Fat Hippo Manchester Gn in Manchester

I ordered the Fat Hippo burger and the slaw. The burger is significantly smaller than what the picture presents. In fact it's barely larger than a McDonald's burger. The slaw was heavily salted and barely edible. However, not only is the food overpriced and poor value for money. The delivery driver didn't even come to my door! He waited at the street, and wouldn't budge.

Visited yesterday, Lane 7 is an impressive location, and sets the atmosphere. The food from Fat Hippo was cooked fresh and was ready in a timely manner. The burger bun didn’t taste fresh and the overall quality of the meal was not as good as previous visits to Fat Hippo in the city of York. Although a limited menu still plenty of choice and the onion rings are amazing. Even though my I have scored 3/5 i wouldn’t be put off from visiting again.

Absolutely dreadful. I work in the industry, so have never reviewed before and use TA only for recommendations. So this is the 1st time I’ve felt the need to review someone. I’ve literally just ordered a Just Eat to my hotel. A Semi Parmed chicken burger with dirty fries and a Diet Coke £19 plus delivery and tip. £24 So that’s top heavy anyway, but the social media got me hooked as I love a dirty burger and working the week in Manchester I thought I’d have a night in and order from here. The food arrived on time, but the burger was cremated, the chicken grey in colour and impossible to chew. The loaded fries were a tiny little cup of rock hard double dipped skinny fries. The Coke came warm as a glass bottle with no way of opening it? Being in a hotel I’ve managed to find someone on reception to open it for me. I’ve not been able to eat the burger and had a few chips. By far the worst burger and paid a heafty sum for it.

I don't think it could be helped because of distance but the food was warm, not hot so the cheese balls were solid. Absolutely delicious food though. Pleasent delivery guy but he wouldn't come to the door so I had to walk out to the pavement.

Tasty and enjoyable burger. Generous portion of tater tots. Ordered delivered on time. Delivery driver very pleasant

These guys suck. Over 1hour20 on Uber and still no progress. Luckily Uber finally cancelled.

Used to be decent, but having had fathippo tonight we won’t be going again. Chicken was grey and the food was evidently microwaved and tasteless.

I’m a little shocked by the reviews on here! We never eat in, but our number one choice when ordering take away burgers in Manchester. Always, juicy and packed full of flavour. The Born Slippy burger is excellent…and those dirty fries are delicious

If I could give minus stars... Seriously! The burgers were disgusting and they have the audacity to sell it same price as five guys. Even at home you will do better. Don't let the pictures fool you! What a joke plus 2 hours to get delivered!!! Never again.

Incredible food!! The burgers and chicken wings were the best we have had in a long time. The location was a little questionable - it is inside a bowling complex… The music was loud and the atmosphere a bit intrusive, but it was worth it for the food overall (although maybe we’ll get a takeaway next time!)

overall disgusting. food was greasy beyond belief. tater tots were inedible. only good thing was the chips, after they’d been in the air fryer for 5 mins because everything arrived cold. cans of drink were warm. it’s ran inside a bowling alley, i wish i took the name more literally.

We had items missing from our order. There were no napkins and we had bottles of soda delivered, but no way to open them

It was okay, but a small burger and small fries for £15 is a bit expensive. I've had much better for the same price from elsewhere.

Third time ordering from here now and always amazing food! Quickly becoming one of my favourite places to order from!

Really shocked and disappointed. I had ordered Semi Burger with a Super Fries Me. I just couldn’t eat it. The Super Fries Me was so salty that I had to throw it away. The burger was not cooked throughly. The chicken was not cooked properly. I haven’t tried any other dishes so far so I can’t say that Fat Hippos is really bad to be honest. The dish I had ordered was not good. May be I need to try others and confirm.

Fantastic food very tasty and delivered 20 minutes early

Ordered on Uber eats at 6:30pm, 8:10pm and the app still says “preparing”. I’ve tried calling 3 times but the number on here and the website is just for Lane 7, and the phone line is closed on Sunday evenings. Complete waste of time and really poor service. You need to sort out your own phone number if you’re doing deliveries. Or surely you can cancel orders on your end when it’s taken over 1.5 hours?

Don't go here! Tried Fat Hippo for the first time. Never again. Food arrived cold. Wrong sauces provided. Sauces provided not great. Do not go here if you're vegan/vegetarian! go to Herbivorous instead or wholesome junkies! Burgers were bland, the seitan patty tasted processed and dry. Fries were super dry. Tater tots only saving grace. Most of the food went in the bin!

place order at 9 o clock evening, now is almost 11 still waiting for order to be delivered, shop is closed, guessing i’m getting nothing

Ordered through just eat. After 90 mins no progress. Impossible to contact anybody for an update. Fat Hippo don’t even answer the phone. Avoid!!!

Food was amazing as always! And there were no problems with the driver he was very friendly and on time.

The burger was okay. Located within the bowling alley. Not much seating, and when we did eventually find a seat we were asked to move due to a 'booking'. Very noisy. And the second table was located right next to the table tennis, so we had balls coming all around us unfortunately.

If you have an allergy basically give up, place couldn't care less

The beef burger was cold, and extremely dry. The brioche bun was hard, and over all not a lot of taste. The canned drinks were warm, and the cheese dip I ordered was missing

First time being at fat hippo and unfortunately it was a let down. The food as a whole was standard and not crazy flavour full, sad to say but I’ve had better quality burgers for half the price of my meal. Although I will say the staff are 10/10! friendly, out going and willing to go the extra mile. Great team, but food needs improvement

food was absolutely rubbish bruv, we spent half an hour trying to find it and I wish we never did. in disbelief that I paid for this with my own flipping money. don’t come here guys😒

this ting is dead. deader than dead. think of the deadest thing you’ve ever had and multiply that by 2 million. guys please let me just beg you now - do not come here it’s for your own good. even if this is the last food on earth you should eat dirt instead it’ll taste better.

Absolutely shocking, May as well have ordered from maccies. Buger was as bare as it gets, sort your staff out.

Got dirty fries and American (Beef) burger. Dirty fries were good, the sauce on it is delicious. The American Beef burger was okay, the bun was nice but couldn’t really taste much even with the Jalapeños

Great place to go for some good burgers and chips, While you enjoy some bowling or pool. Really friendly staff. And great atmosphere.

In the games arcade, many options of nibbles and food, even on Sunday kitchen was open until 11 pm

I haven't visited the actual restaurant but whenever we order from them on Deliveroo, there is an item missing. Not just the sides, one time they completely forgot one of the burgers.

Ordered 2x dirty hand cuts and received plain fries. Ordered the born sloppy and received a plain double patty with 1 bacon strip and mushrooms, all other toppings missing. Burger overall was below average, nothing at all like the pictures and kind of dry. Quite disappointed, I ate half then put it in the bin. The chicken was very nice.

Great venue, really good spot to have a giggle in. Loads to chose from to do, darts, bowling, beer pong, pool, drinking. Live DJ also which was good! Fat Hippo has a great menu and food was lovely.

The burgers from Fat hippo are spot on and I highly recommend the food. unfortunately the staff at lane 7 are a bit disappointing but is definitely worth the trip for food

Had to ask around on what to do as it's not very clear to begin with, it was even difficult to find the place to be honest! Order with reception and take a buzzer to your table so you can sit wherever which is nice. Food was absolute 5 star, absolutely delicious (Wild Bill and Swiss Tony w/ dirty fries) only a 4 star review as it was a bit annoying to have to ask what to do every step of the way as the wait staff are a bit inattentive. Now I know what to do though, absolutely would come back for a game of pool/bowling with food for sure

Ordered from deliveroo and the burgers were phenomenal. My partner is coeliac and said that that was possibly one of the best gluten-free burgers they had ever had. The sides were delicious too.

I found the buzzer that goes off when to collect your food a good idea and it is nice you can sit wherever you were having drinks previously rather than a specific crammed eating area. The food was decent and a good portion size, as well as being made pretty quickly too. The ambience and music were great, and was cool to be able to watch others playing beer pong and darts from almost anywhere. The bar was severely understaffed for a Saturday afternoon though, and the Cocktails were a bit light on alcohol too.

The restaurant itself is a bit of a dump. The staff are all over the place and didn’t really seem to care we were there. No proper dining area anymore and you can order wherever you can sit. When I had a few questions about the menu the person behind the bar (there is no waiting staff) told me to go speak with reception…. Once food was ordered (back at the bar) I was handed an alert and told once it buzzed to go to the ‘food window’ which was literally the main window into the kitchen to collect my food. The chicken burgers themselves were okay, the fries were average and the tater tots were not worth the money. Do yourself a favour and go next door to Almost Famous and get the real deal.

Sadly would not return! Bar staff were shocking, tried to order several drinks but the girl behind the bar said they weren’t in stock in a very rude tone, then turned her back on me and was talking to another member of staff. Bar staff ignoring loads of customers while standing round talking. Tried to order beef burgers, was then told no beef so ordered chicken burgers instead which took nearly 50 minutes. We was only brought them because we asked where they were. Burgers then come out at different times, our dips hadn’t arrived so the waiter went to get them for us - to then never return. So I went to the kitchen myself to get them. Food was lukewarm by the time I’d got the dips. Not much above par on a KFC to be honest. Will never return

We only wanted a fat hippo after hearing good stuff about it, we had to book an activity to be able to book for food, waited till 10 cause that was the only available time. Then we played the bowling just cause we had to. We finally finished the bowling, absolutely starving then when we went to order the food they said the kitchen closed at ten. Very bad experience, Was offered another game of bowling that we would have to take there and then but it was already so late on a weekday, we just wanted to eat. Will not return.
