can say is that they seem to know what they are doing. We had a wonderful lunch, both choosing the risotto of oyster mushrooms with a fresh pesto and crispy kale - it was delicious. The pudding of pecan sponge with caramel sauce was perfect. Service was friendly and efficient. We wish them every success.

Absolute worst place I’ve eaten the staff where rude the food was rubbish I would not recommend, the owner was the rudest man I’ve ever met very arrogant and comes across slightly aggressive stay clear

We were only visiting for drinks this time. Great atmosphere, lovely warm real fire in bar area.

So, as anybody who is from this area, this beautiful pub has been through the ‘Mill’ over the last couple of years……. Changes of ownership, management etc have never brought it back to its hey day years…… However, it’s recently been taken over, but this time to a team that obviously care! It’s clean! Really clean! The Ale is fantatstic and there is now a really lovely atmosphere once again…… ‘Nova’ the landlords dog is a delight, as is Kieron and Kayleigh who also run The White Hart it seems….. Food is planned to return soon with a plated roast on a Sunday which we all cannot wait for!!! So, if you want to be warmed by real fires, a happy atmosphere and love real ale like myself, then, happily, The Dragon is well and truly back on the list of pubs to frequent in Wymondham!!!

Went for a work xmas party food horrendous quiche was late no desserts like cheese cakes no mince pies no coffee I will not be coming to you again did not spend no money but my company did 🙈🙈

It was closed for refurbishment which was very unfortunate in terms of our plans. No indication on the website that it is closed. Definitely ring to ensure it is open.

Proper old fashioned pub with a great atmosphere run by very friendly and helpful staff serving very tasty food! Well worth the 145 mile journey back to my home county for an excellent meal and catch up with relatives👍

I love this pub and it is my local. I also run events at the Green Dragon, Victoria, the Governor is so kind and helpful. The real ale is to die for! Nelson ,my retriever, is always welcomed with open paws!

We booked a lunch time slot on the 26th September. First Visit, and sadly our last. No parking. The pub looks amazing as an old buliding. Good selection of beers. However our food was very poor. Chips very over cooked. Battered fish tastless. Salad (Rockett) past its best as very limp. Baguette was stale. We did express our disappointment as it just was not very nice. Quickly offered some discount on our bill, which was appreciated. Also people on table next to us, also said their meal was not the best, but did not say anything to the staff. After we left , on visiting some local shops, in conversation, other people we talked to, said how good the food was, so I like to think we just were unlucky that day. A pity as felt a bit let down.

Such a lovely place. Really warm staff and atmosphere. Like stepping back in time. We had a delicious meal and will definitely return when we can.

Very expensive. I had three tiny bowls of tapas. Cost £18-96. Wasn't brill at all.

Very accommodating for me and my family, a group of 20! - we rang up 10 minutes ahead of time and were greeted warmly upon arrival. Service was very fast and attentive, everything arrived correct and on time apart from one or two desserts which arrived a couple minutes after the others however the staff were apologetic and amended the issues we had and everyone left with full bellies and big smiles. Thank you very much Green Dragon team!

Amazing pub built in the 14th century, it's full of charm and the staff are very friendly and happy to adapt an order to dietary requirements. I had roast turkey and the plate was full. The meat was cooked well and there was a great selection of vegetables. Would highly recommend.

A return visit after some years to the Green Dragon, which I understand to have recently re-opened under new ownership. The fascinating building remains one of the most enchanting pubs I've ever visited. For lunch, from a fairly limited menu, I had a good, generous, sausage baguette with very nice chips, eaten in the very pleasant courtyard. Service is friendly and efficient, and the youngish guy who I think was the manager was incredibly enthusiastic about the pub and its possibilities under the new owners. Nearby Wymondham Abbey is wonderful, and the town is very pleasant.

Great Sunday lunch, real good value for money and plenty of food.

Had a lovely dinner. Gone in with low expectations, due to change of management. I have to say we've had a great dinner Friday evening and we definitely tried from sharing starters to mains and children meals, Well done Chef

Look its just what it says on the tin a pub However its one of the oldest pubs in the area & it shows well worth a visit & don't forget to have a drink & or food, a very good selection of beers and spirits ect

We had a lovely Sunday lunch at The Green Dragon. Really liked their roast dinner wrapped in a yorkshire pudding with delicious pork belly. Service was excellent as always and the garden was lovely in the sun. Will be returning soon!

Lovely place. Food and service was good. Had the lunch sandwich of the day, the meat was a bit chewy but still good. Chips & pint were delish. Friendly service. Visiting from Toronto and manager took me on a wee tour of the building providing some historical insight.

New management since our previous visit, but food and beer as good as previously, with prices for food increased, but inline with prices in similar pubs. Charming listed building which is supposed to date back to the 14th century. Huge garden with some under cover seating. On this visit a choir was singing, which wasn't great for us as we wanted to sit and chat, but we managed to find a relatively quiet spot in the marquee.

Previous 5 stars def down to 2 or a generous 3. Lots of work to do on customer service and interaction with us general public on first meeting if today was anything to go by. Sad, because we rated it 5 stars before. Whilst it's not easy dealing with the general public, a better 'front end' is required. Turned out sort of OK - but won't be going back. Disappointed local.

Went last evening with a bunch of friends - food is much better than before (sorry to say as we had some good evenings then) - very friendly staff - obviously trying hard to pull an all favourite up by its boot!

Living 45mins away it was a treat to come to the green dragon. Last time we came we had a fabulous lunch and learned that night that the pub was closin! Gutted. Was pleased to hear new owners had opened it up again so paid a visit. Looked nice and clean, sunny inviting beer garden. Was shocked by the increase of pricing to the menu. Only wanted a light lunch but wasn't given that option until we saw another table get baguettes and chips. It was delivered quick but for some reason food was bought out before the cutlery, so we had to wait for them. Slightly disappointed about the portion size, £10 for baguette and chips. Hard to not compare to the old dragon and for that reason sadly we probably won't come again. However I wish them every success.

Changed ownership and the prices are now astronomical. £16 for Scampi & Chips mind blowing. Girl behind the bar has never poured a pint in her life either

Just been today ( Bank hol Monday) for a bite to eat...was a basic menu so i ordered hand cut dirty fries with slow cooked beef with barbecue sauce.....chips were lovely but needed a magnifying class to see the beef ...which was very chewy.....so basically paid £9 for chips.Husband had the vegetarian pizza which was ok .

Visited the Green Dragon now that it has reopened after closing for some time. They were not doing any food, but no matter as it was a good pint I was after and wasn't disappointed. Looking forward to visiting again when I'm next in Wymondham. Might even grab a bite when they start up food again. I hope all goes well for them as it's an unspoilt pub with good ale and a good atmosphere.

The window on the side of The Green Dragon is said to come from a gallion ship. The pub really has gone to sea with very little atmosphere. Why open a pub that offers so little,it is a shame it once was a truly amazing establishment.

Dog friendly with a decent cup of coffee. Good beer, and beer garden with good service. Haven't had food since this place changed hands but hope I can up this to 5 stars if it's improved on before.

Nice old pub, originally going to have a Sunday roast, but changed my mind as too many badly behaved children for my taste, but a first class pint and will eat next time

We visited a couple of days ago for an evening meal (a group of 5) and all of us really enjoyed the food. New chef seems to have made great improvements to the menu, we'll look forward to coming back soon!

Great pub.. warm welcome. Didn't have food this time as it just a lunchtime drink.. however food has been exceptional in the past... And it certainly smelled good.

Phoned on the off chance for a dog friendly table for two - we were being a bit cheeky as it is Xmas Eve- they found us a table😁 Jules had the Turkey Balti which had a kick and Nige the Lasagne - really lovely food at great prices. Mould Wine weren’t too bad either 😂😂

I have been a few times as they are a standout pub in the area with a great historical atmosphere. I dined here for lunch and had the roasted butternut squash which was a standout 10/10.

Great atmosphere in one of the oldest pubs for miles around. Timber framed, exposed beams and real fire all adds to the character of the place. Nice selection of beers, good food and helpful staff. Recommended.

Me and my wife popped in for a meal and everything from the service to the food was 5*. It's nice to still find businesses offering a good service with so many still using COVID as an excuse for delivering subpar standards.

Had a Sunday roast, very disappointing, meat, Yorkshire's and roast potatoes poor, even charged for a little extra gravy. Staff lovely food awful.

Good food and good selection of drinks

Lovely Tudor half timbered pub situated in an attractive picture postcard area of Wymondham. Some say it is late 14th century others mid 15th century. Does have a dragon in it but my photo turned out naff so don't know if it is green. The food looked very appetising, staff welcoming and helpful plus a good range of beers and lagers.

If you're looking for 'olde worlde' ambiance this is hard to beat. The staff were very helpful with being flexible about my dietary requirements. Great service and a delicious menu.

What a fantastic pub. Beautiful old pub with nooks and crannies. Staff were so welcoming and friendly. Food huge portions and absolutely gorgeous. Will definitely go back. Highly recommended.

Very busy due to the pub having a beer festival and also the nearby Mud Norfolk Railway having a festival also service was quick and two decent pints of Snetterton Scary Tree I will be back

Always loved it here and still a go to place although the menu has lost a little of its flare. Under new management I think and that’s sad as we’ve lost the Green Dragon ale that was a highlight of the spot. We’ll be back but something was lacking this time…

Used to be the best pub in Wymondham. Went last week for the first time in a few years for some food and drinks. Menu has completely fallen off. Every single person I went with was extremely underwhelmed by their food especially considering the price. My halloumi burger was composed of three dry, overcooked, rubbery pieces of halloumi, a single piece of lettuce and stale brioche buns. Nothing else.

A beautiful friendly pub. Great food and drinks. I enjoyed talking with the bartender and listening to people still networking and doing business the way it was done 400 years ago. I will be coming back every time I am in town!

Busy Beer Festival day. Lots of staff on. Beer not quite cold enough.
