Good venue to see a band, nice friendly staff.

Great pub and landlord is a nice guy. We always hire castles to the establishment for private partys and is safety is great. So if looking for a party and want somewhere to hire I would recommend the grandale.

Never had the food but I have seen it - it was party food on paper plates like we used to have at kiddies bday parties (except no pass the parcel or musical chairs lol) I did see them throwing a LOT of it into bin liners however, so there must of been an awful lot left over because she was literally shoveling it in straight off the table were it was all set up.....it just gets to me a bit when I personally know ppl who would of been very glad for some food like that but instead it just goes straight into the bin! Oh & to top it off the staff were shouting & shoving someone through the room swearing & threatening them while there were families there (to eat I assume as it was on a Sunday afternoon) with very young kids. I only went in this place because it's next to where I live but never again! Everyone I've asked has also had something negative to say about the place i dunno why it's like this but there just always seems to be a bad atmosphere like fights or arguments are brewing so no thanks 👎🏼 not for me

A large modern estate pub on Sutton Park. The pub has two large rooms the bar with a nice comfortable seating area at one end has two dartboards and a full-size snooker table (50p for 30 minutes). There is the usual range of beers and lagers and a rotating cask conditioned real ale theakston's Old peculier today. There's a very large Lounge for functions and entertainment. Good pub food, a large car park and secluded out door seating area. A great friendly pub recommended.

I met my partner here after work for a few drinks and a bite to eat I got there a little early so I decided to get a drink while waiting. I was waiting a long while b4 I got served as the bar staff was in the other bar. Once my partner arrived we had a few more drinks and ordered the signiture desperado nacho burger which was amazing not too hot and very filling. The staff are very polite & friendly the food arrived fast the price of the drinks and meals were very reasonable if I wasnt waiting so long for my first 2 drinks it would have got 5/5

If I could give a lower rating I definitely would, absolutely vile owner who clearly needs to be shut down. Stay well away people, you deserve better hospitality than this place!

This is our local, vastly improved since being taken over 18 months ago. However, the white wine is appalling! Landlady is lovely and explained they have to use the suppliers Heineken state. Same with the breakfast, breakfast is absolutely spot on, fresh, and cooked to order. But the bacon is rubbish, again Heineken dictate the suppliers used for breakfast. I would suggest Heineken have a little think about the above issues to make The Grandale one of the best local pubs in this area.

Was here for a kids party August 2023. It has new management and was a lot cleaner and tidier, especially the outside area, than when we were here a year ago, Usual suspects on tap, and 2 handpull cask ales on too, which was nice.

Over all decent experience just the main menu isn't for me as I felt like if it isn't Cajun it has some form spicy to the dish or is finished off with spicy sauce or mayo. so I opted for a all-day breaky which I couldn't fault cooked really well both me and my partner really enjoyed, landlord came over and spoke to us and asked our thoughts I was said pretty much what I wrote here it was received well and he was a really friendly guy and did make us chuckle with his ghost detector on his phone pointing it around the pub. Tell you what you do need to bring back is the award winning beet root burger that you guys had on the menu before that was outstanding!!! Best iv ever had !!!. Any way would and will return

Was my local and hadn't been in here to eat for ages due to it being naff' however I was recommended to retry as under new management, and BOY.... I was very impressed! Food was brilliant, cannot give it more praise, it was tasty, well sized portion, very well priced (2 for £12) and deserts were large compared to other pubs, service was great, really enjoyed it and...main thing the kids had clean plates (makes a change!) will eat again without a doubt!

New owners seem really focused on turning this place around. Went as a family of seven and every meal was hot,brought out at the same time and really tasty. Really impressed and will definitely return.

Had a party at The Grandale Pub on Thursday 9th February, we had the use of the lounge and the conservatory starting at 6PM for the younger ones, they were served a lovely meal of chicken nuggets, sausage and chips by Debbie the cook for the evening followed by ice-cream. Later on we had a disco ran by DJ Doug who played a great variety of music and an absolutely fantastic buffet done by Julie the landlady. Jo and Kelsey did a fabulous job behind the bar. All the staff are really friendly and helpful, I would highly recommend The Grandale for any function or one of the many meal deals during the week. Once again I would like to thank Julie, Steve and all the staff for a tremendous night.

Friendly and cheap however needs cleaning up outside and redecoration on the inside as wallpaper pealing off chairs need a clean carpets need cleaning toilets need sorting. Fabulous community pub in danger of losing custom due to the above issues.

These set of evil c...ts at the last minute cancelled my 5 year old birthday party. You are an absolute disgrace. All party invite sent out, party entertainment sorted ect. This is not over you bas..ds. i can tell you that.

Shame not any Christmas decorations up ! Toilets looking in need of some repair, staff always friendly and helpful.

Its supposed to have offers of food with 50 per cent off Monday to Thursday .... there is no one to cook Monday or Tuesday .... and the last 3 weeks we've tried to eat the other nights of the offer .... no luck... don't bother if you want to eat beginning part of the week

Not impressed. Food was ok despite having to wait 45 minutes for it. No one asked if everything was ok with food. Staff otherwise pleasant though. Grafitti and lock broken on toilet door. Restricted menu. Not a lot of choice especially if you have particular dietary requirements.

I let the bar staff know at 1700 approximately, that there was no soap in the gents. It's now gone 2100 and there is still no soap on the gents. Good piss hole though.

Great landlord, friendly staff and plenty of parking

Friendly staff, decent pints and plenty of choice. Pool table, snooker table, dart board, large screens with sport always on and a separate area for eating and entertainment. Change from a tenner for 3 pints too. What's not to like?

Popped into grandale today (Sunday 30th June) for lunch they are doing chef specials of Sunday roast (beef or chicken) @ £5.95 so I had the beef dinner it was amazing the beef just melt in your mouth and my hubby had one of the burgers ....Katy the new chef is fabulous she is doing an amazing job.. I love everything about grandale it’s a proper family pub the staff are wonderful beautiful people and Steve..Lilith ..and the children make you feel like your part of the family... next function for me is my vow renewal party which will be at the grandale ..thank you Steve x

Nice environment lovely food staff have been helpful and the manager has made queens county FC feel at home here we now using it as our home pub after home games. For those who play Pokemon go the grandale is now a pokestop

The grandale is a quiet place during the day. But they have great events on at times at night.

The pub appears to have a new brewery in charge which has removed all the food offers. We ate as a family of six and the removal of the previous offers ment we paid alot more then we would have done in the past. Not only was the food more expensive it was extremely poor. From the 1st meal to the last meal brought to the table was around 5 minutes,everyone who had ordered meat commented that the meat was overcooked/dry. My son had the curry which he normally really enjoys but it now tastes like its a sauce from a jar. I appreciate it's just "pub food" but it should be of a basic standard. We complained at the bar and when the plates were cleared and nobody from management or the kitchen came out to apologise.

I had my 50th birthday here in May I paid for a savoury buffet which was to be hot and cold food I was more than happy with what we got food was amazing and plenty for everyone iv read were people have complained it was cheap nasty food I can assure you it is not it was an amazing spread .., we have also eaten here numerous times I have never had a bad meal . Amazing food amazing staff and Steve and Lilith are fab hosts ..as for the landlords children being in the pub well it is a family pub and you won’t meet to nicer well behaved children, if you want a proper family pub with great food and atmosphere come to the grandale .

We visited The Grandale just once recently after being away from Hull for a few years. We were pleasantly surprised. A large nicely presented lounge with a side area for families and an outdoor area. There's a separate lounge but didn't go in. The drinks were reasonably priced as was the varied food menu. A large car park with some shops close by. There were tvs showing sport but not too loud. We will go back.
