Went in there in a rush, realised I didn’t have time to grab my coffee after ordering as I had a bus to catch, they brought it to me at the bus stop a minute down the road! Appreciate the service after I was a complete klutz

Had a lovely afternoon cream tea.celebrating a birthday of one of our friends.there was seven of us in total and the food was very good.because there was 7 people we had the second room to ourselves..not the most cumfy of places, there wasnt chairs but rather strange built in benches and low 'coffee tables'.proper furniture would be better like in the other room or at least some proper cushions. That said,i would go there again because we had a lovely time and the staff and food was really lovely.

Absolutely brilliant! Visit was amazing, food was lovely and fresh and service was excellent and all the staff very very friendly. Not only this but they take allergies genuinely seriously! Shown packets for everything they use (even down to the crisps on the plate!) and the allergy sheets for their home made food. Possibly the best management of allergies I’ve ever seen, separate milk machines for non dairy milk, signs everywhere asking for allergy information and asked when ordering. Cannot recommend highly enough! For people with and without allergies!!

Found this little gem whilst in Higham. Everything was very good the only thing that let it down was the panini needed to be a panini and not a toasted baguette and a little bit more side salad. But other than that a very good experience.

We went for afternoon tea having been given a voucher. We were treated to a lovely afternoon tea. We were unable to finish it all but we were supplied with bags so that we could take some of the cakes home to have later. The scones looked like they were home made and I particularly liked the trifle in a jar which was a nice touch. Nice friendly staff made our e3xperience all the more pleasant. Thank You

How can you rate the atmosphere? It depends who you go with right? I had lunch here with my niece in the snug, lovely warm room for December and had a pre booked afternoon tea with my husband in the main room where the outside door is. There is no changing this or the weather I had delicious food both times, quick service. 1 tiny thing, maybe ask if you want the drinks with the food. I can imagine buddy times your drink is drank or cold waiting for food. I plan to go again soon

We went for lunch and the tea and milkshakes were extremely good, best milkshake I’ve had in a long time. However for the price I thought the food was a bit lacklustre. The paninis was more of baguette with no greens inside was expecting more. But nothing offensive about the place.

We went here for lunch and to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. They do not cater well for allergies at all. If you're vegan/dairy free there is no point visiting here as they do not have anything to offer and if you're gluten free, be prepared to pay £4 for a tiny toastie made with 2 slices of 'Genius' gluten free bread. You can't have a sandwich as the Gluten free bread is frozen so they will only offer a toastie. Apparently the lack of ingredients is 'due to COVID' which I don't find acceptable as ingredients are readily available everywhere else now, so it is a poor excuse. If your gluten sensitivity is severe then AVOID as they toast the GF meal on the same grill as ordinary bread! The lady serving was very rude as well and really made me feel like I was an inconvenience to them.I appreciate this is a small business but I am really deflated and let down by such a poor service in regards to food intolerance/allergies.

We just had a lovely pit stop with my family & dog at The Coffee Barn. We used the takeaway window & sat in the courtyard at the back. Tables were distanced & hand sanitiser was available. Service was friendly & prompt & our milkshakes with cream & a chocolate looked & tasted fabulous - they took care over presentation & to make our visit even more pleasant, they offered my puppy a drink of water without needing to ask! Thank you coffee Barn - we’ll be back from a dog walk next week.

We visited post lockdown as we were missing what we consider to be the best mocha coffee around. We decided to sit inside once we could assess how safe we felt. All the Covid measures that you would expect were in place, there is a one way system, hand santisers on all tables, seating areas all adhere to social distancing, we could see staff sanitizing high touch areas regularly during our visit which was all reassuring to see.Wouldn't hesitate to return for our favourite coffee and maybe a slice of cake next time.

The Coffee Barne has a pleasant interior with stylish but rustic decor and a bright, airy feeling. Windows look out onto Higham Ferrers' charming and historic market square. Service is friendly and efficient. There's a good range of light meals and snacks on the menu as well as an extensive list of hot and cold drinks.I ate a breakfast bagel with sausage, egg and peppery spinach. Busy, friendly with good coffee. Often very busy on a Saturday. The cappuccino is always nice and frothy. Only disappointments ate that Radio is often set to Radio 1 which seems more for the staff than the customers who are nearly all above Radio 1s 16-24 target audience. Radio 2 would be better compromise and malteser tiffin no longer regularly available

Love going to the coffee barne, the staff are friendly, there is a great little play area for kids so it’s a brilliant place to meet up with other parents and get to enjoy a drink in peace whilst keeping the littles busy. The food is about average for a cafe but fairly priced and decent enough. I recently had the afternoon tea for two as a birthday treat and it easily fed 3 adults and a child so is great value for money there and it was really well presented.

I’ve lived in Higham Ferrers for 10 years and unfortunately when Beans changed to Coffee Barne, things just went downhill. Whilst the coffee is still good, the service is incredibly slow - and you’re lucky if you get hello or a smile from some of the staff. Today is our last visit to Cafe Barne. We were charged £3 for an awful sausage sandwich for a child. The sausages were the cheap, frozen kind and they barely filled the two slices of bread. My child wouldn’t touch them. Pancakes charged at £9 taste and look shop bought. At that price I’d expect something homemade. The selection of food is greatly reduced on a Sunday also. I wouldn’t have minded but there was no choice if you’re looking for a healthier option. The menu could do with a revamp, some smoked salmon or poached eggs would be a good addition. There is an area for kids to play which is the only reason why we even consider going here. However, the toys are old and dirty, it could do with some new things. If Bewiched had a play area I’d most likely go there.

Four of us booked to have afternoon tea here today at 3.00pm. We had a warm welcome and a table had been reserved for us. The waitress came and asked for our drink orders. Three people wanted coffee and I wanted tea. I was advised that there was no regular tea as they had run out as had been busy! Really, no tea,, couldn't someone had popped out to get some tea bags? They did have Earl Grey so that sufficed. The afternoon tea was beautifully presented and fresh and was enjoyed by all. There was a pleasant relaxed atmosphere.

Had a lovely meal there with my wife and son. Rob was very welcoming, and even arranged for the chef to whip up a vegetarian wellington for me which wasn't on the menu. Tasted great, and then I was stressed to an extra portion of garlic and herb toasties, which were also great. A jazz band were setting up which we couldn't stay for, but I'm sure it turned into a great evening. We'll definitely visit again. Food was great and staff were very attentive.

What an amazing local village pub. Zoe, the landlady was so attentive and nothing was too much trouble. She made my wife and my visit extremely enjoyable. To top it off England won the football and the atmosphere was absolutely electric. The many large screens meant you could see every moment of the game too. Totally recommend this venue for everyone.

Had a birthday celebration here for 8 and really enjoyed it. Food was lovely, not over priced and service was great. My only negative comment would be that some of the food was served with paper under the food which became soggy and was hard to separate from the wet food. Suggest removing before you start .

New Management, new menu, hygienic & freshly refurbished. The old manky carpet pulled up and replaced with lovely wooden flooring. The bar is brass and shiny never knew it was brass! Tastefully painted and new furniture. Lee the chef knows his ingredients and knows how to cook & present it. Love this pub, the staff and both Lee & Helen the new management. Hope they keep their idea of having no football showing and no children in pub area. This village needed a nice pub where nice folk can go to for a top meal and drink. Joe it stays this way.
