Excellent food and brilliant service.Two courses for £16.95 was great value.We weren't rushed and Kat was top class looking after us.Cant fault anything.

I booked here while visiting the area and was a bit worried reading the mixed reviews, but it was perfect! The staff were all lovely, we ordered Sunday roast which was hot, served quickly and lovely! Would definitely recommend

Lovely village pub. Called in for an afternoon bite to eat whilst out for a drive. The food was very tasty and we will definitely call in again when out that way.

Came for Sunday Dinner. Very average: roast potatoes were very dry. Asked for some more gravy - came in a very small jug, had to ask for more. Service wasn't great- very slow. Had to ask three times if we could order some desserts and if they could clear the table. Ordered 3 portions of pigs in blankets only 2 came (they did take this off the bill at the end). Wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend.

This was our first visit since the refurb and must say, we were impressed with fresh new look; and I'm sure it will all soon be paid for by charging £4.20 for less than a pint of lime and soda - it was a very good lime and soda though. Didn't dare look at the beer prices. Daughter had a very small fish cake that could have passed as a starter, wife had a cold and tough rump steak sandwich (I'll put that down to her being a slow eater and give the pub the benefit of the doubt, but I'm not telling her) with a delicious pot of gravy and I had an inch thick slice of tomato and a meatball on a bun that should have been a burger and its description on the menu should have included cheese and bacon; there was hint of flavour but unfortunately was only little more than a rumour; it is only fair to say that the food was OK as I commented when asked by the friendly and attentive waitress, you could tell that all the ingredients had once been quality products that were on our plates but just a little more care in the preparation would have justified the journey from Walton le Dale - a few pea shoots dropped on the plate doesn't cut it. All for just over £50.00. Value for money? Close but not quite.

Had a great meal here with friends. We can highly recommend the sirloin steak, hake and steak and ale pie. Starters also very good and even though it wasn’t in the menu an excellent cheese board was assembled for us. Lovely food and excellent service with a smile from Kat, Mike and Abbi.

A lovely meal in a lovely atmosphere. Our waitress was cheerful and interactive, and we had many chuckles! Since the refurbishment, it looks beautiful inside.

Lovely pub. It was due to close for refurb so some items were limited but the staff were lovely and the food we did choose was very tasty. We’ll be back once it’s open again as we really enjoyed our meal there.

Family friendly pub/restaurant,situated in a pretty little village,we found the staff to be very friendly although we found the service to be seated for our booked evening meal was a bit slow(family of 6),though to be fair to the staff,we did arrive early! We were asked to sit in the pub part of the establishment till our booked time, even though the restaurant didn't look too busy.(explanation was to ease pressure on the kitchen!) 15 minutes after our booked time,we were called through to the restaurant,ordered our meals,which were cooked fresh,were tasty and we could have no complaints about our various dishes! Wheelchair accessibility ,the pub is also dog friendly. Word of warning,the car park is private and you must enter car reg. into the computer screen in the bar on arrival so you don't incur a parking fine!!

7 different meals so can’t even put it down to one ingredient everything was awful. The texture, taste, ingredients all taste disgusting. No atmosphere dining area was like being in a confessional box it was that quiet no one spoke.

Called in whilst on holiday at nearby village. Didn't look much from the outside but was quite cosy inside. Greeted by a lovely lady who was so lovely and made us feel very welcome. Only called for a drink but ended staying for food as we loved it so much. Food was nice (I had a steak sandwich and my husband had a cheese burger). Will definitely visit again when in area. Visited The Grapes quite a few times and now every time we cannot fault it, with brilliant service and such nice food! Today we visited and just wanted nibbles so got the baked cheese board, halloumi and skin on fries - it was just what we needed. We managed to get squeezed today in by the manager, Ali who’s always so lovely. We cannot recommend this pub enough whether it’s for food or just a few drinks. Dog friendly as well! We’ll definitely be back!

We haven't been to the Grapes for a while as we felt it had gone a bit downhill. We were surprised how busy it was and we heard that it had Been taken over by a new landlady. We ended up having a great night and will try again for sure.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Interesting choices on the menu. I had the Mediterranean medley.and it was very tasty. We will be back.

Another fantastic meal here, we always come when stopping at Ribby Hall, Laura and Emma are fantastic girls, it was my husband’s birthday, they put a candle in his cheesecake and sung Happy Birthday to him, absolutely brilliant, definitely recommend this place. Keep up the good work.

Our first time visit, we came with our little dog. The pub and area are super nice. Staff couldn't be more friendly and attentive - we were served by Kat. We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, so we will definitely be back.

Enjoyed a few Friday tea time drinks last night. Things are really looking up in The Grapes’s now it’s under new management. The young ladies behind the were absolutely delightful and as always Mike was fab! The pub was cosy and clean and had a great atmosphere. The that was being brought out looked very much improved and we will be giving it try next time.

My wife and I ate here last night and we are so glad we did. We had heard a few negative reviews and nearly didn't eat here but the atmosphere was nice and warm. We saw the food coming out and it looked nice, so we stayed. The meal offer for the evening is great value - 2 courses £15 or 3 courses £18. We chose 2 courses. I had the starter of crispy squid rings which were lovely and spicy. For the mains I chose the steak and ale pie. Really good and generous portion. The veg were perfectly cooked al dente. My wife had the vegetarian beyond burger, which she said was the best she'd ever had. We shared a large portion of sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and sauce, which was delicious and enough for two. The staff are so attentive and lovely and nothing was too much trouble. It is dog friendly and blankets, biscuits and water were provided for our two Maltese furbabies. A lovely experience and we'll certainly be back for more.

Lovely service but poor food. The starters were dry and tasteless. The mushroom and ale pie was foul- a strange sauce like fabric conditioner. Tasteless gammon and burnt lasagne. Lovely setting and staff but poor food.

We wandered here whilst staying close by, intending to have a quick drink but ended up having a sharing board (which was delicious). The staff were attentive and friendly and the atmosphere great.

Visited here over the weekend. Diabolical service.. managers didnt know the head to their foot never mind how to serve a table.. 3 things we tried to order after waiting for 15 minutes that wasnt on the menu.. we complained after being there for 55 minutes and only receiving our starters to hear the managers stood slandering us.. and creamy mushrooms? Ive had more cream in a bourbon biscuit.. Didnt even get to try the main as we cancelled them.. 4 tables in the whole building and saying its busy! Ridiculous766 excellent reviews?? Them 766 are obviously not mentally there or used to a mcdonalds... i mean fast food takeouts have more manners than this place. If i had the option i would give a minus rating.. not even worth a 1!. Try some team training meetings on customer service and how to speak to people.

Was informed our table wasn’t ready even though the place was virtually empty. Didn’t mind so much the wait but so many unavailable items on the menu which wasn’t told about till after we tried to order them. But the wait was far too long for the starters then waited that long for mains that we gave up in the end and went. The manager that we spoke to was fairly unfazed by the matter and said they was busy when there’s was literally 2 other tables in could then overhear him talking about us like we weren’t there. Wouldn’t recommend this place even though we have never been disappointed before don’t think I’ll be going back

Very disappointing lunch today. Many menu items unavailable; mixed grill, rump steak etc. No heating so very cold and no hot water in toilets. Ordered signature burger with chips and onion rings. Burger was very bland and ordinary and rather greasy. Chips were a frozen fry style affair and I received three flaccid onion rings. Quality was below ordinary and portion size was poor. Quite pricey for a burger and fries that would have been better quality Burger King.

we booked here for a family of 4 when we got there they said it is a reduced menu so we got seated then we asked if we could get moved to somewhere warmer as it was very cold the rude staff then said just go to the bar when you want to order. we then went to order off the reduced menu to be told we don’t have itams on that menu so we just had a think in that time i went to the toilet witch was HORRIBLE. smelly and very run down avoid at all cost

Visited a few days before Christmas. Ordered three meals. One was inedible the other two were poor to say the least. Manager refunded the food which was kind of him. Hardly anyone in the pub eating or drinking which is sad to see especially as the selection of beers and wine is excellent. Not sure what happened here - sad really as I will not be back!

We booked this online because my husband wanted a Christmas Fayre meal before our holiday and this place is fairly local to us, although we have not been here for some time. On arrival we told them we had booked and were given a table right by the door. I asked if the heating was on because it was cold by the door and there was also a vent above my head which was also draughty. We were informed the heating was broken so just left our coats on for the duration. My starter came and it was okay, it was hot. The mains arrived and being vegetarian I had half a butternut squash with something green in/on it and some vegetables. To be honest I was not expecting much, but I was at least expecting it to be cooked. Could not get the knife through most of it. My husband had the turkey Xmas dinner and his vegetables were also mainly raw, his turkey was an odd colour and he said it didn't taste right so he left it. We did complain and were advised chef would be told.... Very disappointing especially considering the price. Could not wait to get out of there, will definitely not be returning and do not recommend to others.

I wanted to return to this “Old Haunt” that I used to visit when I was in my twenties. Looked lovely inside and out. Great team of staff. It should have been packed out being near to Christmas but was ghostly empty. Signature burgers looked amazing but I could have cooked them and I am certainly not a cook. I was disappointed and unfortunately will not be eating there for quite sometime.

We went as a family of 5 for Sunday lunch, we waiting a long time for food and when it came it was like warm and a lot of it felt like it was microwaveable. I would avoid this pub for food.

What was that... Because it wasn't food. Never had a more disgusting meal in my life. Sunday lunch 7 hour slow cooked rib how was that so fatty stuck to the bone and tasteless . What sort of roasted potatoes are these. Under cooked Yorkshire pudding cold veg. What a disaster. All 3 meals taken from the bill. All 3 where not edible.

Always enjoy popping into the grapes after a good walk with the dog. Always made to feel welcome, the pub itself has a great atmosphere and the food and drink has always been spot on. Would highly recommend to anyone 😀

We were a party of two out for dinner. We arrived at the venue and were seated promptly. We were given food and drinks menus to choose from. The waitress took our order of diet coke and a bottle of rose wine. She then came back and said they didn't have the wine so I chose another. She came back again to say they didn't have that one either... so i chose an Argentinian which they did actually have. On arrival of said drinks they brought a pint of lager and the wine. This was sent back to be replaced with the diet coke we originally ordered. I chose garlic mushrooms and my husband chose the butternut squash and sweet potato soup with crusty bread. On arrival of the starters the garlic mushrooms were luke warm and very few mushrooms on the plate. The soup was extremely watery and didn't really taste of anything and the bread that came with it wasn't crusty but rather stale. On to the mains.......... My husband ordered the chicken and ham pie & chips which I assume he enjoyed as he ate it all. I however ordered the ribeye steak to be cooked medium/rare. When it arrived it again was luke warm and once I cut into it it was rare. I called over the waitress and said I wasn't happy with it and she took it away. She then came back to ask if I wanted another one or to chose something else on the menu. By that time I had had enough and said I didn't want anything from the menu and to just bring the bill as my husband had finished his meal in the time it took to come back to me. We weren't charged for the steak and I definitely will not be returning...

Called here having booked a table for 8 on the 3/11/23 had a bit of a wait and when starters came everyone's came except mine then when it did come it was wrong they brought out ordinary fries instead of halloumi fries so by the time I got them everyone else had finished their starter so going on that how can you get an order wrong when it was taken down at the table so sorry won't come again
