The Grapes Beefeater in Hillingdon

AVOID - we stayed in the Premier Inn next door and hadn't realised that the Grapes was no longer a Beefeater. The decor is still Beefeater themed but upon closer inspection it was clearer that the Premier Inn were in charge. By the time we saw the menu we couldn't be bothered to find an alternative - alternative was certainly a good description for the male waiter who behaved very strangely. We were the only customers and food (barely edible) arrived 40 minutes later and cold. Our complaints (also incomplete but charged) were ignored. Something we never do but will be putting in a written complaint.

Jade the waitress was such a breath of fresh air. She was super efficient, clear and very welcoming. Nothing was a problem, and she was so friendly and helpful.

I’m staying next door so spent that past two nights having dinner. The highlight of my dinner was being served by Jade. The restaurant was busy but jade made everyone feel welcome. She always had a smile and we had a few laughs. Thanks Jade

We met a friend who was staying next door and attending a course locally. We just wanted to catch up and get some food locally and were very pleasantly surprised by the Beefeater at The Grapes and the delightful service we received from Jade and Alan. They were up against it as the restaurant was busy but they stayed cheerful, friendly and helpful throughout our visit. In this day and age when hospitality is crying out for good people to be front of house they could do worse than see the example of Jade and Alan who kept cool under pressure and were apolgetic for delays in service due to high demand. The food was simple fare but well cooked and nicely presented. The team coped admirably.

English breakfast wasn't cooked properly 😒. I won't go there again.

we went to the Beefeater for a Sunday roast dinner and were told it was finished , but there was nothing noted about a time frame. The waitress did her best but the food was mediocre at best

Good food, good offers, professional service

1 times slab of meat looking more generous than a portion of recently mashed roadkill, tasting better than freshly used bathwater. 2 times portions of sweetcorn, ribbed, for extra pleasure and extra yellow, which is super helpful if you photo your excrements. 1 times serving of manky dressing; oh well, it's good for you and your unpredictable bowel movements. 1 times extremely generous addition of skinny chips which were acquainted by a small saucer of volcanic lava dipping sauce, perfect for all you aresenists out there. Served by the wonderful Jade. Highly recommended.

Pleasant bar staff very friendly. Pub shut too early.

Nice place when you're in the place, service with a great smile and plenty of help if needed. Pity the table behind couldn't stop talking, my 2yr old granddaughter has better table manners and can eat with her mouth closed and not talk with a mouth full of food.

Don't know about food as I never ate. Sat outside as pub fall of not very nice people.outside know better begggers asking for money cigarettes or can I use your phone as my battery is dead. Worse place I have been to. But maybe not the pubs fought just the state of hayes

Had a lovely evening at The Grapes Beefeater Uxbridge Road on 7 December 2023 with friends I hadn't been here for over a year. We were there for hours but not rushed by staff (Mags, Jade & Alan) who were all polite, helpful & friendly. We each ordered different things from the Set Menu which was not only great value for money and thoroughly enjoyable, but the portion sizes were good and nicely presented - so compliments to the chef! All in all it was a wonderful experience and will definitely return again soon. Julie, Northolt

Great restaurant with reasonable prices. Eva was our waitress and she served us with a smile. They offer a great breakfast menu which we will be trying soon. 👍

Not my Favourite Beefeater but since they closed The Orchard Ruislip its the only local option now. So we took a chance and went for a meal. Pleasantly surprised we were served by Louise and the Chef was Aaron the service was good and the food was most very acceptable. In recent times its noticeable that as the meals got smaller the bills got larger, today we were both full and couldn't eat a sweet we will certainly give the Grapes another visit soon

Was more than 20 of us for a birthday meal and drinks on fri night. Server Louise was friendly, attentive and generally a great server. Especially more so the fact she was serving 20+ of us by herself. Louise and the team got all of our order spot on. The food and drink all came out correct, in a timely manner, was hot taste good. Was a nice casual relaxed atmosphere, didn’t feel rushed. Would definitely go back and recommend . Thanks

Jade and the team were fantastic, really attentive to our needs and took care of my food personally as I have allergies.

We always stay at the Premier Inn and use Beefeater for our evening meals and breakfast when travelling to and from Heathrow. Normally the service and food are excellent but on Sunday 21st April, I was served a lamb dinner that was 1 minute short of being cremated. The chef should never have sent out the plate with lamb in this condition, it was completely inedible. The excuse given was that it was the last of the lamb. How is this an excuse? The waitress was wonderful. She tried to take the blame for the chef and only charged me for the vegetables. On reflection, I should not have been charged anything at all considering the dinner was ruined. Comments please.

Great place to eat. Service is always good here. The staff deserve a pay rise! We come here every month and always enjoy our visits.

Service was great, very nice and friendly waitresses. Food was extremely poor, barely cooked potatoes dippers with a cheap rock hard cold melted cheese on it. Fatty bland ribs with a horrible overly sweet bbq sauce. The whole place was dark, dingy and grubby. Not very pleasant to experience and melt of burnt fat. Will definitely not be returning.

Although I didnt enjoy the starter - stuffed mushrooms the steak & chips was really nice cooked well and very tasty. Finished off with a Cadbury cream egg dessert. Good service. And an enjoyable lunch. Not many customers/atmosphere at the time as it was an early lunch.

First time visiting ‘The Grapes’ beefeater in Uxbridge. Alan, Jade and the team were amazing….. Brilliant food, very clean , good ambience and above all excellent customer service…. Would definitely come back again…. Wishing them all success….

Went on mother's day and was extremely busy. Staff did the best they could but there was a long wait for food. Steaks were OK.

Our local, the staff are great and very friendly, they deal with any issues that might arise very quickly the food is always good.

Went as a delayed Mother's Day treat. Our server was Jade, assisted by Alan and Mags. Food was great (large portions too!) although it took a little while to arrive (but not too bad). Service was very good and polite. Would come back again.

Went to the Beefeater for mothers day yesterday, was so busy / chaos, table booked for 2:45 pm we waited over 30 minutes for our table, then waited for some time for our drinks, and when we were ready to order our food of the mother's day menu, a staff member told us that most of the food on the mother's day menu was not available and we could not / really mix and match the food that was still available on the normal menu, then we found out they only had 3 chefs, not enough staff, then we got told the screen in the kitchen went blank so the chefs had no idea what they were cooking for customers so people were leaving, getting really annoyed so we decided to leave and told one of the staff members that we were not going to pay for our drinks, on what was happening, the whole thing was a disaster, we been waiting nearly 3 hours there, this has never happened before when we have come here for mothers day, customer service was not very good, don't think we'll be coming back here again after what happened.😡

The waiters are amazing. MAGS was amazing, had her last year absolutely lovely… Unfortunately the timings were absolutely awful, food came out an hour later, I did see the cooks on their phone, my steak was warm alongside the fries. Very annoying after a long days at work and you want convince of food being cooked for you but would’ve been quicker for me to pop to Sainsbury’s across the road and cook it myself! Other than that waiting staff are amazing

Came here for Mother’s Day, the staff were lovely and helpful despite it clearly being busy, but they all handled it very well. We were served by Mags who was super lovely and kept checking up on us. We had steaks which were cooked perfectly and we had a great time.

Had lunch there today got 2 double burgers and a cheese burger meal and 3 small cokes not gonna lie the food come out looking like my 14 year old son had cooked and prepared it the portions was tiny and so basic I definitely cook better burgers at home was so disappointed and they even charged me the same price for the basic cheese burger meal as the double burger meal ..I wish I’d have gone to harvester down the road . Never again 👎🏾

Dinner was spot on and I didn't have to wait long to be serve. Breakfast had a lot of choice. I had the full breakfast and could choose what exatly I wantied. I want to say thanks Louise for a good service.

Brilliant service by Louise, great lunch cooked to perfection by the chef. Restaurant was clean and tidy Thank you it was most appreciated.

Jade was our server today. She is very friendly, helpful and has a lovely sense of humour. The food was excellent. We started with breaded mushrooms and bbq sauce. Our mains were sirloin steak, ribs and vegetable skewers. All the food was nice and hot. We weren't rushed, great relaxed atmosphere.

Really lovely pub. Beautiful space, super spacious and on a quiet night great place to chill out and meet people. Staff are cool and friendly. Food portions are generous, you will be fed well for decent prices. Can't wait to go back again.

Always come here with family and friends and the staff are great and welcoming, each staff are friendly and helpful, we had jade for the lunch time when I went with friends and she is so brilliant and lovely, always smiling and she loves the job she does, she always makes you smile and cheers you up. I would definitely recommend going there for lunch or dinner, even the breakfast is yummy also. The prices are very great and Reasonable.

Pre booked and Came here with a couple of friends and was greeted at the door and seated straight away. The starters was out quickly and was really nice followed by mains team really friendly and service was great

Went there for a English breakfast with a guest. The breakfast selection was great with hot food as well as continental breakfast. They has different options of yogurt. They also had a good selection of hot drinks. It is a big restaurant so was very quite. So good to talk whike.hacing breakfast. They also have free parking but do not forget to register.

We went to celebrate the birthday of a friend. Very well looked after by the staff, especially Louise, who made our visit a delight.

Prices way to high £16 for a burger other than that servers were nice food was ok the Potatoes dippers had some black thing in them tho and were really really cheesy and a equal amount of bacon no peppercorn sauce available steak was undercooked came for birthday meal the food was ok

Popped in here with some family members. Nice cosy atmosphere. Lots of parking. Football was on two screens. Bar staff attentive. Would visit again when over that way.

Went there for breakfast! Hot food was good! Not the best but good, nothing to complain about! Croissants and pancakes were a bit dry! Service: lady was very sweet and attentive but when we went there the front door was closed and we have to use the back entrance for breakfast apparently.

Food wasn't great - burger burnt and chips noticeably something that you could probably pick up yourself from sainsburys across the road. A bit disappointing overall

Christmas 2023, my family and I went here yesterday and left so disappointed with our Xmas meal, all our veg was cold on our mains, some plates had missing veg like stuffing and peas, the starters were severed with one tiniest piece of bread, the gravy was just oil. We left knowing we won't be back.

Great breakfast and fantastic service

Most staff members at the restaurant were notably friendly and pleasant, which greatly enhanced our experience. However, there was an issue with steak orders: my parents received overcooked steaks twice, despite requesting medium. It was only on the third attempt that their steaks were prepared correctly. In contrast, my younger brother's medium-rare fillet was satisfactory from the start. The menu offers good value, particularly the steak chips and the chargrilled half chicken with mango and habanero sauce, which I recommend, if you're here. The restaurant's response to the overcooked steaks was commendable. They rectified the situation by not charging for the steaks and even offered a complimentary dessert for my younger brother. Additionally, they accommodated special dietary needs, including sourcing yogurt for my other brother who has Down syndrome and managing allergies within our group. Despite these positives, the service was slow, particularly noticeable as the restaurant wasn't busy. Delays in bringing water to the table and serving meals (excluding my parents' steaks) were significant. In summary, the experience was decent. While the staff's attitude and problem-solving were impressive, there's room for improvement in consistency of food preparation and service efficiency.

Nice central location with easy access to public transport, in case if needed. The atmosphere was nice. Service was ok as they seemed short of staff. You had to wait for long time and staff were struggling to cater.
