The Grasshopper Place in Manchester

The worst of the scammers called African restaurant I’ve seen so far all I did was ask a friend to pick up pounded yam and vegetable stew only to to open it up and it was bones literally bones on the vegetable stew disguised as meat the stew was so spicy what a waste of 15 pound

How can 4 of my friends be given a menu that says £10 for 3 pieces of turkey and after I and my friends finished eating the turkey,we where told that the turkey is £15. When we asked they said it was an old menu,Mine while they were the once that gave us the same menu They waited for us to finish eating before they released its an old menu.And they lack good customer service.i will never go back there even in my dreams.

I went there with three of my friends, we order 4 plates of turkey with was written 10pounds on the Menu, we were served three pieces of turkey each, and when they bill came its was over 20 pounds over with tax of 11pounds when we asked why our bill was different, we were told that the menu needed updating as the amounts written were wrong and so we had to pay 15 pounds for a plate of turkey we order for 10pounds and 11 pounds for tax. Lessons learned

My God...TERRIBLE is just an understatement. For God's sake & obviously, the UK Food Standard Agency is not doing their Job properly else, how can this TERRIBLE restaurant located close to MAN CITY ACADEMY be allowed to operate in the first place in the UK. I was served an old deteriorated [NOT FRESHLY PREPARED] poorly reheated [Microwaved] CROAKER Grilled FISH with plantain for £25. I was Served a plate of an old deteriorated [NOT properly Freezer stored] tasteless & poor quality Beef pepper soup for £15 in addition to an unnecessary expensive bottles of Beer to I & my partner. We only went to this place for the very first time on the recommendation of my colleague which is certainly going to be my last visit ever considering that I & my Heartrob went Happy & returned so Sad. What a terrible waste of Money Unfortunately I complained to the manager before paying for the POISON I was served in the name of Grilled Fish & Pepper soup with some bottles of beer but obviously the Manager refused to acknowledge their rubbish services. I'm urging the UK FOOD STANDARDS AGENCY to please checkmate this TERRIBLE restaurant. Gosh......

The food is terrible. Like the ayamase stew portions are tiny, it’s old rice and old plantain not freshly made on a day like Friday. the suya was old like it had been in the freezer for ages and microwaved. Hard and not tender at all. The food is terrible quality to what it was before

Trust me if there was a way to give ZERO STAR or MINUS 100 stars I’d gladly give Very wacky place Unorganized and the food is terrible The yam and fish was 2/10 The nkowbi was 0/10 The asun was rubbish too Service was terrible The food was microwaved and wasn’t even microwaved properly… why warm/reheat food if you won’t do it properly Overall 2/10 Una no try at all

The food here is amazing and the service is acc quite nice they make you feel welcomed and all sorts but in regards to how long you will be waiting for your food is really outrageous lol. Id recommended to call 45. to an 1hour before arriving to collect your food

Really enjoyed ourselves. The food was superb and tasted like the one back home. This home away from home. I have added this place to where I will go to have home meal regularly.

An African chilled vibe experience, a good place to chill and have fun.

First time visit last night, if you have missed the Friday night life of Lagos then you should probably visit. The outdoor setting (with heating) is just good vibes. The owner was also very friendly and warm, reminds of how you meet people at bars in Lagos and connect. only suggestion is food portions could have been plentier (maybe i am just being greedy though!) but yeah definitely recommending to friends

I visited this restaurant about a week ago and the food was delicious. I ordered plantains and prawns sounds odd but it was quite nice. The plantains were perfectly fried and the prawns were nice and saucy. The place is lit up by bright lights and music which creates a unique atmosphere. If you would like to try some good Nigerian food I would recommend this restaurant.

Very bad customer service When we got there they stood behind the bar chatting did not even bother to ask us what we want it we ended up Asking them a table of 2 They just said to us to go in and find anywhere to sit They did not give us any options to choose from the menu we ordered the fish and we want it with plantain but they gave us fried yam instead with no salad and Before we got there we rang them more than 10times no answer The drinks was very warm

4 star for venue, access, location and customer service (served with a smile)... However the food was 2.5star. The bitter leaf soup was awful. The soup was eatery and did not taste like butter leaf. I ate the majority simply because I had been travelling all day, it was 9pm and I had no alternative.

I, SISTER AND FATHER WERE SHOWN TO OUR SEATING AREA UPON ENTRY INTO THE RESTUARANT. THE OUTSIDE SITTING AREA RECIEVED ALOT OF ATTENTION DUE TO THE SUMMER WEATHERING AN THE LOCAL SHUTTLE METRORAIL TRAM ONLY A FEW METRES FROM THE SEATING AREA AMONGST OTHERS TO ENJOY THE METROPOLITANITY OF THE CITY OF MANCHESTER. THE WAITING TIME LASTED FROM JUST OVER 30 MINUTES FROM FATHER AND SISTER TO RECEIVED A LARGE DISH PLATTER OF FRESH SEAFOOD FISH WITH VEGETABLE TO SHARE TO CONSEMATE THE BIRTH OF FATHER JUST OVER 60 YEARS AGO. THEY WOULD HONESTLY CONMEEND THE COOKING STAFF FOR THE SIMPLICITY AND TASTE OF THE DISH. I, ON THE OTHER HAND WAS GIVEN THE MOMENT TO BE WITHIN THE GROWING R'N'B MUSIC, ATMOSPHERE WITH GOOD QUALITY HI FI SPEAKER SYSTEM AND AN OBSERVABLE MUSIC TECHNICIAN DESK. AS A NON PAY CUSTOMER I WAS ALSO GIVEN A GOOD LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. The food portion was okay but the soup I ordered was not fresh (Okra). Some of the items on the menu were unavailable. However, staff was really polite, pleasant and helpful. I'm keeping one star because the guy who served us was very keen to clear our table. (more like chasing us). Overall, I would recommend..

Where do I start from. There is only 2 servers for a garden birthday party that was booked in advance. The servers are rude and ask me to pay for the food i didn't eat and over charging for the drink. The other people I came with are complaining the food they received are cold. Some people did not even receive their food and had to leave angrily. They served food with no cutlery or serviettes and they are saying we should have asasked. The pepper soup tastes like water with hard yam and 2 piece of middle fish charged for £10, the croacker grilled fish was so tiny for a £20 and it was even cold, the orange juice I received was more like water mix with lime, the restaurant has no semo and didn't tell us until 30 mins later after we complained that we didn't receive the food. Someone said to me in the restaurant, let's support black owned business. I want to support black owned business but I kept getting disappointed. I like the indoor coziness and the garden with heater vibe so I am hoping by the time I visit this restaurant again there will be changes because honestly I was very disappointed tonight. Will update my review when next I visit...

Great place to hang out with friends. Atmosphere is lovely.

The food portions are good.But quality is terrible. Their egusi and assorted meat only came with Liver and tripe. The liver was very dry and hard so I threw it away.The soup had bits of sand in it, like the vegetables hadn't been washed properly.Otherwise, the portions are good hence the 1 star.
