The Great Wall in North Norfolk

All the takeaways in north Walsham really struggle to be anything better than ok. The chicken from our meal was so dry, the beef is mushy chips overcooked and it was all really quite bland considering. It wasn’t inedible but it really wasn’t good and it was almost £40. We won’t use Great Wall anymore. Chubby panda is very expensive and very oily. Jade garden is pretty decent but the sauces are a bit wierd, the sweet and sour tastes like strawberry and the curry sauce is sweet? You’d be better off getting curry sauce from the north Walsham chip shop (not three cottages) salt and chili chips are amazing though. If u want a good Chinese go to lotus house in Sheringham or may sum in Stalham

Service was friendly and order was processed in reasonable time. Food was very bland, none of the food we ordered had any real flavour and the sweet and sour sauce was terrible. Not one I would hurry back too in all honesty

Fantastic value for money. Delicious food, good portions, friendly service and free prawn crackers. Would recommend highly. Please don't go on holiday again as had to go to the Cubby panda and it was diabolical!

I have lots of delivered meals from the great wall, and I think that they are really nice. The food tastes nice and they are always delicious and are delivered always in good time. Thanks very much.

We:ve now had 3 average/ bad meals in a row from Great Wall. This has always been our preferred takeaway in town. But we stopped ordering on weekends as the wait was too long. However the last 3 orders which have been midweek have taken over 1.5-2 hours to be delivered. If we were told when ordering that the wait would be this long we would have accepted it, or ordered elsewhere. But we've always been told delivery time is about an hour. I'm sure it is freshly made, but when the food eventually does arrive late it's either luke warm or boiling hot and slightly soggy because it's been microwaved. I decided to finally leave a review last night after waiting an hour and a half we called for an update, and were told food was out for delivery, it arrived 35 minutes later and we only live 5 minutes away! So unfortunately we won't be returning for a while until this improves.

Meals here are excellent and service is good will be having take away from here a lot more

All round great experience we stopping at local caravan site, could have had delivery but only 5 minutes up the road so decided to go pick it up. Plenty of food for just over £20 , food well prepared, was ready when I entered the shop. All food very tasty and fresh cooked, the staff very friendly highly recommended if you are in the area .

Excellent food and good value for money. We were on holiday in Knapton and found them on google...mixed reviews from other people but we were not disappointed....delivery bang on time as requested by a very polite delivery lady. Also the lady who answered the phone and took our order was very polite and helpfull.

I'm pretty skeptical about getting take aways always have been but I can honestly say that these so far have never let me down always trusted this place always get what I ask for accurate order every time usually always perfect quality nice food I go hear quite a lot nice service thanku

Dreadful duck with pancakes. Burned to almost a cinder.

Yet to have a bad takeaway from here. Reasonably priced and mostly cooked fresh. Highly recommend the "pancake rolls (2)" which are made to order.

Great fresh chinese food! Really good vegetarian selection, customer service is great too! even gave us complimentary fortune cookies and prawn crackers! definitely a go to for good chinese food in north norfolk! One of the best chinese takeaways i’ve been to, highly recommend if you want fresh, yummy chinese food!

Lovely food and reasonable prices

Food is usually lovely, though occasionally when we get it and it doesn't have such strong flavours. Delivery times are usually very long, collection is much quicker if you can get there.

Food was fresh and hot. Unfortunately it was a 50 minute wait for it to be ready to collect, and then had to wait another 20 minutes in the shop for it to be ready. Disappointing.

Sweet & sour chicken, balls it stated on menu but we're in fact large lumps and majority were stuck together. Special fried rice was lacking in meat content and had just the one sole prawn!! Quantity was generous in both dishes Flavour was good and food hot, but just 3 stars as only average.

One of the best Chinese meals I've ever had! The food was hot, delicious and plentiful. The duck pancakes were amazing, it was all clearly freshly cooked and the pork balls are the best I've ever tasted. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

30 minuits wait on Christmas eve thats not bad .ready for pick up when they said ,food was hot and the salt and pepper chip ar the best around

One of 3 Chinese takeaways in North Walsham but in my opinion the best, they do offer delivery service but I've never used it, only real criticism would be they are cash only

Nice flavours but arrived cold. If you spent £30+ in a restaurant for a meal and it arrived cold you would send it back. Please make sure the meals go out for delivery piping hot.

Ordered by phone and was ready for collection in 20 minutes. Food was hot and tasted delicious, bonus was that there was loads of it with a few freebies thrown in. Had enough leftovers for lunch the next day! Would definitely get a takeaway from here again if I am ever back in the area.

Probably the best Chinese takeaway we have ever had. Would have been 5 * but the delivery time let it down, taking 2 hrs 10 mins to arrive from the time of our delivery.

Very Good Chinese, the Prawn Toast is amazing

Lives up to it's reputation as one of the seven wonders of the world! Great food, friendly service.

Some friends moved to North Walsham and we visited them this week. The Great Wall had been highly recommended by some local people and did not disappoint. We were warned to order quite early as would be a while for delivery so were not expwcting it to be quick. However food arrived in less time than quoted. Food quality and amount were excellent. The amount of duck that came exceeeded normal portion sizes. Had a selection of dishes and two rices. Couldn't fault any of them. A just try if you haven't already.

Whilst in holiday in the area I rang to see how long a wait it was and I was told 30 mins. Fortunately I was only 30 mins away so placed my small order. I arrived 30 mins later but was given a number. 30 minutes later I got my meal!! Obviously they only started cooking mine when I arrived. I see many others have commented about delays in getting the order. I had Salt and pepper chips (very disappointing) normally you get loads of onion and Peppers. Fortunately the Tofu in Szechuan sauce was great with loads of Tofu so they redeemed themselves slightly

4 years and never had a bad meal from here. Delivery staff are friendly too

Ive been ordering from these guys for many years and ive never had a bad moment! They are great and organised.

If I could give a lower rating, then I would. We were told our food would be delivered in 2 hours (understanding as it was New Year’s Eve) it’s was 4 hours 20minutes before it came. I called after 2 hours 30 minutes to check where our food was and was told it would be 30 minutes maximum and I was understanding. I called at 3 hours 20 minutes to see where our food was again, and when I asked what was going on I was told the same thing; 30 minutes maximum. And when I pointed out that’s what he had said before he told me “fine have it half price”, and hung up on me. When the food finally turned up, the delivery driver had no clue of this event/ discount, and when they called the shop to check, the young lad then denied he had ever said it. The delivery driver was understanding and still offered us the half price. The food was delicious, just beware of the customer services.

I had rice and a chicken curry. It was really good, didn't taste oily and cheap, good flavours, well priced and the guy taking the orders was very friendly.

All though can be a lengthy wait on peak times (due to popularity) food is pretty decent and reasonably priced friendly delivery staff

Has a great set menu egg fried rice beef curry chicken balls and sauce all for £9 rest of the menu is pretty cheap they can be a weight but it's worth it

Been going here since it opened and never been disappointed (and I'm super fussy!) Hubby is a well travelled Chinese take away connoisseur and loves it too. Dishes always tailored to our needs. Hot, fast and plentiful. Highly recommend!

food tastes very un-fresh and frozen

The staff are friendly and courteous. They always know exactly how we like our food prepared. They have a wide and varied menu, with meal deals. And can change some of the dishes and ingredients in a dish to suit your individual requirements. In short, my wife and I love it there.
