Went to the world for a change of scenery and I was pleasantly surprised at the warm atmosphere and likable people in there.i will definitely go again.

Booked in advance as someone in party had food intolerances. Upon arrival was told no chef and hence no food for the day. so had to go elsewhere. I was hoping to impress my friend with one of Raunds locals. The experience was awkward and disappointing.

Unfortunately very quiet in there staff were chatty and cleaning the bar during the quiet moment!!

Had a meet-up with an old friend on Sunday, first time in the pub. Was made to feel welcome by the barmaid and the atmosphere was good. Food smelt good as well.

As it was Dad & son Tuesday beer night, we thought we'd try this Raunds free house, The World Upside Down again. It has changed a lot since we came in last a couple of years or more ago, probably before the pandemic. Looks like it's been 'modernised' from what we can remember. Mixed feelings about this. Loud music and games machines, big screen TV for the sport and vaping allowed inside the pub. On the other hand the guys behind the bar seem to know their beer. New Northampton brewed Brooklyn beers plus Phipps on and a few standards. They also stock cans of Guinness 0.0 for drivers, which is a plus for me, though not much else in the low alcohol line. There's a kitchen but no evidence of food or menus on this visit. On balance 3-stars this visit. Bit noisy for a quiet Tuesday pint, frankly.

the only thing I can say is the décor was fine. the staff were not welcoming at all I understand that this is a dog friendly pub which is fine how ever I was very disappointed to see dogs in the restaurant area with dogs wondering around under our table. the food was poor over cooked and tasteless bartender had no idea what drinks he was able to offer IE wine ( some training need I think ) Needless to say I will not be going back any time soon.

Nice food but don’t go on a Saturday nite full of teenagers and vaping allowed which was annoying while eating, ok for a drink won’t go back . Shame as we live in Raunds

Lovely pub good atmosphere very clean toilets good, nice interior good food and drink, a lovely fire it was nice and cosy, all in all a lovely pub.

A true gem! I found this place by chance and my god am I glad I did. First time in it looked quiet so I asked if they were serving food, they were so I ordered a pizza, hands down one of the best pizza's I've had and at a price that is beyond reasonable. Took some friends 2 nights later and all 3 of us left very full and very happy. In short, if you want a true pub with great beer, amazing food, friendly staff and a homely atmosphere look no further! Will be visiting every time I'm in Raunds and would very highly recommend to others!

I wish I could of given a 5 star as I normally would have and if it was the WINGS it would of got a 5 star, But for our first and now my last steak 🥩 night I’m gonna have to give it a 2. We had a table booked and the service ie drink order and the food was served pretty quickly there was 4 of us there and two ordered medium rare and 2 ordered medium. Both 20oz steaks that were supposed to come out medium rear actually came out rare to the point half of the 20oz was blue n rare the 2 medium ones come out medium rare. Think in future I’ll stick to the wings as after spending £17.50 for a steak that I didn’t even eat and after leaving I had to visit another takeaway for food. The staff did apologies but that’s all that was really done about it.

Nice food, very tasty - but too busy with regulars, for a quiet meal & eve - & a town fayre happening, kids running about but it was an extraordinary day Maybe better on a normal day

Had a drink out in the garden. There were a few regulars in there who were very friendly. The garden appeared a little shabby and could have done with a hosepipe washdown. The tables were also a bit dirty too.

December 8th was our first visit to this venue and we were not disappointed. We had 2 courses from the Xmas menu priced at £15pp. Plate came piled high with turkey and all the trimmings followed by a delicious sweet. Great staff 10/10 for the chef defo back to give the normal menu a go. Thank you.

I have been a customer at the world for a few years...it has been taken over by new owners. The owners in the day run a lovely, chilled relaxed pub. It has lovely decorated interior and a nice garden . The food is cooked well. At night it is like a different pub, the landlord at night has no control, not that it should be needed, but the customers it has attracted recently...its more like a youth club, with smoke bombs being let off , dancing on tables , with the landlord.,..The clientel has gone down hill, with mostly young people that act about 13 . It is a real shame as the landlords prior to this spent a lot of time building a good reputation, now because of the night shift it is like being in the globe or redlion, just with better surroundings..what a shame ! Raunds needed a pub that was different , no they are all the same. until this is rectified I wont be coming in again .

We usually go for the quiz on a tuesday/Wednesday with James with is usually awesome. However, the night of the euro final was awful. I have never felt so unwelcome by the guy in the check shirt (who I assume is an owner/ manager of some sort), the service was slow (yes I appreciate it was a busy night, but they got our drinks wrong more than twice). All I could probably forgive, however the guy mentioned then questioned us upon leaving about paying the bill. Which we had done previously, instead of checking behind the bar, quite rudely asked us for proof via our banking app. No apology was given after proof of payment. Pretty poor service all round, which is a shame.

OK food and drink. Went during phased reopening (outside). Seating area was cold, minimal heating. Fairly expensive drinks. Very friendly service.

Food was very good and this guy seemed to do everything right, the two chefs knocking up pizzas on show was a nice touch as well, Will be coming back!

Whist visiting friends in Raunds. We called into The World Upside Down Free house. The place was well lit, very clean and warm. The landlord and landlady Steve and Trisha were very welcoming. There are a wide choice of draught beers and larger. The restaurant menu was varied to suit all tastes. They also do a Sunday lunch menu and have their own pizza oven which is fired up regularly. Well worth a visit if in the area.

Lovely friendly pub, great function room at the back with a gorgeous glass roof lantern. Decently priced real ale on tap as well.

Myself my husband and a few friends visited here not long after moving into the area. We had dinner and then stayed until close for drinks. Food was lovely - quick and very good value for money. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Would definitely visit again.

This pub is not closed at 10 on a Thursday far from it! Saturday and Friday s are way after 1oclock in the morning! so don't know who this landlord is trying to kid absolute joke

7 of us enjoyed a brilliant meal, all freshly cooked for us for my elderly mother's birthday, we all enjoyed it immensely!

Eaten here a few times, highly recommended for a family or a couple. The food is exceptional and obviously prepared by someone who loves food.

Nicely refurbished restaurant, good service and fresh meals for 25 of us last night. Meals were very short of vegetables but homemade vegetable soup was delicious.

The meal was ok, nothing special, however the pub itself is nice and the owners pleasant and welcoming.

A family visit got me looking for local pub style restaurant food which we could walk to so everyone could enjoy a drink without the worry of driving. What a find, I can’t believe I hadn’t heard about it before now. The restaurant was lovely, the lady looking after us turned out to be the owner. She was very customer friendly and had us all laughing and relaxed very quickly. The menu is not pages long, which is a relief. It is big enough to offer a range of choices especially when the days “Specials” are taken into account. The ‘lads’ had the Special main - Rack of ribs and BBQ sauce, I managed a small forkful (I’m not a fan of BBQ sauce) but the meat was beautiful so tender. My brother in law says “it was the best rack of ribs I’ve ever had). My sister in law had the steak and ale pie, wow, the meat was delicious, hope they keep this on the new menu as I would love to have more than a taste of this next time. I had the burger (without bun - yes there is always one awkward customer and food wise it’s likely to be me 😊) beautiful, homemade and very tasty 😋 This was a wonderful find, we all thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks, service was excellent we will definitely be back. Recommend booking ahead as the restaurant was fully booked. Final thanks to the chef(s) your food was delicious, the owners very attentive and friendly thanks for a lovely evening.

Great pub, very friendly. It is a bit awkward though how the pub quiz master is my school teacher and it does make me uncomfortable when he speaks to my mother about me. The quizzes are also really hard and we lose most of the time, we would have come second yesterday if my mum had actually listened to my dad's answers he was giving... Ugh women... It is also inaccessible for mobility scooters as there are steps leading up to the front door and if your scooter is not powerful enough, it may not make it up the hill to which the pub is located on. Apart from this (and the tables are sticky btw) it is a wonderful place to go and spend my Tuesday evenings

Arrived at about 3pm as this was the only pub in Raunds to show the six nations on Sunday. Got there too late for food as they sell out and are very busy. Booking is recommended if your after a Sunday lunch! Nicley renovated inside and friendly landlord. After sitting down to watch the match with our drinks (with the family) a chef appeared with a bowl of complimentary roast potatoes for us. Nice touch. I'm not saying you should expect roast potatoes on arrival but as they had some going spare and we had asked about food they didn't have It was nice they thought to give us a little something. If the potatoes are anything to go by - I'll be back for a full meal, booking first of course.

We visited for Sunday lunch and were very impressed. Bear in mind we were 4 adults 4 children 3+ and one baby yet we were still accommodated comfortably. On a Sunday the menu is limited but, if anything this is a great thing. 2 beef 1 pork and 1 veggie option later plus various weird and wonderful permutations of other meals for the kids and we have 9 happy and less hungry people. Bring on the dessert menu various for the adults and ice cream for the kids and we have very happy and suitably full people. All in a great meal and great price. Highly recommended.

First lunch time meal in the refurbished World Upside Down and very good too. A choice of special and evening dinner meals available: traditional fish and chips, pie and vegetables, cannaloni all freshly cooked. Finally Raunds is catching up with other towns for decent places to eat! Friendly service too, recommended.

Visited again yesterday after our last visit in June, Lunch was excellent again, really enjoyed. Only had the 2 courses yesterday as this left us more than full. Great value to.

A friendly place. The decor is light and airy with a big courtyard, lots of seating. A good place for an evening with Friends.
