The Greedy Piglet in East Northamptonshire

I love going here on my lunch break. I've been working near by greedy piglet for a while and I'm always trying to make time to spend my lunch time there. It's very welcoming and has a nice calm atmosphere. The staff are very, very pleasant and accommodating. The menu is straightforward and they more than happy to serve food thats not even on the menu. The food is always fantastic. And they have NEVER left me wondering how much longer my food is going to take. An absolute, no hesitation to walk in and enjoy. You'll not be disappointed.

been here 2 days in a row, very lovely and welcoming staff member. some cafes have boring decorations, but there’s some lovely bits on the walls, interesting to look at. the food is top tier and the milkshakes are outstanding. nothing but good things to say about this place, nice quiet and calm place to revise before my exams. thank you to the staff, quality service

This spot is one of a kind.the toast was spontaneous.the customer service was unbelievable.i am lost for words.will come back

service was very nice, food was even better, one of a kind food. will definetly be returning. the sausages were cooked to perfection, and as a person who doesnt eat bacon, they offered to replace the bacon with another item. the iced coffee was brilliant. all around great place!

Where do I start? A really friendly welcome and this continued through the entire visit. If I could have given a 3.5 rating then I would have but I'm not sure this visit deserved a 4 star rating. Had an £11 breakfast and whilst the plate was cleaned I was just a little bit disappointed. Really being a bit picky but the sausage didn't appear to be the best quality and the eggs were a little overdone. The bacon looked as though it had been sat on a hot plate and not particularly fresh (lightly burned on the one side) but like I said I had no problem in finishing the entire plateful. The toast was really really good and the large pot of tea was just what was needed. I'm reasonably confident that a future visit (perhaps earlier in the day - not the owners or chefs fault) and my comments would have been better. The cake offerings looked really good and the place was decorated nicely and gave a good ambiance. Would this be my first port of call for a breakfast on a future visit to Ondle - Yes, absolutely.

fantastic cooked breakfast, described on menu as a SMALL breakfast , but very well, proportioned plate of GOOD quality fayre "no cheapo sausages here" nice proper thick cut toast ,decent amount of butter as well ,"no packets here either" great friendly service ,definitely will come back , the vegetarian option also went down well , as did the omelette.. well worth a go ,if you are in the area

Went for a family lunch at the Greedy Piglet.  We've never had a bad lunch here & it's always pretty busy, with today no exception.  A booth became available & we settled in.  Two of us went for a breakfast, one for a ham & cheese sandwich & I went for the burger.  We had milkshakes (always delicious) as well.  We all thoroughly enjoyed it & were very full! The girl serving brought a can of drink for my daughter for free, apologising for a delay.  We hadn't noticed the delay, but it was a busy Saturday lunchtime, so inevitably the kitchen would be strained.   Two diners were far less patient & began to get loud & grumpy before kicking off very loudly at the staff. The poor young girl serving them was soon in tears after the cafe politely refused to refund the full meal, as rudely demanded by the shouting visitors.   They may have had a point. I don't know.  What I do know is they behaved horrendously & showed no remorse for leaving a young girl in bits. Shame on them.  Anyway, they failed to ruin our experience & we will absolutely be back.

The best coffee in Oundle in my opinion (it’s often just not strong enough), a great selection of cakes (coffee cake and scones are my personal fave) , you always get a warm welcome from the friendly team and they’re dog friendly. The prices are very reasonable too. If you head there in the afternoon you can might even get a seat outside in the sun

This cafe is in an amazing old building with what looks like the original flooring. Thousands of pairs of feet have worn down the stone flagstones into grooves showing where folks have used the building for various purposes over the years. If the walls could speak I'm sure they would have a fascinating tale to tell. Now it is a cafe, and a good one too. Nice atmosphere, pleasant staff and interesting decor. The cakes look good, though not outstanding, but my coffee was spot on. I hope to be back.

I went in with my brother for a snack for me and a breakfast for my brother. Brother was given his coffee before his breakfast was made and he asked to take it back to keep it hot til the food came. The waitress said " what am I meant to do with it " and that she would get into trouble ?. I ordered a sausage roll and a steak bake. The sausage roll was dry and hard and it snapped when I bit it. The steak bake was dry and when I opened it I saw two small bits of "meat" inside. I asked the waitress to change it as it was inedible, when she brought a replacement I asked her if she would eat it and she laughed and said "probably not". I asked her to take it back and for a refund, I was told I was not getting a refund and to leave the cafe. That is NOT how to treat customers but I suppose if you employ sub standard staff who give sub standard service and serve sub standard to inedible food then its not surprising that the place was empty on a Saturday mid morning. Food awful, staff rude and inexperienced and place not very clean, would certainly NOT return

Always have friendly staff and the coffee is great. I used to have breakfast here regularly but recently the quality of breakfast has gone down probably down to the cost of ingredients rising. The sausages used to be premium and now the sausages are poor quality and are very salty which is the dominant taste. The bread used to be freshly sliced doorstep bread and is now thin ready sliced. The omelettes also used to have a good reputation and were very filling made in a pan. These have now changed to being made in an omelette maker and are smaller. I won’t have breakfast there again but will happily have a coffee and a cake there.

OUNDLE PUB CRAWL (18-08-23) Food stop. Needed a bite to eat and found this little place, got seated and ordered food, came very quick and hot, nice burger & chips, friendly staff and a clean cafe, with a visit.

We house sit in the area a few times a year and this lovely cafe is great for breakfast and lunch nice variety on the menu or they can adapt to what ever you want. Coffee is lovely but the milkshakes are the best ever. The people at the counter are friendly and very helpful nice to be served by lovely people.

We’ve recently moved into the area and found this little gem of a place on one of our shopping trips. Now we’re hooked. A varied but not over complicated menu, welcoming staff, efficient service and the food is plentiful and nicely presented. To top it off there is a relaxed but cosy atmosphere which just makes the whole experience a very pleasant one.

Visited today and not disappointed… very friendly staff … great you can choose an omelette as they seem to be a hard to come by these days. Great food and great prices along with a good selection of cheeky cakes and amazing looking milkshakes 👍💥

My lady and I have always eaten at the Coffee Tavern nearby. However the last few visits there have lost its charm. A few weeks ago we decided to give this place a go and had a breakfast each….brilliant. The lady who runs the establishment is very down to earth, very friendly and very efficient and staff are polite and on the ball. We went back today for our second visit. All tables were immaculate and very clean. We chose ours and ordered a jacket spud for my lady and an omelette for myself. My lady described her spud as delicious and my omelette was the best I’ve ever eaten…and I’ve had a few I’m 55! When in Oundle we will always eat here from now on….you should try it!

The best milkshake I have ever had. I’m a bit of a milkshake connoisseur having sampled milkshakes from around the world including the USA and I can honestly say that my chocolate orange milkshake was the best ever - 10/10 and lovely people to serve it

Had a lovely breakfast bagel here on a Sunday morning after staying the night in Oundle , definitely recommend , only small so we were lucky to get a table as 6 of us

The Greedy Piglet is a coffee and eatery opposite the church on the main street into Oundle with good wifi and coffee and great (and really genourous) breakfasts which you can eat in or take-away. What really sets this place apart is the exceptional and super friendly service of one of the staff, Rachel, who always sparkles and shines and makes you want to come back over and over again. Rachel you are amazing and we love you!!!

Went here for a milkshake and the lady at the till was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Milkshake was lovely but would return just for the customer service! Highly recommend

Stumbled across this cafe, was shocked at how cheap it was so was a little worried but it was absolutely delicious, clearly local produce used and the food was made fresh and so tasty. I would highly recommend this place. Service was warm and friendly...

Had a lovely breakfast here on Saturday. Brown bread was nutty and scrummy sausages. Well worth a visit

Not a good place to go, they hardly had anything on the menu, bread was stale, they couldn’t even bring the correct meals to the table, 3 different meals had to go back that was not ours, I must admit the milkshakes was so nice....

Second visit to the greedy piglet and it’s still a lovely place to sit relax and enjoy food and drink. The staff are always welcoming and friendly a credit to the management equalled by the excellent quality of food and drink on offer.

This was our first visit to this cafe and it was a great experience. The latte and carrot cake were lovely and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate going again.

What a fantastic find, a really clean, friendly little coffee shop / tea room. My wife and I both had the "SMALL" breakfast which was 2 eggs / 2 bacon / 2 proper sausages (not Richmond's) / beans & 2 thick cut slices off toast...

Amazing that they manage to keep open in lockdown! Had a coffee from there this morning and was the best coffee I’ve had in ages! Would definitely recommend!

Coffee was OK, wide choice of cakes and snacks, pleasant staff, good Covid controls. clean unisex toilets.

Super place with a great atmosphere, staff friendly and accommodating, jacket potato was so tasty. Great menu , I’ve been to a few cafes in this town and this is by far my favourite. Thanks and see you again soon.

Nothing meal like on menu only snack type food. Sent back quiche due to such poor quality. Not good value for money. Would not recommend. Nothing like BEANS cafe in town for choice quality and value.

Really enjoyed popping in here for coffee and a bite to eat. Bacon sandwich was lovely but overshadowed by the pancakes which looked even better. Coffee was really good and seat by window meant you could watch world go by. Friendly staff and quick service...
